This is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Don't be fooled by the plane and less decorated restaurant. It has great food. We are a Chinese family. Ho Hos can axxomodate large parties. My only wish is that there was more lighting day or night. Im am partially blind.

Love this place. Not only is the food excellent, but I had a wonderful experience with the front desk person, Jack. I had brought my 87 y.o. friend who only speaks Mandarin, and Jack was able to talk with her and make sure she got exactly what she wanted. He was friendly, respectful and my friend and I left feeling that we had been well taken care of. We will be back every chance we get. We drive 7 miles just to get our duck here because it is that much better than any other restaurant.

Ho Ho Chinese Restaurant truly stands out as a gem for traditional Chinese cuisine enthusiasts. My go-to dish is always the Peking Duck, which never disappoints with its crispy skin and succulent meat, perfectly complemented by the house-made Ginger Onion Sauce. The sauce adds a delightful, aromatic touch that elevates the duck to another level of enjoyment. Their soups are another reason to visit; the Traditional Egg Drop Soup is comforting, with a rich broth and the delicate egg wisps that make each spoonful a joy. Similarly, the Wonton Soup offers a different but equally pleasing experience with its tender, flavorful wontons floating in a clear, savory broth. And let's not forget about the Walnut Shrimp - this dish is a true testament to the kitchen's skill, combining sweet, crunchy walnuts with tender, buttery shrimp. It's a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that leaves a lasting impression. Having the privilege of dining here up to once a week, I can confidently say that Ho Ho Chinese Restaurant maintains a consistent quality in both taste and service. Each visit feels like a small feast, celebrating the diversity and richness of Chinese culinary heritage. Whether you're in the mood for something familiar or looking to explore, Ho Ho offers a delightful culinary journey every time.

I have tried many Asian restaurants in Austin, and this is the first place that has left me craving more. The roast Duck and BBQ pork are amazing. The staff is always on point and courteous. The price is right too!

I was scrolling through DoorDash today wondering what to have for lunch and I landed on Beijing duck sandwiches again. I love a good fatty duck with a crispy skin on steamed rice buns. A little sauce, a little green onion, a little cucumber and it's a complete meal in a convenient handheld form. I think I order this about once a week, and it occurs to me I have never reviewed this restaurant which is negligent and shortsighted on my part. Honestly, I've never had anything else at this restaurant but their duck sandwich is so exquisite that my brain just assumes they're superior at everything. So if you go there and don't like it, don't blame me. You should've had the duck sandwiches.

Excellent on all levels. Waitstaff, portions, cleanliness, price. The atmosphere inside is not highly upscale but still nice. Hands down the best Hot and Sour soup I’ve ever had - the amount of oyster mushrooms alone was incredible - large pieces, not just bits. The orange chicken was excellent. The BBQ looks wonderful, I will definitely return.

I've suggested a change to the hours listed as the kitchen closes 30 minutes before the restaurant closes (9:30 & 10:30). Otherwise this place is excellent. I cone to Austin every other week and I come eat at Ho Ho as often as I can.

The food was really good. The general tso tofu was the best. Also got, shrimp fried rice, and chicken wonton. They were all great!

A great Chinese restaurant by I35 and Palmer Ave, serves authentic food as close as you can get, the salty fish and chicken fried rice is wonderful to taste as well as lo mein. Very few Austin restaurants which serve great food, Ho Ho is one of them. Very reasonable prices and great portions. Surely recommend.

Best Duck fried rice I have ever eaten... The roasted pork belly was delicious I'm not sure why it to me so long to finely try it but it is my new favorite. Salt and pepper squid is also my go to it has onions, jalapenos and thai chillies that are fried with it. I love how big their menu is I like to try new things each time. The only thing I'm missing right now is being able to go in and get a big bowl of soup due to COVID-19 but they are taking all the proper precautions. Look forward to when everything is back to normal and we can dine in the restaurant again...

