We came here for lunch . We had dosa, puri/aloo, tandoori chicken, noodles and chai. The food was excellent. We loved all the items. The service was a bit slow. The tables were cleaned with a cleaner which had a strong and off-putting odor. Would request management to see that they use something different
The best Indian cuisine I have had! Just perfect! The restaurant is casual and fun. The portions are generous and tasty! The biryani js a must have!!
I’m writing this review after visiting this place 4 times in just 30 days. This is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in the Austin area. I’m confident you’ll agree once you try it yourself. The service is exceptional — food starts arriving in under 5 minutes, no matter how big your order is. The staff truly care about customers, making sure every order is accurate while also giving great recommendations. The flavors are incredibly authentic, especially if you enjoy Telangana and Andhra-style cuisine. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience you get. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant you don’t want to miss — try it out and you’ll thank me later!
Our favorite biryani place by far. The naan bread is amazing and the wait staff is super friendly. Great food at a decent price. Got 2 dishes for 2 and taking food home. The only downside is, if you’re not Indian you will likely need help deciphering the menu.
Good food and great service. They have several flavors of biryani. We tried the biryani, butter chicken, and dhal tadka. All are good albeit the biryani is spicier than expected but the waiter offered to replace the dish which we ended up doing. Will definitely come back.
Nawabi Hyderabad House truly stands out for its goat biryani. The flavor is unique and bold, with distinct South Indian peppery notes and deep traditional spices that you don’t find in typical biryanis. It has a rich, authentic taste that feels straight out of Hyderabad. They also offer special biryanis, which makes the menu even more exciting. On the day I visited, they had Goat Nalli Biryani, and it was outstanding — incredibly flavorful, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. They also try to make authentic dum biryani rice cooked in layers with meat in sealed pot. If you enjoy strong, traditional South Indian–style biryani with real depth and character, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended! 🍛🔥
Well, I'm writing this review for two things: 1) Food quality, quantity, and taste, along with service and atmosphere, are unmatched in the Austin area. Please keep up these standards. 2) Last night my wife forgot her bracelet, which was worth worrying. I almost gave up, but kudos to the working staff! They made sure it was safe and handed it over to us. Trust is where everyone builds. Thank you, team! I highly recommend everyone this place to everyone
Absolutely amazing experience at Nawabi Hyderabad House, Austin! The food was super delicious. The Chicken Manchurian was truly out of this world, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The mutton biryani was equally fantastic, rich, aromatic, and authentic. The staff deserve a special mention- very polite, friendly, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The ambience is pleasant and comfortable, perfect for dining with family or friends. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Hyderabadi cuisine. Will definitely be back!
I went to Nawabi Hyderabad House in Austin about a week ago. My work colleague told me about after she brought some super delicious vijawayada chicken biryani to a potluck event. During my visit, I ordered butter chicken, mango lassi, naan, and vijawayada chicken biryani. The butter chicken was done well, and it tasted really good when eating it with naan. The mango lassi was also extremely rich, sweet, and thick. I was a bit cautious at first when it came to ordering rice. I thought the vijawayada chicken biryani portions were going to be small, but the proportions here are enormous. I certainly over-ordered and I had to take my biryani home. I didn't know it would be that big! It took me three days trying to finish this biryani. The portions are generous!!!
We recently placed a catering order from Nawabi Hyderabad House Austin, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The Mutton Sukka was tender and full of rich spices a real highlight of the meal. Both the Chicken Dum Biryani and Vijayawada Chicken Biryani were packed with authentic flavors, and everyone loved them. The Chilly Chicken had the perfect balance of spice, and the Garlic Naan was soft and tasty. Truly an awesome place to order from highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic and tasty food!
The food exceeded our expectations. Portions are big compared to the price. Food tastes very good for a non-Indian like myself. Lots of spicy food on the menu so make sure you ask the staff beforehand. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and doesn’t stink of bad odor. I can tell the place is very well ventilated. It was a good experience. Would 100% come back and recommended.
I had the pleasure of enjoying their Onam Sadya, and it was truly exceptional! Chef Sumesh deserves special appreciation for preparing such authentic and delicious traditional sadya items—it felt like a perfect festive treat. I’ve visited this restaurant many times and every single dish I’ve tried has been outstanding, from their flavorful Mandi and aromatic biryani to the mutton pepper roast, puri bhaji, masala dosa, plain dosa, and so much more. The consistency in taste and quality is remarkable. The manager Robin makes sure everything is running smooth and are always friendly, attentive, and quick to address any requests or concerns with a smile, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. A perfect combination of great food, warm hospitality, and excellent service. Highly recommended!
I’ve ordered from Hyderabad House several times—mostly to-go—and it’s about time I shared a review. Their Kofta Biryani is a longtime favorite of ours. I’ve even had it at their other locations in Hillsboro, OR and Irving, TX, and the taste and quality have been consistently great. Most recently, I ordered the Vijayawada Special Paneer Biryani (Mini Bucket) for $32 + tax. It followed a homemade pav bhaji dinner, and to be honest—it was easily enough for 6 people, even though it’s labeled for 2–3 (probably assuming it’s the only main dish). Great flavor, generous portion, and excellent value. A unique bonus—this location is BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze), and they have patio seating where you can relax and enjoy your food outdoors. Makes for a really chill dining experience. Also worth noting: Tonight (Thursday), they’re hosting a “3D Night” featuring ‘D’osa, ‘D’onne Biryani, and ‘D’hwani band live performance. Events like this add a fun, community vibe to the place. Definitely recommend Hyderabad House if you’re craving flavorful biryanis—especially the Kofta and Vijayawada Paneer—and want a laid-back, BYOB-friendly spot in North Austin.
