Great food and service. Love this place.
I was craving the Cajun ribeye I had at Wollenskys last year. The bar was full so went to the back to their Grill spot. Hit the spot! The Cajun seasoning is soo good. Soaked up the sauce with the pretzel bun. It was 👌 If you like ribeye, get this with Cajun seasoning. It's not spicy, just flavor! The spot was busy and full of energy on a holiday weekend. Bunch of folks werw ordering their burger. I need to try that next time
The weekend 🍷 dinner is just a great time! Engaging and helpful waiters. Great selection of starters, mains, desserts, and sides... A great NYC night waiting to happen!! .
For those that don’t know, Wollensky’s Grill is a sub-section of Smith and Wollensky’s with its own entrance and a more casual and more spirited ambiance. Although the Grill has its own menu - call it Smith and Wollensky’s light, you can also ask for and order from the larger and more diverse S&W menu. We arrived at 10:30pm thinking the Grill would be empty but we were so wrong. The bar was packed but we were able to secure a table for two by the front window. We ordered the tuna tartar as well as half a dozen oysters to start and for the main course I had the NY Strip and my friend ordered the filet mignon. We went with brussels sprouts and the hashbrowns for sides. Everything was delicious. I would highlight the tuna tartar as being particularly good. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare. The service at the Grill was excellent as usual. In a New York City that is rapidly changing, it’s nice to know that there are still some things that never do.
Excellent service! Enjoy the steak and a nice cocktail, a delicious meal! I would recommend trying this place out. It is a little on the pricier side, so make it for an unforgettable experience!
I've been going to S&W for decades. I've visited all the TOP Steakhouses throughout NYC and the Boroughs. S&W is the ONLY one that is consistently VERY GOOD. It maintains the old time integrity, and they are the most attentive to their customers. Pricey? Yes, but beyond well worth it. They never disappoint.
My son treated me for lunch at this restaurant and we had a nice experience.I ordered prime rib medium rare ,my son pork chop, my husband burger but they were all delicious!! The side dishes mac and cheese and asparagus were good too! My husband mentioned to the ? Owner that it was my birthday and lo and behold ,to my surprise they brought me a carrot cake and the staff sang Happy Birthday, that was awesome !! They went above and beyond my expectations! We will definitely come back to this place! Highly recommended for sure!! Keep up the excellent job that you are doing !!
Excellent burger. Great flavor, juicy. Decent waffle fries. Open late on a Sunday night. Even though it was past midnight, server was friendly and considerate.
We had a delicious dinner and got served by an awesome guy from Porto Rico that made us laugh all the time. The service was exceptionally. Try the clam chowder and the burger !!! OMG! And the coconut cake is a dream . My daughter loves the carrot cake and I have to admit is one of the best I have had. We ate in the little patio extension that is fully enclosed and it was perfect for 4! Highly recommend this place if you want a great steak, awesome service and very well located to walk back to our hotel in Times Square area.
Omg everything was amazing! Mac and cheese was sooo good. Also the cheesecake was amazing!!
Had an anniversary dinner with my wife. From start to finish the experience was absolutely brilliant. Our starters (shrimp cocktail + tuna tartar) were good, but the main course was the real deal. We had on the bone rib and filet mignon and they were both just absolutely perfect. Meat was cooked to perfection and tasted really good. What was even more special was the service and vibe of the place. We had the opportunity to see Ali (hope name written correctly) take care of his bar with just awesome attention to his customers. In addition to that we had just brilliant personal service by Carter (once again, hope name written correctly). Anyone wanting to experience really good steak and spot on service, this is your place. Only downside is that this place is a Rangers territory, so any other Islanders fan, might want to reconsider 🙂
This restaurant was recommended by a hotel concierge when I asked for the best martini in Manhattan and he was not lying! From start to end, this was a great experience. I was immediately seated by the friendly host named Ryan who was eager to give recommendations and explain the menu to me. Then the service got even better (didn’t think possible) when Mike R. Came to the table. He was full of food and drink recommendations and was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend whether it be for a date night or a single lunch while exploring the city! Lovely staff, food and drinks!
