I am happy I finally got to try this hidden gem. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. This was like stepping in New Orleans with its ambiance, food, and charm.
Everything was immaculate, Like y’all when i tell you everything tastes like heaven. Everything tastes homemade. I literally paid for my food and ordered food to go. From the Appetizers , The dinner and the Dessert was perfect. The service was excellent everyone was so nice and inviting I felt like I was back home eating with my family. Please y’all go try this place out it’s everything and more.
Celebrated a friend’s birthday here and wow … what an incredible meal! The stuffed catfish entree had an amazing creole sauce that was spicy but not too much. The fish was moist and delicious as were the green beans and dirty rice. For dessert, the key lime pie was … no kidding … the best I’ve had in my life! Great atmosphere and service. This place is just five stars all the way. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu.
such a cute spot! They’ve done a beautiful job renovating after the fire, and the space feels warm, welcoming, and full of character. Jaime was incredibly kind and accommodating, which made the experience even better. And although I’ve never visited New Orleans (yet 😉), this definitely felt like the perfect little substitution. great flavor, great atmosphere, and great hospitality. If you’re craving a touch of NOLA vibes right here in Austin, this spot is absolutely worth the visit.
This place will not disappoint! I love, love, love this spot! It is always a vibe! From the staff; Jamie(Miss Belize), to Jerry and the Bartender, they are always pleasant and welcoming! The gumbo was out of this world last Thursday night! We celebrated my husband's birthday like we do every year here and they never disappoint on showing love to returning customers! This place is also kid friendly and my daughter loves the kids menu choices! A must try!
Highly highly recommend Today was my first experience with this restaurant. Was greeted at the door and seated quickly. The waiter who has served there for over 14 years help guide me thru the menu. I ordered the special of the day which was a blackened chicken over crayfish tails. He wisely suggested the dirty rice and right he was. The space was too good to leave there on the plate so the rice helped soak up all the rest leaving no reason to lick the plate, which I wanted to. The owner, a well dressed flamboyant gentleman checked on us before we left and made sure we were satisfied. Can't wait to return to try out the rest of the menu. 5 stars !!
Po boy's are excellent here. Lots of spicy cajun options too. Feels like a much fancier place given the reasonable meal prices at lunch time. Eat here all the time and it's always delicious with friendly staff.
Excellent food and service. I had the pecan crusted trout with shrimp in a cream sauce, it was absolutely delicious. So was the fried green tomatoes topped with crab. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
We love to come here. The food is always expertly prepared and delicious. Great cocktails. I had the Sazarac. The Oysters Rockafeller is so good. A fried oyster on top of each broiled oyster. We usually get the redfish Ponchatrain, but tonight we had the special. Blackened flounder with a lemon caper dill cream sauce topped with shrimp. Stewed cabbage and mashed potatoes. Hot bread and seasoned butter. The Tabasco cheesecake is really good for dessert. Prompt and friendly service. Prices are reasonable for the quality. When I step inside I feel like I'm transported to New Orleans!
I'm from Baton Rouge, and this place is my favorite New Orleans style restaurant in the Austin area. My wife and I have been here many times. The food is always excellent, and the service is prompt and attentive without being overbearing. Our favorites are the Catfish gumbo, Stuffed catfish, Redfish Pontchartrain, fried crawfish tails, Oysters Rockefeller, and key lime pie, though I'm usually too stuffed to order dessert. They serve Community coffee, which my wife loves. And to top it off, their prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food served.
Holy moly! The chefs here are amazing. The way they blend all their spicies with every dish makes them a master of the kitchen. The catfish gumbo with shrimp and crawfish was outstanding paired with red beans and rice ..soooooo good! Do not pass on the homemade desserts. The bread pudding and the Tabasco cheesecake were delicious. A true hidden gem!
From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish showcased attention to detail and a perfect balance of seasoning. The service was exceptional, and I have to give special recognition to Leah—she is the best! Attentive, friendly, and truly committed to making our meal special, she elevated the entire experience. The ambiance felt both relaxed and elegant, making it a perfect spot for a memorable evening. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates exceptional cuisine and top-notch hospitality.
We wanted to try French food. Picked this due to the name, we realized it's New Orleans French Quarter. Well too late!! The food didn't disappoint. From the starter to the main!! The portion too was adequate and their drink offering were top quality. Highly recommended!! The service was immaculate.
I can't believe I've slept on this place for so long. Everything was so flavorful. Okay, the gumbo was good but it was the weakest dish of the night. The etoufee, delicious. And the waitress said "anything in the Yoli sauce is delicious." We had both the blackened shrimp and blackened catfish in Yoli sauce. The chicken Alexander was top notch too. So much goodness!
Consistently delicious food, tasty drinks, exceptional service and low key, NOLA ambiance. We started with calamari and salad with basil vinaigrette (amazing!!) our entrees were grilled steak topped with 3 oysters and flounder. Perfect date night!! If you’ve never been, I’d definitely recommend it. Many thanks to the staff for their dedication to excellence!!
On our visit to Austin, and on the recommendation of a friend, we had an excellent meal at French Quarter Grille! For being in a little strip mall near Walmart, it provided a moderately upscale ambience with white linen tablecloths and cloth napkins. Jenny, our waitstaff, recommended a wine and when it wasn’t quite right for me, offered a sample of another, which I was very happy with, so she brought me a glass! The entrees were to die for, melt in your mouth delicuous, and the award-winning dessert of orange infused crème broulee was perfectly balanced with the vanilla bean base. I also heard the bartender giving wine sampling lessons to a table nearby! I second my friend’s high recommendation of French Quarter Grille if you’re ever in Austin!
We’ve been jonesing for a closer Cajun spot to us as our favorite one is further down south. We are so glad to have eaten at this place. It’s very quaint and unassuming from the outside but once you’re inside you feel immediately transported to NOLA and the French quarter. Food truly tastes like it was from NOLA and even down to their bread rolls, food was perfection. Generous portion sizes for the price and service is attentive and friendly. I do wish there were more cocktail options but other than that this place is amazeballs!
It had been a few long years since I had been to French Quarter Grille and I forgot what I was missing! Great vibe inside the restaurant and great food! It is a bit pricey but just know that it advance and then enjoy all the things. I started with the gumbo and then got the French Quarter Salmon (salmon wrapped in prosciutto topped with chilled crab) and asparagus and then finished the meal with the bread pudding! I would get it all again. Thanks French Quarter Grille!
Tasty foods! Great selection of seafood and good sides. Bread is decent. Had the grilled ribeye with caramelized onions and mushrooms. Great flavors without overwhelming the taste of the meat. Had the red fish special with spicy sauce and it was seasoned very well. Service was great. Only odd thing was the layout of the restaurant. Some tables have cloths, some don't, the establishment is partitioned into 2 areas with no real rhyme or reason.