I do love the food here, I always get it to go. The staff is friendly enough, and the food is great. The restaurant is not clean enough for my bougie AZZ. I get my food to go all the time. So good. I got the bbq pork and duck combination last time.

It’s been years since I had roasted duck! Was looking for a good place to go while in ATX and came across this place! It was delicious! The pickled carrot, jalapeño, cabbage was so good! Duck, rice and side for $12! Take my money 😂

Set within a convenient strip mall with ample parking, this restaurant offers a refined take on Hong Kong–style Chinese cuisine. The kitchen demonstrates both consistency and flair, while the staff deliver service that is prompt and personable. Particular highlights include the lobster, which excels whether prepared with salt and pepper or in the richer, more complex XO sauce. The sizzling tofu arrives at the table fragrant and well-balanced, while the salted chicken offers depth without being overpowering. For a lighter complement, the sautéed spinach with garlic provides a clean, aromatic counterpoint. Together, these dishes showcase a kitchen attentive to detail and tradition, making this establishment a worthwhile destination for lovers of Cantonese flavors. While the décor leans modest and the strip mall setting offers little in terms of ambience, the quality of the cooking and attentive service more than compensate.

My new go to Chinese restaurant. Food was delicious. They pay so much attention to there to go food. Packaging is awesome and huge portions. We had the sesame chicken and walnut shrimp 🤤🤤🤤. Probably the best crab rangoon I’ve ever had.

Went to a birthday party there and we had a meal for 10. They brought out around 10 different courses. I believe they have the usual "Americanized dishes" on the menu, but my group mostly had things that were new to me. My favorite things were batter fried pork and shrimp. Each dish was battered and fried to a perfect crisp. The flavor of the batter was so good I'm still thinking about it 2 weeks later. I'll definitely go back to explore the menu more. When we were waiting to go in, I saw a dude walk out with what looked like an entire cooked pig! Not sure if it's fried or cooked some other way. There are also whole fried pork bellies at the front register. This is a place that is what I'd assume is "real Chinese" style food.

(the price varies on weight) it was freshly steamed and tasted great with white rice. food pricing is also decent. will be coming back here for the rest of my stay

First time in Austin for a swim meet. I craved some authentic Chinese food and stumbled upon this place on Uber Eats. I saw their menu had roast duck, pig and some Chinese BBQ. Had to have it. I ordered some pea pod leaves, Chinese pork bbq and roast pig, fried quails, and chow mein. One of the tastiest authentic Chinese food in Austin. If you crave real Chinese food, give this place a try. This place has really good food at reasonable prices. I had my food delivered because I was too lazy to drive. Definitely a must have when I return to Austin next year.

This is by far the best Chinese BBQ restaurant in Austin ( my personal opinion, of course). The food is always excellent! We had the combination for 3 ( soup, bbq pork, duck, pork belly, beef w/ chinese broccoli & crispy pork. We also ordered a combination fried rice). This place is on IH35 South, right before the Parmer Lane exit in between Red Robin & Discount Tire.

Can I just say that any experience with ho ho’s is an amazing one I’ve been eating here since I moved to Austin. This place brings me so much joy it got me through some of the hardest parts of my pregnancy, when nothing else would stay down my go to lo mein solved that problem immediately m. It was one of the first meals I ate after having my baby and today I picked up a to go order and had my baby in her carrier with me and the to go person on duty helped me take my order outside because I did not have enough hands and definitely didn’t think about it. I no longer live around the corner but we still drive 30+ minutes to eat here bc it’s worth it

I am very happy with our Lunar New Year lunch at Ho Ho. The shark fin soup, Peking duck, lobsters & steamed fish are excellent. The staff are very attentive & accommodative. They are willing to swap some dishes with vegetarian alternatives for a member of our party. The food are great value too.

We ordered eggplant, snowpea vegetables, Singapore rice noodles, BBQ combinations (roasted pork, BBQ pork & duck) everything is good except the roasted pork too dry and not much flavor. Service was good.