Just wanted to shoutout Aaron, I had a guest at my job that came in late for a reservation. He ordered food and just happened to want another steak (Our kitchen was closed at the time) So I called you guys to have a steak made on the fly. Aaron was very accommodating and was going to make it happen. As soon as I ran out of my job to go pick up the Steak for the guest, the guest stopped me and said no it’s ok “You don’t have to do that” I hope the steak that I ordered didn't go to waste and I’m sorry if it did (I didn't mind paying for it either) But I just wanted to know that my inspiration came from the show “The Bear” where the guest wanted something that wasn't available in the restaurant and Richie ran out of his job to get the item (which was a Deep Dish Pizza) The fact that you guys were willing to make it happen means a lot and it show that you all carry the heart of Hospitality. I will definitely be recommending people to come eat here and I’m going to come in very soon myself to have a fantastic dinner. Shoutout to the Wollensky Team. P.S My hope is that everyone in Hospitality will one day; at the least, have a Richie Moment!!!
It was a crowded night. Long wait for our reserved table and some of the food was not as warm as we would like. But the service was impeccable. Would DEFINITELY come back. The oysters were divine.
Can't beat the prices at such an amazing restaurant. Great food and atmosphere!
I don't usually eat but I'm sure it's good. I go for the drinks and the after work vibe ...
I had such an amazing night and delicious food at Wollensky's grill. I am also very happy with the service and their attention to details. Monika made sure I made the right choice of the steak and it resulted to be the best steak I have ever had. A place to be definitely recommended and I will certainly be back.
Buzzing! Absolutely fantastic vibe. Steaks are superb. Service was outstanding. I love this place. Update April 2025. I continue to frequent this bar. In my mind this is one of the coolest, classiest and cosiest bars in mid-town Manhattan. And it's down to the bartenders and their support staff. They properly run this bar and it's joyous to watch and to experience. Have a filet mignon sitting at the bar. You will not be disappointed. Wash it down with a glass of merlot. What's not to love. I'll be back.
One of the best burgers i have ever had and the waffle fries were terrific. We sat at the bar and the bartender provided excellent service, but the food came out a bit slowly. This place is a classic!
Whether I go to the grill or main restaurant I always feel like family. Even if it's just me, or me and my fiance. They make me feel like an honorary member every single time. May this place never close. You guys are truly special and you bring such light even in dark times.
Nice place, good steaks ,very nice waiters, the whole experience was really good! Highly recommended
Wow. Where do I begin? First, a big shout out to our waiter Juan E. He was amazing! When I ordered a side of creme spinach and was overruled by the family, he brought it on the house (attention to detail anyone?). When my son and daughter ordered the same chicken dish, he recommended they split it, as it was a whole chicken. The whole night was like this, too many things to mention. Service was fantastic. Food was a solid 5 stars. The overall expressive was great! Unfortunately we were pressed for time as we were off to a Bruins game and even then they made sure everything was as enjoyable as it could be. Look forward to coming here again and seeing Juan and the rest of the staff as they were more than accommodating! Cheers my friends, you won't be disappointed. 🍺🍺
We reserved the wrong place, but they happened to have one hour before next reservation comes so they let us in. We ate fast and they served as fast as they can on a busy night too. Food standard still seem fair for the price range. Thank to the waiters for putting their neck on the line and not ruin our night, and also, sorry for delaying the next group for up to 5 minutes.
Not only is the steak and food to die for!! When my wife forgot her purse they were world class in resolving everything! We’ve been coming for years and won’t ever stop!
Exceptional. These guys certainly know their steak. Often not mentioned amongst the pantheon of 'best steakhouses in NY', but it should be up there. Enjoyed the Porterhouse for two and an array of sides and desert. The decor and ambiance was great and the waiter relaxed and amusing. Up there with one of the best steaks I have had.
Good expensive Bar Restaurant in Manhattan, we really love this place with the Family, we come here every holiday, the staff is polite, the prices are reasonable, this is New York after all, the atmosphere is cool, I recommend the 2nd floor, it's quieter if you want to sit with the Family. We were last on January 2, 2025. Happy New Year to all.
