Opinions de Yoshinoya Cupertino
Haven't had Yoshinoya since I lived in SoCal. So when I found they had one here in Cupertino I had to go. Cheap, quick, and taste right on the money. Can't be beat.
Yoshiniya is excellent, healthy, great tasting and fast food. It is not cheap but moderately priced. You get the app there's some great deals all the time plus they send you specials every couple days. That makes eating at here affordable, healthy and delicious fast food!
As long as you're not expecting the same menu as Yoshinoya Japan, this is a better option (you can get far more vegetables) than other fast food chains. I ask for extra soy sauce for the gyudon beef to add a bit more flavor but plain is okay too.
Food is good as expected. Store is clean and delivery speed is super fast. My family eats at least once per week
Miss the Yoshinoya from South Cali, had to drive far to eat here. Food is always good, they even got good clam choder now. Always ask for extra ginger and green onions. Something that I have learned! Great service from the staff, with a smile, and fairly clean environment inside.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I finally tried Yoshinoya in Cupertino—and it lives up to the local buzz! Neighbors often praise it for quick, flavorful bowls at a great price, and my first visit didn’t disappoint. We ordered: * Tempura shrimp (crispy and light) * Spicy combo (chicken & beef, no veggies) with a sweet-teriyaki kick on dark meat * Regular combo (chicken & beef) * Classic beef bowl The chicken stood out—tender, well-seasoned, with that signature teriyaki glaze. To drink, I had the dragonfruit lemonade with boba—sweeter than I’d usually go, but still a refreshing pairing with the savory bowls. If you’re in Cupertino and looking for a taste of Yoshinoya nostalgia (without the international travel), this spot is a winner. I’ll definitely be back to work through the rest of the menu! #PaulEverHome @BayAreaWithPaul
Yoshinoya Cupertino – A Rare NorCal Gem That Still Delivers Location: Cupertino, CA (IYKUK) One of the last Yoshinoya locations still standing in Northern California, and thankfully, it continues to do what Yoshinoya does best—serve up delicious, consistent, and economical comfort food without overcomplicating things. Pictured here is the classic beef bowl with veggies—tender, seasoned beef layered over a bed of fluffy rice, paired with perfectly steamed vegetables, all topped with a dash of seasoning for a little extra kick. It’s simple, hearty, and exactly what you want when you’re craving a quick, satisfying meal. No frills, no fuss—just a reliable spot that keeps the Yoshinoya tradition alive in NorCal. If you’re in the area, stop by while it’s still here. Places like this are getting harder to find.
Quality is same as Japan. Ordered a regular beef bowl, and no complaints. Taste is good, and service is quick. This place is kept very clean, and the worker was cleaning with both a broom and mop, and every table was clean and there was no trash seen. Japanese quality and attitude towards service and cleanliness.
Probably one of the best fast food chains out there. Although it's been tough for the chain that expanded so fast in the '90's. This, I believe is the last Yoshinoya in the Silicon Valley. The Santa Clara, downtown San Jose locations have sinced closed. The only other store that I've seen in California is in Glendale. Today I got the beef and Teriyaki chicken Combo bowel. For the price, decent helpings of protein, along with rice and some mixed vegetables. The mixed veg is bland, but you won't find veg servings this big in any American fast food joint. The topping of sesame seeds and green onions is a nice touch. So overall, lots of protein for the price, consistant product, at good value. Ya can't beat that.
The brown rice and beef Gyudon was great. The veggies were a bit undercooked. The spring roll veggies also seemed a bit dated. I liked the new drinks. I had the Thai tea and it was delicious 😋
A nice little teriyaki style restaurant that has pretty solid pricing for decent food. They open early compared to most similar places at 10 AM so that's a plus as well. Food was fine, a bit too sauced but nothing was bad, I wouldn't go if I had plans but if I don't it's not a bad spot to get something small. Clam chowder is not it though.
The beef Gyudon bowl was good, not as good as Yoshinoya Japan but it was an 8/10, so definitely a repeat. The fired chicken was boneless, and it was a 6 or 7/10 for my taste. It was not bad, I just think that it's not my taste probably. The shrimp was excellent and a 10/10. The people in this shop are also very kind and friendly. Plenty of free parking and easy location.
