Everything I ordered was absolutely amazing 10/10. Authentic and delicious. I got okra soup with fufu, plantain, and moin-moin. Best Nigerian food I've been to in a long time, and they were playing some really nice afrobeats too.

Amazing people, great food, love the ambiance. You definitely got to check it out.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had, hands down. If you’re with a crew you absolutely need to come here. Take their advice when it comes to what you’re looking for - everything is absolutely delicious. The nicest folks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in ages as well. We will be back.

This is by far the best Nigerian restaurant in all of New York. You can never have a bad experience here. I travel from Harlem to eat here almost 1 hour on train & foot. Many of the restaurants in NY are hit or miss. Making food too American or Caribbeanized, lacks effort, or overly posh to where the food is inauthentic or underwhelming for the price. If you want REAL Nigerian food, family environment, great portions come here! Especially if you’re an Amala lover like me.

T
Toyin Adejumo

Food is fantastic.. very very good. i ordered efo riro, snails, okro, and jollof rice and everything was spectacular. The people are very nice but service is slow because food is made from scratch. The place itself is just okay but I ordered a pick up. Again, food is very good- emphasis on VERY.

First off let me start off by saying WOW🤩 the food was Extremely Delicious and tasty ‼️‼️ This was my first time, and I will definitely be back. The meat is well seasoned and cooked, i usually go to Green Place which is down the block from them, and I must say I’m glad you guys opened up, usually I can smell the meat in the food from other places which I hate, but African pride took the trophy and ran with it 😩🙏🏽‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Keep on keeping on. African Food Tops All food!

Amazing food, amazing people!!! The atmosphere was really welcoming, and my friend whose Nigerian said it was extremely authentic food. Better than what his mother makes at home, so you can't get a higher compliment than that! Check this out if you are in the neighborhood!

T

Food was delicious. Taste and portion on point. Will order again and already recommending to family and friends. So happy they are now online and you can order through Uber Eats and others. Keep up the good work! *We started eating before taking the pictures. You get two pieces of well seasoned and cooked croaker fish. The peppersoup and ayamase soups were full in their respective bowls.

The owner Abdul, he showed me and my partner so much love when we walked in. He smiled a lot, he hugged and blessed us so many times and he sang with us. We tried a lot of new foods with Abdul. The food = Okra Soup w) Goat, Fufu, and Suya was amazingly delicious. My partner and I left with a fully belly and takeout. And we shared a plate! The atmosphere was immersive. Afrobeats playing in the background, people joking, laughing and singing— it felt like my African family. Definitely a must try!

M
Moctar Banse

I mean, first and foremost I can’t stop emphasizing how much revitalizing the food is after couple of drinks. The Staff is so friendly and accommodating, Specially mama Rabe, she’ll have you feeling like you’ve just discovered a brand new mom that knows exactly what your stomach need lol. I definitely recommend to check it out.

L

The owner was amazing from the beginning of our visit to the end. This man had become family just off of one experience. God bless him, I will definitely be coming back again soon

The best place on NYC that serves Nigerian food, customer service is also really great. The women who work here are always so helpful. I’d you’re looking for a place with good efo riro, or efo elegusi, this is the spot for you ! Their okro is also really good , the Jollof rice has a real Smokey taste. The wait for food sometimes might be about 20min , because they have to prep it , but it’s worth the wait. They also do catering services, where you can order food in bulk.

Nice place and the best African food I have tested after my 4 years in America. Though quite expensive but it is money well spent. I bought Assorted peppersoup a couple of times. Some recipes advertised online

Best Jollof rice I've ever had! Its spicy, smoky and full of flavor. Very authentic, no frills African food, feels like I'm back home and someones mom or aunty making the food. Definitely worth the wait time.

A

Delicious. Food is packed with flavor- like every bite is a party. The goat and fish were cooked perfectly- tender and full of spice and savory. Jollof rice had an aromatic smokiness to it which I loved. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The fuufu was the best pairing for the food. Tried the amala too (I think base may have been cassava and it's more dense) and whole wheat fuufu too but neither topped the original.

My friend and I decided to try African Pride 2 weeks ago, and it didn't disappoint. I ordered Egusi soup with Eba which was sooo good. The soup was rich, spicy, and flavorful, and I enjoyed it. My friend chose the seafood okra, though it lacked crab due to a recent menu change, but she still found it delicious. The Moi Moi was missing an egg, which was a slight oversight, but overall, the meal was satisfying. The food portion was enough, and the prices were okay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone searching for authentic African cuisine.

The food was amazing I had the fish in red stew with efo and jollof rice. Everything was seasoned well and the customer service was above and beyond. On a five star rating they deserve a ten. Abdul was absolutely amazing and made the whole experience so much better. I will definitely be going back especially when the menu expands to more Ghanaian dishes. Thanks so much for the exceptional experience

I’m a first generation Nigerian woman in America, and this place feels just like my parent’s house or like one of the African parties I grew up attending. The food is also very good. I tend to compare it with Accra Restaurant in Harlem. If I had to choose between the two; I would choose African Pride because it feels like a safe haven for Africans and First Gens.

