I had a great experience at Nations Burger! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Everything tasted amazing and the portion size was perfect. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to—highly recommend!
Their breakfast isn't just a "morning menu"—it’s a powerhouse. Whether you’re going for the fluffy pancakes or the classic eggs and hash browns, everything is cooked to order and served in portions that actually satisfy a real appetite. The hash browns are consistently crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which is the ultimate litmus test for a great diner.
The staff here are really nice, and really pay attention to your order to get it right. It's 3pm on a Friday and the store was clean, smelled good. My dessert was what I started with and sooo good My cheeseburger and fries were reminiscent of the old days. At a time where all the fast food places are using fake food you absolutely know when you come here that you're getting real homemade quality food. I suggest people start coming here to spend your money and they're about the only place that's not trying to kill us. Assassin's polite, the place is clean.
All I had a taste for is a slice of chocolate cream pie and the selection was absolutely amazing when I got there I a tough time deciding because everything look like it was so fresh and delicious. The owner was absolutely kind and friendly and professional. I decided on a slice of chocolate cream pie and went to use the ladies room and it was clean and tidy. I definitely will be back
Nations have the biggest and tastiest hamburgers. They also serve breakfast all day and have the best pies in CA. No joke. Every pie I've ever had there is very good and they have baby different kinds. Including a creamy and delicious cheese cake variety. Fruit pies, chocolate pie, and my favorite banana cream pie. This restaurant has been around since the 1950's in the bay area and are just now franchising and are in the Sacramento area. Grab their pies for the holidays. They will be busy during that time but use half the restaurant just to sell pies.
First and foremost, the man who served the food, Kamal, was absolutely friendly. A prime example of this is when he rung up the order, there was an initial misunderstanding with one bag of fries instead of two. However, despite this, he gave an extra bag out of pure kindness. My dad has always talked about how delicious their cocounut creme pie is; therefore, it was an instant must-have item from the menu. The entire order consisted of a coconut creme pie, two orders of grilled chicken sandwiches with fries (Of course, on both orders), an Oreo shake, and a chocolate shake. All of which looked, smelled, and tasted fresh, showing the restaurant's dedication to providing the utmost quality when it comes to the food and drinks they provide. Even when taking it from Citrus Heights to Elk Grove, the food maintained it's excellent quality as if it had just been ordered and made. The chicken sandwich had, without a doubt, reached the expectations, as it was quite impressive it looked as it would on a menu, and even had grill marks on there, which adds another layer as most restaurants that serve chicken sandwiches do not add any grill marks whatsoever. The sandwich itself was incredibly savory, with the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the chicken patty itself. However, one additional aspect that stood out was the sauce that was used. Although it was most likely just mayonnaise, it added to the chicken sandwich, and complemented the taste of the onions, giving the overall sandwich an excellent taste, perfect for lunch. The fries were equally as amazing, as they're cooked in 100% canola oil rather than any beef or pork related oils, which felt like a relief. The combo paired together quite well, and it was an enjoyable meal. As for the coconut cream pie, it was wonderful, the cream had such a savory texture and flavor, it felt not too thick nor too thin, striking a significantly perfect balance. The pie itself was excellent, with the coconut truly shining flavor-wise, and each bite was just more enjoyable than the other. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent place to go to for lunch, and a customer inside even mentioned that their breakfast is amazing as well. Lastly, the service adds to the restaurant experience. This is, without a doubt, a must-visit place, and I will definitely visit this restaurant again.
I just got my first pie from Nations, and it's such a pleasant place with incredible pies! The coconut cream pie ranks among the best I've ever tasted. I'm eager to try their other pies and dine in given the fantastic menu options. I'm also particular about restaurant cleanliness, and this place is excellent!
The five stars is because I am so incredibly biased. I have been eating at Nation's since I was a kid and it is comfort food to me. It is one of my favorite places for chili cheese fries. Their cheeseburgers are epic. I typically order them without dressing (aka mayo) because it gets the bun really soggy. It isn't bad with mayo, just to be clear. This location is comfy and clean. The entire staff is super friendly and they get orders out quickly. It is also a great place to go to if you like a BIG and hearty breakfast.
