Opinions de Nall's Irish Pub & Restaurant Central Park South
Great neighborhood bar. Friendly staff, good food, decent prices. I come here every time I'm in town. I appreciate that it's filled with locals and not overrun with tourists.
One of the best bars I've been to since returning to NYC recently. Lovely bartenders -- even Niall himself bartends once in awhile -- and dark, quiet, in a good way. Highly recommended.
Great fun , really nice Irish girl Sarah behind the bar. Really good pint of Guinness and finger food. Only passing through NY but will be back.
Great effort on the black and tan. Food was great, though I really wanted to have the pot stickers. Bartender was quite friendly and approachable. All around a good experience.
I haired to pass this bar in a random Saturday so I decided to stop in and see what it was like. It was styled more like a pub than a bar, they had cider on tap, the bartender was friendly, and the food was good! (I ordered a chicken quesadilla.) Would I go there again? Yes. Would I recommend it to friends? Also yes. It was a nice, casual atmosphere to pass the afternoon.
A brilliant Irish bar. Authentic atmosphere and feel. Will definitely be back
My wife and I went there for a late dinner and found the food delicious and tasty. The Service was very responsive and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Enjoyed the wings, the Cobb Salad, the soup of the day, and the drinks. We will come again for dinner and drinks.
love this place. Casual but with nice atmosphere and very nice decor. Plenty of tv's for sports and reasonable drink prices. They have a beer on tap including the standards and stuff that can vary. The have good food and the staff is friendly. It's good enough size for a large group. It's close to mass transit and other venues so it's a good meetup spot and good for pre-partying before heading out to more expensive spots. I'd definitely recommend it since it's a nice after work spot as well.
Classic little Irish bar off the beat. Staff are so nice that it brings everyone together. Natalia at the bar is hilarious. Food here is proper tasty. The blackened chicken sliders are soooooo good. The wings delicious. And did i see Gazpacho ? Whopper. Will definitely reccomend
I love Niall’s! When I was on a project in NYC this was my go to place for dinner. His shepherd pie is wonderful and filling. Many opportunities for live music and if you’re in luck you may get to meet Niall himself! The staff were prompt and attentive at all times, yet never intrusive. Go for a meal or go for a drink, you can’t go wrong with this authentic Irish pub!!!
The only thing better than the comfort food was the service. The bar keep went above and beyond to serve our family with genuine hospitality and humor. Would recommend and definitely go back!
Stopped by for a drink - fast and very friendly service. Lively crowd, really nice atmosphere. Didn't get any food but the dishes I saw going by looked and smelled delicious.
Great little authentic Irish pub. Great people, food, a hidden gem.
It's an Irish bar, clean, friendly staff, a unpretentious white collar crowd, and quite affordable. The size of the seating area is impressive. Seems like an easy place to hold events.
We love it here, non touristy bar, great food, friendly, attentive staff, always go in on our trips to NY from the UK, see you all next time
Nice old Irish pub with cute barmaids. The Guinness was fresh and cold. The place serves good but we didn't eat. We went there to watch the end of a football game. There are plenty of TVs at the place from which to watch sports. I would definitely go back. The place has a certain charm to it.
The atmosphere is very cozy. Steph is very welcoming.
Went to Niall's after seeing "Almost Famous" on Broadway Saturday night. We arrived right at midnight. We expected the bar to be open, but the kitchen was still too. And we were starving! Everything was delicious. We ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and the Appetizer Combo Platter. The bartender & her service was fantastic! We'll definitely be back!!
Easily one of the best Irish bars in and around NYC. Friendly atmosphere, decent price on drinks and solid bar food. Whether you're looking to grab just a quick bite, watch the game or looking to get our for the night with some friends and drinks, Nials is absolutely worth checking out. Update: Still a great place for good drinks and laughs. Now, I'm sure it's a health code issue, but the bartender Conner should be wearing booty shorts.
Came in on 01/03/2025. The bartender only works Saturdays and he was a blast Made us all feel so welcome and really made our visit to New York. Had a great chat, some great drinks and will never forget Niall’s on 52nd Street
Beautiful, friendly barmaids and the food is as decent as it can be until late. We spent last two evenings (despite other options) here as we felt welcome. Barmaids busy with locals but still attentive and friendly. We spent a fair amount of money here as we felt the bar and its staff were worth it along with the Sports on tv. It meets a nice mix between attentive and giving you space as a group. You wont be chased but you will be attended quickly once you make yourself noticed. If your after less busy but welcoming bar for your sport. Hit here and soak it and the people in 👌
Excellent place in every way. It is well put together. a step back in time to when life was simple. The food was top notch. I had the chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and arugula salad for lunch and it was perfect. Each of the 3 items were perfect. I am definitely coming back here and to drink next time.