This was our favorite dinner spot from our weekend trip. Our bone in ribeye steak was one of the best I've ever had. And the pecan pie sundae was a delicious treat.
We went for a 17th birthday meal when visiting from the UK (this was written on our booking form when we booked online). We had high hopes when we heard other people having happy birthday sung to them. Unfortunately, that didn't happen for us. Not even a happy birthday was whispered to my daughter 😕 A little disappointed. At least the food was great! The staff was polite although they seemed very busy and weren't hugely attentive to our table compared to some others nearby.
Cannot recommend this place enough. The decor is stunning, the staff were great and the food was unbelievable. Compared to another place we had visited it was very reasonably priced for the standard of food we received. Walk ins were available however I would suggest booking in advance for larger parties or if its a holiday period. I'd go as far to say this was the best meal we had while visiting New York.
Excellent food (big recommendation for the Cajun ribeye), great atmosphere, and truly remarkable service - friendly, helpful, informative, attentive. A huge shout-out to Gabriel for making our family evening at Wollensky’s Grill truly memorable.
The S&W Grill is one of my favorite spots in NYC. I come here every time I visit the city. The service is ‘neighborhood’ style, which is unusual for a relatively touristy NY restaurant. The steaks are top notch and the sides are perfect. Make sure to finish it all off with a slice of carrot cake for desert.
I had a very late reservation after just flying into NYC, and despite the hour, we were treated so warmly. No one rushed us at all, which we truly appreciated after a long day of travel. The bartender was incredibly friendly, and even the management stepped in to kindly help us when we accidentally came in the wrong way. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were just as amazing. Everything about the experience was fantastic from the service to the food. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in New York!
Went in 2022 and went back this month. The price of food has not changed in that time which shocked me, the wine has though. Like last time the food was delicious and service very good. A few people arrived at the same time so we were all squashed into the little porch waiting for tables to be ready.
A Carnivore's Dream Come True! From the moment we walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance was warm and inviting, sophisticated and setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The first bite was pure bliss – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. You could tell that they use high-quality cuts of meat, expertly prepared. The service was also top-notch. Our server, wish I remembered his name, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. I can't wait to go back!
Wollenskys will always be my favorite steakhouse. Always Cajun rib eye, creamed spinach and hash browns. 1000/1000🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Have never been disappointed at wollenskys. Always delicious. Everything delicious. One thing I tried for the first time was the strawberry shortcake dessert. It's very very special and I could see myself having a seat at the bar when I'm craving some cappuccino and dessert and just ordering that. Great service too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We ordered a filet mignon sandwich (well done) and a filet mignon salad (medium) each, for lunch. My salad came very much well done, more so than the burger. That’s not a big deal as we came for the wine week, food is of lesser priority. The waitress started off great but towards the end of her shift maybe, she seems a bit upset. A customer near our table asked her if it’s because they had inevitably over stayed (similar to my table they had arrived 1ish; around 3pm there seems to be a shift change). Aside from this minor episode, the service is excellent including the gentleman who showed us our table. My advice for the wine week? Don’t start from the first wine on the list unless you are a heavy drinker. We were crushed by our fourth drink even though we asked for smaller pours. If I would to do it all over again I would go straight for the reds, a red wine (than white wine) lover myself.
Historical steakhouse restaurant. The food was amazing 😍 both the meats and the side were of the charts! The potato gratin is deliciously decadent. My only complaint regarding the food quality is that the desserts were not up to the rest of the menu. The chocolate cake was average. My main complaint is that the portions are gigantic, way too big for a single person. The bone in rib steak was a size that I usually share with two or three people easily. This is ridiculous! The room we were in was also very noisy, we could barely hear each other on our small table of four.
Excellent food and service. They were able to fit us in at the last moment and provided amazing service. We had a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and a steak salad and a prime rib for dinner with grilled asparagus and waffle fries for sides. We also each had a glass of The Seeker for a drink.
