The fish was impressively fresh—so fresh that it felt like they were cooked with sashimi-grade quality fish. Sorry the photos are a bit dark. We were seated outside in the beautiful patio area filled with warm--not hot--overhead heaters. The charbroiled oyster felt plump, which tells me it had never been frozen. In my experience, freezing oysters turn them mushy and gritty once cooked. But this one had that perfect soft snap you only get from fresh shellfish. The crab cakes were solid too. You could actually taste the sweet, briny flavor of real crab rather than the filler that some places sneak in. The sauce tasted surprisingly like lobster bisque—rich, buttery, a little smoky even. It complemented the crab without overpowering it, which made the whole thing feel a bit fancier than your average crab cake appetizer. The rockfish was delicious. The texture was tender but still had that flaky firmness that shows it was cooked just right, not overdone. It had a clean, almost ocean-sweet flavor, which again comes down to freshness and good handling. I also liked how the restaurant listed the fish origins on their daily catch menu. It adds a layer of trust—you can tell they care about transparency and sourcing, which probably explains why everything tasted so vibrant and pure. It’s nice when the menu reads like a short story from the sea instead of a mystery. Sorry fellow beer enthusiasts: it's a no for me on the beer menu.
Very nice dining experience. My wife and I were greeted right away and seated. I had the fish and chips. They were good. I only wish they had steak cut fries, but they were still very good. My wife had the tequila lime shrimp pasta, and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and made to order. I had an old fashion to drink and it was made perfect. I highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.
A wonderful place for lunch or dinner. They even offer a beautiful private room for special occasions, which makes it perfect for celebrations. The food is exceptional, especially the high-quality seafood. Everything is fresh and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself is stunning, spotless, and has such a warm, family-friendly ambiance. And if you’re lucky enough to have Edgar as your waiter, you’ve truly hit the jackpot. I haven’t seen service this outstanding in a long time. He’s energetic, professional, genuinely kind, and incredibly patient, always with a warm smile. Highly recommend this restaurant. Five stars, without a doubt. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent food and service. Love dinning on their beautiful patio for a great ambiance. We had a large party and our guest came at in a different times, the waitress was wonderful and accommodating.

Absolutely a wonderful Restaurants. Restaurants lay out, service, wide selection of wine ,hard liquor, various mixtures drinks, fresh seafood organic salad, artisans cocktails, food quality high standards, great location, overall everything makes a very welcoming, enjoyable environment to enjoy your lunch, dinner and breakfast .Don't miss the happy hrs, simply amazing place where you can enjoy with friends and family.
If it's fresh seafood you're looking for with nice cozy vibes, this is the go-to place! The decor and ambience evokes a beachy seaside feel. Lots of natural lighting. The food here is really fresh and delicious! Our server gave us the specials and recommendations (and a complimentary Chocolate Sundae for dessert!). We had the Anacapa Seafood Tower with ceviche, ponzu ahi tuna, shrimp cocktail and 3 oysters for starters. I had the server-recommended Ono with mango salsa. It came with a choice of two sides. I chose pineapple coleslaw and the newly introduced almond pesto cauliflower. I wasn't a big fan of the pineapple coleslaw (a tad bit dry) but the almond pesto cauliflower was amazing! The Ono was seared perfectly at the edges. So fresh and zesty with the mango salsa. Highly recommended!
This was my first time back at Lure Fish House since Covid, and it felt so good to return. I’ve always loved the ambiance of the restaurant, especially the sea and ocean-themed decor. The fish decorations, in particular, bring me so much joy. I usually go with my favorite, the fish and chips, but today I decided to try the Lobster Roll. It was a pleasant surprise. You get to choose one side, and of course I picked their fries, which pair perfectly with the roll. For my drink, I ordered an Arnold Palmer. The flavors matched the meal beautifully, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The service can sometimes be a bit slow since they get very busy, but the staff truly does their best, and I really respect and appreciate that.
The great: the Sand Dab entree, shrimp app, the service and atmosphere. Fish and chips and add 🍤! The good: Brussels sprouts (great flavor, texture one note/ too soft), Calamari was great too, just add more fried peppers. Oh, and the pineapple slaw surprised to the upside 😂 Recommendation: take the shrimp appetizer and make a po boy sandwich out of it. It would be a best seller. Take those shrimp, thinly shredded lettuce, tomato slices, pickles on really good French bread. Game over.
