Pretty good BBQ. Friendly service.

In town for a few weeks, 3rd time here in the last week and half, server is friendly and the food is fantastic!

Excellent place, great BBQ, fun location in the middle of nowhere but accessible.

The barbecue we got was great, but the real surprise was the sides. Vegetables are fresh and not overcooked, and I ordered scalloped potatoes which were fantastic!

The chicken club sandwich and the trolley car burger are my favorites! The fire roasted artichokes appetizer and their soup of the day is delicous! I love how they keep the skin on their chicken. Hubby and i cant stop coming here everytime we are in town! It is a must try! And you will keep coming back! Havent gotten a chance to try desert since we are sooo stuffed after our main meal...even after starving ourselves all day! Its usually, if not always, EMPTY! So privacy is great! Very attentive wait staff and always nice! Love castroville because of this place! (: always wish it was 5 min away when im at home in SC!

Looks like more of a diner from the outside, but the food is surprisingly of a high quality and absolutely delicious. If you're driving through the area and you're hungry, this is the place to go.

Neat place to grab a bite to eat. The portions are pretty big and the staff is nice and friendly. Anything grilled seems to be a win.

Experience cooks.. they use to work at Monterey cannery restaurants. My favorite dish .. fettuccine Alfredo with Atlantic sallmon.. and the fried calamary..

Great food, large portions, clean bathrooms, casual beach setting but table service (not counter service) We ordered the half rotisserie chicken and steak sandwich. The steak was a whole NY strip cooked to order (medium rare). The rotisserie chicken was lightly seasoned and cooked well (but perhaps on the slightly dry side). Served with homemade salsa or BBQ sauce. The scalloped potatoes were home made as well, soft all the way through and fantastic!

This place is a well hidden gem! The service is spectacular and the food is fantastic!! If you have a chance, definitely stop in. Best tri tip and burgers, unfortunately that was all we could try in one sitting. Going back again for sure!!!!

Food is mouth watering good I will eat there again. The place is quaint and cozy. People there are friendly. And the outside looks like a trolley car. I ordered the customized plate with the tri-tip which had teriyaki sauce on it plus also barbecued pork rib which is about an inch thick then we just falls off the bone at the mixed vegetables grilled macaroni and cheese which was homemade.

Passed by this restaurant with a sign that says tritip and then I went! Staff were really nice and service was really quick. Food was delish! Ribs and tri tip were so good! And desserts too! Definitely going back! Worth the drive!

Diamond in the ruff!!! For less than $40, my wife and I got the delicious trolly burger and the chicken club as well as the chocolate bread pudding A la mode. Highly recommend a stop in. Service and food were very very good.

They focus on great grilled and Bbq foods, delicious desserts and friendly service that was very quick. We had tri-tip grilled, brisket, grilled veggies and jicama coleslaw. All were excellent. Meat was tender and properly cooked. For dessert we had pumpkin bread pudding which was incredible. A great place all around that worries about their food and not the decor.

Great place to eat service with a smile but the food fantastic! I've tried many of their platters and every time is another great experience love it I recommend it 100% you won't regret it, try the chicken club sandwich or their calamari sandwich or their grill artichokes.

What can I say, this is the quintessential small town joint that unfortunate people drive past un knowing of the deliciousness they just passed by. The California tri tip sandwich is a massive and tasty offering that exceeded all my expectations. I did not have to eat the rest of the day, so scale to price was great. But the flavors had me thinking about tri tip long after I left california.

Visited on Valentine's Day, 2016. The fire roasted artichoke was incredible, as were the grilled veggie's, Brisket, Sausages and Rotisserie Chicken. Oh, the fresh lemonade with lavender was excellent. I'll be taking a bunch of my friends to this great find!!! Thanks for the memory

I love this place. We just ordered a Cobb salad and it’s what a Cobb salad should be: fresh barbecued chicken, great ingredients! The cream of broccoli soup actually tasted like broccoli, you could tell fresh ingredients were used to make it. The bread pudding was also amazing! Great service! Awesome twist on an artichoke- grilled with a drizzle of (olive?) oil and balsamic vinegar- so good! We had the half chicken, grilled salmon and wedge salad with prawns. Everything was perfectly done, maybe could have used a touch more seasoning/salt, but actually awesome for someone watching their salt intake. Highly recommend and will be back with hubby who has hypertension.