Overall a very unimpressive experience, even accounting for the fact that it's fast food. I'd assume it's healthier than typical fast food chains, but taste wise and price wise I'd go for Taco Bell or McDonalds any day. The rice was very plain and not good; the vegetables are boiled and completely flavorless. The meats were okay, gyudon beef is definitely the best and the fried chicken isn't bad, the teriyaki chicken was mediocre at best. Overall pretty bad food at a fairly high price for the type of place it is.
So ummm...I just came back from Tokyo, Japan and went to this Yoshinoya in the Bay Area and it just does not compare to the one in Japan. I'm spoiled now. I was missing Japan and had to come here and try it. The food was average but decently priced for what you get in America. Got their combo XL and you get their beef and chicken combo with steamed veggies. The chicken was good but was not grilled or crispy(no skin) and just drenched with sauce. The beef was fattier or chewier. Steamed veggies was plenty. Also while supplies last, additional $3 added chicken nuggets which was the only thing I really liked. A fast food chain as we got our food fast. Plenty of tables here and it was pretty full like their private parking lot for a Saturday lunch. This fast food restaurant has been here awhile and needs updating. I was full from what I chose but was just not satisfied. Good even though for what you get, don't get me wrong. This would not be my first choice for my beef bowl meal though.
A combo lets you choose 2 proteins (beef/chicken) but the portions here are larger than in Taiwan. So if you’re not starving, a single bowl with 1 protein should be enough as serving size is generous. But the rice tends to be on the moist and soft side which is not to my liking. Overall the prices are reasonable and it’s healthy meal option considered it’s vegetables included. Quick service. Plenty of seating, restrooms available, and convenient parking in the plaza.
We ordered two bowls here for the first time. We paid extra for the brown rice and udon combo - turns out they gave us both white rice and *hardly* any udon. The turn around on the order was quick and that staff were friendly. The food itself was just okay, although the order was incorrect. The teriyaki chicken isn't that flavorful and I'd rather go to Panda Express. I understand adjusting expectations for the price of meals here but overall not a great impression. I reached out to customer service and provided an image for our incorrect order. They responded by providing a voucher in my app.... But I haven't found anything specific on my account a few days later even when I followed up again by email. I had a $2 coupon on their but if that is the voucher they allude to.... No thanks.
Never ever buying from this chain again. It’s been over 3 years since I ordered, and I still can’t let it go because it was that bad. What I received was basically trash — overcooked noodles that had the texture of potato pudding, with a flavor that somehow managed to be both bland and disappointing. To top it off, I was charged for items I never even received. This place is an absolute joke.
I've had Yoshinoya a lot in my Asian travels specially in Japan and Hong Kong. Always excellent. I ordered a bowl of teriyaki rib eye with brown rice for take out. When I got home, I was so disappointed! The meat was so tough like leather and is definitely not a ribeye. I also got a thick greasy noodle instead of the brown rice. Cost me around $16. I will never have Yoshinoya in the US again. You're better off getting Donburi at your local Japanese grocery. Avoid Yoshinoya at all cost.
I always come to Yoshinoya with my friends, and usually order online. I’m a huge anime and Japanese fanatic, and I’ve eaten Yoshinoya in Singapore and Japan. I had to come in person, because I had no credit card on the app, as I’m mailing the new one. The Asian Lady cashier was super rude in tone. I order beef Gyudon and she never put the extra effort, do you want veggies with that. I claimed a coupon to redeem over $2, and add egg roll and ginger. They forgot the ginger. And then I forgot the veggies were seperate. She then proceed to nag at me, “you don’t need to order water, water is free”. She does not have basic customer service tone. And she didn’t serve me the water. I totally get she was upset I did things a bit off, but she could of said it in a better way I only like Yoshinoya here for their low cost bowl and that it’s a decent meal. Look up Japan and Singapore menu and Yoshinoya USA is treated as bottom of barrel between the other chains. This won’t deter me completely here, as I eat here off and on here with friends, but definitely watch for customer service. Never I’ve seen such rudeness to a customer.
Horrible low quality meat. could taste the rancid beef without seasoning. Customer service had no diligence and very and astounding this place is still open. Last time visited was over a year ago and never coming back. If you are hungry, there are plenty better options in the nearby .
