Opinions de Iberian Pig - Decatur Decatur
We had a fantastic dinner at The Iberian Pig in Decatur. We ordered the octopus, stuffed dates, jamón, and broccolini — and every single dish was packed with flavor. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender with a great char. The stuffed dates were that perfect sweet and savory bite you want from tapas. The jamón was rich and flavorful, and the broccolini balanced everything out beautifully. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it a great spot for a night out. Definitely a place we’d come back to when we’re in Decatur again.
A local restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere and nice variety of tapas on the menu. There are wines and specialty cocktails, as well. As standard with tapas, the food comes out relatively quickly. Portions are reasonable. There were two beef empanadas and four mini pork cheek tacos. The patatas bravas and the brocolini were plentiful. Prices were also reasonable. For 4 tapas, 2 sodas and a Pellegrino it was $60. I was pleasantly surprised with the price. The hostess was rigid and unwelcoming but the servers were friendly and attentive. I spoke to a few other guests and there was a good mix of locals and out of towners, as well as all age ranges for customers. There are tables outside and heaters, so it will be a great place to eat and drink outside and people watch with all the other bars and restaurants in the area. I will definitely go back.
The misses and I love tapas, so I told her to pick between Iberian Pig and Barcelona. She chose Iberian Pig, and honestly, the service and food are always on point. We had reservations for 9:00 and arrived around 8:45. They seated us a little early, even though the place was pretty busy. It was a bit loud and crowded, but we still really enjoyed ourselves. We started with the yuca tots. They weren’t my favorite—maybe a little too starchy for me—but the misses loved them. Next up were the lamb skewers, which were succulent and full of flavor as always. Then came the octopus, one of my favorites—perfectly cooked and delicious. We also ordered the patatas bravas, which were crispy with a nice spicy sauce, along with the empanadas de carne and gambas al ajillo—all solid choices. There was a limited-time item, a duck leg, which ended up being one of our favorites of the night. The sauce was incredible, and the duck was juicy and packed with flavor. Can’t forget the beef short rib, definitely one of the top 5 dishes. Overall, Iberian Pig remains one of our favorite spots for tapas in the Atlanta metro area. We’ll definitely keep coming back.
Great experience with a lot of Vegetarian options. Better to reserve before if you do not want to be on the waitlist like us. We waited for 20ish minutes to be seated. However the lovely neighborhood had a lot to explore. Atmosphere: lovely atmosphere with some noise which makes sense with all people there. Service: pretty amazing and super friendly service. Food: I loved the coca con seta but the Berenjenas was a little sour for me even though I love eggplant; The green sauce was great though. Parking: the county tax assessor parking is free at weekends but you need to walk like 6 minutes to there. Seats: both indoor and outdoor seats available.
The place is very quiet, I enjoyed all the dishes, the second time I visited them I tried the duck ravioli and I can only say that it was spectacular, the sauce was exquisite, I recommend it in its entirety and I think that the sauce should be incorporated into other preparations. Very juicy empanadas de carba, gambas al ajillo also have a sauce full of flavor. I would recommend this place without a doubt, and I will definitely do another visit.
I love this place! I've been 2x and both times were an awesome experience. My most recent visit, my mom & I were tended to by Jade and they're absolutely lovely and a very attentive server! We ordered the charcuterie board, drinks, plates, and desserts. Everything was delicious and filling. The atmosphere is sexy, but also casual. The ambience is perfect for a date night, drinks @ the bar, or dinner with the fam. Don't skip this place, you will not be disappointed. They have something for everyone and a very intriguing cocktail menu!
Went here last Saturday, the food was amazing! Service was great! Our waiter was very informative about the food and answered any question I had. He made a splendid wine recommendation, food came out fairly quick. Atmosphere was dim but not romantic. A little tight seating but I didn’t mind it as I was too focused on the food. 10/10 my favorite dish was the octopus!
Server was amazing - walked us through the menu and was super attentive without hovering. Food was super good, and portions were prefect to allow for sampling of many things.
