The only downside to GBR is that it’s only available from 5-8, I hope in the future they’re able to expand into their own property. I would go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We had Faith as our server and she was fantastic! I took my daughter with me and discreetly let Faith know we were celebrating her birthday. I requested a song from SIX (in honor of my daughter turning six). Despite not having enough Queens to sing all six parts, Faith worked her magic and made it happen (shout out to the gentleman who jumped in to sing as the sixth Queen!). The team made our visit a dream come true, and my daughter is still raving about the “singing girls and boys.”

What an amazing experience, highly recommend for any musical lovers out there! The service, the food, and the performances were all amazing. A must do if in NYC!!!

The staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, making sure everyone was cared for. I had requested a song for my birthday and our server, Tommy Kaiser, did not disappoint! Some of the wait staff sang happy birthday to me as well. So glad to have made the trip here as it was well worth every penny!

Such a great experience and so fun. Mt favorite Broadway songs by among Broadway talent. Everything I ate was delicious. We came with a group of 8 and sat in main dining area. We made reservations in advance and they were so accommodating. We celebrated a birthday and they made it very special.

An unexpected treat after catching our first Broadway show! We had reservations at Friedmans for their gluten free options and had the unexpected pleasure of an additional show! The music was fantastic and our server, Aaron, was outstanding! Can’t wait to come back and enjoy this experience again!

I have been to Gayle’s 4 times (i live in louisiana) so i would say the plane ride and traveling to nyc to see these amazing servers and eat the wonderful food is100% a great idea, all the seats are great because of the amazing waiters and waitresses who will come and sing by every section. so you get to enjoy the beautiful experience, and i’ll be back in nyc and at gayle’s in july so again go try it.

We had an amazing experience at Gayle’s Broadway Rose! The atmosphere is so fun & the performers are excellent. I was especially excited to see Ben Diamond & Cara Rose DiPietro perform. The food is good and I love that they take reservations. We had Tori as a server and she was extremely attentive - and an amazing singer! Will definitely recommend to others and will be returning!

I came here for dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday The experience here is great, and the service and ambiance are so nice I love the chocolate fudge brownie milkshake, and while it is a really good milkshake, it isn’t the best one I’ve ever had In between waiting tables, I loved hearing the waitstaff sing and put on a show for diners 4 stars out of 5 for the atmosphere only because the tables were pretty close together I also had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, which was so good, and if I have the opportunity to dine here again, I would love to also try other things on the menu It’s a restaurant you’ll need a reservation for, and it would probably be better to (1) have a reservation slightly earlier than you would like and (2) come at the time of your reservation because we did have to wait for about 15 minutes after we arrived for our reservation, even though we came on time

We had such a great dinner and experience here! The servers are so talented and sang a wide range of songs. There was something for everyone from my 16-year-old daughter to my 70+ year old mother. The food is really good and food allergies are super easily accommodated. But most importantly they were SO KIND. The singing servers made eye contact with my teen and were really engaging and fun. Our server was very on-the-ball and we never felt like he was too busy to check on our table. Sadly, we had the exact opposite experience at the other (more well known) restaurant in NYC that has singing servers. They were so rude to us there that we left before someone even came to take our order (which was a long time. They made snarky comments when we asked to sit somewhere that my teen could see the singing and were just plain awful). At Gayle’s they made the experience super magical for my whole family and I strongly suggest you go there instead of the other place. Also you can make reservations!!!! No long lines!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Listen… you come here for the singer-servers. I did not come here expecting 5 star meals. In my opinion, the folks are singers, serving to make a living. And most of them are spectacular singers. You might find a diamond in the rough in the most unusual places. One of the singers sung “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston and I was like WTH? Damn good! I used to go to a place called Bergamo’s which had the same concept back home. I do have a humble suggestion… Have a small circle stage in the middle so that we can easily see the singers perform, instead of having to look around to see where they are. Something small that doesn’t take away from the business or having to take away a table. Three feet in diameter is fine. Some of the singers stand up on the chairs and that is smaller and could cause an accident. Keep singing guys!!!