Even though the service here is sometimes hit or miss, the cuisine is consistently good. The service when it misses isn't for lack of trying, just that sometimes they seem understaffed. Today I had the Bleu Pig, and the service was a hit!!!

I had 1/2 grilled chicken with augraten potatoes. 2 hours later my stomach is still purring. Larger inside than a trolley car but it really is one . This is a good choice for better barbecue. Coffee was in the top 90 percentile too.

A trolley car inspired resto that serves good american food. Quite busy when we came so it took awhile before we got served. I’d say the place was a bit warm ( no proper ventilation) and their bathroom is not appealing per se but functional non the less. Over all me and my fam had a great time. After all it’s the company that makes it worth the while :)

They have good, sometimes only decent(does anyone try their own food except"chefs"), food. There was one time it was even great, but always a little pricey(depending on what you compare it to)considering they have some of the most unhelpful people working there.

My husband and I had lunch here for the first time. This is a small but cute restaurant. We were greeted and found our seats. My husband ordered a wine, but it was not available nor was the potato salad he ordered. My cobb salad with grilled chicken was okay.

Though my salmon burger was cooked well. It was priced at $20. A little steep for Castroville. Don't you think? The pull pork was way too salty. My husband couldn't eat it.

I called in an order that usually comes with salad. when I asked about the salad, they said it does not come with salad for takeout. okay!!! then when I got there, they had my order wrong and then when they fixed it two of the items got cold while we were waiting on the third item and I got home to find out I did not get my garlic bread!

Went here for lunch with my family and was majorly disappointed. I got the shredded chicken tostada salad that consisted of large chunks of non shredded chicken on top of lettuce that was so drenched in dressing that I couldn’t pick it up with my fork it was that soggy. And my tostada was set upon a scoop of flavorless watery beans that again drenched the bottom of my tostada making it quite gross. My family was happier with their meals (they both got sandwiches) but once we got home both my mom and dad felt sick and we’re racing to the restroom.The seasoned fries were the only good thing I had there

Not a local. Drove by and needed bbq for three. Bought the family meal with ribs and tri tip and two sides. Paid close on to $70. This is the worst bbq I have ever tasted. I feel they stole my money. Ribs were hard and cut side wise so the bones were split. No smoke ring. No flavor. Took five min to chew. Ends were raw. Tri tip was pretty much raw with a grill sear (NOT a smoke ring.) and then it looks like it was just grilled with some onions. Slice so thick and was so tough you couldn’t chew it. Feels like they used the lowest quality meat cuts they could find and are selling it at prime prices. Mac and cheese side was just like what you get out of the blue box. Bread was ok. Escalloped potatoes were raw in the middle. Service was very nice. Good staff. This is just horrible food.

Half microwave chocolate bread pudding with wilted brown mint leaves. Tri tip sandwich ok. Beef great. Bread old. BBQ sauce had way too much vinegar. And the mac and cheese was the hands down worst I have ever eaten. It tasted like it had been in the refrigerator just soaking up the fridge smell and tasted. Don't eat it. I spent over $20. And to be honest I want my hard earned money back. I won't get it but don't waste your money here!!!!

I had an unfortunate experience here today. The young man working there shows no care or concern for mistakes made and lacks professionalism. The chicken piccata had NO breading. I asked for broccoli and got scalloped potatoes. Two plates were missing the French bread. I called and the young man said I could go back and pick up bread and laughed. And then when I brought up the chicken again, he said the breading probably fell off. No apology. No solution. No offer to remake the chicken. You lost a customer. The food isn’t cheap, I expect this McDonald’s.

I only went over there as Salinas City BBQ was out of brisket..So if you want the best brisket go to Salinas City BBQ hands down the best all around.

I only went over there as Salinas City BBQ was out of brisket..So if you want the best brisket go to Salinas City BBQ hands down the best all around.
