I have tried a lot of Turkish restaurants before but not every restaurant delivers this quality. The food is very tasty and the plate is very harmonious. We had Adana kebab and grilled kebab which were both perfectly cooked. The indoors are very good and the service too. It’s a definitely one of the places to try again.
We enjoyed a work Xmas lunch here this week. Food is amazing, especially the kebabs, with good sized portions. We felt so welcomed and looked after. The complimentary bread and dips are delicious. I am looking forward to my next visit!
Etchi in Hove is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Turkish cuisine. From the moment you walk through the doors, the chic, trendy, and modern decor sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The warm lighting, stylish interiors, and vibrant yet cozy atmosphere create the perfect setting for any occasion, whether it’s a casual meal or a special celebration. The food is absolutely outstanding! Every dish bursts with rich, authentic flavors that transport your taste buds straight to Turkey. The menu offers an excellent variety, catering to all preferences, and each plate is beautifully presented. The lamb kofta melts in your mouth, the mezes are packed with fresh ingredients, and the seafood options are divine. Don’t miss their baklava—it’s the perfect sweet ending to a flawless meal. What truly sets Etchi apart is the impeccable service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making thoughtful recommendations and ensuring your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. Etchi effortlessly combines exceptional food with a lively yet sophisticated ambiance. It’s a must-visit spot in Hove for anyone who appreciates quality dining. Highly recommended—you’ll be planning your next visit before you’ve even left! Five stars all the way.
I like it. Second visit. Coincidentally a Turkish taxi driver took me there. She said it's the best Turkish restaurant outside of North London. I think the one at the bottom of Preston Street on the left as you face the sea is also excellent myself.
Great meal and great service! NEJAT was super friendly and took good care of us. Really enjoyed the food — will come again!
We love it here the experience and the service even tho food as well. Been going here since 2020! And can’t let go we’ve been loyal to this restaurant for 6 years now! And it is the best Turkish restaurant in Brighton.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience. From start to finish, everything was perfect. Ercan went above and beyond with his exceptional service, making us feel truly welcome. We went all out with the delicious, beautifully presented sharing platters. The portions were generous—perfect for our family. Highly recommended!
We had gone for my other half’s birthday! Was his first time trying Turkish food (half Turkish myself had to make him try). He had the most amazing time for his special day, big thank you to the staff that made it so special too! The food was just beautiful. Perfect in every way, we had shared bits around to get a taste of everything and it was cooked to perfection. They had bought a cake out at the end for his birthday which may I say was absolutely stunning. The staff were so attentive and friendly was just such a lovely evening. So big thank you guys <3 What we had… Feta Pide, Kofte, chicken shish and lamb ribs ^^these are highly recommended from us.
Excellent food. Good portion size. Staff went above and beyond, really attentive. NO SERVICE CHARGE!!! brilliant! We always avoid places with service charge and tip our waiter ourselves We found it really hot in there and they turned the heating off for us. Only down side was we were sat on top floor which tables were close together. My chair kept getting kicked and the annoying girl next to us kept flicking her hair over my Mrs food so we had to shift our table over
One of my favourite places in Brighton. Food is absolutely amazing, atmosphere is intimate and just relaxing. I never "raved" about the bowl of rice or salad before, but here the rice has flavour, with chickpeas and seasoning, salad fresh, crisp, with pomegranate seeds - little things that make ALL the difference. Every dish was exceptional - big praise to the chefs. Thank you for the great night.
The food was full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and the service made it even better. I’ll definitely be coming back As someone with coeliac disease, I really appreciated how accommodating they were. They took the time to explain what dishes were gluten-free and made sure I could enjoy my meal safely.
Loved the food and the atmosphere, the setting. All was carefully considered. The food portions are quite large, but they do facilitate takeaway boxes. Would definitely recommend the humus, mixed grill and kunefe as a desert. One of those deserts can be easily shared between 2 people as they are pretty large and quite sweet with the syrup.
Had a spur-of-the-moment meal here a few weeks ago with zero expectations (other than it smelled amazing) and was impressed at every turn. Delicious food - a bit pricy but you absolutely get what you pay for! Large portions but everything perfectly seasoned and some of the best chicken I’ve ever had. The charred vegetables in particular were also very yummy. Despite it looking incredibly busy and not having a reservation we were seated within 5 minutes, barely had to wait to order (we actually asked for more time!) and food arrived very fast. Service beyond professional, efficient and polite. The grill is right in the main dining room and you can watch them cook while waiting for your table or meal. We were also offered free turkish tea at the end of our meal which was absolutely lovely. All in all great experience overall, would definitely come back for a treat!