Hands down a must do when visiting New York! The staff is some of the most amazing talent you can find in this city! Not only are they your servers giving you outstanding service, they are belching out some of the best Broadway hits. Whether it be a solo ballad, a group musical, classic Broadway, new Broadway, or even Disney. This is the best spot to go. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Drinks perfectly mixed and garnished. I could go on and on about this place.

Wow. What a night! The atmosphere and the talent is incredible! You have to visit. We had the breakfast burgers which were gorgeous!

Amazinggggg. The waiters and waitresses were all insanely talented and friendly. Best birthday present ever . The mock-tails were veryyyy tasty. Milkshakes famous for a reason. My only complaint my fires were a little to crunchy. Other than that everything was perfect thank you for a magical night.

Had dinner here last night. What a amazing time; it was "dining on Broadway". The singing was spectacular, a wide variety of songs covering an array musicals. The staff was kind and helpful. We enjoyed a family friendly dinner with unbelievable milkshakes. We spoke with the owner, Gayle who was onsite, walking around greeting guest and thanking them for visiting. Young or Old this is a must do in NYC!!

I went for my 19th birthday last night and I’m still speechless. We got milkshakes and got sat on the back bar. When I tell you those were the best seats. you got a view of everything and get the full experience. The servers were spectacular and we had such an amazing time. Shout out to Molly and Tori for being amazing people too!

Amazingly talented staff with tremendous vocal range! The food was awesome and fairly quick. My daughter and I loved the experience and will be back!!

Highly recommend Gayle’s Broadway Rose for entertainment value. The servers sing between serving. Worth the visit just for something different. Food was good and service was quick.

The atmosphere was wonderful and the singing talent was amazing. And we chatted with Gayle for quite a while and she was warm and gracious.

After a day of traveling to get to the city, this was the first place we went to! We were pretty hungry and enjoyed our food. Cocktails were really good too. Our serve was friendly, just like the host and other staff. I also really enjoyed the fact that our serve sang my favorite song from the Last 5 Years

What a special place! The singing servers are so incredibly talented, all while taking great care of the customers. We had the pleasure of meeting Gayle and a number of the talented professionals, they couldn't have been more welcoming and personable. The tables are close together, so we also got to chat with other dinners and it makes for a very fun meal. A meal at GBR is the perfect addition to a Broadway show. My 9 year old son was so excited for this experience and he said it was "even better than he could have imagined". He loved the variety of songs, and the MC did a fun little trivia before each song, and my son couldn't get enough. We were on our way to see Little Shop after our dinner, and when the performers did "suddenly Seymour" he was brought to tears to see such talent up close. We had a blast and we can't wait to return! Don't forget to tip your servers!

Forget the other place, Gayle’s is the only place to go for a dinner & show experience! The staff were incredible! Literally serving you while they sang! They were also super engaging and so talented! Perfect spot for my daughter 13th birthday celebration! She’s really into Broadway and even got to belt out a line from Six! She didn’t want to leave! Oh, and the food was amazing and the environment was more upscale than a diner. Friedman’s has such a great history and aesthetic. I appreciated that I could make a reservation and get in with no wait. You may even see a celebrity or two!

Gayles Broadway Rose is a hidden gem in NYC. Tucked away right in the theater district, it’s easy access to all the Broadway shows. My daughter follows tori, one of the singing waitresses, on TikTok. Gayle, the owner, came and introduced herself, when we first arrived, and was so genuine and kind. The singing starts right at 5pm and what WONDERFUL performances by all of the wait staff- they were truly talented. They performed many selections from popular Broadway shows. We stayed for over 2 hours enjoying the performances while eating a yummy dinner, followed by their special signature milkshakes for dessert. We usually go to Ellen’s stardust diner for our pre-show dinner but we found our new favorite restaurant! It exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful experience for our entire family. I highly recommend going soon!!! Great food while listening and watching fabulously talented singers- what more could you ask for?!

Gayle's Broadway Rose Restaurant provided an unforgettable dining experience during our trip to NYC. The atmosphere was delightful, and the servers showcased impressive talent. While the food was enjoyable, the cocktails didn't quite meet our expectations. Nonetheless, we found ourselves returning for a second visit within our five-day trip. We would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to friends in the UK.

My husband and I had an incredible time at Gayle's. First of all, management was so sweet and accommodating with our request to switch tables. The food was some of the best we had in New York and the atmosphere was a mix of old New York architecture with incredible musical performances by the waiters/Broadway actors.

We celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday with dinner here and it was lovely. Promptly seated, immediately waited on, food comes out quickly which is great after a long day. The food is good. The staff went out of their way to make my daughter feel special by singing happy birthday to her and coming around frequently to sing. The atmosphere is a little “stuffy” with the more elegant decor but it’s a great place for food and entertainment.

Had an amazing time at Gayle's Broadway Rose! This place might not be for everyone, but if you are a lover of musical theater, this is the place for you! I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to Gayle's or Ellen's (another similar kind of restaurant) but ultimately chose Gayle's because reservations were easy to make and the food and atmosphere looked better in the reviews. The food was delicious! Menu was simple, not an overwhelming amount of options. And although some other reviews said they found the food expensive, I found it to be fairly priced for a restaurant in the Times Square vicinity. The 14 oz steak was huge! And the meatloaf was also a crowd favourite at my table. Gayle herself was there and introduced herself to every table. She was so nice and it seems like all the staff really got along and enjoyed their jobs. The talent of every single server truly blew me away. I felt like I was in an interactive Broadway show. Our server was Tommy. He was so nice and did an amazing rendition of Climb Every Mountain from The Sound Of Music. My family really enjoyed their time and would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to New York City!

I AM SO GLAD WE WENT HERE! This was our first time going to a restaurant with singing servers, and man was it magical! Such a talented group and such delicious food! I got the kale salad with chicken and it was HUGE and very yummy. My sister loved the chicken sandwich. But even more than the food, we loved the singing!!! Make reservations! You won’t be disappointed.

This was a wonderful night!! The servers are wonderful people who take orders with some of the most wonderful and friendly demeanors. Right after that, they will sing their hearts out and then casually come back to the table to make sure that your food came out okay. It's mindboggling and magical. Would 100% recommend going!

I would give 4.5 stars, because the waiters and singing were stellar. They really did a great job. The part that takes away from the experience is the feeling that they want you out quickly (i.e. the time limit sign and the hostess folk seem very rushed). We only had dessert ($20 milkshake and $10 cookie plate) and that was pretty good. I do like that they take reservations but it's not as fun to be seated by the bar - even though we had reservations we weren't seated in the main room.

Really good unique experience on our first trip to New York. Food was great and reasonably priced for the portion size. All servers are great singers. Really enjoyed the show. The only negative thing was that I felt a bit rushed. Felt conscious of being watched by a manager and heard them talking of trying to get people out 😆 the server brought our bill when we had just started dessert. Maybe this is an American thing I don't know? I understand they want as much turnover as possible but I felt I had to go as soon as I had finished and i would've liked to stay until the end. The annoying thing was that when we passed again an hour later our table was empty and they were still singing 😆 Apart from this would definitely return if ever in New York again the singing makes up for everything 😊

While visiting the city, we made reservations here, excited for a one-of-a-kind dining experience filled with theatrical performances—and it did not disappoint! Our server, Albert, was not only incredibly talented and attentive but also an all-around fantastic person. We highly recommend this unforgettable experience to anyone visiting NYC!

I love this place. I tend to say this a lot: my biggest regret is not finding this place sooner. The atmosphere here is so much fun. You experience regular musical performances by the waitstaff while you dine. On top of that the food was really good. We came here for dinner before a show. We made reservations in advance and had no issues whatsoever. You don’t have to be a Broadway fan to enjoy the experience but if you are I know you will love it too.

I have a theater kid so we came for the Singing servers having no idea how the food was going to be. The menu is essentially comfort food and had very good flavors! Regarding the singing, it felt like a Non-stop show! Broadway songs sang by the servers and The servers have so much talent! We were celebrating a birthday and they came to our table and sang Happy birthday to the bday girl! She was so surprised and happy! If you like musical theater, this is a must in NYC. PS. I saw someone left a 1 star review because music was too loud. Really? If you don’t like loud music, don’t come. The purpose of this whole experience is the beautiful singing.

This was one of the BEST experiences we’ve had with my Broadway loving daughter!!! Dinner was delicious (and as an added bonus gluten free which we needed) and the entertainment was amazing. We could have sat there for hours!!!!