Went to dinner with a friend. I ordered the filet mignon and a mixed green salad. We shared whipped potatoes and spinach. He had the salmon and pea soup. You can share the sides. There is more than enough to share. He loved the salmon. I thought the filet was okay. I needed a steak knife to cut it but it was not soft enough. I expect to be able to cut a filet with a butter knife. Nice atmosphere and very clean bathrooms.
A friendly and warm ambiance, great service and the waiters really pleasant and cool. The steak quality was high. I came to this restaurant for my birthday an amazing experience to have, they sang happy birthday to me with joy and gave me a cake on the house. I truly enjoyed this restaurant, good food and great staff. PS: If you like Mac'n cheese you should try theirs on the side.
I live in Spain, where quality of ingredients is second to none and so every steak is measured against that. S&W is about average. The meat is not as mature as I would like and served thinner. That being said, the taste is decent enough.
Great food same as the full restaurant but a bit more of a pub atmosphere.
How nice to have such a world-renowned steakhouse downstairs. I go there often and always order a dry age ribeye. See picture - I take home the bones, and two days of bones make a good stew. Service is a hit or miss thing, but I don't mind it, as long as the meat is tasty. When it comes to service, now you know why the Fed need keep raising rates and keep the rate at an elevated level for an extended perioid of time to cool down the economy - unemployment rate is too low, and the service industry faces a shortage of quality labors. Inflation arises from labor cost and from wealth effect, not from merchandise.
The service, atmosphere, and presentation was outstanding. The crab cake was very tasty and crusty. The Ceasar salad was one of the best that I have ever tasted. My wife had the chicken. It was delicious and huge. I opted for the Riley and the sear and crust was just as I expected, wonderful. Our side to share were the au gratin potatoes, not a fan. It could have been a bad batch. Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
Pay close attention to your bill. overall food was amazing, service par at best never asked for refills til we asked ourselves for them
This is the bar section of Smith and Wollensky steakhouse. It is open late on Saturday and Sunday when the regular restaurant is closed. A nice more casual feel. Nice staff. You can order from the bar menu and the full restaurant menu. Clean facilities. New York City prices so bring your credit cards. Give this place a try for in the area. We will definitely be going back.
I came here on Thursday afternoon. I ordered a pea soup and a New York strip steak. It came with free, delicious bread and butter, and I even received complementary espresso. I enjoyed the pea soup, but I’m not sure about whether it worth the price tag ($16). I guess it is 3-4 stars given the price point. The New York steak was well cooked, i enjoyed it; I asked for medium rare, and a medium rare steak I got. Two small suggestions: there are a little bit too much burnt meat (turning into a blackened charred layer of bitter crust that I can smell 3 feet away) and it was not salted before delivering (I can use table salt, but given the dark ambient, I could not see the amount of salt very well).
Recently, I visited Wollensky's Grill for an early dinner with a friend. The service was great, and the ambiance was pretty nice. We both ordered the Grill Sirloin medium rare, which was average at best, and we were disappointed. The calamari appetizer was OK and hash browns was actually good, but I was expecting way more from the stake. I wish we had gone to the Smith & Wollensky next door.
it's ok. first cup of coffee barely lukewarm. prime rib hash was certainly unctous and rather one note till i chopped up the extra wheel of onion on my partners burger plate and mixed into the hash for some texture and counterpoint. imho should be served with a side of sauteed spinach. burger cooked to medium rare as requested but why serve it with waffle fries that are obviously manufactured and bought by the gross? if in 'n out can make their own fries, so can you. if not, roast some potatoes. minimally. nice and clean restaurant. good service. maybe time, tho, to take a fresh look at the menu and how it's executed.
Food was good. Service was bad. The waitress was really condescending and was acting as if she was doing us a favor instead of doing her job. Took a lot of time to bring the check, we were charged twice for an item and when we noticed she acted as if we were wrong and didn’t even offer an apology. Even though the tip should had been 0 we tipped about 15% and she seemed unhappy. After all that bad service tipping shouldn’t even be expected.