From the moment myself and my colleagues walked into Etci Kitchen the service was amazing. The staff were so helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were large and I’ve even brought what I couldn’t manage away with me for later. We were given complimentary Turkish coffee and tea at the end of our meal too which was very kind. The atmosphere was relaxing and we didn’t feel rushed to leave after we’d finished.
That was my first time trying Turkish food and I couldn't be more happily surprised ! Everything was delicious from the starter to the dessert (which was free!). I didn't get the chance to eat directly at the restaurant so I've chosen the delivery and it was still amazing. The meat, the rice and the vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Considering the quality of the products and the quantity, the prices are totally justified. I highly recommend this restaurant !
Excellent restaurant experience, can’t recommend this place enough, everything was flawless from service to ambiance to food. Prices very reasonable too if considering the location and the quality and size of the dishes. Definitely will be back very soon
Absolutely delicious! Came here on a busy night with no reservation, but they were able to get me a small table upstairs in the corner. Distancing was well done and lots of cleaning everywhere. Staff weren't wearing masks though. Service was very friendly and speedy here and the food was excellent! Freshly prepared, good traditional Turkish food, one of my favourite cuisines. You'll find all the staples on the menu. I had a beautiful meal, such flavourful and scrumptious food. Definitely recommend this place!
Top tier food. Very good service. The fish was something that reminds me when I'm abroad, that experience of the on the bone fish, dig in and watch out for the bones! They also gave me a little birthday song along with my baklava as a little birthday cake. Felt so welcomed here and the staff are extremely friendly. Highly recommended, Ercan was the waiter and made my evening 10x better. Would definitely be back.
We had a very nice experience here. The kebab was perfectly grilled, some of the best I ever had. The complimentary bread is baked fresh at the restaurant and was very tasty. The place itself is spacious with amazing decors. Also the staff were very helpful and professional.
Great service, very speedy, very knowledgeable about gluten allergies. The only one wish would be to have a separate gluten free fryer so I could have some carbs/ chips with my meal.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Turkish restaurant in Brighton for the second time, and once again, it exceeded my expectations. During my first visit, I ordered the Adana kebab, and the flavors were truly delightful. The spices and tenderness of the meat made it a memorable dish. On my second visit, I opted for lamb with yogurt, and I was absolutely blown away. The combination of flavors was amazing, and it instantly felt like a home-cooked meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant played a significant role in making my dining experience exceptional. It managed to evoke a sense of home, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The service, particularly from Feti, was outstanding. His friendliness and professionalism contributed to making my evening truly enjoyable. I must also highlight the Baklava and tea served at the end of my meal. The Baklava was a sweet delight, and the tea was the perfect way to conclude a fantastic dinner. Overall, my dining experiences at this Turkish restaurant have been consistently superb. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and top-notch service.
Canadian traveller here. Excellent dishes here for a group of people. Beautiful interiors and flooring. Great chef and friendly staff and very welcoming. I would recommend their platter with the mixed meat, the lamb chops, and the shrimp. Their salad is also very delicious and you can tell it’s all very fresh ingredients. Would nightly recommend when visiting Brighton.
The stars for this restaurant is simply limitless and countless. The lamb ribs is the best and tastiest I've had. What about the couscous? The fluffy chocolate cake? Hmmmm In a nutshell, I'm returning to this restaurant next week!
I was craving Turkish food and found this beautiful gem just by chance, prompted by Google Reviews. Upon entry, I was greeted by a warm smile and spoke to Najet, the manager. I asked if I could sit upstairs as it was very busy downstairs. He promptly fit me seated upstairs which had a nice & cosy vibe to it. Both top floors were equally busy - a good sign. I ordered the "Mixed Kebab" (Lamb shish, Chicken shish, Adana kebab, Couscous and Salad). The portion was huge and the meat tender and delicious 😋 👌. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again!
Well isn’t this a hidden gem of a place! The staff were brilliant and made sure we were well looked after. I was expecting “standard” food, but I was very pleasantly surprised - the food is EPIC! I haven’t had food this good in quite a while. It might seem a little expensive, but it’s totally worth it - but be aware, the portions are quite big! Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for somewhere nice to eat. Thank you - I will be back!!