Our first time last night. Great to see the owners so involved. The food, service, entertainment, and vibe were amazing! My family wants to come back next time we are in NYC. My kids have been involved with musicals since they were born and my wife has been the music director for many musicals. They loved it!

This was one of my favorite things we did while visiting New York City. This is such a fun place! The servers all sing Broadway songs around the restaurant and they are incredible! Also the food was excellent! I got the salmon bowl and it was so yummy!!! My girls got a hamburger and fish tacos. My daughter said it was the best hamburger she’d ever had. We made a reservation and didn’t have to wait long at all to be seated. I would definitely go here again. Hope I can someday!

We arrived a few minutes late for our 5pm reservation and we were sat immediately when we arrived. We ordered appetizers & mocktails and the food came right out. Everything was delicious. The performers were excellent and the atmosphere was amazing!!! Gayle walked around and introduced herself to all of the tables- she was so sweet. Highly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed. I went in thinking i really wanted to hear a song from Dear Evan Hansen and they sang one! Total coincidence. Very pleased and we will be back!!

Between here and another singing restaurant close by, I liked this place better. The food was very good. I had the salmon salad-as recommended by someone who just started working there. Kids had grilled cheese and a burger. The singers sang some great broadway songs, there were 2-3 minutes breaks between songs and the tables had plenty of room to sit. Was it a bit tough to have a conversation during the singing, kind of, but it wasn’t terrible. I would come here again.

This was so much fun. The performers/servers were amazing and our food was delish! The only teeny-tiny downside is that it's a historical building with lovely architectural details (columns) that made it hard to watch the performers as they went around the room. They were sooooo talented, though, so it was still worth every penny! Please go support Gayle's so they can expand! Bonus points here, because you can make reservations.

Our youngest has recently gotten really into musicals, so we surprised her with a trip to NYC to see Six. She had previously seen videos for Friedmans and mentioned it. So I made reservations not knowing what to expect. Let me tell ya, this place crushed all expectations. We were promptly seated, food was out quick, the entertainment and voices are every bit as good as those on Broadway, the staff was overly friendly and our server, Kiani, was one of the best I've ever encountered. (She also has an incredible voice) The kicker for me. I've eaten a lot of burgers in my 46 years of life, but their Friedmans burger is the best burger I've ever had. Period. It's not even particularly close. I don't know when I'll be back in NYC or what for, but Friedmans is going to be an automatic stop moving forward. Gayle's is a must for all musical theatre lovers! Food and craft cocktails were delish ... don't sleep on the Herb Fries! Vibe is fun and welcoming. Gayle was on hand to touch all the tables and check-in. You can feel the family-energy from the uber talented staff which makes the experience even that much better. If you are looking for a cozy quiet space for a bite, this is not a fit. But if your looking for a fun experience with lots of smiles and Broadway favorite songs ... this is the place!! Make sure to get a reservation in advance if you can. Adding to my repeat list!

From the moment we walked in (yes-with a reservation and no long line!), we were welcomed with delicious food, fabulous drinks, and non-stop performances by the crazy talented singing servers. Seriously, they belted out Broadway hits every few minutes and made sure the whole room was part of the show! Our server was not only amazing at their job but also had a voice that could easily be on stage. And yes, Gayle herself stopped by our table to check in-how sweet is that? If you're heading to New York and love show tunes, great vibes, and the best carrot cake ever... put Gayle's Broadway Rose at the top of your list.

Beautiful restaurant, with a stunning atmosphere of historic and modern touches. The waiters not only served us, but also served with their vocals as they sang beautifully with songs of Broadway. Perfect area for the restaurant as well, it’s within the area of Times Square! Not only was the food really great, but the service was phenomenal! Beautiful restaurant, with a stunning atmosphere of historic and modern touches. The waiters not only served us, but also served with their vocals as they sang beautifully with songs of Broadway. Perfect area for the restaurant as well, it’s within the area of Times Square! Not only was the food really great, but the service was phenomenal! Our waitress was someone I was a fan of from TikTok, and so was another one of the waitresses!! Not only was this a dream come true, but it was also better than I could have ever imagined!! Will definitely be going back when I return to New York!