Went here for my wife's 50th Birthday, as the it was recommended by a friend. Nice welcome, lively atmosphere, nice table....Good service.....food only ok though.....order wrong, steaks overcooked, and a beef hash left swimming in a combination of oil and water......certainly NOT worth the price paid for the meal. Sorry guys, need to do better...left disappointed 😪.
Extremely disappointed with the service tonight. We felt nothing short of ignored by our server. The food was fantastic. Drinks and conversation with the bartender on the restaurant side was the highlight of the evening. Our drinks were empty and our completed dinner plates sat in front of us for thirty minutes once we finished. Being from NE we had high hopes. Food was excellent, service fell short at any price point.
The steaks were great, the clams casino not so much. Crab cake was ok. Tuna tartar was delicious. We joined for the wine dinner and the waiter definitely treated us like we were on a Groupon. Unfortunate as It was a good deal, great steaks, decent wine and I would go back if the environment was more enjoyable.
Always hit or miss for me. I've gotten really good steak here, but have also gotten fatty gristle pieces as well. The wait staff is prompt and professional and atmosphere is like a high class pub. Everything is great, out wish there was a little more consistency in the cuts of meat. Perhaps I need to stick to the filet.
This place doesn’t skimp on portion size. The martini was basically two in one, which I’m definitely not complaining about. The split pea soup was delicious and could easily be split, no pun intended. I didn't care for the caesar salad as it lacked dressing, flavor, and the hearts of romaine were bitter; they served me the throw away section. The summer special came with a large 16-ounce filet mignon — double what I’m used to. While large, it could have used more seasoning or salt. There was table salt and cheap already ground pepper, I used both. I also ordered the bread and was pleasantly surprised with a generous variety of fresh, different breads. If you’re hungry, this is your kind of place. Though it does seem like a boys night out type of place even though they really pack you in, trying to make use of every square inch, which I don't prefer. As for the service, it was friendly but very slow. I'm not curious to try any other menu item so this was my first and last time here.
Nothing about my experience makes me want to go back. I booked my reservation online and specified that we were celebrating our engagement from the previous night. At no point did anyone mention or address the celebration. We waited for about 5 minutes at the entrance before anyone approached us. The server completely forgot about our appetizer. He did not really apologize for forgetting or offered to compensate for forgetting by either bringing it over still or comping something off the bill or offering us dessert. The prime rib was a 1/5 stars. The ambiance was ok. The server did not stop by, possibly out of embarrassment to check on us to see how the food turned out. Honestly, maybe we just came on the wrong night but I would not recommend.
I was jonesing for prime rib, and it’s been a while since I had been here. The food has always been sensational. I met a British friend for what he considers a necessity: prime rib lunch on a weekend. I must say, I was deeply disappointed at S+W’s offering. The meat was over 1/3 fat, impossible to eat. I had requested medium rare and it was very rare. I knew that if I sent it back they would just put it on a grill and bring it back to me, and that just doesn’t work with prime rib. The waiter was lovely and the creamed spinach was perfection but I’ve permanently crossed them off my prime rib list. A not inexpensive meal, and I would have expected far better from Smith and Wollensky, which I have always considered a NYC institution.
Disappointing visit to Wollensky's Grill. Ordered a medium-rare Bone-in Rib Steak which was clearly fifty percent fat. Mentioned this to my server who simply didn't acknowledge my complaint - so my disappointment is both in the quality of the food on this occasion as well as in the total lack of response by the server. I've been to Wollensky's Grill many times before, and recommended them just as often to others - this is sadly the first time I've had good reason to question their usual faultless quality and service.
I expected much more from a well-known institution like Smith & Wollensky. The prime rib was barely warm, almost room temperature, and the creamed spinach wasn’t heated properly either. To top it off, the food took over 30 minutes to arrive. For the price, the quality and service did not meet expectations.
