Tried Sitara Indian Restaurant and this is easily one of the best Indian buffets in Austin. The live dosa stand, the variety of biryanis was impressive, each with distinct flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The chaat and pani puri were great, and the dessert spread (rasgulla, rasmalai, double ka meetha, burfi) was outstanding. Clean, well run, and great value. Definitely coming back.

We were in Austin visiting family and decided to try the buffet at Sitara. Honestly, it was really good. There were a lot of options, and everything we tried tasted great. After a long time, this felt like one of those Indian buffets where you actually enjoy the food, not just the variety. The paya soup was a standout, and the fish pulusu was flavorful and comforting. The biryanis were well cooked, and the sweets were a nice way to end the meal. Overall, we left fully satisfied and happy with the experience. Would definitely recommend it if you’re in Austin and craving a good Indian buffet.

New Sitara is the BEST Indian buffet in Austin. The carefully and specially curated menu which gives equal importance to veggie and non vegetarian dishes. All the dishes are made with so much care and importance. Mutton Biryani is my most favorite dish on the menu, the pieces are always so tender and the taste is always spot on. There is a huge variety of dishes, all the way from veggie starters to the 15-20 types of desserts. I have been going to this place for more than 8 years now and I have never been disappointed. I have recommended this place to many of my patients, they have loved it as well.

I have visited on jan 1st 2026. I saw their instagram post and decided to give it a try. By the time I reached the place was packed, there was a huge waitline. i have waited for like an hour but the food was worth the wait. I had tried most of the items but couldn't take the pictures cuz i was soo hungry. i loved their pachimirchi goat pulav they put nice amount of ghee in it. I also liked their goat dum biryani. The sweets were just aacording to my liking mild sweetness. Hakka noodles were good too. I was too full to try their samosa chat. overall i had great experience with food there. A special shoutout to the hostess I believe her name is Prasanna. She did an excellent job managing the crowd and handled customers with calm and professionalism. Her service truly stood out and made the long wait much easier.

Visited this restaurant for the Sunday buffet and had a wonderful experience. The buffet offers a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and everything was fresh and delicious. What really stood out was the personal attention from Prasana and Gopi. They checked in on guests, suggested trying items when they were freshly refilled- especially the fish fry-and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying their meal. The furniture and overall setup are nice and well-maintained, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, a very satisfying and well-managed buffet experience.

The chatt ,biryani station and flavorful, and the goat curry had a nice depth of spiceThe buffet was well-organized, clean, and consistently replenished. I also appreciated the variety of chutneys and salads to balance out the rich dishes. For dessert, the kheer and gulab jamun were the perfect sweet ending. Just tried the buffet at New Sitara Indian Restaurant, and I was really impressed! They have a great variety of dishes that cater to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The flavors were authentic and nicely balanced—not too spicy but still full of taste. The highlights for me were the fresh naan, the rich butter chicken, and the biryani, which was perfectly cooked and fragrant. Their vegetarian options were also excellent, especially the paneer curry and dal. The salad bar and dessert section (loved the double ka meta !) were a nice touch.

The establishment it's self was open, spacious, clean & had a modern appearance. The atmosphere was great. Thiru was such a great host. Each stop he made was ensuring on our every need. He was extremely nice, polite, and patient with any / all questions we had. I do recommend stopping in & giving them a try. It's a must!

Visited the buffet for Sunday lunch recently after the World Cup cricket match 🏏, and as expected there was a huge rush. We arrived around 2:00 PM, and the staff mentioned the wait time would be about 15–20 minutes. However, due to the heavy crowd, we were finally seated closer to 3:00 PM, which felt quite long ⏳. The buffet layout had separate sections for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes 🍛. However, in another section both veg and non-veg items were placed close together. Because of the crowd and multiple people serving at the same time, the serving area became quite messy. At times, non-veg gravies were spilling and mixing near veg dishes, which could be concerning for strict vegetarians. Additionally, the steel katoris and serving spoons didn’t always look properly cleaned, and the overall seating and dining area felt a bit disorganized during peak rush hours. Slightly disappointed with the food from this place. Ordered Malai kofta , daal makhani and paneer Tikka. Kofta was slightly over salty and daal was very thick. Naan and roti were good. Paneer was very very spicy. They served water in a glass bottle but did not clarify it was not filtered water, as it tasted little funny.