From the moment we walked in (yes-with a reservation and no long line!), we were welcomed with delicious food, fabulous drinks, and non-stop performances by the crazy talented singing servers. Seriously, they belted out Broadway hits every few minutes and made sure the whole room was part of the show! Our server was not only amazing at their job but also had a voice that could easily be on stage. And yes, Gayle herself stopped by our table to check in-how sweet is that? If you're heading to New York and love show tunes, great vibes, and the best carrot cake ever... put Gayle's Broadway Rose at the top of your list.

I have a theater kid so we came for the Singing servers having no idea how the food was going to be. The menu is essentially comfort food and had very good flavors! Regarding the singing, it felt like a Non-stop show! Broadway songs sang by the servers and The servers have so much talent! We were celebrating a birthday and they came to our table and sang Happy birthday to the bday girl! She was so surprised and happy! If you like musical theater, this is a must in NYC. PS. I saw someone left a 1 star review because music was too loud. Really? If you don’t like loud music, don’t come. The purpose of this whole experience is the beautiful singing.

Went to Gayle’s for a birthday dinner to celebrate a birthday for a musical theater lover before a show and why an amazing time! We were seated promptly and in the main dining room. I see how there are some seats by the front windows of the restaurant that is separated from the main dining room by a bar. While you can hear everything it’s best to sit there if you want it to be a bit more private vs being in the action. The singers walk around but typically only in the main dining room. The place was upscale but not overly fancy so you can dress up or down, the singing was amazing. The food was also really good. I had the salmon salad as recommended by my server and it was absolutely delicious. My friends had B.L.A.T sandwich, the french onion steak sandwich which were both delicious. We were unfortunately full and couldn’t enjoy one of the famous shakes. I would def go again if I have visitors in town and pair it with a night out to watch a show after. It’s like going to a pre-show party before the show. The Edison hotel where this restaurant is at has this glitzy old vibe that played well into the musical Just in Time that we were going to. The servers were super friendly and they will all perform which was so amazing to see. They even came to do a special happy birthday song for the birthday girl. This really allows you to see the fierce competition in the theater world and how extremely talented those that make it to Broadway really are. They do send someone around with a hat to tip every so often. They were not pushy or make you feel bad if you don’t put a tip (there is a small entertainment fee they tack on to the bill already that I think is fair for the entertainment you get). No one was there to rush you out of the restaurant either! Overall what a wonderful place and everyone had such a wonderful time.

This is a unique must do ny city restaurant. Loved the food (chicken and waffles were amazing, husband and kids loved steak and burger- we had walked 10 miles beforehand and were starving so maybe that played into it a bit). Loves our server and the atmosphere was amazing. At first I thought we couldn’t see the signers bc we were in front of the bar at the window but the singers walked around and we got plenty of entertainment. The whole area near me was singing. The cheesecake was delicious. I absolutely would give this ten stars. We met gayle she came around asking for donations for the singers and they were totally worth it. The talent was incredible. We will go every time we are in the city!

We dined at Gayle's Broadway Rose a couple weeks ago... night before the blizzard. It was our son's 1st time in New York and our family's 1st visit to the restaurant. With reservations, we waited about 25 minutes to get seated. The place was packed out the door and others who were also waiting to get seated. Hostesses did a great job moving things along to get us to a table and the wait was doable, as we listened to and saw the LIVE songs being performed by waiters and waitresses, walking around the restaurant. Once seated our order came out pretty quick which we loved as we were famished. Food was great... burgers, fries, wings, and milkshake! The LIVE performances by our waitress and others... up and coming Broadway singers was top tier and added a whole other level of awesomeness to the experience. We left and headed back to Boston the next morning before the blizzard hit there and so glad we had this experience. We'll be back!