Delicious classic place I’ve been going to for awhile now. Their dining is currently due closed to COVID, but aside from that it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the North Austin area. They have a wide variety of selections, but my personal preferences are always the BBQ Pork, Roast Duck, and Beef Flat Noodle. It is priced well for the portions and perfect for family dining. I liked it so much I’ve used it as event catered food before! Would highly recommend, they have a wide selection and most everything tastes great.

Great Chinese food that caters to all your different tastes. Our party had fried pork intestine, pork belly, crust duck with sauce, roast chicken with skin left on and sauce, flat noodles, shrimp fried rice and crab soup. We also ordered veggie rolls before the main course and were served hot tea during the meal and given complimentary fortune cookies after. The prices were fair.

Food was Delicious and Service was amazing. Truly one of the best Chinese Food experiences I have had. Duck Soup was hearty and could be the best Crab Rangoons I have had. Portions are huge and definitely could have gotten away with ordering less but what a great problem to have with food this good. Over 100 items and I am sure not one is a bad one!

Get there early unless you want to wait awhile . This place is not a secret anymore , great food ! There are three Chinese restaurants that I go to in and around Austin and this is one of them . I've been coming here since it opened and haven't stopped . Great fresh Seafood and the best Duck my favorite , my wife love the BarBQ Pork and I don't blame her . This place is a must Bon appetit !

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to in a long time. The menu was a little daunting to maneuver through at first. Once I figured where everything was it made it easier to decide. I cant wait to come back and try some more dishes. The staff was very attentive and made sure the food came out quickly.

This restaurant is recommended by a friend and the BBQ combination (roast pork, BBQ pork and marinated chicken) taste great! The ginger oyster is fantastic! My friend told me to try the lobster but I will try it next time. Stuffed with such nice food. Also the service is great and will definitely come back next time when I travel to Austin again.

Since moving to the Austin area it was hard to find good authentic Chinese food. But Ho Ho hit the spot. Probably one of the better Chinese Cantonese style restaurants in Austin. Staff was very friendly as well. Will be back forsure. Ordered the fish mah soup, Beef flat noodles, snow peas with garlic and xo fried rice, mapu tofu, and rock salt chicken.

This was our first time here for our friend's birthday and we were not disappointed! The waitress helped inform us that the food is served family style which was great because the portion sizes are large. Everyone ordered something different and we enjoyed it all. Everything was fresh and delicious. We've been back twice since then. The duck was fantastic!

This was a great find and plenty of parking. It’s kind of hidden. The good was great. I had the bbq duck and pork. There was enough portions for the next day. The price is incredibly affordable. I would highly recommend this if you’re wanting good food with good portions for a very affordable dining.

I had a fantastic meal at Ho Ho Chinese B.B.Q.! The B.B.Q. pork was incredibly flavorful, the roasted duck was tender and juicy, and the salty chicken was just perfect. Everything was delicious and the service was super friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

This place has delicious and succulent Chinese meals. My god, the food made me question what I considered Chinese food up to now. I played it safe with the chicken fried rice since this was my first visit but even that was delicious and far above average. My family had the pork fried rice, crab rangoons, egg rolls, szechuan chicken, BBQ pork, and General Tso's Chicken. Everyone loved their meals, the only hang-up was that somehow our order slipped through the cracks and we ended up waiting an hour and 30 mins for our food. It was a little awkward seeing newcomers or guests who had recently sat down getting their meals first. We accidentally came at what looked like a busier than normal time for them. The staff was super sweet and took care of us when they could. We'll definitely have to stop by again, just on a much slower day. They also have this race car outside! Also if you spend over $50, you can get a labubu for $35. That cracked us up, thank y'all for the delicious meal!

