Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Avon, IN

Lovely night out! Met friends for dinner and wine. Our only mistake was coming on the last day of the month and the place was packed with wine club members squeezing in their wine tasting before the end of the month. It kind of crushed the atmosphere experience for us because it was so loud and crowded. Otherwise it was a perfect night out. Feedback here would be to stagger the monthly wine tasting deadline to match sign-up dates (ex: if you signed up on 7/14/2024, your monthly wine tasting deadline is the 14th of the month). Our servers were amazing. The food was superb. Kitchen crew put a lot of detail on our plates. The BOH & FOH staff were slammed but delivered excellent championship-level fine dining service. Not a great place to bring little kids. This is a perfect date night out for wine tasting, though. Hire a sitter and leave your littles at home so you can relax in this adult-centered venue!

Had dinner at Cooper’s Hawk in Avon and it was a bit of a mixed bag. I got the Italian sausage and burrata flatbread—looked great, but the flavor didn’t quite live up to the hype. What did steal the show were the wasabi mashed potatoes. So creamy with just the right amount of kick—definitely a must-try. Huge shoutout to our server for recommending the lemon cake dessert special with blueberry topping. It was amazing. Warm, light, sweet, and tangy all at once. I’d honestly come back just for the dessert and those mashed potatoes!

Cooper's Hawk is hands down one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had anywhere, let alone in Avon. I was absolutely blown away by the entire experience. We had a reservation and got there 15 minutes early, and the friendly staff wisked us away to the bar for samples of their fantastic wines. Our food was top notch fantastic. It was better than anything i have had in a looong time. The service at this restaurant is wonderful. Our waitress was polite, prompt, and attentive. To be honest, we ordered quite a bit: appetizer, entrees, glass of wine, and deserts and the price was reasonable, in my opinion. For the quality and freshness of the food, we were pretty comfortable with our final bill.

Wine Club: My husband and I come here about once a month for our wine tasting (wine club) date night. If you join the 2 bottle wine club, you get 2 free wine tastings per month ($20 value) and your choice of 2 bottles of wine every month. If you don't pick them up each month, they just stack up. It's nice not to lose them because if you're like me, you forget to stop in and get them. We usually leave a couple of bottles there so we can have them with dinner when we stop in with friends/family. The atmosphere is great, and you won't be disappointed in the wine tasting. It gets us pretty tipsy, and then we just have dinner to sober up to drive home 🤣 Attire: You don't need to worry about dressing up. We've stopped in before with a t-shirt and jeans with no issues. Depending on when you go, it can get pretty crowded. If you're gonna do the wine tasting & dinner, I suggest making reservations first for dinner. The wine tasting is walk-in only. Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before your dinner reservations to do the tasting. Just check in with the hostess when you arrive and let them know you're tasting before dinner. They'll check you in 😊 Service: I've experienced the good and the not great here. It honestly just depends on who you get. When seated inside, we've always had great service. When we've opted to sit on the patio, our service is never that great. Food: I'm a creature of habit, so I usually get the same thing. Country Rigatoni is my go-to. I highly recommend it. My husband usually gets the filet mignon, and I can attest that it is phenomenal, too. The pretzel bread they serve you is my favorite, though 🙌 Overall, you can't go wrong with this place, and I would recommend it and have recommended it to many.

Had a great dinner here with family. Went with the veggie enchiladas which were fantastic (there are three solid vegetarian choices on the menu if that’s your thing). Not pictured: key lime pie we got to go which was to die for. Our waiter was great, but I simply can’t remember his name. We had a reservation so we got two free wine tastings before we were seated in the tasting area. A couple of atmosphere things… it’s very loud here and I feel the table are small and too close to each other. We had some trouble talking and hearing each other in the dining area. We are thin people and I felt the four-top (not a booth) was tight. We did go on a Saturday night and it was very busy. Get a reservation for sure.