I took my daughter here for her 11th birthday. We had so much fun! What an interesting experience. First, the place is sort of a "pop-up" as during the day, it's Friedmans, a breakfast\lunch spot in the lobby of a hotel. At night it turns into Gayle's Broadway Rose, but inside, it still looks like a diner. The performances were not intrusive at all to a meal. It wasn't constant. Each performer was fantastic and they took requests. Our waiter Tommy, who was great, sang Poor Unfortunate Souls from the little mermaid for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. Pretty impressive range! It's a really weird dynamic how the performers are also waiters. I saw one young lady refill a pitcher of water for a customer WHILE SINGING HER SONG! What?! Hilarious. OK, I wrote a lot and haven't mentioned the food once...this is a restaurant review, so we should mention the food. The food was good. Nothing amazing, but nothing was bad. My daughter had the Brick Chicken with fries and string beans. She's a really picky eater, so the fact that she ate most of her chicken, all of her fries, and even a string bean or two was a good sign. I had the smash burger, which was good, but nothing special. Were both items overpriced if there were no show involved? Sure. I would not have been happy paying $24 for their smash burger had their been no entertainment, but the entertainment was top notch which made the value for everything just fine. I would definitely come back. We stayed as long as we could before we had to get to a show. Great Job everyone at Gayle's Broadway Rose.

This was so much fun. The performers/servers were amazing and our food was delish! The only teeny-tiny downside is that it's a historical building with lovely architectural details (columns) that made it hard to watch the performers as they went around the room. They were sooooo talented, though, so it was still worth every penny! Please go support Gayle's so they can expand! Bonus points here, because you can make reservations.

Between here and another singing restaurant close by, I liked this place better. The food was very good. I had the salmon salad-as recommended by someone who just started working there. Kids had grilled cheese and a burger. The singers sang some great broadway songs, there were 2-3 minutes breaks between songs and the tables had plenty of room to sit. Was it a bit tough to have a conversation during the singing, kind of, but it wasn’t terrible. I would come here again.

Our youngest has recently gotten really into musicals, so we surprised her with a trip to NYC to see Six. She had previously seen videos for Friedmans and mentioned it. So I made reservations not knowing what to expect. Let me tell ya, this place crushed all expectations. We were promptly seated, food was out quick, the entertainment and voices are every bit as good as those on Broadway, the staff was overly friendly and our server, Kiani, was one of the best I've ever encountered. (She also has an incredible voice) The kicker for me. I've eaten a lot of burgers in my 46 years of life, but their Friedmans burger is the best burger I've ever had. Period. It's not even particularly close. I don't know when I'll be back in NYC or what for, but Friedmans is going to be an automatic stop moving forward. We arrived a few minutes late for our 5pm reservation and we were sat immediately when we arrived. We ordered appetizers & mocktails and the food came right out. Everything was delicious. The performers were excellent and the atmosphere was amazing!!! Gayle walked around and introduced herself to all of the tables- she was so sweet. Highly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed. I went in thinking i really wanted to hear a song from Dear Evan Hansen and they sang one! Total coincidence. Very pleased and we will be back!!

This was one of my favorite things we did while visiting New York City. This is such a fun place! The servers all sing Broadway songs around the restaurant and they are incredible! Also the food was excellent! I got the salmon bowl and it was so yummy!!! My girls got a hamburger and fish tacos. My daughter said it was the best hamburger she’d ever had. We made a reservation and didn’t have to wait long at all to be seated. I would definitely go here again. Hope I can someday!

GaylesBroadwayRose was definitely an experience! They sang some really great songs and were very welcoming. I have never been to a Broadway singing restaurant before so I can’t compare them to their competitors but this would be a great way to end your day after going to a Broadway show! -Tips ♡ Plan your experience around parking availability 😅 ♡ Family friendly 👌 ♡ Has a downstairs area for those who want a quieter setting🙏 ♡ The shake was my favorite ✅ ♡ Great food, cool concept! I just wish it was more than diner food considering the location. I find that to be a bit risky. 😕 ♡ The experience was cool and different. The talent hired was incredible! 😮 ♡ I was smiling ear to ear the entire time 😁 ♡ The hours are strange, they close wayyyyy too early🤔

Great place to go if you're into Broadway tunes or even just like live singing during dinner. VERY loud but the singing and speakers are good so it doesn't really hurt your ears. Alyson was even able to hit the ridiculously high notes in Phantom. Singers interact with audience as well. The waiters are the singers too so be prepared for periods of slower attention. Food comes out super fast... Limited menu... Prices a little high for food items/quality but you're paying for entertainment! There's a 5% fee on bill for entertainment and they come around asking for additional tips. Considering you're in NYC, you can't do much better for an hour of food and entertainment!