Great gem right in the valley. It's so great to have the new shopping center at Porter Ranch and Lure is an excellent location. Great views from the large windows, relaxing and comfortable decor. The staff is very friendly and attentive and did an amazing job during our visit. The Lure name is accurate because there are a ton of delicious menu items from the sea, and they sure realed me for an amazing dining experience. I wanted to try everything on the menu because they have a lot of great selections, all presented so well. We went with a dozen oysters, great selections from Baja to Nova Scotia, warm sourdough bread, the Lure Cioppono soup, and the spicy Tequila Lime Shrimp. We finished with the pumpkin basque cheesecake and an a-mazing espresso martini. Thank you. Keep up the amazing work! See you next time.
A very special place to enjoy a well prepped meal. Started with incredibly friendly service. Continued with hospitality and offers of off menu items to assist one of us who does not eat seafood. We ordered a lobster roll and spicy hot honey chicken sandwich. Both were equally delicious! The cost of the chicken sandwich was very affordable compared to the ample size. Very satisfying meal and highly recommend trying this restaurant.
Love this place. I usually go to the one in Ventura just for the atmosphere, but this location is closer. Food was awesome as always. Service this time was lacking. Our server did evening, not one person STANDING around helped at all. We sat ourselves near the bar area while others were being seated in the same section. No menu or silverware was given or attention to us. I wish I had remembered his name but he was great and very attentive, I give him ALONE 5 stars, but the restaurant 3. I will still come back because the food is awesome especially the charbroiled oysters and a good spread of Happy Hour.
First time at their Porter Ranch location. There is plenty of parking and will experience a wait time depending on the time of your visit. The service was excellent, from the host who greeted us to our server, they were all great. We got 2 appetizers, their loue salad and one of their fish plates. We got so full with their addicting sourdough bread and whipped butter that we barely touched our meals. Also tried their berry mule which was perfect a summer day! We also learned they'll be starting happy hour tomorrow, $2 off cocktails, not bad. My highlights were definitely their service and their sourdough bread!!!!
We decided to return after more than a year of not going, because of a bad experience with costumer service. I sat in a different spot altogether to make sure I didn't get the same server. We were there for happy hour so sat right on the bar side, where they are preparing food. Everything was going great until Michael left and a the next guy stepped in. Our new server didn't bother to check in with us to see if we needed anything. I had to get his attention to take my order. With the last drink ordered it was taking a while (about 15 minutes), I mentioned it to him, not disrespectfully, just a little reminder that I had ordered another drink. His response, "I am not the bartender." How does one talk to costumers that way? It has left a stain on such a wonderful place and am not eager to returning any time soon.
I love Lure! Their food is delicious and the drinks are outstanding. I come here often! That being said, PLEASE double and triple check your receipts especially if you’re visiting for happy hour. I was here a few weeks ago during happy hour and my server at the oyster bar charged me $17.50 for my cocktail. $17.50 isn’t even a price that exists. The regular cocktail price was $14, on happy hour it should have cost $12. He apologized, fixed it, and chalked it up to him being busy/overwhelmed. Well, sadly I was here recently again and once again I was overcharged during happy hour. Once is understandable, more than once is concerning. I will keep going, but I’ll watch my receipts closely. I believe the standard of service and consistency at this location could be improved.
So, we went to Lure Fish in Porter Ranch earlier. Well, it was last night at 9:36 PM on September 12, 2025. It is now September 13, 2025, around 12:26 AM as I am typing this. The food was okay, and our waitress was nice and friendly. But our only issue, which I actually thought was kind of funny, was with the cheesecake. We ordered a slice, and part of it was missing. The tip of the slice, about an inch or so, was just gone. My wife noticed it and said it was not right to serve cheesecake like that, since the slice looked incomplete. It was missing the tip, like a piece had broken off or something. So we told our waitress. When she came back, she said they had found the little piece of cheesecake and added it back to the slice. That actually made it even funnier. If Lure is supposed to be a high-end restaurant, could they not have just given us a complete slice? Maybe a new one? Instead, they found the missing tip and just added it back to the cheesecake. It was funny to us. I do not know if that was the right or wrong way to handle it, but if I were running a nice restaurant like Lure Fish, I would have brought out a new slice of cheesecake instead of finding the missing piece and putting it back. As for me, I was okay with it and did not really care, but my wife said she was going to complain. And yet, here I am, the one writing a review. It actually made us laugh a little. Still, because of it, it did affect the amount of tip I gave to our waitress. Also, we come to this restaurant often and we live in the Porter Ranch area.
