A very good BBQ joint. The brisket is smokey and juicy and the jalapeno sausage is good. We ordered the meat by the pound and shared; we don't usually order side dishes. Service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. The owner stopped by our table and chatted for a moment. We will be back when staying in the area.

Just went here for the first time after moving from New York to New Braunfels. Food was excellent. So far our favorite BBQ since relocating. Allan, his wife, and the staff were super kind. Food was delicious and tender. Our family loved it. We will definitely be going back. Thank you!

I gotta say, being from Houston, by way of Victoria, BBQ is in our blood! What ever you think can go on a pit, DOES!!! Anytime I got to a BBQ spot, I test the brisket. I've had the best brisket and the worst brisket. Bare's brisket was slap with the cucumber salad. I gave 4 stars based on the brisket. I wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese, beans or chocolate cake. The peach cobbler was fair. Overall, the owner and cashier were nice and the southern hospitality showed. On my next visit, I think I'll just stop by for a bit of brisket as long as the owner serves it to me 😋.

Oh em gee! This is my new favorite BBQ! Our first time so we tried a bunch of things. Brisket and reg sausage plate w/ green beans and potato salad. Brisket is flavorful and oh so tender! The sausage was a bit dry and pepper forward as were the green beans. The potato salad isn't bad but pretty basic, blank canvas if you will. Smashed potatoes with mayo. I squeezed pickles for juice and a little salt. I liked it. Also had burnt ends and pork ribs w/ cucumber salad and Mac salad. The burnt ends are not your traditional BBQ sauce smothered and basted but so very good anyway! Their brisket bark is so flavorful! I usually don't use BBQ sauce but I tried it and it's good too! It's not pepper forward like just other places. The ribs are tender and fell clean off the bone! The cucumber salad is a hefty serving, the pasta salad is good but is heavier on mayo than I'm use to, I didn't mind it. The plates come with pickles, onions, two slices of bread and small cup of sauce. An extra cup was requested at no additional charge. We will definitely be back!! I need to try the Dino rib but they were sold out.

We visited San Antonio over the weekend and I was craving BBQ on the way home. After checking reviews and pictures, we chose Bare Bull BBQ and let me tell ya - it was beyond amazing. The restaurant has a very homey feel and the staff really made you feel like a friend. The portions were generous, the food was phenomenal and the price was reasonable! The only disappointing part of this experience is that it’s so far from home. We will not only be back but will send everyone we know!

Best bbq I have had in a very long time. From the moment my friends and I walked in, friendly service, fresh lemonade, cute cool decor throughout, and the food was AMAZING. If you want to take a drive through country roads, eat deliciously smoked brisket and ribs, homemade sausage, nachos, delicious mac and cheese, and delectable dessert, Stop by, say hi to owners Tracy and Allen, who were working hard getting orders out, maintaining a clean dining area, and conversational with all customers. Come out and try it! you will not be disappointed!!

Wow! I can't speak highly enough about this place. My husband and I stumbled upon it after a day at the lake and we're so grateful we did. The service was excellent and the food was even better. I had the brisket, Mac and cheese, and potato salad while my husband enjoyed the pork ribs and beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. Despite the long drive, we would definitely make the trip again just for the BBQ!!!! I highly recommend.

Best little secret in the area. A true hidden gem. The brisket is delicious and the sandwich is stacked huge. Sure beats driving into town for bbq that isn’t even as good as this. I order over the phone and pick this up within 5 minutes. Doesn’t get any better than this. I know my Texas bbq very well and this is definitely some of my favorite. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

As a Brit this was my first experience of Texas BBQ and what a BBQ it was. The meat was amazing and the beef rib and brisket in particular were sublime. I love trying non-chain restaurants when I travel and I will absolutely recommend this to anyone I know coming to this area of Texas. I met the owner and what a gentleman he was. Passionate about the food he serves and his customers. His staff are also a credit to his restaurant. 5 stars is simply not enough.

This restaurant gets five stars for the atmosphere, service, and the food. I was traveling with four kids and was very grateful for the extra help I received. When they brought our food out, they helped me with a highchair, extra plates, and came back to check on us even as they were busy helping other customers. It is nice to eat somewhere you know those working care to go the extra mile to help those that need a little more. The food was good as well. I had the firefighter and it was good. All the food was tasty and even one loved the Mac and cheese and sausage. The restaurant was well cleaned and so were the bathrooms.

Bare Bull BBQ in Canyon Lake is a true Texas BBQ gem! We stopped in for dinner and were extremely impressed from start to finish. The service was excellent — friendly, welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was clean, organized, and had that relaxed Hill Country BBQ vibe you hope for. Now let’s talk about the food… My wife and I ordered the Burnt Ends & BBQ Chicken with Roasted Potatoes and Cucumber Salad, and everything delivered. The burnt ends were absolutely AMAZING — smoked to perfection, tender, juicy, and packed with deep, rich flavor. Easily the standout of the meal. The BBQ chicken was also very good — moist, not dry at all, with a bold smoky flavor that really came through. The roasted potatoes were cooked pretty good, and the cucumber salad tasted like something straight out of Mom’s kitchen — fresh, simple, and nostalgic. This is the kind of BBQ spot you hope to find — authentic, flavorful, and welcoming. We highly recommend Bare Bull BBQ and will definitely be back! What a find. 🔥

Pretty good BBQ! The Mac and cheese was spiral rotini, which we really liked. The meats were moist and tender. I especially liked the Turkey. My only criticism is that I feel the BBQ sauce to be a bit thin for my liking, but it was still tasty. We will definitely return.