Love this place for lunch. It takes a little bit to cook but it is all fresh and grilled right there. They sell slices and whole pies. They also have great breakfast items too. I usually have the wild Alaskan salmon burger. So good with cheese. The establishment is always clean and the staff is courteous. Bathrooms are tidy too. If your hungry why wait go now.
Has the feel of an old burger shop. The food is good. The service is pleasant. I love that the burgers are cooked to order and have a good amount of vegetables. But if you are going, try the pies. It’s a tradition for me to get one of their strawberry tarts in June. It’s basically a small strawberry pie, and it’s delicious.
Long time ago ... Lol! Before they open the Sacramento location. I had to 🔴 stop and get my pie fix in the hood/ Vallejo location 😅 I remember making a suggestion on opening up here in Sacramento. And here we are! 🤗 Banana Cream pie anyday ever since! 5/2023 I think this Burger joint is under rated if you are looking for quality, taste, and value and good pies 🥧 of course this is your place.
I was here years ago and it didn't make an impression on me. But my son and I tried it recently. My prodigal return was more enjoyable. It has that old style diner feel and even the burgers have that half way between restaurant and home-made taste. The breakfast is pretty good and there's lots of other comfort food options too. And the pie case begs you to make a choice. I like pie.
Had the pie we had been looking for. Was of good quality, Wish it was closer to our home

This is a place to enjoy great pies with outstanding crust, just like homemade. I ordered a chocolate cream pie and a banana cream pie. It wasn't the first time, and definitely will not be the last.

I really like nations. Ill come in frequently and buy the hamburgers. But im here today not to talk about the food or the service. Instead we need to think about the bathroom use policy. The last few times ive came in the bathroom is foul smelling. It always smells the same. So I assume its the same person that wrecks havoc on that bathroom I mean they really come in and assault it. The smell Lingers out into the sitting area. You cant even go in there to wash your hands with out it ruining your desired to eat. You try to hold your breath the whole time but you'll still smell it in your nostrils. Covering your face with your shirt does nothing at all. Like honestly if its an employee that does that, take that war to Dennys. Go in to Dennys and drop bombs there and come back to work after, Your customers will thank you. You probably could even benefit from seeing a doctor. But if its the same customer that comes in and does that you really should have a talk with the customer about the level of lingering stench they can leave. Tell the number 1 only or say that the bathroom is closed. At minimum get bathroom spray and air the place out after whom ever is doing that. Get shop fans and air it out in no time. Even better make sure the person doing it sees you do that so they get the hint.
The Real Deal is Nation’s Giant Hamburgers & Great Pies which delivers on pies! Let’s start right off with service which was really good, no wait so order in quick. The person working there had excellent attitude and personality. The food was prepared fresh and timely. Now let’s go over the atmosphere that needs a little more for sure. It had some of the classic photos and history which I know and love but it needed more. The classic creamery style needs to be stepped up. Onto the Main Event the Food which had really fresh ingredients but it’s an American burger which needs a little to elevate it to a five star this was not it. I have the Bacon Cheeseburger which was good (7.5-10), the fries need some work (5-10). The Sliders were delicious (8-10) but it needed some garnish (veggie or something else to bring to the next level). Overall, this location was good but Tracy California location is the best.