Overall experience was just ok. Quite disappointed because I expected a lot more from this place. Food 2.5-3/5 at best. Presentation on their food was good, attractive. However, that's as good as it got. Shrimp appetizer had hair on it. Ceviche was tasty. Tortilla chips were a creative touch, though I wish they gave a bigger serving. Ciopinno and Sea bass (featured menu) were very disappointing. Taste wise, they were seasoned right Unfortunately, the fishes and the shrimp were overcooked. Shrimp was rubbery, and hard instead of being juicy. The fishes were extremely dry, instead of being plump and soft. Think reheated from last night kind of overcooked. It was absolutely a waste. Especially for a seafood restaurant, I expected to be wowed with very well seasoned and perfectly cooked seafood. It's very disappointing and unfortunate to have a nice restaurant but fail on the food. Having grown up on an island, I'm very familiar with how perfectly cooked seafood should taste like. This place absolutely failed to deliver. Ambiance 4.5/5 The place is huge. The decor is nice and inviting. Love the theme. Service 4/5 The server was pleasant, though she could have paid more attention to basics like refilling water.
I've been to Lure before, both this location and others. This meal though was enough to make me never go back. From odd bar seating, to confusing menus, very loud atmosphere, very softspoken wait staff, to meals sitting, waiting to be taken to their respective customers- just weird and disjointed. It would have been understandable if this was the first day of business. The seats we chose happened to be right next to where oysters and the like were handed from the kitchen to front of the house. I watched a plate of poke sit there for 10+ minutes, warming up. I watched a tray of grilled oysters sit on the counter, getting cold, for a full 15 min before being taken to the customer. My waiter had to try to prove to me that there are fish tacos on the menu, but he also could not find them. I was able to order the tacos regardless. Numerous tables were in need off clearing and while there was no one who could do this there was an employee who was tasked with wiping down all of the extra condiment bottles kept under a counter. The bread and butter was good, my tacos were pretty good, the fish and chips ( the fries were brought out separately from dinner - I had to remind the staff that we were waiting for them and I knew they were ready because I could see them sitting under a heat lamp) were pretty standard fare, the french fries were a waste of time. The fry cups were configured mostly of broken, short pieces of fries. I was told on the way out that the men's bathroom floor was so slippery that a young man had fallen. What the heck was going on last night?
At the Porter Ranch location it was my Daughter and Is first time, Marcus meet us at the front and said to us we can seat whatever we want, turned away and left, food was delicious & the happy hour deals are great. However our server Marcus T. unfortunately had no customer service whatsoever, when we sat down initially we had to wait about 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by him and you know, My sugar was low and I needed A Juice or Bread To normalize my sugar levels, I understand he might've been "busy" but as servers ourself what you do is acknowledge a table and let them know you'll be over. No more than 2 minutes, When he finally decides to come to the table he doesn't introduce himself nor greet us just "you wanna start with something to drink or just two glasses of water" and I'm kinda taken aback usually you expect a server to suggest a happy hour cocktail or some upsell of sort even appz,we proceed to get a juice and a soda after 5 minutes and then he says "have you ever been here before" and we say no and he just proceeds to walk away not even a response or any suggestions on what's good just leaves us be. Further then waited another good 7 minutes for our drinks to hit the table and order to be taken. No sense of customer service whatsoever didn't smile with any tables no bare minimum conversation either, almost as if he's isn't on the clock and we're bugging him. We also had to ask for our own refills, I was waiting for malt vinegar but he never came to check if we needed something else, I was trying to get Managers attention but He was only looking one way when He took someone’s food at the bar, Going back to The Server then only when I called him over he asked ONCE how was everything and same thing when it came down to the check I had to wave him down. Anytime he brought refills or to go boxes even the check didn't say anything would just hold it out waiting for me to take it from him. Super disappointed in his service, at the end of the day his position is customer service to make guests feel welcome and he fails miserably. With his attitude & work ethic we experienced he's better off working in the back where he won't have to deal with customer interactions. p.S He was busy but We noticed he gave Really bad service to everyone eating in the bar We felt bad for them. 😔