Never had a bad meal here. The food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere, top notch all around. Tonight we started with the bacon wrapped dates and croquetas, two fan favorites and for good reason. The pork cheek tacos though…so dang good. The salty, tender pork along with the corn, avocado, and lime is one of my favorite bites around. Had the broccolini next which was smoky and delicious, then the beef enchiladas which are absolutely amazing. Perhaps my favorite bite though was the choripan. That chorizo with the heavy paprika flavor and that incredible salsa criolla on top…I could eat a hundred of those in one sitting. Finished with the almond flour tarta which was lovely, their fresh made cheesecake with blueberry compote (a must), and a nice glass of port. Our server, Cameron, was attentive throughout, as was the entire staff. Always a great time to dine here.
Food is out of this world. The flavors are incredible and the staff (at least our server) made the experience one to remember. We got a lot of food but branzino was most memorable. Will definitely be back.
Our favorite place to eat in metro Atlanta. They never fail to deliver. Delicious cocktails and tapas.
We had dinner with our friends, this is a great restaurant for groups. Immediately upon entering, the wonderful smells and soothing ambiance are very welcoming. Their menu is fantastic, I wanted to try everything, and our dinner was delicious. Our waiter was so knowledgeable of everything on the menu and helped us when deciding what to order. I definitely recommend trying the Basque Cheesecake. I would return to The Iberian Pig.
We loved our dessert! Our bartender was absolutely amazing and so kind. Excellent customer service!
We couldn't help but stop by after walking around. A few sniffs of the air did cause some drooling. The atmosphere was low light and can be a fun date night. They had an amazing menu of Tapas choices so your guaranteed to find something your going to like. Great place to bring a group or for a date ❤️. With reasonable prices and a knowledgeable and very welcoming staff. This is one of those spots that would be our next spot. Can't wait to come back and try some more !
This place was very nice. Top notch in every way, food, service, atmosphere, location and crowd.
Outstanding in every way. Many great choices on the menu. Food came quickly, even the Paella, and everything was delicious. Drinks were great also and they don't skimp on the alcohol. The staff was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend. 👍
We had a wonderful dinner here. The food tastes amazing, and the price is much lower than most restaurants with the same level of food and service (most items are $15-20). I am giving it a five-star not because this restaurant is a 5-star level but because a 5-star is the highest I can give on google. Iberico ham platter $38: The meat tastes amazing. I am not very familiar with hams, but I am still astonished by their taste and texture. The fat would literally melt once you put them in your mouth, and the side bread and house special sauce add another level of taste to the meat. It would not fill your stomach, but the price is well worth this luxurious experience. B.W.D $10: It is a genius innovation to put bacon and dates together on a skewer. The sweet and creamy dates blend perfectly with the crispy fatty bacon. Heuvo con trufa $18: The pork cheek is stewed so nicely that it splits upon a gentle touch. I love the soft, juicy texture, and you can taste a bit of sweetness from the pork among the generally salty flavor. The crunchy bread tastes good, especially with the meat on top of it, but I would personally prefer a softer bread just so that I can dip it in the remaining soup after finishing the meat cause it is too good to be wasted. Lomo $15: Perfectly cooked, with great texture, and the sauce adds to the flavor nicely. I also like the crispy potato on the side. Service and atmosphere: 5 out of 5. The waiters are nice, and they would enthusiastically introduce you to each dish if you are confused by the menu (the menu is not very clear for first-timers). Most items are in rather small sizes, so you might want to get 2-3 for each person, which is reasonable given their price. The desserts and special drinks (non-alcoholic ones) are just average level, so I won't recommend getting them. You can just go out and turn left to Jennis for some ice cream if you really want some sweet treats after the meal (I do).
I went for a solo dinner. The hostess sat me at a table (rare for a solo diner but so so appreciated). I ordered the patatas bravas, gambas al aijilo and the ravioli de pato. Also got a mocktail. The drink was absolutely delicious! I cannot rave about the food enough. I’ve been to Spain 3 different times and this food was just as good or better than a lot of what i ate there. The dishes reflect different regions of the country beautifully and i will be thinking about that ravioli for a minute. My server was incredible. I will absolutely be here again. 10/10 dining experience.