Service was fantastic! This is after two times previous trying to get in. Both times, "Do you have a reservation?" Unfortunately, I didn't. Today I went in at lunch and day at the bar. Great conversation with the bartender. Very enlightening. He had recommended a meal which was different than I chose. Today, for me, it was jambalaya. At first I want so sure. The portion more than meet expectations. The flavor was delicious! Where I was a bit confused it's the heat. It took a couple bites then the heat came. This meal was the perfect heart for most people. Now for the Coup de grace. Pretzel Bread. And I'm not a big bread eater. I ordered it twice. Very very good. All in all I had a great experience. Try it out. I'm sure you will like.

Amy is amazing!!! Her service was so great! It's our anniversary and she made it such a special night! Our food was amazing as was the ice lux wine and the sangria flight. And the free glass Amy brought for our anniversary. If you come before 5:30 the flight is a happy hour option. We had the pistachio grouper and the surf and turf with Parmesan crusted medallions and ahi tuna. All amazing! We were also given two truffles as well in celebration. What a wonderful place! ☺️🎉🥂

Great menu, excellent food, wonderful wine, good service, and reasonable prices. The menu might seem overwhelming, but it is grouped by your interest...low calorie, vegetarian, lower price, etc. Everything I have tried has been really good. This location is very clean and has great parking as well as a very friendly staff. Overall this is a great place, and is a really good value for lunch when you can try smaller portions at lower prices but still get the great menu items.

Absolutely love this place! The wine is very good and I enjoy how they showcase different varietals, regions and countries in their wine of the month. They offer sweet wines and tastings if dries aren't your thing. The cuisine in the restaurant is incredible. I've never had anything even remotely bad and their cocktails and desserts are also super good. You can't go wrong here with anything you get. Highly recommend!

Very clean, the staff were very friendly. You get 2 free wine tastings every time you dine. Which is nice if you want to try something new but aren't sure if you will like it. The truffles were so good.

Service was great all my items came out burned see detailed review on yelp I'll attach my photos here I was told it was normal but everyone else's pictures of dinner don't looked burned black like mine. UPDATE - went back and tried same dishes plus braised short ribs the experience was completely different day and night I also got images of my food to show the quality difference as well. I'm very glad I tried them out one more time. The newer photos show the food not burned to a crisp.

Had heard lots of good things and finally got to experience it for myself. The reports were true and I was not disappointed. The feel is upscale but not snooty. Classy yet casual. The menu is broad and covers just about any craving. I had pistachio crusted grouper with mashed potatoes and asparagus for the entree, brussel sprouts and southwest egg rolls for apps. It was all delicious and well cooked and presentation was appealing. Overall I enjoyed every aspect of the visit from atmosphere to food and drinks and even their wine club. They have a tasting room if you'd like to try their wine and the wine club shows you different quality and quantity of bottles that you can have delivered, pick up at three location, or even use one while you eat dinner. I had a glass of their chardonnay with the grouper and it was delicious. I joined the wine club and will definitely be a regular attendee.

Absolutely amazing food!!! Also the wine was very tasteful! The service started out great, but as it got busier the service wasn't real good. But overall it was a pleasant experience! The atmosphere is very good and it feels like a very fancy restaurant! Kinda expensive but you definitely get what you pay for! Appetizer, entre, and dessert all hit!! Very yummy! 11/10 I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

My husband and I go here often. We are Wine Club members too. 5 Stars every time. Last night was my husband’s birthday and Frances was our server. She was so sweet and made our experience special. Highly recommend!

This is a great concept to have wine tasting available before you enjoy your meal. So many delicious wines to enjoy! Alex was our sommelier. He was very knowledgeable of every wine variety. The food was delicious. We started with roasted Brussels sprouts. Prepared just right! The pretzel bread was warm and tasty! We enjoyed the Salmon with Asian slaw and wasabi mashed potatoes with plenty of butter. We also had the pretzel crusted pork chops with Betty’s potatoes (Au gratin with panko topping and roasted vegetables. We ended with a tasting of dessert wines. Lots of dessert choices but no room in our tummies! This is a must go if you love wine 🍷.