If you’re craving bold, authentic Hyderabadi flavors in Austin, Nawabi Hyderabad House delivers in every way. The Dum Biryani is hands-down the best in town — aromatic, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned, with tender, flavorful meat buried under beautifully cooked basmati rice. We also tried their Goat Curry and Paneer Butter Masala, both rich, deeply spiced, and packed with authentic South Indian warmth. Every dish has this unmistakable homemade quality, like a little slice of Hyderabad right here in Texas. The spice levels are legit — not dumbed down — so if you like it hot, you’re in for a treat. Service is fast, friendly, and the place has a lively, no-nonsense vibe that’s all about the food. A go-to spot for anyone serious about real Indian food in Austin.
I recently ordered catering from Nawabi Hyderabad house Austin for my cocktail party, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and a hit with all my guests. The service was top-notch, everything arrived on time, fresh, and exactly as promised. The team(Sai was very responsible),professional, responsive, and made the entire process seamless. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for high-quality catering and food. Looking forward to ordering again.

Ordered the Chicken Dum Biryani online. The very first spoon of the rice was flavorful, loved that first impression. The masala was well balanced and proportionate throughout the rice, which made it enjoyable. The chicken was slightly on the drier side, so reducing one star for that. Portion size is generous and definitely worth the price. Overall, a good experience with room for minor improvement.
got the goat dum biryani, it was pretty good but didn’t truly hit the spot. rice to meat ratio was off so i was left with a half box of rice. some of the mutton pieces were amazing (marrow piece included so bonus points for that!) but some were very dry/fibrous. the accompanied raita was great, not as big fan of their salan. the mango lassi was very good. I also ordered a gajar halwa but i guess they ran out (understandable, it’s not carrot season) and they substituted with a double ka meetha, although I wish they just refunded me. it tasted fine, I just would not prefer deep fried bread in extra sweet syrup when i ordered carrots in extra sweet syrup lol
First time trying Nawabi, with a takeout order of 2 Dosa Specials. The Kheema Stuffed would’ve been amazing if it were not obliterate-your-tastebuds spicy (I lived for almost 20 years in South East Asia and can take hot!). The Chicken Tikka Dosa was very good indeed and right level of spice (a little heavy on the green peppers tho). Sauces were decent. Sambhar was exceptional and one of the best we’ve ever had. We’ll likely be back to sample more of the extensive menu, but based off this one order, it certainly won’t be out go to. Pick up was a breeze and no tip requested on payment. I would say it was still on the pricey side especially for a “special” - all items pictured were almost $40.
The food we ordered are delicious. The spices are blend really well. We like spicy food so the menu in this restaurant is perfect for us. We came on weekend,it was many customers so the service is slow. Just want give suggestion, it will look more presentable if the servers wear uniform. We will come back. Let see if the service will be better.

Got to try the biryani after few folks recommend this place. TBH chicken biryani was just average.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this store. I ordered the #Chicken #Biryani and #Dragon #Chicken, expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from acceptable. The food quality did not meet expectations — the biryani lacked authentic flavor and freshness, and the dragon chicken was not prepared properly. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of accountability. Despite raising the concern, the manager never responded or addressed the issue. Customer service is just as important as food quality. Ignoring customer feedback reflects poorly on the establishment and shows a lack of professionalism. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves both their food standards and their responsiveness in the future.
We ordered chicken biryani and paneer biryani worst biryani I ever had. This is my first time ordering here and which made me not to order again. 70% masala and bones in one box. Not ordering again
Dosa Buffet – Hyderabadi House I usually avoid posting negative reviews and even waited a some time to make sure this wasn’t just a momentary frustration. Unfortunately, I still feel compelled to share my experience. I had previously visited this place with friends and enjoyed the biryani, which is why I decided to return with my family and try the Dosa Buffet. The welcome was decent — a simple greeting and being seated, which was perfectly fine. When we ordered, the staff member mentioned that my 10-year-old daughter could eat for free. I chose to pay for her anyway as it didn’t feel right otherwise. We placed our first order of dosas. However, after receiving only part of our first order, we were seemed overlooked. Not only did no one check back for additional orders, but even our initial request was never fully served. I reminded waiters and staff members several times, but there was no improvement. After repeated follow-ups, we received only one of the two pending dosas from the first order. It genuinely felt as if serving us was not a priority. After waiting a long time and deciding to leave, I informed the staff member who had taken our order. His response was: “My job is only to take orders. The kitchen and serving team are responsible. You can write a review if you want.” That response was surprising and disappointing. I had no intention of writing a review until that moment. It suggested either the issue is known but not taken seriously by management, or that customer experience/feedback simply doesn’t matter. I paid at the counter and mentioned the situation. The person there felt sorry and offered to get the dosa then, but by then we had already waited long and decided to leave. I’m not discouraging anyone from visiting, but after this experience I personally wouldn’t return. Mistakes happen, but how situations are handled makes all the difference. Better service or a more graceful response would have gone a long way.
I ordered garlic paneer expecting something rich, flavorful, and aromatic—but this was a complete disappointment. The taste was honestly one of the worst I’ve had. Instead of a balanced garlic flavor, it was either overpowering or strangely bland at the same time. The paneer itself was rubbery and didn’t taste fresh, and the gravy had an odd aftertaste that made it hard to enjoy even a few bites. The dish lacked proper seasoning, and the garlic didn’t feel well-cooked—it tasted harsh rather than fragrant. Overall, it felt poorly prepared and not worth the price at all.
The lamb in the tandoori platter was clearly raw/undercooked, which is a serious food safety issue. Even worse, I found cockroaches on the food, including on grilled items. This points to a major hygiene and sanitation problem in the kitchen. This is not a matter of taste or preference—it’s a basic health and safety failure. I stopped eating immediately. When issues like raw meat and visible pests occur, trust is completely lost. I would strongly caution others before dining here.
