I reserved a table with Naomi for a group of 10. This was the entire groups first time at SABG. Naomi was SO accommodating and responsive. The staff working that day was attentive, and quick with our orders. I would def go back, and recommend this place to others.

This place blew my mind with all the beers, entertainment, outdoor seating, and food options! What a cool place. Plenty to do and drink and hang out with friends. They have auxillary bars out back next to the food trucks. Definitely want to go back! Oh, very clever with the men's urinal--that made me laugh

We Love coming here. Plenty of Drink Options, dog friendly, and plenty of parking/ seating. Just wish the food trailers were open late (you know when you really wanna eat, after drinking).

South Austin Beer Garden is hands down one of the best places to watch UFC! The inflatable projection screen gives you that perfect big-game feel, and there are plenty of picnic tables, making it ideal for hanging out with friends. With two bars and a well-staffed setup, you never have to wait long for a drink. They offer a reasonable selection of drinks, so you’re always covered. The fans and misters keep things cool on those scorching Texas days, and the propane heaters are clutch when it gets cold. The food trucks are awesome—I've only tried the taco spot, but their birria-style street tacos are legit. Perfect spot for good vibes and a fun night out!

Epic spot. Day visits with the kids, before 9pm. The staff is amazing! Parking is legit, as of now corn dog truck, with lots of carnival fried treats. Taco truck on point. Just a fun place. Lots of TVs with all the current games and some fun retro game machines. Must try place.

Naomi, their event coordinator and her team today were beyond amazing. We hosted a baby shower for my daughter and Naomi and her team catered to our every whim. A special thanks to all of them. My daughter had a blast, as did all of the friends and family that attended. This was the perfect spot for our large group of 70. Everyone that attended raved about the venue and how it was the most amazing baby shower they had ever attended. Thank you Naomi and team at South Austin Beer Garden for making my baby's baby day special. We will definitely recommend you all for future events !!!!

Excellent spot! Many seating options including inside, on the covered porch. They have plastic sides and heaters for cold weather. There’s also an open patio with fire pits and they even lit a fire for us! You can smoke anywhere outside. The Achiote food truck sells delicious classic street tacos with good chile flavors on solid corn tortillas. It looked like they had about 30 beers on tap and have a full bar with whatever you want.

The food is not really there's but all the trucks are excellent. The crawfish boils are legendary! The staff is amazing! Oh and the beer is plentiful and cold! I mean, what else do you need?

This place is relatively new, but the owners seem to be reinvesting all the profits into the place. I live about an hour away and every time I visit this place, which is about once a week, they have stepped up their game ten fold! This place is so fun and cool, us the food is top notch! Best burgers, wings, salads, sandwiches and appetizers in the South. And they change up the menu every other week as far as I can tell. Oh, and unbelievable Whiskey and draft selection! 6 Stars in my Book!

Great atmosphere! There's like 80 beers on top, all types of cocktails made as well, and 10 or so TVs scattered around the bars. Plenty of outdoor seating on both a giant patio and a dirt area. Would be a great place for a large group to be able to hang together in a bar setting but not be separated. There's parking, but limited, so Uber in. Kid friendly until 7p daily. Grand opening coming soon.

Lots of TV screens for all the sports that we love! Great party atmosphere or chill space. I love this bar. I always have fun there!

I've only had drinks here and not so much of the food, but I can say in terms of the folks who serve here are fantastic! They are a bunch of lively bartenders, and honestly, some folks are having a pretty good time here, and it's not too big either. The last time I went here, I had a drink for the first time in a while and felt like getting out because the weather was nice. Drinking a couple of shots of Goldschlager while talking with the bartenders about old animated shows was pretty nice.

Great spot for grabbing a drink with friends. Both inside and outside are choice spots. Brought my little dog and he fit right in with all of the dogs (and people) there. It's a great crowd and super nice folks. Our group easily ordered both corn dogs and tacos and they were both super tasty. Can't wait to visit this place again.

Feels like an old Austin bar. Strong and inexpensive drinks. Only complaint is the the lack of food diversity. Overall this is a great spot though. Fun bars near by too.

Visited Austin for the first time last week. Found South Austin Beer Garden because they have Family Business Beer on draft. We headed there to give it a try. The beer was great. But, we ended up really enjoying the vibes of SAGB and it became a nightly hangout during our trip. It was a great experience. The food trucks there have great food as well which really adds to the experience. Loved this place! If I lived in Austin, I would be a regular here.

Trivia night is sooo fun! The venue and atmosphere is great, the bar staff are a little salty but makes for more entertainment to be honest. Make sure you try their frozen margaritas.

I went to a really cool car meet there, the parking was a little tight but we made it work. I got to see a lot of really cool cars. The beer garden itself is really cool the bar is inside and then they have food trucks out back. I'm definitely going back to the next car meet they have.