Ohhh we'll definitely be back! Excellent service, amazing food and even tried a few wines. Wife had the Parmesan crusted Mahi and I had crab stuffed lobster with filet medallions with winter truffles. Salted Carmel Crème brûlée and chocolate cake. Some truffles to go too!

What a great experience! The wine and dine place to be in Avon. We had pretzel crusted Mahi Mahi and braised short rib risotto. The menu shows a wine that pairs well with your meal. The Brussels sprouts are what they are known for, but the pot stickers were a great touch as well. The meals are all fresh, and the staff is extremely kind and wants you to have a great experience. If you haven't tried this place and are around, do it! It is costly, but you will definitely get the bang for your buck. Our meal was around 150 dollars for an appetizer 5 drinks, and the two main courses. Portions are a good size as well.

Really YUMMY food! We went on Thanksgiving for the special meal! We booked the reservation and still waited a bit! But the restaurant is super cool so you have things you can see while you wait. Definitely recommend more places to sit for those who cannot stand as long. Our server was very nice and on top of the table! There was a yummy free bread. The salmon and chocolate cake was DELICIOUS. Definitely recommend for a nice fancy dinner! Parking was not too bad to find since its a larger lot.

Visited with my family for the first time on Valentine's Day. The service was great, all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! Restrooms are very clean. We will definitely be returning soon.

My wife and I love coming to Cooper’s Hawk for date nights. The food and drinks are always excellent, and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. Service can run a little slow during peak times in the dining room, but we’ve found the bar area usually offers a quicker turnaround. Either way, it’s always a great experience!

Upscale, contemporary place where you can dress up or go casual. Staff was friendly and prompt. We went for Thanksgiving and got the Thanksgiving menu but you could order off the menu and they let me change my dessert because I didn't like pumpkin or nuts. The Thanksgiving menu was a deal. The drinks were expensive..4.99 for a soda and I got the raspberry lemonade and it was disgusting- don't get that. It was undrinkable but everything else was lovely. The Thansgiving menu started with free pretzel bread... very good. Butternut squash soup-ok. Turkey, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, green beans and carrots, a cranberry sauce. We didn't love the cranberry sauce. It had a strong bite to it but loved the stuffing, potatoes, etc. The turkey was very moist. The one other thing they could have done slightly better is the food wasn't hot. It was warm. But, we still really enjoyed our meal. All the staff were on point and took working on the holiday with smiles. I hope they made bank.

From the staff, to the food everything was perfect. I had a solo valentines date and I had a ratatouille moment with the seasonal arancini. Julie was sweet as a server, management was attentive, and the wine tasting server (with purple hair) WAS ON HER GAME. Best Cooper’s hawk I’ve been too (out of IN, OH, & IL).

The service and food were far more exemplary than expected. I went for lunch with friends for a tasting via their membership perks and experienced kind, and complementary service that I honestly haven’t experienced at a chain restaurant in a long time! It honestly made me want to sign up! The vibe was perfect and it felt like I was a VIP. I will definitely be back! Also, be sure to try their newest strawberry dessert, it was delicious!

First time there . Our waitress Barbie was awesome. Our appetizer was drunk and shrimp, and it was amazing. I had salmon with ginger butter potatoes very good.my wife had a tenderloin medallion with potatoes and broccoli, and very good. I can't say enough about our waitress, Barbie. She was so nice and helpful.