Damn good joint. All the staff from the front to the back were amazing. The inside of the restaurant is definitely reminiscent of some NOLA staples. Yessir.

A Little hidden gem. Beautiful decor, great food, large portions. Didn't expect to find such a great place in round rock!

My family and I stopped by here to celebrate a special occasion. Despite the fact that we put in a reservation, there was still a wait upon arrival as it was a Friday night. The atmosphere seemed reminiscent of the pre- covid days, very lively, packed, and a little concerning. The staff was clearly overwhelmed as well and it very much showed in the service. The menu offered a great selection of Cajun style eats, and the food itself was absolutely delicious. The prices were a bit higher than most places in the area but the quality of the food definitely justified the cost. All in all would give it a 3.5 but I feel it's worth rounding up to 4 stars. Definitely worth a try though I recommend going during a weekday.

The French Quarter Grille presents a mixed dining experience, excelling in atmosphere and service while falling short in delivering authentic Cajun cuisine. The restaurant boasts a wonderfully romantic ambiance, enhanced by the convenience of easy table reservations and minimal wait times. These elements create a promising first impression, setting the stage for what seems like a delightful evening. One of the highlights of the French Quarter Grille is undoubtedly its incredible service. The staff are attentive and accommodating, ensuring that diners feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout their meal. Complementing this exceptional service is the restaurant's romantic ambiance, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or intimate dinners. The combination of these factors contributes to a positive and enjoyable dining environment, setting a high bar for the overall experience. Despite the pleasant setting and attentive service, the food at French Quarter Grille did not meet my expectations. While I had hoped for an authentic taste of Creole cuisine, the dishes sampled failed to deliver the rich and distinctive flavors characteristic of the region. It's possible that I could try another entree, but the experience left a desire for more genuine Creole flavors. In conclusion, the French Quarter Grille offers a delightful atmosphere and exceptional service, making it a strong contender for a memorable night out. However, those seeking an authentic Cajun culinary experience may find the food lacking. While the ambiance and service are definite draws, potential diners should consider their priorities when choosing this restaurant.
Food is great... service is awful.\n\nBest to do takeout and not eat here... the food is excellent though.
Was in town visiting family and always wanted to try this restaurant. We recommend the gumbo and calamari-full of flavor. Crawfish étouffée was watery. Fish dishes were so so. The atmosphere was designed liked a French Quarter establishment but the vibe wasn’t there. We went on a Saturday night and there was one other table of customers dining.

Absolute worst service I have ever had!!!!! Rude, inexperienced waitress, rude condescending manager! Finished our drinks and left!
I ordered the crab jumbo that was 14 dollars alone. It was so bland and gross. The pasta has no flavor or seasoning. I saw reviews and this place definitely didn’t taste good
