Opinions de Urbn Sushi Del Mar
Clean place with a great vibe! The sushi was especially soft and really delicious. The rolls, maki, shrimp dishes, and chicken katsu were all great. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and they explained the menu well. Would definitely come back!
URBN Sushi is a delightful dining experience- with super fresh fish and creative roll options, it is a perfect spot for your sushi fix at a super reasonable price. The service was great, giving us recommendations and even a free appetizer. Highly recommend the lemon roll, it was the highlight of the meal. Worth a stop if in the area, or even if not.
Ordered platters for pickup for hosting my sisters bachlorette party. This was such a hit for our group. Everyone loved it and the food was incredible. I really enjoyed coordinating with them. They were so helpful in creating a variety for all dietary restrictions and make sure we didn't have too much of one thing, which really took the stress off me for ordering and coordinating for such a large group :) thanks again!
This is my second to be here. My son loves the miso salmon so much. Last time I had Salmon Poke and this time I have Garlic Shrimp. Both tastes fresh and delicious!
This place was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend the cream cheese sushi or the watered down green tea. No one here because it straight buhdouwg.
Excellent sashimi. The sushi chefs are excellent and offer great cuts. Excellent miso soup (best I have had anywhere in states). See the photos!! Thank you for a wonderful time JJ !!
I was craving sushi after church this past Sunday and looked up places close to where I live and URBN sushi stood out because of the good reviews. And it did not disappoint! I ordered the spicy shrimp roll & the bulgogi roll (pictured), and both were absolutely delicious and fresh, and a generous portion size. I have never tried beef with sushi, but it’s a yummy combo and I’m a fan. The complimentary edamame was a nice treat! And I ordered one of the cherry flavored house sodas and it was refreshing. The server was so kind & attentive— excellent customer service, and this restaurant is incredibly clean. This is definitely going to be my go to sushi spot in SD!
I love this URBN Sushi place in La Jolla. The best Japanese Restaurant owned and operated by Korean lady! She is so sweet and kind. I appreciated my time in San Diego. I would strongly recommen you visit this place when you are in town or live close by.
Great space with good service and friendly staff. The fish was fresh and their rolls are tasty. We liked their moochi as well. The nigiris are large and the prices are reasonable. The miso soup was great as well. I would definitely give this place a shot. their menu is long!!!! They have so many different foods and we liked what we ordered
The sushi was amazing and the service was fantastic. Everyone is super friendly. The spicy garlic edamame is a must have! We had the Ex-Girlfriend (a no rice roll), the Bulgogi roll, the Red Hot Chili Pepper roll and the Spicy Yellowtail Delight roll (which was a recommendation). I honestly can't pick a favorite because they were all phenomenal. Have to come back and try more of their menu. Thanks for the wonderful service!!
Nice Japanese restaurant in the area. I liked that beside sushi you can also get a variety of combination options (teriyaki, tempura, etc) and noodle dishes. There were also many interesting rolls to try. We each opted for a dinner combination with teriyaki and a specialty sushi roll. Sushi was fresh and portions in the combination were large. We had leftovers fo another meal. Waiters were friendly and checked on us. Would come back again to try some of the sushi specials.
Food is awesome. Roll, sashimi, dish, everything is good. Kind staff with smile. Clean restaurant with nice atmosphere. Strongly recommend. Already visited several times.

VERY GOOD FOOD ! My wife and I discovered this restaurant when we recently moved house to La Jolla. Everything we have tried to date has tasted excellent. A server named Ana looked after us nicely during our last 2 dinner visits. Some of the menu items we tried were Mixed Tempura Starter, Chicken Yakitori Starter, Jumbo Garlic Shrimp, Chicken Katsu Curry, Garlic Shrimp Dinner Combination and Seafood Udon. FIRST TIME EVER ! We also had some Mochi Ice Cream ( 3 pcs - Strawberry, Chocolate & Mango )....a bit different. NICE AND QUIET INSIDE !
The food was served so beautifully. The calamari was lightly fried (crispy but not greasy), and the sashimi was incredibly fresh, thick, and had a great texture. It all went perfectly with the sake. I tried the tuna, salmon, and eel rolls, and every single one was delicious. I also ordered to‑go, and everything was packed really neatly and stayed fresh, which I really appreciated. I really love sushi, and I’ve tried it all over San Diego. I can tell you this place is honestly the best of the best.
Urban‑Sushi is just an awesome spot if you’re craving really good sushi. Everything we tried tasted super fresh, and the fish had that clean, smooth texture that tells you it’s high quality. You can honestly taste the difference right away. The nigiri is a standout—the rice is warm and lightly seasoned, and the fish sits on top perfectly without being weighed down by anything extra. The rolls are fun and creative but never over the top. They add just enough flavor and texture to keep things interesting while still letting the fish shine. If you want sushi that’s fresh, delicious, and consistently well‑made, Urban‑Sushi is definitely worth a visit.