Gayle's Broadway Rose takes over the Friedmans restaurant at the Edison Hotel from 5-8. I highly recommend making reservations. This is a more upscale version of Ellen's Stardust Diner, the food is better, and the prices are comparable. I had the Friedman’s Burger. The herb fries were good, but the burger itself was nothing to write home about. I tried a bite of my friend’s Grilled Chicken Swisswich, and if I were to go back that’s what I’d get. It was very good! They say they’re famous for their milkshakes, but the milkshake wasn’t the best. I got the Vanilla s’mores one, and it was okay. I was surprised to find nuts at the bottom since the menu didn’t say that it had nuts in it, so just an FYI if you have any nut allergies. Our food came out quickly. The singer waiters and waitresses are very talented, and this is definitely something you should do in NYC!

I’ve waited so long to come here and was so disappointed when we ended up in a corner by the bar. Only ONE person walked by us while singing. He was amazing! Our server, Zach, was lovely. But the whole experience felt like a waste. Not sure if I’d go back or recommend unless you train your staff to include every guest and not just the ones in the main area.

I just want to start by saying we had a wonderful time, and the food was good (pricey, but still good). Our waitress, Ally (or Allison?), was amazing. My daughter told her that she loves Hamilton and that "Burn" was her favorite song from the musical. Ally surprised my daughter and performed Burn and she was incredible! She really made my daughter's birthday an unforgettable day! We tipped her over 20%. Tipping reflects the quality of service, especially when someone goes the extra mile. My daughter has been asking to go back so she can see Ally again. The reason I rated it just 3 stars is... besides the food being expensive, and they added a 5% charge for entertainment. You might think that all of that, along with giving a tip to our server, would be enough, right? The owner, Gayle, was walking around with a hat, asking for tips. This happened before we received our food and while trying to enjoy our 1st performance. We were seated near the windows, just a few inches away from a small table against the windows. It felt like we were dining with the other table. We booked a table and mentioned that it was for a birthday celebration. I would think a walk-in would be seated in the same spot we were. The reservation mentions that the main dining room isn't guaranteed. If I had known we would be seated there, I would have chosen to go somewhere else, like Ellen's Stardust. The fact that Gayle even asks for tips from those tables - and the people sitting at the bar right across from us, is insulting. We were no where near the main dining room so basically heard most of the songs from afar with singing waiters coming to our side to sing 2 songs (singing walking past us, not in front of us for entire 2 songs) plus Ally singing the song for my daughter. My advice to Gayle, stand with the tip hat near the exit after people have enjoyed their meals and entertainment, rather than making people uncomfortable while they are trying to enjoy themselves making it awkward for all. Also remember many people don't carry cash anymore especially with Google wallet and Apply pay on their phone. I always have my emergency $50 bill on me and it wasn't going in that hat.

The idea of this place was exciting, however…. You would have BETTER food at McDonald’s — no joke. Like a BigMac would serve you better than the food they had. Their food is a joke!!! I ordered a BLAT - Bacon Lettuce Avocado Tomato. Thought I’d be safe with that option, right? WRONGGGG!! Another thing, the fries were OVERCOOKED may as well have ordered their house chips lol. Anyways, as I’m “enjoying” my sandwich, I see a little friend CRAWL OUT OF MY SANDWICH. I mean this bug wasn’t huge but wasn’t SMALL. I was triggered. The busser came over to grab my plate and I told him I wanted to let my server know what just happened. I squished the bug on a napkin, its carcass was just laying on the napkin. Our server came over and I told her, her reaction was surprisingly relieving, she gasped and said was upset for us. She had the manager comp the meal which was very nice, but gosh… that really sucked and GROSSED ME OUT something fierce. Anyways, go to Stardust Diner, that place is BETTER as far performances and food goes.

really cute vibe. I just can’t believe the impossible burger was that bad. The American cheese on it wasn’t melted (despite it being so below average already) so I asked for them to reheat it. They made a whole new burger and the cheese still wasn’t melted ? It was lukewarm the entire burger. Wasn’t properly cooked. When I got the check, I was charged for two burgers…. Anyway. Sit at the bar & enjoy the lovely show! Unique place wish them the best & better food