Great Cantonese style Chinese BBQ and other dishes at an exceptional price with good portions. Seems like some of the 1 star reviews were left by haters because they only have a few reviews in general. Can't please everyone so take those reviews with a grain of salt. Ho Ho is highly recommended and I've been to Din Ho and 1st Chinese BBQ and each has it's strengths.

I’ve been going to this place the last 10 years. This place is gas anyone who says otherwise just probably isn’t ordering right. They’re the best value for money Chinese place and their food is so good like actually so good; I recommend their hongkong stir fry noodles or beef flat noodles , salt and pepper tofu; wonton soup (don’t get noodles for more wontons); and 油泡带子; fyi the fried rice isn’t the best- get the authentic stuff

I dropped by Ho Ho Chinese B.B.Q. and was pleasantly surprised. Their Peking Duck was perfectly roasted — crisp skin, juicy meat — and the Roast Pork Belly was rich without being greasy. Their Salt & Pepper Shrimp and Hot & Sour Soup made excellent starters. The place has a relaxed, no-frills feel (just what you want with this kind of food) and the staff were friendly, quick, and seemed proud of what they do. Portions were generous and prices reasonable — it’s exactly the kind of authentic Chinese BBQ spot you hope to find.

Best Chinese restaurant I know. Consistently the same for the past 20 years. I know it’s a new owner since Jackie but the food is still the same in my opinion. I’ll always be a fan and go there. I love the shredded garlic pork and my friend got the Peking duck which was excellent. The owner took our order personally. That’s service.

Ho Ho Chinese BBQ is a hidden gem for Cantonese-style roast meats in Austin. The roast duck and BBQ pork are flavorful, juicy, and have that perfect crispy skin and caramelized glaze. You can see the meats hanging by the window—always a good sign! Portions are generous, and the prices are fair, especially for the combo plates. The interior is no-frills, but the food more than makes up for it. Service is fast and efficient, and they do a brisk takeout business. If you’re craving authentic Chinese BBQ, Ho Ho delivers the real deal.

We have been coming here for many years . Food has always been consistently great. In addition to the normal Chinese dishes, they have a really good wonton soup and their pork barbecue is very tasty Prices are very reasonable, considering the portions you get. The lunch menu has great options and is really reasonably priced and you get a lot of food. Vegetarian options are plenty. Not much more to say than good selection, quality of food and quick service has always been my experience.

This is an old Chinese restaurant with fantastic food. My family and I always order the live lobster, which is incredibly fresh and tender. We especially love the salt and pepper seasoning, and the fried garlic on top is a must-have. It’s one of the main reasons we keep coming back. In addition to the lobster, they offer a wide range of sautéed dishes that attract food lovers who enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine. The food comes out quickly, so we never have to wait long. We also make sure to order the Peking duck and roast pork, both of which are excellent choices. Highly recommended! I’ve rated the atmosphere lower, though, because the restaurant is quite old and could really use a renovation to update the furniture.

Very tasty food! I thought it was authentic and good in flavor for each dish we ordered. Not super clean atmosphere but is very typical of the restaurants that I think are good. My favorite dish would be the fish with corn sauce, but I didn't have a picture of that cuz i got hungry.

Tried Pecking duck, one of my foodie friend recommended this place. Food and price was good, did not realized resturant is offering only to go orders. Had to eat in my car, but that's okay. Only recommendation is I wish they put more green onions instead of cucumbers.

The food was ok. I'm expecting more flavourful dishes. Maybe because I stayed in Singapore for a long time and my chinese taste buds are longing for more authentic chinese food.

R

The food is amazing but the service is Asian. (Asian you ask? They mixed our order. We ordered 2 plates: a roast duck and a roast pork and they gave us one combination plate. I called them over to let them know about the mistake. They went to the table that they took our food which was already being picked at. I watch the waiter rearrange the food so that plates are correct and came back to us with the plate.) You can't be mad at it, just know what you're getting and you can't have authentic Chinese food without the questionable service. That's when you know it's legit.

