Overall EXCELLENT PLACE. My husband and I dropped in for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The server was fantastic informing us of all the specials and her favorites. I got the pickle burger with wasabi sauce, and my husband got "the fatty," bacon cheese burger on sourdough! We had wings as an appetizer, and they are some of the best in Dansville. The prices were decent ranging $7-9 for a sandwich or salad. I only wish we had room for dessert!

Consistently excellent food. I ordered multiple times before leaving a review just to be sure. This is one of the best restaurants in the southern tier - if not the best, and certainly the most consistent. In the age of post-Covid where service sucks and everything is constantly short staffed; it’s been amazing to find a place that is still firing on all cylinders. The dine in experience is fantastic, nice Victorian style decor. Take out is also great, nothing is ever forgotten or overcooked. If you order a steak medium rare, you get it cooked perfectly. Pricing is definitely reasonable and waitstaff are very attentive. If you are looking for a 2019 pre-Covid dining experience where the food and service doesn’t suck, this is your place.

Hadn't been there in 20+ years. Stopped by after auction for wings and beer and was blown away by their selection of wing sauces. Had the Raspberry Cayenne wings and it was out of this world. Great food and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Nice place for dinner. The decor is beautifuly done, our server was nice & the food is amazing! We got crab cakes for appetizer, I had the chicken with mushroom alfredo which was SO good! My boyfriend had the filet with sweet potato fries 😋 Everything was delicious!

Best supper I have had since the pandemic started. Hot, pretty, seasoned nicely. Harty portion, and tender and cooked to perfection. I had Grilled Salmon on spaghetti pasta and feta cheese and olives and red bell peppers and a seasoned sauce created on oil and herbs. The pasta was done just right. It was tasty and filling and appealing. My compliments to the chef! It was one of their special menu items. The bartender was attentive and prompt. The drinks are premium liquor, generous parts spirit to soft beverage and cold. I would recommend the place for anyone that wants a good meal. It is a great place to have a drink. But it is a good choice for a great dry night out. Well stocked bar.

On a short road trip I stopped on a Wednesday night. luckily for their wings special. I'll say their wings are perfectly cooked. I had the jerk chicken as well as Kentucky mud flavors. While the sauces were tasty. The Kentucky mud was just a variation of sweet chili sauce. Same thing for the jerk chicken sauce. 🤷 I couldn't tell the difference in flavor just color. Aside from that it was trivia night, the DJ was entertaining, engaging the crowd with a fun energy. With a pool table and dart board in the back. I enjoyed playing games and meeting new people from the area. 😁

Best bar food we’ve had in a long time! I had dry rub wings and a prime rib sandwich that was unbelievable. My wife had the boss hog burger: incredible! The au jous was to die for. I don’t know how much you’re paying Morgan but she deserves a raise. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

My husband and I stopped on our way home from Rochester. The menu on their site looked good and not too expensive. What I didn't see was that their kitchen closed in between lunch and dinner (we got there at 3:15), however the very friendly and extremely nice bartender/ waitress told us they did have bar food available. So we ordered garlic Parmesan boneless wings, chicken tenders, sweet potato fries and a cup of soup. Everything was DELICIOUS! A very pleasant surprise!!

Since their remodeling, it is extremely loud in the restaurant due to the new wood floor vs the old carpeted floor. The sound pierces your ears. Especially to those with hearing aids or sensitive ears. Fish fry was very disappointing. Fish itself was good but the batter was so greasy and dark. Not the quality it used to be for an increased price. Overall, not our best experience there. Jason usually does such a good job with his dishes. I don't know if there's new help in the kitchen or what. The bus girls need to learn to smile and acknowledge people when they leave and say goodnight, thank you, enjoy your evening... whatever. Also to notice when dishes need to be removed from a table. Especially a very small table. They stand nearby and stare across the room. Do more to earn better tips! I hope the atmosphere and food improve or it's not going to be a busy restaurant.

GREAT HIDDEN GEM ! This spot was one to remember. From the hometown feel to the great service we will be back. Everything we ate was incredible, affordable, and filling. Don't sleep on the bar menu for quick cheap eats like the fried chicken thighs and everything on the dinner menu sounded amazing.

I came in from out of town for a few days and decided to try Jack's Place for lunch one day. It was terrific! My meal wasn't all too extraordinary (burger, fries and a Coke); however, it was delicious and the portions were plentiful. The service was spectacular and the small restaurant/bar environment was quite comfortable. If you're in town and looking for a great place for lunch, then look no further. I strongly recommend Jack's Place. The food is great, service second-to-none, and the environment is unique.