Great food, drinks and service! The waitress was so nice and guided us through our meal. We ordered the BWD (so good!), pork cheek tacos (definitely order these!!), patatas bravas (light and crispy perfection), pulpo (tender!!), montadito de pera (delicious!), ravioli de pato (not our favorite compared to the other food), gambas al ajillo (that butter sauce!). For dessert, the chocolate panne cotta and the espresso gelato together were AH-MAZING!!! What a wonderful meal - can’t want dine there again.
This location is just as delicious as the buckhead location. It is, by far, my favorite restaurant! There’s something so unique about the flavors, presentation, atmosphere, and service. We love coming here. Make a reservation and walk right in!
Wow. I highly recommend this place! Our server was absolutely amazing, I wish I could remember his name…when I find out I’ll edit this to add. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. Our cocktails were absolutely delicious. The gambas al ajillo were good, the shrimp was cooked well, and although I wish it were the full shrimp with head on, it was still good. The SAUCE though?? Definitely order extra grilled sourdough because you’ll want to eat as much of the sauce as possible. We had ravioli with mushroom was also very yummy. The octopus was not our favorite, but it wasn’t bad. The olive tapenade and sauce elevate it. Our server brought out the bacon wrapped dates and woah- amazing! I would love to come back to this restaurant, and hopefully bring more friends so we can order more food :)
Made reservation for 6 for lunch on Easter Sunday. Foods were delicious as you can see from the photos. The liter of red sangria filled 5 glasses with some seconds. Our waitress was friendly & courteous. My only critique is the portion on a couple dishes. I understand it’s tapas, small dishes meant to be shared in a group setting. But it’s hard to share 3 raviolis, wish it was 4. The French toast came with 1 toast sliced in halves, could have double the amount. Having said that, our favorites were the mushroom raviolis, French toast, bacon wrapped dates, and huevo con trufa. Parking was limited since it’s downtown Decatur, so we parked at street meter & walked. This place is definitely worth a visit, 2 thumbs up!
We came to Iberian pig on our first date night in a long time and I honestly can't imagine we could have made a better choice! It was great to explore some different tastes, and something about sharing it together that really adds to the experience and intimacy with your partner or group. We especially enjoyed the tacos, the queso board, and the costillas. But everything we ordered was delicious!
Went for my girlfriend's birthday. Food was fantastic. Drinks were excellent. Our server, Jules, was super knowledgeable and great. A lovely experience. Also, my girlfriend has Celiac, and they accommodated for it perfectly, even having a separate gluten free menu. The shrimp dish and pork loin dish were the two big standouts for us!
The Iberian Pig was recommended by my boss as he said it was his favorite place to eat, and we were definitely not disappointed. We made an early evening reservation, and took advantage of the nice weather to sit out front and enjoy the scenery. The staff were super friendly and welcomed us as it was our first time and we were celebrating an important event. They even gave us a card at the end to celebrate with us! The happy hour is amazing prices and offerings. The food was unlike anything else I've had in Georgia so far, and we were very pleased! The tacos and the Rabbit was so flavorful and unique. We will definitely be back!
Amazing tapas. Highly recommend giving this spot a visit. Came on a Saturday and the service was phenomenal. Shout out to Patrick in specific. Best dishes were the octopus, bistec, and the tacos.
One of Decatur's long-standing restaurants, and it's easy to see why. Visited after a few years away and Iberian Pig is still at the top of its game. Our server Ryder was cheerful and pleasant, with thorough knowledge of the menu. Everything we had was terrific. Charcuterie and cheese were tasty with generous proportions; bistec, calamari and shrimp dishes all hit the spot. Favorite was probably the pork tenderloin, melt-in-your-mouth grilled to perfection. Dessert of cinnamon gelato and almond cake rounded out a very good meal.
Our server/service was amazing! We were celebrating our brother's 2nd anniversary and the staff was amazing and our server was super helpful and patient. We can be much, I forgot to catch her name, but she made our dining experience educated and pleasant and built into it more than we can imagine. Definitely will be coming back to celebrate more with yall. The food was amazing as always, we tried even more dishes bc our server knew them and could recommend more bc half the table was vegetarian. Thank you so much.