Attentive and very friendly service at the bar, great beer selection, outdoors and very open for pandemic safety. We had a taste of the bbq (brisket) and it seemed top tier (you know, slow oak smoked, nice bark, extremely tender) but regrettably I have to knock a star off the overall rating because they served the brisket in queso that was the same canned queso "product" you'd find at your local ballpark or county fair. Sure, it was good... in the same way Dom Perigon champagne would be good in a sunny-d mimosa. Overall, I'd recommend and would definitely come back.

Great large patio area!! Definitely needs fans and misters under the new roof. Food trailer is horrible!! We got Tejas Nachos with shredded beef !! Ugh it’s Fritos, Shredded beef that tasted like fully cooked shredded beef they bought it at a grocery store, cheese onion !! $12.99 plus tip !! Not worth it.

We have loved visiting SABG and enjoy the variety of beverages available! We visited on a Sunday afternoon to watch some football since it was a nice day outside and sat on the covered patio so we could see the TVs. Just about every other guest was smoking under the covered patio, which really made it really stuffy for us, so we left. It’s not their fault that there were so many smokers, but it did affect the atmosphere.

I ordered a few local brews like a Celis White, for example, and really enjoyed the ambiance there. It would have been better if there was more shade. My friend, who's been there before, said there's usually umbrellas on each outside table. The day I went they didn't have them out.

I most definitely enjoy it here! Totally love the outdoor vibe and the two food trucks with BBQ and tacos, great menus! I went once and they were smoking a whole cow! Totally awesome! They also have a bunch of seating and most definitely parking! Plus it's the first bar on the bottom to start the bar hop up Manchaca. There is about five more bars down the road in walking distance imo. Have fun!

In my Canadian "woke" days I would have been outraged that the food was served on Styrofoam containers. LOL. We really loved going to this place. The have a large deck and outdoor seating, we visited on a very cold day so we had to sit inside, which is also a very nice cozy dining area and bar. The tap and drinks selection is huge and the bartender and server were super nice, helpful and friendly. We had the Jalapeno Mac n' Cheese and the Ribs with side of coleslaw and cucumber salad. Everything was very tasty and the portions large. I would definitely recommend to visit in the summertime. Pet and kids friendly there is Golden Tee live machine too among other games.

Went for the recent ufc fight. Great place to catch the fight - packed to the gills. Not the best place for kids, just not built for it. Bringing your own lawn chairs in fight days is a good move I saw some people do when all seats were taken. Wife and I both got pretty sick from the brisket - can’t say I recommend that. Atmosphere for the fight is 5/5. Food is 3/5 Drinks are good

The food from the burger truck is ALL frozen food. We stood at the window for about 7 minutes while we were ignored. He was literally facing us and preparing food and couldn't even say I'll be right with you. Although the food truck is not the actual beer garden, they are a reflection on the service you receive there. The Mexican food truck doesn't have a menu on the truck you ordered through a QR code. The food we got from there was fresh and tasted fantastic. The service at the bar was blah, nothing to spectacular but overall just ok. The atmosphere was cool as we got to watch the fight. Overall I'd rate it a 3.5.

I love how Texas mix with Austin this place gives. Definitely has very chill and relaxing vibes. I love that you can sit here with friends and drink either inside or in their outside area. I think it’s also really cool how people are able to bring their fur babies to come hang out. I have to say that I ordered a bloody Mary from this place and I was at a loss for words, it was so good. Definitely one of my guilty pleasures coming here!

Good selection of beer, but we were being ignored at the outside bar as there was a group of near drunk dudes that the bartender no doubt saw dollar signs in; so can't really blame him for not wanting to come to us. Bartender inside was good tho. Food trailer was pretty good tho kinda expensive

Cool spot, lots of TV's for checking out games. Nice patio area with plenty of seating for hanging out. Just don't understand the drink pricing at all, $9 for an IPA!? That's high even for downtown Austin pricing and SABG is 10 miles south of downtown, don't get it at all.

The food truck is amazing and there is a huge selection of beer 🍻 and surprisingly really clean restrooms. The biggest down side that brings my review down the parking situation. Half the parking is paved but the other half is dirt and rocks which is pretty normal in Austin but in this case the divider is slightly elevated so it feels like your driving over a curb to get to the dirt section. So if you have a low to the ground car you will feel it 😣

I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to my house. To be honest, i walked in and was greeted by a cold bartender who told me i wasn't allowed to eat my subway since they had a food truck present. Ok, fine. 5 minutes goes by, and someone walks in with Taco Cabana who is told nothing. Then, as i was trying to pay and leave, i was charged full price despite a very clearly stated "happy hour: $1 off draft beers 12pm-7pm M-F" sign. Maybe I did something wrong, but I really don't see how...

Location was nice. They have food trucks here too… However I paid way too much for 2 shots and a beer. $52.00 not to mention the tip. I ordered a shot that ranges $8-10 at most at any other bar / restaurant

No beer menu, bar tender took my beer while I was sampling another and it was $15 for two pints. Think I’ll stick with Woodrow’s next time

I like the place and the atmosphere but it's really annoying when every time I go I see the same bartender and he always hits on me even after I told him I had a boyfriend and when I stopped acknowledging him he kept trying to talk to me. Very annoying and the first time I ever went he was very drunk. I've been at least 4 times now and he hasn't been drunk from what I could tell after the first time but still clearly doesn't get the hint that I dont like him.