Wings were great. Large order, crispy, really good blue cheese. I asked for a side Caesar salad and they were happy to make it. Solid Guinness pour
Good atmosphere and food. Service was a bit slow, but the waitress was smiling and cooperative
Nice little Irish pub! We ordered the chicken nachos for an appetizer and it was delicious. For meals we ordered chicken tenders, salads and grilled cheese. Everything was good and our waitress was very sweet! It was right around the corner from our Courtyard Marriott hotel which was nice as well. We would definitely go back!
My wife and I had a bad encounter in this place, but after placing my review, i got a very quick response from the owner. We got refunded and are very touched by the gesture. Unfortunately the owner is not always in, so mistakes can happen. We will revisit this place when we are in town again!
This is one of my favorite pubs in New York city. The service is always top-notch. The food is very good and the atmosphere is great for hanging out and chatting even if there's a game on the TV.
Best chicken pot pie I've had in a looong time. They found a great spot to sit us with our kids away from the main bar area, and service was still great.
I am not one to write reviews but since I am retired, I guess am turning over a new leaf. The wife and I were in midtown Manhattan and I was showing her where I used to work a LONG TIME ago. We were passing Niall’s on 52nd and decided to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat. The atmosphere of the place reminded me of Cheers. The books on the wall were a nice touch. I got the feeling that if I still lived in NY this would be the place, I would go to watch my Knicks games. The bartender Sarah was amazing it is very obvious by her presence she thoroughly enjoys what she's doing, very attentive, and she has a very welcoming smile. She made our drinks perfectly and even took a second to engage in a little small talk. The food was good, the wife and I split a plate of fries. The only suggestion I have for potential patrons is to bring cash because there is a CC fee. I will definitely stop by Niall’s the next time I am in town.
This place will make a medium rare burger if you ask them to and it’s great. Most places when you ask for a medium rare burger, they bring it well done, not this place. Drinks and food are both good. I think $12 for rail whiskey is a bit pricey, but I geuss that’s nyc. Their Monday night bartender is slow af, but every other night had great service.
The restaurant has a special quality that draws people back. Employees handle orders quickly while remaining pleasant. The benchmark of quality. This restaurant completely met my standards. Part of me wants to keep this discovery private.
Was looking for a chill pub in the city to have some good eats, a good brew, and to soak up some NYC experiences. This was a great choice. Awesome energy in here and a great menu. Friendly service too! I had some of their spicy wings with a chicken pot and was thoroughly satisfied. The pot pie was legendary. Def recommend this place.
This is an Irish pub, period. No frills. Good drinks, good people, great time. They will change the TV station for you if you ask, so don't be bashful. Everyone we ran in to that worked there was Irish as well. Overall a great experience!
Very quaint and cozy place. The bar is up front, restaurant in back. Lots of good options and a fairly reasonably priced menu. (And a reasonable lunch menu!) The restaurants in the area can be overwhelming and this little hole in the wall is an incredibly refreshing find. A huge plus? The food comes out hot and fast!
Delicious food and very reasonable price. The pub is comfortable and homely and the service was quick and friendly. Just one waiter on his own and he kept every table ( about 7 in total) all served quickly and checked in to see everything was OK. Overall the best meal we have had in New York on our trip!
Best meal of our trip!!! My 7 and 8 year old were able to find something on the menu and they enjoyed it. My Old Fashioned was so good, I ordered a 2nd and would have had a 3rd if time allowed. Fish and chips was delicious.
Always love it here. It's perfect for my travels, my diet, and great annoyance.
Niall’s was recommended to us by some friends as a kickback almost neighborhood bar. The assessment was pretty spot on. We stopped by for a few drinks before heading out to dinner, my girlfriends and I absolutely loved the place. They have a lot of great drink options and the daytime bartender Sarah was awesome and extremely helpful since I never know what to order. She made me an old fashion that was out of this world. If we didn’t have reservations we would have definitely stayed longer. We will be returning.
Called in needing to watch the England v SA rugby match. Owen was the perfect host, setting up a TV to show the game, pouring some decent pints and providing some decent bar snacks. A very enjoyable couple of hours, especially at England lost!