Excellent tapas restaurant with great food! Outdoor seating available. Chill vibes/atmosphere. Liz is one of the best servers I've ever had...she even asked about food allergies before I ordered, and coordinated some modifications with the chefs for me.
I came here for my birthday and had excellent tapas and drinks! The quality of all the food was exceptional and it's hard to pick a favorite. However, the B.W.D. (Bacon-Wrapped Dates) and Pork Cheek Tacos are some of the more popular items. My group and I also loved the pork tenderloin (Lomo). For a drink, I got the Pink Panther, which had grapefruit in it and I really enjoyed it. I think my only complaints were that the meal was just a bit slow. I might suggest ordering everything you want from the start, so you can eat it as it comes out and don't have to worry about waiting a lot later. Definitely come here! And make sure you have a reservation.
This place is so good. They have meat selections, queso, and small plates. They have a full bar and really nice cocktails. Everything was delicious. Ordered the ravioli, the shrimp, potatoes, and pork tacos. It was all so good. I love this area. The restaurant got really crowded, and some of the tables are located strangely. Will definitely be back. This is a great date night place for lovers or even a first date.
This place has amazing food. As a tapas bar, the servings are small and meant to be shared. Everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommended.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Ash was a dream to work with to schedule this work dinner. Some slower service and inattention to allergies but we did have a large event. Communication to amend the issue was swift. All went smoothly!
Took my mom for her birthday. I'd been several times in the past and had high hopes my mom would like it to and she did. The calamari was some of the best we've ever had and the shrimp were so tender. They bright is a sundae for dessert and I was sorry surprised at how much we both loved that. Some of the creamiest gelato I've ever had!
Had a date night dinner with Caleb as our server and he was so amazing! He was extremely sweet and accommodating, great with recommendations. I will definitely be back!
My family had a little reunion dinner post-Christmas tonite at Iberian Pig and it was a total pleasure. From Kathy, our waitress, to the delicicious tapas dishes/chaucaterie/cheeses to the warm, rustic atmosphere-everything was top notch. I highly recommend and can't wait to return again
Food is excellent! Delicious everything! Ambience is very moody and sexy! Love it for a date night. Only thing is they can be very busy on weekends so service can be a little lacking
The food was amazing! Our waiter was top notch! Very nice vibe also. The place was just a fun time! We will be back for sure when we come back to Decatur GA!!
My husband and I recently moved here from Southern California. We have been to Decatur multiple times prior, and have always wanted to try Iberian Pig. Once we made the big move, we decided to finally dine here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Oh my goodness - best decision ever! Not only were the food and drinks absolutely divine (probably the best calamari and paella we've ever had) the staff was PHENOMENAL. We had so many servers (and I believe the manager as well) come up to us to wish us a happy anniversary + welcomed us to Atlanta! Before we left, our server also gave us an anniversary card, handwritten and signed by all the staff there, with dessert. Absolute sweetest thing ever. We put it on our fridge :) We will definitely be back soon, and will be bringing friends and family with us when they come to visit! Thank you for an amazing experience!!
Me and my girlfriend went there for our 1 year anniversary and the experience was amazing, our bartender iker was wonderful, drinks and food recommendations were on the spot! He did an amazing job in general, we loved him, definitely going back.
This was our first experience at the Iberian Pig and it did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly upon entering and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious and the presentation was great. The drinks are well crafted and delivered on the descriptions provided on the menu. Lastly, the vibe was very relaxing and appropriate. We had a lovely experience and will definitely return.
It was super busy but the service was impressively fast..We ordered Iberico ham on which was amazing the fried potatoes are really nice but the calamari n pan con tomato weren't a bit different from what we expected.