Coopers Hawk Avon is incredible and so is everyone that works there. They always have a great and welcoming environment. Food is outstanding and if something is not right they make sure to fix it for you. Everything they serve they make from scratch. The people that work the bar are the absolute BEST: Joe, Jake, Micah. The servers are always very kind. They have an incredible wine tasting area. The wine dinners are a MUST! The food is usually not on the menu and when it is they make a spin off. It is worth every penny. Finally- the managers Nicole, Jordan, and Eric are always on top of everything making sire everyone gets the experience they deserve. In addition to Michael who always has a smile and a kind comment when he sees you!

I’ve eaten and sipped my way through a lot of high-end restaurants and wineries, but Cooper’s Hawk still tops my list. Even though I live an hour and a half away, I’m a wine club member because it’s that good. The food, wine, and overall experience are unbeatable. The complimentary pretzel bread is addictive, the bruschetta is always fresh and flavorful, and the trio medallions? Perfection every time. I’ve yet to have a bad glass of wine here — and I’ve sampled plenty of varieties from all over the country. It’s the perfect balance of classy and comfortable, and honestly, I’d drive twice as far for it.

Coopers hawk is one of our favorite places to go. Very good food for the price. Whatever you get get the Betty's potatos. It's a small upcharge but it is very worth it.

Had a stellar experience, as is the norm. Food was great quality, and as we always say we’ve never had a bad meal at this Cooper’s Hawk. Visit frequently and always have a great time, and great service. Had Jess as our server again this time, and once again she delivered exemplary service. Was actually told that we may be a little slow to first contact because our server had just been sat with a large table, but Jess stopped by within a minute or two and was quick to return with waters and wine to get us going. The food and experience is always great, heightened by the great service provided by Jess - makes a good outing great!

Never have a bad meal or service here, whether it's their low-cal life-balance food all the way to their rich spaghetti and meatballs. Service is always attentive and reliable. Atmosphere could use some warming up. Thought that from the beginning. I understand wanting to move tables quickly, but this is way too stark for a winery/restaurant, even in the private space in the back.

I've never had Coopers Hawk but after yesterday it may become my favorite place. The restaurant I work with suddenly closed this week and there are no relocation plans in place for any of the employees. While we are loading trucks and closing down, in walks a gentleman with Cooper's Hawk offering his condolences but also letting our employees know they are hiring. That is what it is all about. Looking out for people and offering a hand to get back up. That action alone restored a little bit of my faith back in into the restaurant world. Thank you for that moment. It lifted all of our spirits when we needed it most.

It's pricey, but pretty good. I cannot say anything about the wine "club", as we did not opt for that on this trip. We met friends at midday for appetizers and wine flights, and we shared things around and got tastes of everything. We had a great time and we all enjoyed everything we tried.

Cooper's Hawk is the place to be! We dined in recently fir my husband's birthday. We had a ball! The food was great. The atmosphere was a delight and our server, Alexis entertained and took very good care of us. Oh, the wine was AMAZING!

What a wonderful experience. My bf and I ended up with canceled plans and got to our reservation way earlier than expected, the host was very accommodating and got us in as early as they could. While we waited we did the wine tasting which was phenomenal, they had an amazing selection and some really good recommendations. I ended up signing up for the wine club membership before the end of our tasting. Our server, shout out to Mariah was amazing, she went above and beyond to insure we had a great experience even though they were super packed. The food was incredible, cooked to perfection and the flavor was fantastic. All in all we will be back every month and not just for my free monthly wines with the membership.

Decided to randomly stop for dinner mid week as we were passing through. It was early in the evening and they weren’t busy yet. We were quickly seated, our server took a bit to get to our table. Drinks were ordered had to wait a bit for lemonade (because it comes from the bar? ) Server seemed off, was quite forgetful and would pass our table often without checking on us. Food Braised Short Rib Risotto 7/10 good flavor lots of mushrooms, the meat was more fatty than I would have liked Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon 10/10 great flavor, perfectly cooked Baked Parmesan Shrimp Scampi 8/10 great flavor, hate fighting tails in a pasta dish When we were finished I had to track down the server to ask for our bill and a box. She came back with an empty envelope with no bill, eventually we received our bill, paid and left. All in all I would definitely return for the food, the service was lackluster at best. I don’t know if it was how we were dressed that it was assumed we shouldn’t/couldn’t be there or what.