No frills good food. You come for the great food, not the ambience. Crab fried rice and crispy pork belly were 2 of the unforgettable dishes. On the negative side, the restaurant ambience is bad. Front counter is very messy. Dining room is cluttered with items that don’t belong there. Furniture is very old. Ceiling is dirty.. Lighting is bad. This is not a place to go if you are trying to make a good impression on someone.

Very busy Christmas day. The food was good. Service a little slow, but that's understandable since the place was packed. The womans room has toilets that are too low for my 90 year old mother

Great food and generous servings. This seemed to be under new management or ownership (post-COVID) staffed with younger more active folks which are customer-oriented than your typical oriental establishments. This is a good place for dining .. great selections and is our default when we crave for Chinese dishes. Update : food is still good! Though, keeping up with the times, prices had increased - but within reasonable amounts. Most dishes are $15.99. Peak hours, parking maybe a tad difficult, one can park at the business' (shared) parking area. Setvice still quick. Still worth a regular visit to enjoy good food.

Needing a fresh start to Chinese New Year we turned to Ho Ho to lift our spirits. Located right off of I-35, Ho Ho is tucked away into a shopping center but should really be more accessible because this place makes some good Cantonese style Chinese food. We ordered for pickup and they had the food ready fast and pickup itself was a breeze. The price felt very fair for the amount of food that we got, which is nice to see as many Chinese places now seem to be getting much pricier. After a short drive back we were very excited to dig in. Here’s what we got for our New Year feast: Steamed pork dumplings - some big dumplings, packed with filling and not too bad on flavor Salt and pepper pork chop - very good. Salty flavor and good spice from the peppers Singaporean noodles w/ chicken - phenomenal, deep flavor and texture. Best dish out of all Beef chow fun - wet style chow fun is very good, beef was perfectly tender and flavorful Plain lo mein - simple but tasty, executed perfectly with good noodle texture Ho Ho excels at Cantonese style food, maybe better than any other place in Austin. This trip knocked us out of the park and we can’t wait for our next excuse to come here. They do offer dine in as well and have a pretty large inside area so maybe we’ll sit down formally next time. Either way, convenient, good value and good food as well makes this a standout choice for Chinese food in the North Austin area.

Decided to order here for a quick lunch while passing through and right away I could tell it's very authentic. We got the roasted pork over rice, shrimp wonton noodle soup, and lo mein. On the roasted pork plate they were VERY generous with the white rice. Filling up the whole big square container. Which as Asians more rice the better. The pork itself was very tasty and didn't have that weird nasty pork taste that some places be having. Skin wasnt crispy, but that's cause we ordered it to go and it was sitting in the container. Now for the shrimp wontons, they are too too good. They don't have that fishy strong shrimp taste and smell. They almost taste like shrimps balls. The soup was very clear, flavorful and not greasy feeling. Lo mein actually had flavor unlike some places that just taste like oil. Highly recommend this place, and would come again if I ever pass through the area in the future.

Went in here for lunch during the week. Has a great lunch special for $10.50 that comes with an entrée, side of rice, egg roll, and choice of three kind of soups. Ate the General Tso chicken with fried rice and wonton soup. Chicken was very flavorful but slightly chewy. Fried rice felt a little lacking in flavor and kinda dry but still pretty tasty. The egg drop soup my partner had was very tasty, wonton soup was a little lacking. The cream cheese Rangoon appetizer was perfectly fried and we enjoyed the egg rolls as well. Service was very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is kinda lacking but still had an overall great lunch experience. Definitely recommend for a decent lunch Chinese spot.

Most folks come here for the barbecue. My wife loves the duck, her family loves the lobster. I have a preference for their crispy noodles, fried pork chop and wonton soup. Good wait service but the bathrooms are always a nightmare. Really good prices. Lots of veggie options.

