I found this place while passing through the town. The fish and chips, was finger licking good. Everything is made fresh and served hot. They also provide great tasting sauces and Cole slaw on the side. Definitely recommended. The wall decors was off the hook "They were amazing!!! They were very fast with the service and super friendly. My photos will tell you the rest.

I went to the Cortland location when I was vacationing in Ithaca. Food was great. Shocked the fish was this good so far inland but it was! If you like fried seafood this is your place.

I got the fish dinner which is what I typically get when I go to Doug's fish Fry. As always portion sizes were very large, please take that into account when ordering. I enjoyed the fish sandwich coleslaw and french fries good as always. My only complaint was the table felt sticky like it needed a deep clean other than that a very enjoyable experience

If the enticement of enticement of fried food is calling, Doug’s has the answer! We sampled a number of items and all were solid in their respective categories. The haddock (which we ordered without a bun) was surprisingly meaty and had great texture, definitely a step above what I was expecting of a faster food fish and chips. Most impressive to me were the shrimp and bang bang shrimp. Even at mid range restaurants, where wait staff takes your order, the batter seems to be hiding inferior shrimp; not so at Doug’s. The shrimp were also meaty and moist and a bit larger than I had expected. The caramel sauce on the pre-portioned custard Sundaes stood out with buttery sweetness, however, the “Phone Home” with peanut butter was our favorite, followed by the caramel, fudge and Oreo, then the Snickers, fudge and caramel. Online ordering was a little unclear when trying to order combination meals. Staff were friendly and helpful at pickup. I anticipate going back for the haddock (and the Bang Bang if I want fried shrimp).

Stopped into Doug’s FF in Cortland, we like it there, food is decent👍🏻 we especially Like their coleslaw and generous cod portions, grilled salmon is ok (usually serve only at dinner time but we were there at 2:45 so nice of them to make it for us) Yesterday was odd however, we sat down in a booth next to a window and we swarmed by mosquitoes?! We killed at least 4 and I got bitten twice, and we were indoors. Was going to say something but didn’t want it to fall on deaf ears… hopefully management looks at reviews… Maybe need to safely bug bomb the place…?

Decent food, except for the very lightly breaded onion rings, crumbled apart easily. Sauce was good. Cashier didn’t know the difference between a 20$ and 10$ bill, they missed 10$ in change, granted they are pretty young. But they took responsibility and promptly gave me the correct change. Overall it was pretty good.

Not what I expected. It isn't a sit down restaurant; more like a fast food place. You order at the counter and wait for them to call your name. I was hoping for a nice seafood dinner with a variety of items, such as fish, a few shrimp, maybe some clams and scallops with a baked potato. They don't offer anything like that, so I ordered a fish sandwich with onion rings and coleslaw, but they were out of onion rings. The fish portion was large and had a good flavor. The coleslaw was not objectionable, just average. My only real issue was the $20 it cost. Coleslaw and soda is not that expensive, so the price is a little steep for a single piece of fish on a bun.

We have frequented Doug's for years, and while we've always been satisfied with our purchase - this one was a little different. I ordered the clams and my husband got the fish. Both of those were good, but the onion rings left a little bit to be desired. I pictured in my mind thick, crispy rings, "Zebbs" style. Although the serving was generous enough, what I received was flat, limp rings with the breading falling off. I'm not sure if the trip home from Cortland to Tully had anything to do with it, but it looked like nothing but a pile of breading. I guess I was expecting better quality from Doug's. The picture is of half a plate, since I did eat them & not let them go to waste.

We Stopped into Doug’s Fish Fry as I thought it was more of a sit down restaurant. It was the sort of place where you order at the counter and pick it up yourself - cafeteria style where you get your own drinks and utensils with plastic trays. I wanted to go elsewhere, but my friend said it was hard to screw up fish. I ordered the fried shrimp, onion rings and Mac & Cheese. The portion size was large. The food was mediocre and the Mac & Cheese tasted sharp - maybe it was the cheese. It seemed like a lot of tasteless batter on the food. The onion rings also looked like strips. I already took an Omeprazole for the heartburn I’m bound to get. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

The service was fast but the food is lacking in flavor and fresh options. However, if you absolutely need something quick to pick up for the road this isn't a terrible spot.

Always good food on everything on the menu.Check your pickup orders though, bout two months back I had a scallop dinner, got home and it was fish. Charged on receipt as scallop. Today I felt like seafood so I came in at one pm on a Monday. Nice staff, food was ok. Only set back that will limit my choice to go to Doug's next time was price. Clearly not the lunch spot for a working guy. One fish sandwich,no sides,and one milkshake. Twenty one dollars and twenty one cents. Yes one sandwich,one milkshake plus tax came to over $21. Sign of the times......just not for a working guy or family......

DON'T BUY DOUG'S GUMBO! Ordered a cup and got rice and gumbo sauce with one small piece of chicken. NO shrimp or andouille sausage as advertised. Since it was takeout, I didn't discover it until I got home, so no way to complain to management. Lesson learned... check it before they pack it !!

I think it's time I speak out. The past few times we have gotten food here wasn't a very good experience. Yesterday was the worst, I had ordered Fish nibbles and scallops. Both were over deep fried! Couldn't really eat them. The scallops were like chewing on a rubber ball. Very disappointed yet again.