Good selection, though the beer wasn’t very cold. Unfortunately the restrooms have obviously not been cleaned in weeks, if not longer. There are red scum rings in every toilet, dirty seats, dirty sinks, etc. It makes me question the hygiene practices throughout the establishment.

The taco truck is amazing! Parking is less than optimal unless you get lucky. Management makes inconsistent decisions with regard to which tv’s play which game if you have reserved tables. Not the greatest placement of tvs with regard to glare and the beautiful Texas setting sun.

Wanted to try this place out and came through with my buddy right out of the bat we walked up and the bouncers that checked the ID and whatnot kind of walked up to us like super unfriendly and we were like trying to figure out why they did it like that after they checked ID they became friendly which was weird though the whole interaction was not pleasant. Restrooms were decently clean. Just kind of a track to get to but not that bad. I didn't get to try all the food in the area I tried the pizza it was decent. Overall though my experience there wasn't great I feel like the bartenders weren't all friendly I get you don't have to be but at the same time it's also customer service. I may go again but I'm not sure.

Usually like this place for a beer and a hang, however tried getting some friends together this evening to have a living wake for my dog who has a brain tumor and was told to leave by bartenders who said my sick dog was a "bad look". Quite discompassionate and disappointing for a place I used to like. Won't be coming back

The service was not friendly. When entering we were not greeted and given it was our first time there, we figured out on our own that we order online. Also to mention, there was one other person in the establishment so it was not busy. When drinks and food were delivered, not a word was said by the server. The food and drinks are below average. The lemonade is margarita mix and coke from the tap is not fresh. This place must do well for their night life/bar vibe because lunch was not it.

The guy with the tats and gauges was not friendly and made multiple rude comments about us trying to entertain our children while we tried to enjoy a beer. It made us feel uncomfortable and stressed, and NOT welcome. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WE KNOW.

Went today and the lady bartender took my order and very professional. When I ask the male bartender to close my tab, he informed me that I needed to order food because they’re operating as restaurant! I said to please tell me where do you have a post that I need to order food? He couldn’t find it and he informed me that whoever took my order should have told me. I said ok, it was her and she never mentioned anything to me about food! I said to him that I have been sitting here for at least hour and you haven’t ask everyone to order food after they closed their tab and I know they didn’t order food! So, no I will not order BBQ or chips and to just closed my tab! I will never go back again- idiot!

Went there after the great reviews. Alas, our experience wasn't in line with others. The beer wasnt cold. But even more troublesome was the IPA had a weird smell, like some unclean water had gotten mixed with it and the Guinness.....well I don't know what to say apart from "watered down" Left both of the glasses there. Paying $16 for two beers we could t even drink. Oh well..... Won't be coming back

We REALLY really wanted to like this place. We just took the whole family to celebrate Father's Day with a beer & BBQ. No one was in the outdoor area, so we grabbed a round and let the kids run free. Wonderful! Except then a bartender informed us there's lots of broken glass, so don't let the kids crawl on the ground. Done! We informed our children.. 5, 7 & 9 years old. They complied! Even better! Well then my husband moved the Connect game board. 😱 Same bartender starts making passive-aggressive comments about how we shouldn't be re-arranging his bar. And then kept going. All in all, know that no kids are welcome here. Despite the outdoor, fun atmosphere with seesaws. Even if there are no other customers, SABG would prefer no customers over your children being there.

Was excited to come and hang out, watch games etc as I just moved back to this part of Austin. Was just there and was enjoying a drink. An uber eats driver came to the bar to pick up an order. She was very nice but couldn't speak English. The bartender pointed her to the very good food truck then proceeds to tell me "Well Trump is going to have her out of here in two weeks." If this is the type of attitude bartender have here then I will not be coming back and letting all my friends in Austin know. *** I don't know his name but he was at the outside bar and closed me out a few mins before the review my username is my real name***

Went to visit my sister in Texas and decided to come here because it was close and looked fun! But no. Service was so bad. Bartender was creepy, kicked us out because my sisters friend rejected him. Bartender was focused on taking shots before serving us.

bartenders and management are awful. the beer wasn’t cold and staff doesn’t care at all. bartenders were more concerned with taking shots than serving customers, and when they do finally let you order they are so rude. worst service i’ve ever received. just overall super uncomfortable environment and hard to enjoy myself because the staff had such bad attitudes.

The bartender by the pickle ball courts could have been friendlier and the rap they were blasting was awful, I have no issue with rap but this was so bad and so loud, I think the guy sitting at the bar picked it cause he seemed to be the only person enjoying it. Maybe it was a slow off night but we visited Friday night and the place was DEAD, we were 2 of about 20 guests. The best thing about the place was all the seating. The restrooms could be better kept.