Wow! What a tremendous disappointment from a place I’d really enjoyed before. Here’s the TLDR: service was haphazard, meal was lacking flavor and just generally poorly executed, and the price (even by NYC steakhouse standards) was simply not justified. More details for those interested: Made a reservation for dinner at Wollensky’s Grill with a friend this past Saturday. We waited at the front for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, were finally told by a server that someone would be right with us, then waited a few minutes longer before a host eventually seated us. (To be fair, the bar was pretty crowded when we walked in, but the wait time was definitely excessive and a sign of the lackluster dinner to come.) We were seated in the extended dining room that’s been built off the side of the building. It’s fully connected to the bar and well heated, so it’s by no means an outdoor dining enclosure, but the tables are really tight and it’s completely devoid of any atmosphere. It’s a much quieter experience than eating in the main room with the bar - depending on your party this might be desirable for you, but it’d be nice if they offered the choice (either when making the reservation on Open Table, or upon arriving). Our waiter was perfectly competent and nice, though I had a really excellent waiter last time I came in which probably altered my expectations of the level of service to expect here. We requested the full menu from the Smith & Wollensky’s dining room next door and ordered the Caesar salad, prime rib, bone in rib steak, hash browns, and creamed spinach, along with a bottle of Cabernet. The Caesar was spectacularly average. I mean it didn’t taste bad, but I could have made the same thing with any of those generic grocery store boxed Caesar kits and a head of romaine for 1/4 of the price. The two sides were probably the best part of the meal, and even those were a bit forgettable. The hash browns in particular were crisped really well, but didn’t quite have the richness I remember them having last time I was here. But let’s get to the reason most people are coming here to spend their money: I ordered my ribeye medium rare - it had a decent if inconsistent char/crust, and a nice color inside. Unfortunately, I found the texture to be a bit too chewy throughout, instead of having the little bit of melt-in-your-mouth tenderness at the center of the cut that I find ideal. Far worse though, was the absence of any of the depth of flavor I’d expect from a dry-aged steak, and not nearly enough salt. My friend ordered the prime rib medium rare, and when it came to the table almost completely grey, we were a bit nervous. The inside did turn out to be perfectly cooked, and I found this had a bit more going on than my ribeye did, but I certainly wouldn’t call it mindblowing, especially at $78. (I’ll also add that while I don’t understand the logistics of a kitchen this busy churning out prime rib at different temperatures, we did spot another table with a prime rib that was perfectly pink around the outside, so I’m not sure what happened to cause the one that made it to our table to have such a poor presentation.) Overall, I walked away from this dinner feeling disappointed and ripped off, with a bill totaling $350 after tax and tip. I last ate here on a Saturday night in 2017, and it was one of my most memorable steakhouse experiences ever. This dinner is sticking in my mind for much different reasons. I originally thought I’d give it 3 stars, but the feeling has only soured since last weekend and I can’t recommend you eat here unless your dining budget is such that you can stomach spending $150-$200pp on a potential letdown. I’ve dined at several other restaurants in the Quality group recently and had good experiences, but on this night Wollensky’s Grill just wasn’t it.
Ordered filet mignon, lamb chop, steam Lobster, soft shell crab, clam chowder, asparagus. Filet mignon: burnt residue on the skin, tasted so bitter and bad, ruined a beautiful piece of mignon. Lamb chop: okay-so-so for the price and the place, cant comment. Steam lobster: wasn't fresh as the meat is stuck to the shell. Simple test. The one i had in boston was much fresher and tastier. But i got a parking ticket due to expired meter. Clam chowder, i bought one from the ACME grocery store in Philadelphia was much better. They added bacon into the soup and it overwhelmed the true taste of clam chowder. Asparagus: big and thick, okay. The best food was the bread. But we have to request ourself, the servant didn't initiate to give as it was a busy night. The servant was okay, he did what we asked to do so but upon request. It was a busy night yet he accomplished our request and charged 20% gratitude without my concern. Lastly, the pen was out of ink, im not sure the servant saw it or not as i showed the receipt towards his face and he glimpsed it. We expected to pay a higher amount of money for our last night in NYC Because Wollensky has a long and good reputation, but we didnt expect such a low and disgrace food taste. Seriously, the steak my friend cooked was much better. At least there's no burnt residue on my filet mignon. Hope they will improve in the future or discard foods that are failed.
