Awesome dive bar, with grt barman who was working his tail off! The band Secret Sauce was off the hook!

First time visitor, bartender and staff very cool, fast and efficient. Good selection of beers and cocktails.

Closest thing to "Cheers" in the east bay. Friendly bartenders, great drinks, and if you happen to be there for one of the food events, you're in luck. Check out the chili cook off, also.

My BFF from high school, told me to meet her and her husband here. So my son and I did. It's been 30 years since I have seen my friend from Pinole Valley HS. She lives in Idaho now. I can't tell you enough, what a wonderful time we had here. The Bartenders Owners, and everyone that was there last Saturday, were all the most wonderful people ever. Even my son 27 year old son, had a great time. Thanks for the great hospitality, to this place. You guys made this reunion, so special to all of us! This is not the best photo of me, I'm adding it anyways.

We stopped into the Saloon the other night on our way home from work and my boyfriend and I had a terrific time listening to live music, chatting with regulars, and checking out the local pictures on the walls. The place is decorated top to bottom (there are truly boots and bras hanging all around) and it's just full of a fun and friendly vibe. Even a small library of books in the corner next to the skill-claw grab-machine game (which is stocked full of stuffed animals and some adult prizes). It had been years since either of us had stopped in here but bartender Rebecca made us feel at-home and welcome. We didn't stay very long, but it was just long enough to make a mental note to come back soon.

They don’t serve food, but you can order from the neighboring spots and bring it right in 👌🏼. Always good music, relaxed atmosphere, and a real historical gem in the area. Definitely make your way over when you can — it’s the perfect laid-back bar to be part of.

Update 2025 - the wife and I really enjoy coming here on Saturday nights to dance a bit with live music. There is always a band, a friendly crowd, a pool table, and fire pits on the patio. Open till 1am.

Post Mt Diablo summit hike, sore feet needed a medicinal beverage and the Clayton Club Saloon was just the solution. Live music on a Sunday afternoon with football on the TVs. Great bartender and the decor was a bonus. Solid choice for an afternoon stop.

Good local spot, not too busy and new owners keep on making nice updates. Great selection of beers on tap while keeping all the stuff that's made this place special for so long. Better outdoor space, TVs and new furniture nice upgrade. Good spot to sit back and enjoy a few while watching a game or taking advantage of the shade as it starts to get hot.

It doesn't just look like a cowboy bar, from the old west town exterior to the boots hanging from the ceiling, it actually is. They have a real, modern hitching post out back for horses, which I have seen in use multiple times. The main crowd is very California country and very welcoming. Live music , pool and during the summer a beautiful outdoors section make this spot very much worth the visit. If you love dive bars like I do, you will truly find a gem in the Clayton Club Saloon.

Best big little saloon this side of the Mississippi! Rustic honkytonk that's been around since the 1800's. Always a great crowd and music! Bartenders are friendly and cordial! If you haven't been here, plan your weekend party here!!!

I, Danny Cronan, play music - "A James Taylor tribute" , with Jimmy Phelps usually once a month. This is one of my favorite little clubs that Jim and I use for "tuning up" our duo.

Great place to hang out shoot pool and dance to music mostly western themed. There are some good pool players guys & gals.

This is a country place with boots hanging from the ceiling. The dance floor is small. But there's a large outdoor area.

Fun place to relax and have a few drinks. Great outdoor area to enjoy fresh air.

The clientele is very friendly on Saturday night. I liked all the cowboy boots on the ceiling. Most of the Saturday night crowd was over age 50. Drink prices are reasonable. Live band with no cover charge

Great local flavor. No foo foo stuff just regular people with good conversation, decent prices. One of those cool far away locals places but nearby.

The bar itself is ok. A dive western style bar. However there were some regulars that were openly and loudly being racist. Using the N word, etc. Not somewhere I’d recommend.

Came in at the clayton wine and art festival, super busy and can totally understand when everyone is ordering drinks and it can get a bit hectic. Standing in line for about 15 minutes with money in my hand with no response from the bartender. Finally two guys in line tell her I was before them and she comes on over. I tell her I've been waiting and I understand that's it's been busy and she gives me the worst attitude and told me that if I wanted to drink I should go back outside to the wine festival. I get my beers she throws me my change and continues serving. Thanks again Rebecca for the great service !

We purchased two 12oz cocktails served in a plastic cup and paid $25.00 per drink👎🏻. Drink prices extremely high considering we had just ate dinner at Limons in Walnut Creek and purchased a bottle of wine for $48.00. I’ve been there numerous times in the past and never experienced these gouging prices. Maybe that’s why there was not the usual packed crowd. Won’t be coming back here again.