I've been meaning to try this place out for nearly a year but I always seemed to drop by when it was closed. The hours are a bit odd with a 2-hour gap between a couple 4-hour shifts. I understand the reasons for it, but it does prevent me from grabbing a late lunch. However, if you stop by when they're open, you will not be dissipointed. These burgers are amazing; cooked to perfection and built with the lettuce-on-the-bottom technique (hallmark of a great, modern burger). Prices are great and include fries. I don't think any other place near by can compete with that level of quality at that price. The beer selection is also the best around. They've got your standard staples like Great White, Scrimshaw, Lagunitas IPA, and Corona. But you'll also find less common treasures like Downtown Brown, Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout, and Angry Orchard cider. All on tap and this list isn't repersentive of everything. Beer is also served in 16 or 22 ounce. I've been by several times now and service has always been great. If I have anything negetive to say it is only that I wish they were open for more hours and I'm not a big fan of their wings; they are made too crispy with a spicy batter that leaves them a little dry. I'd rather have something smothered in a cayenne sauce made with some butter and black pepper (Frank's would do in a pinch). But don't let these two very minor issues stop you from coming here and having a wonderful burger and a tall glass of great beer to go with it.

While me and my family were there we ordered a pizza and the pizza tasted like it was in the freezer for way to long. The crust was so crispy and crunchy I actually broke my tooth on it. (And not the part of the crust you hold onto either)

I pass by Dansville on my way to Ithaca several times during the year and today with the ice storm decided to stop by and have a bite to eat! The service was great, courteous and friendly, the ambiance is great for getting together with friends and family or just having a beer and watching some sports! I had the mushroom swiss burger with sweet potatoes and it was delicious!!! I do recommend you to stop by and grab a bite to eat next time you are visiting Dansville like I did!

Much better than average pub food. Great for a heathy lunch when visiting one of the nearby state parks.

My brother and wife took me out for my Birthday. Prime rib was ordered rare came out well done. Left over prime rib not good. Serve fresh food not leftover.

Had Dinner tonight with my brother and niece in the dining room. It started out we ordered beer, then we ordered food, I got my soup but still no beer after 20 minutes and pouring a second glass of water they brought some bread (No butter). Then the beer came and the steaks. Me and my brother switched plates when I found out that my steak was medium and his was medium rare. I like mine medium rare. Told the waitress and she said second time it has happened tonight. At least she was honest. Went to the bar afterwards and the service was excellent. Played Keno and had a blast. People in the bar were very friendly. I do wish I could give this a better rating but the dining room experience killed it for us. But you notice I didn't rate this poor. I wouldn't even call this experience as strike one but maybe more like fouled away. I would still tell people to come here and try it and leave your comment please.

Food was okay, lacking in portion and quality. Not bad food, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again.

Bread was stale, steak was all butchered up like it went thru a meat grinder, was covered with the potato wedges. Was told that's the way it came out of the package, had to ask for more water, and was the only people in there..

I am disappointed. Have always had a good meal there. My husband and I went last week. He had the "Sirloin Special" which he said was great! I ordered the Chicken French. When it arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was soooo small! I should have asked where the rest of it was! I have never had such a small piece of chicken in all the times I have ordered Chicken French! Fortunately, my husband shared his steak with me, or I would have gone hungry.

I ordered wings hot. The wings were so dry as if they've been precooked all ready for the night. They we're so dry and they didn't put hardly any wing sauce on the wings, don't go here for wings.

It took over an hour for them to boil ravioli and undercook a quesadilla. I'm not even mad - it was a once in a lifetime experience!

Place is dirty. Hard to see inside, I get most bars r dark but holy cow. Prices r crazy service is slow.

I ordered a french onion soup which tasted just as bad as the condensed cheap cambells can and garlic parmesan wings because I hate spicy and they had hot sauce in them. It was over priced and I just ended up eating left overs instead.

The majority of the bartenders are rude, very poor service! The owner doesn't go out of his way to improve the atmosphere. I have also witnessed many employees stealing.

Went here because of the reviews about the food. Dining room was not open so we sat in the bar. It's a dive and not in a cool way. Tacky signs posted everywhere ("Bartender priorities: drinks, food, lotto"....if barkeeps need a sign to understand their job, that's a clue). Women's room was...an adventure and not in a good way. Smoking outside but situated right by the front door so that aroma wafted in and was inescapable. The food was nothing extraordinary. The only reason it got a one star is the bartender was pleasant.

Absolutely disappointed with this place. Our waitress had a no care attitude and we waited forever for our bland food. We were there a little after 6 and finally finished at 8:30pm. I talked to someone working the bar about our bad experience and he was apologetic. Our young, flaky server was just clueless. I never wrote a review in my life, but after spending my hard earned money on this place, I felt like sharing. Too many other businesses work very hard ti accommodate their customers, this place could care less

Came here for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and I have to say not only was my food disgusting and not cooked enough but the older waitress with short short white hair was no help to offer anything better or discount our dinner. Everyone in the room got bread before their meals except us. My steak came out and I asked for medium and it was still bleeding so I could only eat the edges of it. It wasn’t warm in the middle. The portion I set aside that I could not eat was on my napkin and the blood was literally being absorbed and seeped through. I was disgusted. When the waitress saw my steak aside she asked what was wrong. I said that I ordered medium and this is clearly more on the rare side. She asked me if I had an air fryer to take it home to re cook it. Really? What kind of offer is that? If we wanted to eat at home we would have. We also did not get our salad and she questioned us about it. We took the salad home because I did not want to spend another minute inside this place. Never going to recommend this place to anyone and will not return. Thanks Jacks staff for ruining my Valentine’s Day.