Overall this is a great restaurant for a nice dinner. The atmosphere is pretty nice and the service is amazing. Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The food was a hit or miss. We had a few different tapas and half of them were really good and the other half were not. Really liked the smoked eggplant dip, roasted carrots and chorizopan. Unfortunately the bistec, croquetas and patatas bravas were not what we were hoping for. The bistec tasted weird in general, almost like the meat was bad. The croquetas were just meh and the patatas bravas were too fried. It’d give it another try because everything on the menu sounded good. It got busy after 730 so make sure you have a reservation
Mac and cheese were dry and not creamy Empanada needs a better sauce, but it was tasty by its own. Sangria was ok Hotels chocolate with baley was so good. Beef was regular, for the p4ice I expect something better however the name its called iberian pig, so the tenderloin pork was the best I ever had same for croquetas. Place was quiet and service amazing Paella was super spicy but so tasty at the same time
Incredible place for our anniversary dinner. Service from Keegan was super good, bridging the professional with the approachable. We loved the lamb skewers and the shrimp the best (extra bread was graciously provided to mop the broth). Thanks to the restaurant for gifting an anniversary dessert. Probably the only downside is that the veggie dishes cost about as much as the meat and don't have nearly the same pizzazz.
An acquaintance and I had dinner here last night. ATMOSPHERE: 5+ SERVICE: 5+++ (From the host stand to table service) DRINKS: My date had an Old fashion he enjoyed. FOOD: -2 Maybe my palate is not refined enough but I did not enjoy ANY of the food and we ordered 5 different tapas and 2 desert. We finished ONE. The flavors and textures were just plain unpleasant. Over complicating simple dishes. I ate simply out of politeness to my date. I stopped and got a burger afterward.
We had a decent experience at The Iberian Pig. The charcuterie board was comically small, which was a bit of a disappointment. The Sangrias were more generous, however. Of the main dishes, we found the Lomo (pork tenderloin) and the Pork Cheek Tacos the best, while the calamari was a bit too soft. The service was incredible, which was a big plus.
Very crammed and loud. We waited 10 minutes before our server came and we hurried and ordered right away to help speed things up. We never saw her again and the other servers helped and we had to ask for things ourselves. All staff was very polite and friendly, including our waitress. Main course was small and “short ribs” were actual ribs. Flavor was good and drinks were excellent.
The first time we went to The Iberian Pig, I was absolutely in love! It instantly became my favorite restaurant. That’s why we went back for New Year‘s Eve, which also happens to be our anniversary. Sadly, it was a disappointing night. We were late for our reservation by 15 minutes (I had driven 10 hours from Ohio and the weather made the travel take longer than expected). The host kindly still seated us though he definitely made us aware of the fact that we were late. I understand that timeliness is important and that restaurants must care about seating as many guests as possible. Not a huge deal. The real disappointment was the food. I don’t know what happened. The first time we went, every single dish we ordered was spectacular and bursting with flavor. This time, the food looked beautiful but was extremely bland—it didn’t even taste like it had enough salt. It was pretty but completely lacking in flavor. I actually asked for salt. We ordered three tapas, all of which were disappointing, two with no flavor, the third very burnt. Then we ordered the pork cheek, and it was SO salty. Neither of us could eat it. We took it home for our dogs. Finally, we ordered the seafood paella. The seafood was perfectly cooked, but again, completely lacking in flavor. It all tasted vaguely of seawater. The rice was overcooked and very gummy and oily (See final pictures for some of the left over oil from the paella, even after sautée-ing it again—SO OILY). Usually, a good paella will have some nice crusting on the bottom—not this one. Just oily, gummy mush. The icing on the cake: the table at which we were seated (#75?) must be located below a leaky spot in the roof because water dripped on both of us and our table throughout the meal. I could easily overlook the judgment and the rogue rainwater, but the food was so incredibly disappointing, especially for a restaurant that clearly sees itself as fine dining. For the prices, we expected quality (like what we experienced during our first visit), but we left feeling about as disappointed as Ohio State fans on New Years Eve. In the end, The Iberian Pig went from being my favorite restaurant that I hope to show to visiting family and to visit on special occasions to a restaurant that I will be unlikely to visit again at all and would most likely not recommend.
I went for the first time to The Iberian Pig on a Friday night. I love Spain food.. The food quality was poor. I asked for the Old Fashioned and the bartender made the simplest and tasteless old fashioned I have ever had and changed me extra five dollar for the whiskey I didn't ask. I was in the bar, so I saw everything. The tapas was not great, the eggplant was salty. I had a better experience in La Silla del Toro. I'm not going again to the iberian pig on Decatur