If you’re in Brighton you must visit this restaurant! An authentic modern Turkish cuisine restaurant with a modern twist. High quality starters, grilled meats and fish over a coal fire. Our waiter Neal was very professional, attentive and even entertained us throughout our dinner. Brilliant experience thank you Etci for making our trip to Brighton extra special.
Second visit while in Brighton Excellent friendly service. Actual eye contact from staff. And they smile too! (I know that you'd be forgiven to expect this as standard but so often you go to places now and the service is appalling. But... Not here!!) . Great tasting food. Helpful and attentive team.
Our first time going to Etci and it was amazing! Probably the best Turkish i’ve had in England that compares to the service and food in Turkey itself. Will definitely be coming back!
ETCI Kitchen is a fantastic find in Brighton. Went there for a Sunday family lunch. We especially loved the lahmacun, perfectly spiced chicken wings, juicy Adana köfte and tender lamb shish — all cooked to perfection. To finish, Turkish coffee with baklava was the ideal combination. Warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and generous portions make this one of the best Turkish restaurants in the city. Highly recommended!
Came here for lunch with my mum on my Birthday! Food was amazing as usual but was the first time eating-in instead of ordering, and the service was great! Was about to pay for the food and leave when.. suddenly... someone brought out a cake and everyone started chanting happy birthday! :O This was a great surprise as we didn't order anything or tell the restaurant about it haha. Thank you again for the amazing service, we all really enjoyed it!
Been going to this ETCI with the girlfriend everytime we're in brighton since it was recommended to us by a Turkish friend, great service, great vibes on birthdays, my go to is Lamb shish, with rice, and Carrot slice pistachio ice cream. Meat is 9x out of 10 really good quality. They've got some good cocktails & wine aswell, Free Bread to start and Turkish tea to finish. Cant go wrong at Etci.
Can not fault the staff. They were all friendly & attentive which made us feel very welcome even though they were busy. Delicious food but especially excellent house special lamb kebab dish. Wish I had left room for the baklava. Would definitely dine here again. We were lucky to get in for a table of 2 but would recommend booking in advance.
It is a restaurant that has received high ratings, and we visited it for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience, and the ambiance is pleasant. A diverse selection of cuisine is available, and the staff is exceedingly accommodating. We sampled Lamb Shank, Lamb Chops, and Mitti Köfte. Although I did not perceive it as exceptional, the cuisine was decent. The lamb chops were really nice. My lamb shank was somewhat satisfactory. It was not as delicate or tender as I had experienced in other locations before. It was somewhat chewy. Overall, I found the cuisine to be reasonably satisfactory.
February 25th, 14:00 . I came here after seeing many good reviews. The restaurant has fashionable and upscale atmosphere. I ordered kebabs, cheese pide, Turkish salad, sausages, and more. Finally, I was served Turkish delight for dessert. The salads all had different dressings. I never got bored of them. The lamb kebabs in particular were soft, tender, and juicy. Turkey is the birthplace of yogurt, so the yogurt sauce that accompanied the meal was also delicious.
This is a famous place for delicious meat and we have visited it several times. The kebabs are excellent and the portions are huge. You can choose rice, couscous or salad with your meal. I chose the salad but it was not for me because it was just finely shredded raw vegetables without any dressing or sauce. However, the Turkish wine was great. You must try the desserts too. The three pieces of hot baklava with a scoop of vanilla ice cream were amazing
Great food that is mouth watering yet soft and tender. Packed full of flavour. Amazing and traditional. Service is rubbish and they need to know this. None of them serve with any love for their job and some ignore when called. Some don’t even know the names of the drinks they bring to us. Will we come again? Yes for sure. The food is too good.