We visited the place after almost four years. Ordered a family set lunch and to our surprise they've kept a pretty good quality of the food they served. The soup was tasty, liked by all. The BBQ trio was good, except the soy chicken might need some improvement to rid the taste of frozen meat. Char Shu was juicy and fresh. Roast duck was good but a bit salty. The fried pork rib was super. The beef/Chinese broccoli was fresh tender and flavored just right. We loved the fish clay pot very much. It was tender, fresh, and no fishy taste. Overall experience was great, we'd come back again.

This used to be my favorite place to go. I have referred so many people here, this time it all changed. I always order the same thing but I think they changed the cook because I order the combination rice and this time it looked like just rice with 4 shrimps. I called it in and the manager said: maybe the cook was making another order and "DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DISTRIBUTED" (this does not make sense) the manager asked the cook to redo my order, this time I looked inside the plate before leaving and it was the same thing. They actually serve me like 5lbs of rice with 2 shrimps and no chicken nor pork. I just left the order on the counter and told the guy there to forget it I no longer wanted my order. I RATHER LOSE MY MONEY. I WILL NO LONGER GO TO HO HO, I rather go to the one on Braker and Lamar. SORRY HOHO, YOU WERE SO GOOD!!

Update: With great dismay, I have to amend my previous review. The quality seems to have declined recently. Initially, I thought it was a rare off day of the main chef; however, another recent visit proved disappointing also. The roast pork (and roast duck) quality and workmanship declined significantly. It is a significant degrade compared to the previous. The other dishes are not as good as they were. I don't know if the chef has changed or the management has changed; what is clear is the food was not as good as it was previously. Original Review: We have been customers since this restaurant was established. It has been the most consistent Cantonese style restaurant in the Austin area. Over the years the roast pork has improved to the level of must try in Austin.

Neat place with good service. The BBQ pork was flat on flavor and the roast duck is something I will never try from them again. Kung pao squid is really good and the flat noodle beef is good too. Egg rolls were ok. Oolong tea was surprisingly good too.

prices keep going up while quality has gone down. It's hard for us to continue coming here when Din Ho has been far more consistent. Their roast duck (not peking) is still the best in Austin.

We ordered a substantial amount of food as we had tried it before in the past and enjoyed it. That was not the case this time. The lo mein was had only an oily flavor The mapo tofu had a watered down tomato sauce with absolutely no spice All the beef dishes we ordered felt like you were eating rubber and either too salty or no flavor at all. The wonton soup was the only thing that was OK.. and nothing special.. this place use to be my favorite place to eat and I would recommend it to everyone. I won't be doing that anymore.

Quality went downhill. Worst char siu and roast pork I have ever had. Uneven cut. Fatty part was not rendered at all and super hard to chew. Seasoning wasn’t there either, very bland. Roast pork had a very tough texture on the skin, not crispy at all. And there are hair on the roast duck !!!!!! Been buying and supporting them through the pandemic and this is beyond disappointing. Would not come back again.

Would give a 0 star if we could! Terrible customer service! The Chinese guy this morning on Thanksgiving day passing out turkeys was extremely rude and had a super bad attitude! WORST experience ever! Will NEVER go back!

Found a SHARP metal in togo. But what made me to give this review is the rude attitude of the staffs. After questioned by several staffs the same questions... they insisted restaurant credit only. They told me it was not a big deal and just something that falls of from their cooking tools... What's worst is that they rudely hangup my phone because they were "busy".

Be aware of the gratuity added to your bill. We came in late for dinner with 2 adults and 3 children ( 2,6 and 12 years old ). The total was automatically added 20% to the bill even though the 2 years old was in the high chairs or not in the high. We had asked the waiter about the charges and he ask if the 2 years old ate the food? What the world is going on?We were eating out every weekend and never got charged like that. So disappointed!