I am no stranger to "Nation's Giant Hamburgers" as I frequented many of their locations when I used to live in the Bay Area. Since it had been well over two decades (my last time eating at one of their locations was around 1998-99), I figure I was due for my Nation's fix. This takes me on a trip to the Sunrise Marketplace in Citrus Heights where I finally had the opportunity trying their delicious burgers. Located directly on busy Sunrise Blvd. and just north of Madison Ave. in Citrus Heights, this Nation's location has been around since late-2011. Which is very surprising considering the amount of eateries that come and go; particularly in this part of town. I came here on the evening of Friday 8/27/2021 at around 6:45pm. Parking was very easy to find and there were a ton of open spaces available. And many people may not know this; as of late-2021, this is the only Nation's Giant Hamburgers in the Sacramento area with many of their locations in the Bay Area and a few locations in the San Joaquin Valley. As far as the inside goes, this place is very spacious. Considering there was only one other customer dining in during my visit, the place had plenty of available seating throughout with a significant amount of tables and booths. I almost consider the look and feel of this place resembling a small modern diner; especially since they specialize in sweet treats such as their famous pies with over a dozen to choose from. They also have a large dedicated breakfast menu as well as chicken sandwiches, fish burgers, BLT's, chili dogs, and of course what they are known for which is their standard burgers. Since I wanted the burger experience, I went the simple route by ordering a plain "Hamburger" with everything on it, a side of fries and a drink. Total price came to around $12 (after tax). This place offers a self-serve fountain drink area and a condiment station which includes ketchup and hot sauce. After my order was ready, I was ready to indulge to find out if this place was as good as I remember. After the first bite, the overall flavor and taste was well above average. The burger was seasoned to perfection while the bun had the right amount of consistency. They also packed a ton of lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and pickles (as those are available upon request). The fries were soft on the inside with the right amount of crisp on the outside. Overall, "Nation's Giant Hamburgers" was an above average experience. Service was just average as many of the employees really didn't converse with me when I ordered or when I received my food. Keep in mind that this part of town has some competition with "Smashburger" and "The Habit" being less than 1/2 mile away. But for a delicious, generous sized burger, definitely give Nation's a try. My rating, a solid four stars.

Ya' know, Nations is just about, the only "fast food" I'll actually eat/ purchase, these days. This last time, they overcooked the patties. Until they were leather. The pies are still good here, purchased one of those this time. For burgers though, I'll stick to: Burgers & Cream or California. Can't say, I can support a place that turns their patties into leather.🤙
I've never been so disappointed in a hamburger maybe McD's. I ordered a plain cheeseburger no mayo or lettuce or mustard & ketchup & forgot to put on onions & pickles so it was really dry. The meat patty was small too & flavorless w/two slices of.cheese. The fries were cold by the time I got home & soggy. The soda was good. Haven't tried the pie yet but that looked awful good! I'll let you know that another time!
So I have come to this location many times and have felt welcomed and respected until this most recent visit. I requested for the pancakes to be in the tin this is not the normal Togo box for them. They did it, no problem 🙂. My issue was the rudeness and being ignored. I made this purchase on Thanksgiving day and assumed due to the holiday they didn’t feel like being extra kind and tried not to take it personally… It unfortunately became obvious when three separate customers came in after me and received a completely different energy. I was not greeted when I walked in at all but was definitely seen. Groups after me welcomed and greeted with a smile. I was ignored at the register and the young man spoke to the elderly white couple behind me before even though I was in line first and had been there longer. Out of these three groups I received my order LAST one was a call in but the other two were cooked and ready before mine without an apology or anything. And I mean anything, when my food was ready the young lady called my number and put my bag on the counter no “thank you” “here’s your order” she literally said nothing didn’t look me in the face or anything. It’s one thing to be unhappy at work on a holiday, I sympathize, but to see that I literally was the only one mistreated and ignored is gross and cruel. Will not be spending money again also I left a cash tip at the register with the young man who rang me due to feeling for them working on holiday and was still ignored… go figure
I went to try a salmon burger but, I thought it was similar to a filet but it was a salmon patty that my sister recommended. I'm not a fan, plus it only comes with a mayo instead of a sauce with flavor. It was pretty bland and I didn't allow them to put the mayo on because I would've liked it even worse. If I go back here I will try a cheeseburger. I paid for the salmon sandwich so I ate it.
The place looks better than the food tastes. It was fine for greasy dinerish food but it definitely felt overpriced. Sara greeted us pleasantly and took our order which might've been the highlight of the experience (other than the satisfaction of hunger). I don't think we'll be visiting again as there are definitely better burger places out there, but it was a nice enough visit overall. We got burgers, fries, onion rings, and a shake that we ate there, as well as a piece of peach pie we have yet to try.
Order took about 15 minutes to get. Place not busy at all. French fries were not cooked. Still pale color and barely warm. Onion rings were really over -coated but I liked them. My husband didn't. …

I went in with my business partner for a late breakfast, there was one person working and servicing the clientele. She did not speak English or at least not legible. Are bacon and eggs and sausage and eggs took almost 30 minutes and then it was nothing but low-grade diner food. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible ambiance. Maybe play some music in the place have a couple of nice helpful smiley eloquent employees and nations would be a cool spot. Do not waste your time or money.