This was my second time trying Africa food, and I had the egusi so far the best I've tasted so flavorful better than the first one I had will be going back 😋

The food here is great. Soup is flavorful and the assorted meats so far have been a hit every time. Service is below average but at least they’re not rude like every other Nigerian restaurant I’ve been to. It’s a new restaurant so I hope it doesn’t go downhill once it becomes more popular. I would definitely recommend as I’ve tried the food several times already!

We enjoyed our visit here. It was the first time trying Nigerian food, so we decided to order a few things including the okra dish (egusi perhaps?) with fufu on the side that has been the viral rage across social media. I honestly expected the typical unwelcoming service that most African restaurants in Bed Stuy are known for, but we were VERY PLEASANTLY surprised on visit #1! We were educated about different beers and elixirs, and the food was really good. Overall, everyone was really friendly and willing to educate us. My absolute favorite was the pepper pot soup. It starts out with heat that you gradually get very used to, but fair warning if you are opposed to anything spicy. It was delightful! We also tried jollof and fish in a red sauce and it was sooooooo good! The okra dish was also pretty good, but it's an acquired taste. My guest was not a fan of okra slime, but I love it! We enjoyed it so much, that we came back a second time, during the early afternoon when the employees were mostly women so we received NO WELCOME at all. We made another visit shortly thereafter, but upon arrival there was a very off-putting odor when you stepped into the restaurant. This may have come from something indigenous to cooking in that culture but we lost our appetite. hell, who am I to criticize, I still eat chitterlings! LOL.

Hi pleaseeee stop putting so much oil in your food. Every-time I order I have to throw away a lot of oil which clogs arteries. Over all your food taste great. But please consider the health of your customers.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed. The jollof had good texture but it tasted burnt. Yes, I know that sometimes a smokey flavor is desirable in jollof, but to me, it was too much. The Groundnut soup was spiiiiiiicy (which I liked) but good! The meat was cooked properly because it fell off the bone. The vibe is a standard small take-away restaurant. The cashier was really nice and prompt. Tl;dr: the food was fine. Just not for me. I'll try another West African spot next time

V
Vashti

The mixed meat in the Ogbono soup was disappointing….the majority of the meat I could not eat. Cow foot was just a big piece of bone with skin too tough to bite into. The goat meat was the same. The small piece of tripe and cow skin I found was good but it wasn’t enough to enjoy the soup and fufu with. Even though the flavor of the soup was on point, I felt robbed and unfulfilled. I went to bed still hungry.

I visited yesterday for the first time because your ratings were high. I am familiar with Nigerian food but not enough so I'm always looking to learn more because I am a descendant and also someone who cooks a lot. The lady who took my order was very friendly. She couldn't explain to me what garri was but asked one of the ladies sitting there to explain it and she did. I ordered joloff rice with croaker fish. I also got a side of fufu. Everything tasted delicious. I loved the sauce the fish was cooked in but the fish itself was cooked too much. It wasn't soft inside and kind of dry. That was disappointing.

The young lady at the cashier had a NASTYYYYY attitude we travel all the way here for them to not have chicken. She also said if you don’t want goat or fish you may as well not get anything. The place stink. Definitely don’t waste you're time coming here.

bad customer service. If you’re a true African, this food is a no. The poundo I received was like play dough. My gbegerie was like water and came in one bowl. If you eat gbegerie, you know it should be separated for take out

The mixed meat ogbono was the worst I've ever had in my life.almost none of the meat is edible. It is all bone. Not sure of what everything else tastes like. But stay away from the ogbono.

I drove 30min to get to this place and 30min to get back home. I ask for two orders of Bitterleaf, they said they had only one order but they would check. After they checked, they gave me two orders BUT when I got home, I noticed they had split the one order of bitterleaf that they had in two. They are not honest and I feel robbed.

I bought egusi soup with fufu $28 something. I asked for mixed meats they gave me bones of goat meat! They were not meat on theses bones AT ALL. But that is not my concern bcs sometimes, it’s can happen. The most scary part is that I feel like it’s the rest of someone food that they gave it to me bcs the way there was no meat on the bone is like someone did it intentionally! I’m so disappointed and confused.

They fell off! Their food can be good at TIMES .but isn’t fresh never & it’s always microwaved. I’m not a fan of that at all. Also the fish isn’t freshly fried either. Just sitting in stew all day and they’re cheap with the okra in the okra soup and it’s overly oily which can be unappetizing . Too expensive mediocre preparation!

Firstly, I would like to say how disappointed I am in the food I ordered today. My order was ayamase stew, the stew was terrible looking with a distasteful taste, also to pay $17 for the stew and only get 4 pieces of meat that are bones. I’m so disappointed. Secondly, the jollof rice wasn’t cooked properly because it was hard and not well done. thirdly I called the restaurant to lay down my complain about the food, the person I spoke to was very hostile towards me asking me what do I want from them to do. Almost all Nigeria restaurant are very greedy and don’t know what customer service means. Terrible terrible overall. Instead of African pride it should be called Africa disgrace