We could hear them sure, but it would've been nice to be able to see a more of the performance (our view was blocked by the bar). It seems like they mainly cater to larger groups with their main dining space. Gayle herself came around at one point with a hat for tip collections for the performers, which felt awkward. I don't love being solicited while I'm in the middle of eating my dinner. Why not just have a tip jar on the way out or have an extra option on the check...? I sure hope the performers and servers are being paid well for how much the food cost. It wasn't bad food but it was overpriced. For the cost and experience I'll probably just go back to Ellen's Stardust next time I'm craving a similar dinner and show.

food was alright, cafeteria like. the singers were not bad, not really broadway quality but decent voices, but seems like there's not a lot of diversity in the cast of singing waiters. i see on the website lots of diversity but when i went i saw no diversity at all, maybe they only give the good shifts to "certain" folks. would have been nice to get/hear some soul in there.

Alright, I’m going to be honest here.I loved the concept of live performances, I always have. And I’ve loved broadway too, so when I heard about this restaurant from a friend, I knew I had to go. First off, the reservations take forever to place. I originally scheduled for me and a few friends a few weeks in advance to take another broadway loving friend’s birthday. It took us 2 MONTHS. FOR ANYONE TO GRT BACK TO US. We were a party of 7. Ridiculous, so we celebrated her birthday somewhere else. Disappointing. Even canceling a reservation takes forever to do. But I still wanted to go!! I’ve seen so many great reviews on the food and singing that I didn’t care about the wait. Finally after a few months, I had a spot and I was astounded by the scenery! Very pretty but also extremely loud with lots of people. Love the hanging garments. I ordered a milkshake and had a small table to myself, nothing special..yet the wait for a small milkshake seemed like hours. I get how busy it is, but I advise if you’re going to bring a family or a date to here, it will take a long time because for me it was almost 45 MINUTES to have a single milkshake. The service was terrible and the waiters had attitudes. The music was.. okay. The male singers are a little pitchy . They sang a little bit of West Side Story and Dear Evan Hansen. Classics, am I right? But I felt like the guys were competing to be heard so I heard lots of strain and voice cracks and the crowd could clearer hear, judging by their looks.. overall, 4-5/10 performance for the guys, I didn’t want to wait all this time just for a mediocre performance. Then, a few waitresses began to sing Ex-Wives from Six, so I got a bit excited. I’ve sent be original broadway cast live and- WOW. The harmonies were great. So expectations were a little high. Oh yeah. The milkshake was decent enough. I would like to just point out the girl who sang Katherine H, however. Constantly trying to riff and belt and clearly isn’t a trained singer and was just hired on the spot. While doing the bridge high harmonies, you could clearly hear her at her breaking point because she had a MASSIVE voice crack. Even the other waiters stared her. Honestly I get having a crack in your voice but this girl could not keep a pitch and overall was just inexperienced and I feel bad for the people who hired her for putting her in a rough position.but.. she ran out the exit and ruined the performance. A few other workers followed her but that was my cue to leave because I didn’t want anymore drama. Kind of a big fiasco and bummer but whatever. I hope some other broadway lover found this place enjoyable.

We ordered breakfast thinking it was a safe bet; waffle and french toast were meager portions for $16 price tag, flavorless, and served to us with tasteless canned fruit instead of the bananas we asked for (they just opened at 5p , our reservation was @5:30p and they were already out?). When the manager (?) came over asking for extra tips (!!) i told her about everything & she said it was “too bad we ate everything” instead of telling her... pic included is where we stopped. Clearly we ate only a small bit. Boxed up what was left cuz at least my dogs can enjoy this $40 mess. The singers are AMAZING, the food is barely decent, the manager is a putz that needs to learn customer service. Don’t blame your customers for your lackluster food.

The singing is great and everything, but the service is terrible, and the food is even worse. Got the chicken sandwich and it was bone dry. No juice to be found. Talk about having a scratchy throat afterwards. The menu makes absolutely NO sense. They have chicken and waffles as an entrée, along with other items that did not go well together. They definitely need to pick a menu, a theme, and go with it. My personal advice would be to just get a cocktail and enjoy the singing. I think the only thing me and my girlfriend enjoyed was the storage of luggage for a $1 per bag until midnight. LOL.
