Came in for the lunch special, great deal! 3 courses that were outstandingly good and you can tell they really make an effort and don't just slop some crap on your plate get their 20% tip and get you out of there like so many other manhattan restaurants do now days. The service was very attentive, staff was very nice, and food was very good.

Literally the best lasagna that I have ever had before. At first we questioned the smell of the place, but left very satisfied and couldn't wait to tell others about our experience. I would definitely return to Luna Piena.

I have ordered MealPal (to go) from here a couple of times. Great portion sizes (could almost be enough for two meals) and great food. I was VERY late picking it up one time, and they were very accomodating.

Amazing place for brunch, lunch or dinner! When you come here ask for Valon, he is not only knowledgeable about the menu, but also a great person. Valon is essential to what makes this restaurant great. I honestly would recommend any and everyone to come here.

Genuine, old-school pasta is one of our favorites. And great service, too! If you like the real Italian dish, here is the place.

Brunch was great! Mimosas were strong!

Strong mimosas but sparse service. Food palatable but not superior. Definitely a place to add to brunch club but not to double dip.

The Calamari and gnocchi were both good. Service was quick and friendly.

Great service from entire staff (server, hostess and busser). This restaurant has a relatively good Groupon (thus raising value of the meal) that convinced me to try dining here for relatively relaxed date night. The specials menu was standard: 2 appetizers, 1 fish entree, 1 seafood pasta entree, and 1 steak entree. The bread basket is composed of Italian white bread rolls and tomato and herb focaccia. For my party of two, the restaurant seated us at a comfortable four-top table. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the entrees' sides were. The medium rare ribeye was a fairly good cut but not the best I ever had for the price tag of $38. We had to send the first steak back because my medium rare steak came well done on a lukewarm plate. I normally accept a medium steak for a medium rare order-- especially when the restaurant is busy--but this large steak was overcooked to a point of chewiness. The server was gracious in quickly taking my plate back to the kitchen, while the busser quickly changed my utensils. I found this to be an appropriate reaction. Salmon was grilled to a perfect temperature. Overall a good restaurant experience. The server put an automatic 20% tip on the check before subtracting the $60 value of our Groupon, which is fair because the restaurant owners should not offer the discounted meal at the wait staff's expense.

Had dinner here recently and loved it. Wonderful experience all the way: delicious food, great attentive service and lovely garden setting. The lobster and seafood pasta special was excellent.

Calamari appears to be frozen, the veal was pounded paper thin, but was actually hard. For these prices, the food should be much better.

In the city on business for a day and had an excellent meal. Risotto special with mushrooms and sausage very well done. Staff was very attentive, maybe because business was light in the early evening. Kudos.

"3 of 6 did go wrong." Pappardelle and Risotto with white truffle turned out to be a mistake. The price was gem-like, but the pasta and the risotto were terrible. The Pappardelle was unevenly cooked and stuck together. The risotto was under-cooked, hard and dry, far from the creamy "all'onda" product hoped for from a "winning" dish. Check it out. I feel mislead, when an Italian restaurant can cook neither pasta nor alborio rice.

Food was pretty good but you can get comparable Italian food for much less money elsewhere. The bus person was excellent and provided prompt water service. The server took a while to visit our table for the first time but came back frequently enough after that. Be aware - drink refills are not included and are served in a very small glass. You'll be spending four dollars on half a can of coke.

My friends and I had dinner here last year for my birthday and the service and food were wonderful. We couldn't wait to eat here again. We decided to eat here again yesterday before our Broadway show and we were very disappointed. The service was definitely not up to par and the and the staff did not seem to know the menu well. The hostess was the same lovely woman as before but the new disorganized staff made our otherwise good meals seem less than average.

They suck bad service

I came here for a team lunch, with a party of fifteen. First of all, they seem to have forgotten our reservation. When we called 30 min before the reservation to confirm it, they asked "today?" as if they are surprised to know that there's a reservation for a large party. When we got to the restaurant, they only set up a table for 13 people. I mean seriously? We literally called ahead of time to confirm. Secondly, they have two different prices for the same lunch special prefix. If you want to update the menu, you should make sure not to continue to use the old ones. I'm writing this review before we pay the bill, so not sure how they would handle it. Thirdly, my colleague was trying to order a gluten free pasta dish off the lunch prefix, they wouldn't do it unless she orders off a la carte, which is twice the price. And when her food comes out, it was too salty as if they dump a bag of salt in the plate. Fourthly, they messed up 1/3 of the orders from our party, either they got the wrong dish or food came out very slowly. Lastly, the dessert on the prefix menu says gelato/sorbet, but they brought out ice cream, which forces my vegan colleague to give up the dessert. I wish I could give zero star.

I had dinner here with my family a couple of weeks ago.. what a mistake that was. It was a Saturday night around 6pm. My family and I were eating dinner, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. A table with a miserable couple sitting across from us asked if we would "keep it down." Baffled by that, we continued on with dinner and tried to be mindful of others sitting around us. Shortly after that, we were told by the manager to "shhh" because people were complaining. Oh, I'm so sorry we were laughing and having a good time out to eat. I wasn't aware we were eating at the library. We decided at that point we didn't want to continue on there and asked for our check. The manager had nothing to say to us even though she knew we were leaving because we were no longer happy there. Although the food is decent , I will never go back there again. Beware if you are going out to eat here .. the management is rude and you clearly can not have any type of fun.

Tuesday at 1pm, maybe 1/2 full and 2 waiters. Day for 10 minutes before having my order taken. Another 10 minutes for salad, which they got wrong. Then 25 minutes without anything. Had to leave for Dr. Appt 5 minutes away, so paid most of check and left without even seeing our meals.. 2 people ahead of us had same complaint but received their meals in a take out bag. Now I'm $40 poorer but wiser. Never again

We just had an early dinner here. Really bad compared to what this restaurant used to be. SAD!! And they put a 20% tip to a mediocre dinner. They claimed they had no regular prosecco just rose. Then suddenly a bottle of regular appeared. Not worth 500 for 5 people. Bad bad service and mediocre food.

Food was flavorless and extremely overpriced I used a Groupon of $ 60.00 and they add service charges of $35.00 and they included gratuity of 20 % so be aware service suck and they don't even know there own menu .the place look ghetto but ghetto for real . Overall I still pay $145.00 on the top of $60.00 Groupon a just my wife and we don't even drunk wine just soda and pinapple juice

Horrible experience... The manager I think is a poor and selfish person. He treats so bad to his employees in front of his clients. I just heard that his pay check was not ready and he tried many times to get his pay check, how can be that possible?. Also the food is not good enough for the prices. I don´t recommend it.

Went here last night on recommendation from Courtyard at Marriott. This is no longer an italian restaurant it is Mediterranean and from 7pm to 8:30pm we were the only ones in the place. Food was mediocre and service was sad. I do not recommend.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. The service was beyond horrible and the food was mediocre. We ordered salads first - but it was inedible (the lettuce was old and wilting). It then became very apparent that the waiter forgot to place our order, as it took over an hour to receive our meal. During this time they never cleared our plates from our salads or checked in on drinks. Note that they were not busy during this time. The main course was fine once it arrived - but it is extremely overpriced for what it is. The manger never made a single attempt to rectify the situation, she seemed to care less that we were unhappy and was no where to be found when our bill came. Save your $$ and go to one of the many other wonderful italian neighborhood restaurants.