Went here to treat my best friend for lunch @ The Grill, and had a terrible experience. Have been going to S&W for years, and never had a negative experience. The waitress was completely miserable, making the entire lunch terrible. She was rude and down right fresh. We are easy customers, ordered a couple of drinks, an appetizer, and 2 burgers, very simple. The waitress never came over to take our inital drink order, and barely was seen the entire time. When she was at the table, she was rude and miserable and in a big rush. I understand people have bad days, but we literally are easy going customers and people, and were expecting a delicious lunch like we have had every time here in the past. A total shame, will never be back. Amazing how 1 person can ruin a special lunch.
I Ms.Russell had a reservation for today, September 3rd, at 8:00 p.m. Upon arrival, the hostess was rude and full of attitude. My family and I (party of 4 ) entered through their Third Avenue entrance and were ignored and told to walk around the block to the grille entrance on 49th Street, and that was fine until we approached the entrance, and no one was there to greet us . The hostess was smoking a cigarette outside and left us in the small waiting area near the steps for 15 minutes . A Caucasian group of two women entered, and the hostess flew inside the restaurant to assist. I stargazed for 15 minutes without being seated. Even when being seated, he didn’t walk us to the table; he pointed to a table from the entrance of the outdoor dining, which left me confused because my reservation specifically said indoor dining. Finally, after being seated, it took 20 minutes to be brought water, and the waiter gave me what seemed to be a discounted lunch menu. It was most of the food on the regular menu but maybe the lunch menu prices. I’ve been there for dinner before and never received such a menu . I don’t know if maybe my complexion made them assume I didn’t have economic value; however, I exercised my abilities elsewhere. After waiting 20 minutes, my party and I escorted ourselves out and had a wonderful evening at LAGOS .
This used to be one of my family's fav places when in town. Last night we received horrible service and the food was just ok. We waited for awhile for a server then we ordered appetizers. . We were undecided on the entrees but told the server we would order entrees. The server never checked on us. About 30 minutes later we see him leaving and he says oh someone else is coming to take care of us. After waiting we had to ask the manager for our new server. He was ok but it took forever for our food to come out. We were so aggravated that we requested the check and boxes. The server did not offer to pack the food, which is typically offered. We will never come here again, Del Friscos will be our go to from now on.
Extremely disappointed on food. I ordered calamari: greesy and tough, NO fresh at all. Branzino was overcooked and extremely dry (to cover up it was NO fresh). Two expensive steaks cooked NOT as requested and served cold. NEVER again at this restaurant (attached, branzino photo: $37 a portion... awful)
Very disappointed third time I ordered takeout and items were missing. This time especially upsetting because I specifically asked the bag was checked based on my last 2 experiences. The waiter brushed me off and said yes it’s all there. Multiple items missing. When I called the women was less then accommodating only offering a refund for missed items. Was extremely rude like I wasn’t being truthful There are too many great steakhouses in nyc to have to deal with this. Mistakes happen but it’s the third time in a row. And the rude attitude is not necessary
Overall it was a really disappointing experience. To start, I had to wait almost 10 minutes to be seated at my table when there was no one else waiting, the host was MIA. The food had ingredients that were not listed in the menu, and made the food unenjoyable. We ordered dessert, and asked a question about it after it arrived as we were not enjoying and the server dismissed it. The espresso martinis were not drinkable, they tasted like a dive bar, and we were not asked if we liked it milky or not. We ended up leaving them on the table. The server did not ask once if we were enjoying our meal. It felt like a fast casual dining experience rather than a high end steakhouse
Came all the way from Times Square to have the amazing burger and the cop salad that we read about. Our total time and seat was about an hour and 20 minutes. My hamburger had to be sent back twice and the Cobb salad was missing several ingredients. We talked to the host and expressed our displeasure and I still got brought over a bill for the two drinks that we had. If someone spends an hour and a half of their life waiting for food And leaves hungry everything should be taken care of. Unsatisfactory will never come back again and will be called a general manager to request a full refund for the drinks I was charged for.