Pretty good experience for Valentine’s Day with my wife. It was definitely pricey. I had a reservation but still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated The chocolate cake was good

First time going, we had a wonderful waitress named Jessica. She was very attentive, has great customer service and very knowledgeable of the products. The food was fresh and delicious. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.***Update 11/6/2025*** Second time going was definitely a different experience from the first time. The waitress smelled like a pack of cigarettes and she would reach over the table to grab things that were still being used. The steak was not fresh and the quality was of a generic steak. Incorrect wine was brought but at that point there was no sense in complaining over 100 dollars later. I was just ready to go. Money wasted, not sure if I would come back.

We had made an open table reservation for last night to celebrate our anniversary and made a note of the occasion. We arrived 12 minutes late due to a crash clogging up traffic , and waited 15 minutes with others who were waiting ahead of us. The hostess congratulated us on our anniversary and that was the last we heard of it. Nothing for the server, who otherwise did a good job, no free dessert or anything special. Guess they don't do special occasions?? I was commenting to my husband, who is hard of hearing, that it was nice that the music was quiet. He said he was glad it wasn't as loud and incessant as it was in the lobby. But they keep turning the music up bit by bit as they lowered the lights and it soon became hard to concentrate. Do better please.

So disappointed. We have noticed that the food has steadily declined. Our apps were pretty decent. I had the Ahi Tuna, and the wife had Thai chicken wraps. I wish we had called it a night. Anyway we both got the filet. I had broccoli and asparagus, she had broccoli and roasted vegetables. I ordered my steak medium rare, and she ordered hers medium. It must have been the b-team because both steaks were medium rare, but the outside was charred beyond a sear. It was tough, chewy, burnt on the outside, and raw in the middle. Broccoli was under cooked to my liking, but her roasted vegetables were unrecognizable. Oh well. update: FYI, I emailed as requested by "the owner" and never got a response. update #2: Corporate emailed me and we are going to try again. They are sending me cards for a complementary meal. I will update after this next go round.

I ordered takeout and received excellent service upon my arrival. Unfortunately, my food was underwhelming. The toast that accompanied my meal was a burnt sourdough bun. Hopefully, the restaurant was just out of the normal sourdough bread they use for breakfast though. I’ve ordered breakfast takeout multiple times from here and this was the worst food I’ve received. I’m not sure if my experience today was an anomaly or a recession indicator/a sign of declining quality.

I'm not leaving a 1 star review because of Cooper's Hawk in general, my mother and I are absolute fans! In fact, she is from the Chicago area and became a member there. Now we live in Tennessee and there isn't a Coopers location in the state. So, we drove 4 and a half hours, paid to stay in a hotel for two nights and paid to board our dog, all so that we could go to coopers because my mother has been a long time member and we love it so much. HOWEVER. We have been VERYYYYY disappointed with this location in particular. We just came back home, looked over all of our receipts and bought two and a half cases of wine and brunch with drinks on Saturday 10/18/25, before 2 PM, and DID NOT recieve triple points. (per the email I recieved from Coopers, stating now through Nov 2nd, this special would be in effect.) Prior to this, I asked the ones who were working if they were aware of this and the manager was the ONLY one who was and that it would all be taken care of. Also, we were told that it would take 24 hours for points to show up on the app. So on the way home, my mother periodically checked the app and it STILL is only showing 1 X the points, per our receipts. We need this fixed. Because, again, we spent all of this time and money just for the benefits that my mother was promised to not be rewarded. Either way, corporate will be spoken to. Also, I would appreciate accurate information on when points/rewards expire, and overall how to get the most out of our membership since, we are out of state. It's extremely frustruating when we are told one thing and then lose out completely.