We had lunch. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. My wife had the smoked turkey sandwich, lentil soup, and a salad. I had the shepherd's pie and lentil soup. The lunch bill was 25 bucks total. What a deal! Of course they had a complete draft beer selection. Highly recommended.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn next door and decided to try them out! Wow is all I can say! They have a great selection of food and offer a great deal on their lunch specials! Not sure of the guy who worked the bar but he made me some Irish tea that was delicious!
12/10 spot on a cold evening!! The shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, and zucchini fries were the table favorites! Amazing service from Masud and cozy, warm area to eat in. We loved it! Thank you!
Decided to stop in for a pint and it’s the closest you will get to an authentic tasting Guinness in NYC. Staff is friendly, no frills and relaxed vibes. Definitely would go back again when in the city.
INCREDIBLE LUNCH SPECIALS!!! $9.00 Sandwich special! I ordered the pot pie but i saw this special on the menu.... that's a great price to sit down at a table or at the bar and be served a nice meal at lunchtime. Prior review: $14.95 and $16.95 includes soup or yummy salad. Absolute best lunch deal in Manhattan. Burger, chicken pot pie, sandwiches, etc. Great dining area in the back. Chicken pot pie is delicious! Crust is perfectly light and crispy (philo). Could use a few more vegetables but otherwise outstanding. Great waitress. Next time I'll have the Shephard's Pie. :) Update: Tried the Shepherd's pie and it was delicious! Love that you can get such a great lunch here at such a great price.
As a regular at Nialls I can hands down say this is the most welcoming, comforting, and lively bar I’ve ever been too. Every server truly cares about making your experience better, and the food is fantastic (the blackened chicken always!) Nialls has transformed my experience in New York and I couldn’t be more grateful to this little community.
Pouring with rain so we, family 2+2, went in for a drink and lunch before heading to the airport. Nice food, good atmosphere and made to feel welcome. Can't ask for more really.
As a guy from out of town I was looking for a spot to have a drink. It was next to Hilton. The staff was amazing, friendly and fast. The atmosphere was laid back. The bartender made the atmosphere, everyone here loved her and she was fun and friendly. People were welcoming, I would recommend this bar to anyone! Go in grab a beer, have some good convo and enjoy the vibe
Came in for a beer for MNF. Service was great, fun crowd and the wings smelled amazing!! Definitely going back to try them.
10/1/25 best-run pub I've seen in a long long time. Barkeep and runner/server really know how to operate a pub 🍻!Excellent service, food was unexpectedly top-notch. This is how it is done.
Visited Niall’s on my trip to NYC and was not disappointed. Great Guinness and great atmosphere. Nicole and her colleague were amazing. Will definitely visit again!
We went to Niall’s around 11 pm when all the restaurants were closed and we were not disappointed. The food was really good, but the service was amaizing. Bartender/server Darragh made the whole evening better. Telling us great stories and making tasty drinks. We recommend to everyone to stop by.
Wouldn’t take long to start to love the fact that you’ve stumbled into a little piece of Ireland. Nicole was extremely accommodating, and made it fun to watch her interact with all patrons as much as possible. Regulars were apparent, and were more than likely returning for the same sense that welcomed you through the door in the first place. Highlight was the Guinness replacement after the gas was switched out…something wasn’t right, but was made right as soon as possible…needless to say that the Burbon was an added touch to an already decent experience and I’m leaving on foot for more than one reason. If you like an Irish pub - you’ve found the place.
5 Stars – A True Irish Welcome I was hungry and happened to spot this Irish pub out my hotel window — what a great find. From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming and made me feel like family. The vibes were warm and genuine, the food hit the spot, and of course, the Guinness was perfect. I’ll be traveling back and forth to NY more often for my dad’s treatment, and I think I’ve found my bar home. Grateful for a place that feels this good. See you all again soon!
Just stopped in quickly. Had a beer and their brownie with whipped cream. Beer was Youngling and brownie was small, but yummy, but $16 was not really worth it. The atmosphere was nice, though. Cozy and friendly.
Worth stopping by. My cell phone died on me. This Irish pub have plug points under the bar sitting area. You can charge and surf the net. Their WiFi didn't work. Too slow, thou I was the only customer on a 24th of December afternoon. The food appeared good as a group of young locals came in to celebrate Christmas. I was tempted to try the steaks but carefully chose chicken wings, except they came with a fiercely hot spicy sauce. Otherwise quieter pub in Uptown area
Great pub, nice ambiance …
Great little pub! I love their hand cut fries. Friendly service - and both times I've been there it's actually been quiet enough to have a conversation! Amazing for a pub in nyc at 9pm.