Ordered BBQ pork and low mein noodles which arrived separately about 5-6 minutes so as my pork was getting cold, I asked for a canned drink with another straw as I dropped the UNWRAPPED first. The server did not remove from table and brought another straw UNWRAPPED. Food not as good as previous visits. Would NEVER recommend. I observed 3 employes on phones, or playing in hair, touching face..., no gloves, the place smelled sour, outdated decor, floor under the table was nasty and bathroom really needed attention. This used to be a clean friendlier place, I had not been since moving out of the area over 7 years ago. What an unsightly lot with vagrants and unhoused persons in tents occupying a nearby area. Seems deserted of customers including the RED Robin & Buffalo wild wings nextdoor.

Straight garbage, they receive F for Failure. I read the bad reviews but now I see why. Optimistic, we try the roast duck but it was cold when it came out. Duck and chicken not marinated very well. Also their bok choy and mushrooms were bland and chewy. Overall unpleasant meal. I normally like to take a to go box home, but this time it was only filled with rice. And we just left the rest. Not worth eating. Also trash boxes in front of restaurant and unclean booths with food wedged into the cracks.

I am Chinese myself, I never been to a restaurant with such a bad service, the waitress was not happy the amount of food we were ordering, we said we will order more if it’s not enough, she said it would be lots of trouble if we do that. We ended up did not finish what we ordered. They also pre charged tips, and did not tell us, so we tipped again. Chairs are super stained too. I am very sad to say so, I am not looking for a fancy Chinese restaurant, I just want a clean, good service, honest Chinese restaurant with good food. Is it too much to ask?

I didn’t feel that it was worth fifty dollars, and the whole roast duck I bought made me eat half of it. It’s just another way. It’s almost the same as the 99 supermarket, but the ones you buy here can always be bought at the 99 supermarket. three! For the last time, I will not come back again

This is the second time I bought a roast duck with a problem, which is that half of the lean meat on both sides was taken away. In general, the owner is not very nice. I have been a customer of this restaurant for more than 10 years, but will never come back to this restaurant. If you buy roast duck, be careful.

There are only 6 oysters in one serving, and the taste of the roast duck has chang,We visit their place often and were very disappointed this time.

I decided to order through DoorDash I ordered the duck and pork entrée that comes with a side of white rice, highly disappointing. The pork was overcooked and dry very close to consistency of beef jerky. The duck was also overcooked and After going through all the bones very small portions of actual duck meat Very disappointed at the quality of food, especially at a $20 price point.

Ho Ho used to be one of our favorite restaurants. On Christmas Day, we ordered takeout. We understand that it can be very busy on holidays, so we didn’t mind the wait. However, when we opened the box of food, we were honestly disappointed. The soy sauce chicken was extremely dry and completely flavorless. The roast duck came with five pieces that were all bones, almost as if they were leftovers or scraps no one wanted. The crispy pork looked carelessly chopped, with each piece so large that it was unappetizing. The other stir-fried dishes were acceptable, but ever since the ownership changed, the overall environment of the restaurant has looked unclean. The floor appeared very dirty, and the overall quality makes us not want to go back again.

We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant for over 12 years — it used to be our absolute favorite Chinese spot in town. We came so often that some of the waitresses knew our order the moment we walked in, without us saying a word. That’s how loyal we were. To be honest, the place has been dirty for a long time, but we kept going because we genuinely loved the food. Unfortunately, even the food has gone downhill. The quality has dropped, the portions have gotten noticeably smaller, and the service is almost nonexistent. Tonight, I didn’t even get my water refilled once. What finally pushed us over the edge was the bill: a 20% service fee was quietly added to our two-person dinner, and then we were still asked to leave a tip on top of that — with no disclosure or explanation. After more than a decade of supporting this place despite its flaws, this feels unacceptable. It’s sad to watch a restaurant we loved for so many years decline like this, but we won’t be returning.

They use to be good. But recently when ordering take out experience are bad :(. This is half chicken I ordered. Looks like they pieced together some leftovers…