FABULOUS LUNCH ! Hey I have never been inside a Japanese restaurant in my life. On the other hand my wife has traveled to Japan many times for her work and loves Japanese food...her fav is Chicken Yakitori. NOTE ! I saw a video a few days ago of Chicken Katsu Curry posted by my mate Jack...one of my best friends on Yelp. It looked so delicious that I had to have it. TODAY ! My wife and I were down in La Jolla taking care of business. I had previously looked up URBN Sushi and knew they served Chicken Katsu Curry and Chicken Yakitori. After a slow 10 minute drive due to roadworks...we arrived here at around 2pm. A friendly server named Henry greeted us with a big smile when we entered. Glasses of iced water came out quick followed by COMPLIMENTARY bowls of Miso soup and Edamame Beans. My wife ordered a Chicken Yakitori Starter and I had to have the Chicken Katsu Curry of course. A few more customers trickled in while we waited for our lunch order to arrive. WHOO HOO ! My wife's Chicken Yakitori Starter...2 skewers arrived first followed soon after by my beautiful looking Chicken Katsu Curry. TOTALLY DELICIOUS ! There is a first time for everything and now I know I love this dish. MORE ! My wife loved her Chicken Yakitori skewers but needed more food so a Vegetable Tempura Starter came out within a few minutes. And I pinched a few pieces...so delicious. THE MENU IS HUGE ! We were more than happy with our first lunch visit but there is so much more to try on the menu. TOP SERVICE ! Our server Henry was great the whole time answering all my questions about items on the menu. WE LOVED IT !
Food is good, not great. Service is lacking. Prices were way above average. This spot gave me a bad vibe as soon as we got seated due to lack of cleanliness. I noticed our table wasnt exactly clean and the bench seat next to us was filthy. Service wasn't great either. Our server dropped off water and menus, but then we didn't see him for 10 minutes. There was only 1 other table of people at the time. The menu didn't have pictures of the rolls and some descriptions were vague so we spent some time asking questions about different items. Once we placed our order, the food came out pretty quick. Towards the end of our meal, our server left without letting us know his shift was over or that someone would be taking over for him. For starters we got the crispy rice with spicy tuna which was good and the gyoza was very tasty. The chicken karaage was the worst thing we ordered. It seemed like chicken bits rolled in flour and fried. There was no seasoning, no flavor or texture. It was gross if im being honest. We ordered the korean bulgogi which was ok, but mostly rice. We ordered 3 rolls, elysium, green mile & wango mango, all were good but not great. We ordered a 4th roll, sancho, and that one was great. The experience and food were fine and I might have come back to check out other rolls, but the price makes it not worthwhile.
The food was okay. Imitation crab, no warnings or offer to upgrade to real crab. Small entree portions for the combo, and the taste was acceptable. I gave the service 2 stars because that's what I'm going to remember the most. We sat down close to the last hour of closing time, but the waitress had absolutely no interest in having us there at all. She rushed us into ordering our food, then never asked if we wanted or needed anything for the rest of our meal.
I was really in a mood for some sushi, but my wife and I wanted to try a place that we had never been to. We came here for dinner, and arrived shortly before 5pm on a Saturday. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and told to sit anywhere we liked. We took our time looking over the menu as it was vast and very detailed. I wish they had pictures to accompany the menu though. They brought us edamame, which was tasty. My wife ordered the Mango Wango roll and I got the Rainbow Spider roll. The mango roll was okay, but I don't like sweet dishes, but she loved it. I really liked the Rainbow roll. It was a soft shelled crab topped with 5 kinds of fish, shrimp and avocado. Very good. The restaurant was clean and decorative, albeit a bit small. We're lucky we got there when we did as it was empty except for one other couple. As we were finishing, the dinner rush hit and the place filled up. Overall a good experience and I would go back if I am in the area. Standard sushi place, but nothing that makes me say "I want to go to URBN Sushi." Adding in the truffle yellowtail sashimi. This was FANTASTIC and a must try!

Superlackluster, oversalted, inauthentic Japanesish chow. Usually I love a big portion, but this was hard to finish. The chef either doesn't know Japanese cuisine or is intentionally messing it up for ya. Not the experience they think they offer and really overpriced. The place was empty AND understaffed at the same time.

I literally got food poisoning (most likely ciguatera fish poisoning) from the albacore special. Service was subpar despite not dining at a busy time. I strongly recommend against ordering raw fish at this establishment. Very ironic considering they specialize in sushi. I will never eat here again and if you're in the mood for sushi/sashimi, I suggest you don't either.