In the Turkish language there is a saying 'Büyük lokma ye büyük söz söyleme' this means to Eat a mouthful but don’t make big promises. However, ETCI KITCHEN not only feeds you big portions of their delicious food but keeps their promises on service and ambience as well. This was my first time visiting this Turkish restaurant and as soon as you enter, the open plan kitchen where the fresh meats, salads and bread is being prepared invites you followed by the kind and ever smiling wait staff. I felt valued as a guest and appreciated the honesty and respect which was given to me and my colleagues by everyone who worked there. In terms of seating, there is ample amount of space whether you prefer near the window or a more comfortable and cozy space on the sofa upstairs, it's all good. The way this restaurant has been designed caught my attention as the paint on the wall has a beautiful shimmer to it and the silver panels behind the light makes the light seem brighter yet gives a cozy vibe. I went during lunch hour but I would recommend it for an evening meal to enjoy the ambience thoroughly. In terms of the food - We ordered the following: Vegetarian Pide which was a freshly baked Turkish pizza with cheese, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes and peppers, Beyaz Peynirli Pide which is a freshly baked Turkish pizza with feta cheese, peppers, tomatoes, onion, parsley and egg, Chicken Shish, Chicken Beyti, Tavuk Sarma Beyti and Vegetable Kebab. It was a mid work day hence apart from sparkling water we didn't order any drinks, but their drinks menu is extensive so do check it out. The food was fresh, big portions and the bursting with flavor. My top favorite had to be the Tavuk Sarma Beyti - It's a house special which is Marinated minced chicken seasoned with garlic and herbs, grilled over charcoal, wrapped in bread with cheese, drizzled with butter and topped with tomato sauce, served with yoghurt. Followed by the spinach pide. I have had experiences in the past where minced chicken can be bland and dry but this was flavorful and juicy. I ended up taking some home. The pides were baked to perfection and were similar to the ones I have eaten in Oman and Dubai. For dessert we tried their Künefe and Turkish coffee, as you can see from my extensive review about the mains that dessert was a mere after thought, but I would say definitely keep space as it was the perfect end to the meal. I was extremely satisfied and would recommend this place to anyone who is craving authentic Turkish food. It's located in a walking distance of around 1.1 km from the Brighton station making it a central spot to meet in the city. Ambience: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 4/5 Value for Money: £ £ Would I eat here again? YES, FOR SURE. I do apologize for not getting more photos as my battery died so got a few before that. Hope you enjoyed reading this review and if you do try this place let me know! Cheers.
Wow for was amazing, was rushed to finish started as they were standing behind us with the mains as we are only half way though our starter. The meat was so succulent and tastie. Although being rushed the waiter was friendly and the food perfect. There's not really an atmosphere here, but who cares when the food is so good
I enjoyed a birthday meal here with some friends, the food was good but was a bit cold as we were seated by the door. They brought the birthday girl a cake which we enjoyed together and was a nice surprise. Sadly after we were charged £10 for this which was a bit of a damper on an overall nice meal.
This place is interesting. You may enjoy Turkish cuisine in a proper dining environment. But the cuisine falls short of the expectations. We had grilled fish and lamb shank, which were served with rice or Cusco. The appetiser, which is free but is my personal favourite (crisp flat bread). The sides (yoghurt and sauce) are also excellent. I find grilled salmon to be too salty because the abundance of spices took away from the fish's natural freshness. The lam shark, which is another decent dish, tastes more like tangine and is more like steamed meat than grilled meat with curry sauce. We placed an order for tea, and if you order one, the second is for free. In the end, they also provide complimentary desserts. We weren't prepared for the wonderful service that included considerate free starters and tea. The food is not inexpensive, and we anticipate receiving better quality for the money we pay. Overall, the customer service was excellent; nevertheless, the food was disappointing and definitively need improvement.
Tables are cramped, I hit my head on the pole behind the chair. Came here mainly for family’s preference for meat options and I ordered a vegetarian glorified “cheese and grilled veg wrap” The sharing hot starter platter had about 400g of bland hummus as a plate “filler” taking up most of the space on the platter, with a selection of other things in tiny quantities. Bread was soft and warm, my party said the sausage was great but there were only two tiny slices. Light dips accompaniment were appreciated but I wouldn’t recommend the sharing starter platter because it was mostly mediocre. The kofte main was good but the rice and couscous were not. They should just offer to sell the kofte without the sides. The vegetarian dish came with option of rice or couscous too, I chose couscous but they brought it out with rice and walked away quickly (I didn’t want to get up to tell anyone at this point) the dish just had PLAIN yoghurt dolloped in a high heap (it was just unpleasant..maybe a yoghurt dip with some flavour could be nice? I wouldn’t recommend the vegetarian dishes here as the cheese was very greasy and the “wrap” or whatever it is that it was in was even greasier. Turkish coffee was fantastic
Visited this restaurante recently with 6 other people. The food and service was good but some how we left with a slightly dissapointing feeling. They brought us an unsolicited small birthday cake and charged us for it. The turkish coffee we were served was lukewarm and very sweet when we didnt ask for sugar but we were informed by a waitress thats how is done. Finally when the bill came we were told by our waiter the service was not included and was asked if i wanted to add the tip on the card payment. I had already planned to tip cash but found this uncalled for and unprofessional.