Unassuming and traditional Irish pub. We visited Niall's for lunch and a pint. I was impressed that they had Smithwick's on draft. I had the bangers and mash - which was delicious. We received attentive service as well. Decent prices for Manhattan, as well!
Nice local Irish Pub. didn't try any food but some others at the bar had food which looked good... Close to the Marriott Courtyard and next to the Hilton so a nice place to visit after a days work. Great bar service. Fast and friendly.
Outing with coworkers returning to the office that turned into a pub crawl. Missed dinner during this time, strolled into Naill's, asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open, kitchen closes at 1am. Was able to order fish and chips to get something in the belly. Food was satisfying but a tad greasy, which was ok given how the time and how close it was to the kitchen closing. The Guinness pour was pretty good that a second one was needed. Enjoyed this spot and I am glad it is surviving. 🍻
It is a beautiful architecture, just gorgeous. Less so inside. Two excellent restaurants in there and a nice concert hall.
We got takeout when we were staying next door at the Hilton Garden Inn. Asked for our burgers medium well, they were bloody. Very small portion of fries. Overall, not worth the $.
First trip to NYC, thankfully this place was very close to our hotel. We had a late night dinner. We both thought the food and beer was really good, and we enjoyed the lively atmosphere. I had Guinness and shepherd's pie. My husband had fish & chips and Smithwicks. The service was great. I would recommend and would try it again
Niall’s is a brilliant pub, with amazing staff, a great food menu and plenty of drink options. The Curry French Fries are awesome and go well with the Cider. Great place to watch sports on the many TV’s around the bar and this adds to the atmosphere. We were staying in the Hilton Garden Inn, Next door so ended up in Niall’s almost every day of our trip, either for a nightcap or lunch. Will definitely be back next time I’m in New York.
Good for drinks, but the burgers came out charred and the soup was a 15 minute wait
Waitress/bartender too involved in social media on her phone rather than wait on the patrons. Took forever to get a drink and even longer to get the check, because she was constantly on her phone. Great little spot, however staff is not attentive and easily distracted by their social media accounts. Zzzzz! Chicken pot pie was pretty tastey.
Interesting pub, their cocktail and beer selection looked fine. We stopped in for convenience for lunch one day while in town visiting. The menu isn't very big and they don't appear to be accommodating to various food allergies. On the way in I noticed that Chicken Fajitas was one of the specials, so opted to do that. I asked that they add cheese and they did (which was appreciated). My dining companion got a burger, which he said was 'meh. The bartender was our waitress and they weren't very busy. She didn't seem all that excited to see us, let alone actually wait on us. I realize we probably sat a little ways from the bar and that was a total turn off for her, but the section was open so we took advantage of being away from the bar. Again, we went for convenience so really didn't expect a lot. I'd suggest we got what we expected. Had we been there to drink, I'd almost bet we would have enjoyed our time more. Thanks for reading my review.
Use to go to this place every week until they got rid of the bartender Sara! She made the place what I knew Niall’s as! Been back in one time since and safe to say I won’t be going back! The vibes completely different but I will miss those wings!
This was an interesting visit. Six of us arrived for dinner, three of us ordered fish and chips. Two people ordered chicken pot pie, and the other person ordered a cheesesteak. The fish and chips came out first, followed about 10 minutes later by what was identified by the server as a cheesesteak. It was actually a ham melt on toast. When the server was told it was not, she said it was and that it should be looked at a little closer. She was asked to take it back. 10 minutes later she returned with a cheesesteak, but no chicken pot pie‘s. The manager came over a few minutes after telling us the cook quit and his replacement does know how to make it. They then ordered the fish & chips (which was very tasty)Oddly enough I would go back, the manager and the server were very gracious.
My singing group has gone here for years and we have a holiday karaoke party here every year. The drinks were never great, the food is fine, but it's a big open space, so we keep going back. This year they decided that since they were overbooked, they'd move us to a different, cramped location and shorten our time - - without telling us. Our last time patronizing this bar.
I think I found my new neighborhood spot. Place is open late, Guinness on tap. Nice local spot for UESers. A 2021 update: I think I'm the first person to be kicked out of an Irish bar for being too drunk 😂😂😂😂. How is that possible I'm just a girl lol. Haven't been back since. The chicken wings were still slammin tho!
Stopped by since it was close to our hotel.. food was mediocre traditional Irish pub style.. Guinness was great but I ordered my favorite scotch and got something else.. wasn't worth my effort to question. Go for the Guinness and watch sports on tv.
Good place to drink I guess, but the food for mid-town was mediocre. The service was awful as the server was more interested in eating and chatting with guys at the bar. Twice I had to walk to the bar and ask her for a fork, a refill, and napkins. Waaaay too many quality places in this neighborhood. Won’t be back.
Charged for 5 beers when only 3 were consumed, $16 dollars for a salad and when I get to the room no dressing! $16 for a tasteless small portion Shepherd's pie! Frozen veggies and instant mash. Not to mention had to wait 30 mins for the two. Owner should wake up and take a closer look within instead of pacing the bar back and forth pondering why it was so slow on a Saturday night.
I was so disappointed with my visit to Niall’s! Natalie the bartender was so rude and was so cold and hostile. She served every guy before she even acknowledged my friend and I. The way she spoke to other staff members was absolutely appalling. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will not be returning. It was a New Years to remember!!!!!!!!!!
Went there for happy hour but the drinks were ok. The bartender was very rude and always seemed like she didn’t want us there. The place was pretty empty yet they took forever to get to us.. but certain others got serviced quickly.
The food and drinks were great. The atmosphere was great. Unfortunately the female bartender with the Irish accent had terrible customer service. She couldn’t wait to get rid of us.
This place was awful. The bartender/server/waitress was rude and acted as if we were bothering her. The food was NOT good, there were 6 of us and only 1 person was ok with their food. The water was served warm with no ice given, it was just an all around terrible experience.
We came here for a drink and desserts before heading home. The bar has a dark vibe but it wasn't very loud. They had the game on several TVs but there was no sound. In the back, they had tables with a cozy vintage vibe. They had books on the walls which I liked. Since it wasn't busy and there was one person on staff, we sat at the bar. When I sat down noticed a small mouse running around by the tables. I was put off food wise by that. My friend mentioned it to the waitress and she didn't really care so I guess she knew there was an issue already. I think she might have called someone to get it looked at. My friend ordered a drink and a slice of cheesecake. As I can't refuse sweets, I did have a small bite. It was pretty standard. It wasn't overly sweet and had a creamy taste. Bring cash as they do charge a 3% credit card fee.
After three years of the best bar experience I’ve ever had .My girl Sarah is no longer there. Things are simply not the same. If anyone knows where she is please hit me up. Comfort Security and service means the most to me. I can buy beer any where.!!!!!’ I need a welcoming energy!
November 19, 2022 update. Service so bad I ended up walking out. This place used to be crowded on Saturday night, but it wasn’t tonight. I can see why after my experience. Walked in, no one behind the bar. Stood around several minutes waiting for someone to come out. After about 10 minutes I decided to call. When the phone started ringing the woman sitting at the end of the bar crawling all over the guy sitting next to her got up to answer. So I walked over and asked if I could get a menu as I’d like to order. Sure she says. I go sit down, peruse the menu, then wait, and wait, and wait. She finally walks by, I tell her I’d like to order, but she begs off and says she’ll be right back. Then proceeds to schmooze her way down the bar. I wait another 5 to 7 minutes and realize I could be there past midnight at this rate even if she takes my order. If this is typical, it doesn’t bode well for a once great pub. Too bad Great local tavern. Good food and a friendly bartender. Decently priced drinks.
Connor was an ass. My fiend was opening a tab, maybe he misheard but he offered him a recipt, my friend didn’t tip, thinking he was opening a tab. Connor then provided to come to our side of the bar, rip our drinks out of our hands and threatened us, asking us to leave. It was disrespectful and rude. Certainly wouldn’t go back.
conner the bartender took the drink out of my friends hand and told him to leave immediately because he didn’t tip, even though it was a misunderstanding and he wasn’t even done ordering drinks.
Called in early today to watch some sunday football and grab a drink. Poor service, poor atmosphere. The server on the floor looked to be doing a good job. The Bartender today seemed to be new, he got our order wrong. We sat for 20 mins with empty drinks. Waited 40mins for 2 appetisers which came out wrong. Then when we paid and signed the check he forgot to return our credit card after he swiped it. We definitely won’t return. Honestly, we felt ill after the food. I wouldn’t eat here again. Hell no. It’s a pity too because the tvs are good.
