this is my favorite dim sum in the east bay! you have to order from a menu as they don’t use carts, which i do miss, but it means your food will be fresh. i can’t believe how good everything is - try their spare ribs, garlic green beans (or any veg dish), roast duck, and chicken feet with black bean sauce. i also had a birthday here with 20 guests and both the dinner menu and service were top tier.
We ordered 8 different Dim Sums and one plate dish. Each order was very tasty and flavorful. Service outstanding. Waitresses and Waiters brought our food nice and hot. Consistently our tea pot full and as well as our ice water. Removing our empty plates from our table and other things. As the old saying goes, you pay for what you get. It was worth it! This includes being with good friends while we ate and laughed.
The service is excellent at this restaurant. I forgot my handbag in the restaurant this Tuesday during the lunch. I had my IDs and multiple credit cards and a bit cash in my bag. Since I was a bit tied up, I found out the loss of my handbag after a couple of hours. I went back to Mayflower in a hurry even knowing they were on break. But the manager there was very nice and immediately helped me to get my handbag back from the Lost and Found. I really appreciated the staffs and manager there to take care of my belongings. Will be back more often for the yummy Dim Sum.
Their sim dum is very good, better than any dim sum house in South Bay. But it is also pricy. On average every item is close to $10. Service is adequate.
There is another dim sum restaurant in the East Bay that has more diverse dishes. The Mayflower's menu is smaller but contains all the popular dishes. All dishes we ordered were delicious. Best dim sum in the East Bay. We no longer go to Chinatown since Mayflower is better and closer to our home. We order more than we can eat so we have some to take home... can never get enough good dim sum.
I think the owner is fabulous. My niece and I had a wonderful time at the restaurant. Food was delicious.
Absolutely delightful experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The dim sum was a standout, I had the steamed chicken feet and shrimp rice noodle rolls liked them aswell. Can't wait to return to explore more of their delicious menu!
Their string beans and fried rice are superb! Dim sum is also pretty good. I think they could offer a bit more variety on the food options. But the place is very neat and clean including the bathrooms (rare in Asian restaurants). Service is also excellent. Unlike many other Asian restaurants where servers are more with a matter of fact attitude, people here are actually quite friendly and courteous.
Update. I hardly go out to eat due to my special dietary needs. However, when I do, I make sure it’s at Mayflower. Today I went with bunch of friends and this place continues to provide savory foods and outstanding service. Facilities are always nice and clean. I’ve been coming to this place bringing family and friends who have never been. All leave the party amazingly happy and surprised. Thanks Susan and company Two of those I’ve brought here have taken their friends and family now too.
Decent dim sum selection here, nice ambience and friendly servers.
Very tasty food. I was not really familiar with most of the food on the menu, but everything we ordered was very good.
Delicious food! Quick service! We never mind joining the wait-list; they get to you super fast! We love bringing our friends to this spot. Any excuse to come back 🤣👍
Our hungry family arrived 30min before closing but the entire staff was super courteous, professional, and very kind! The food was amazing too and all of us had such a nice 30min meal!! We wanted to be kind to them and made it as quickly as possible~ and they wraped leftovers for to-go. We will surely go back for lunch time dim sum!!
Great place to eat. Very family oriented resto. Food were sooo good. Service was amazing
Great food with very good service and the dishes came very fast. The dining environment is very pleasant and even the bathrooms are very nice. Much better in every aspect compared to koi palace in my opinion, would highly recommend!
Everything was delicious. A bit pricey but well worth every dollar!! The service was also very good even when very busy after 11am.
Authentic and delicious dishes. Attentive/not overly intrusive service. Atmosphere is a bit noisy tho. But if u want good Cantonese food, u can't go wrong with this
Went there for an end of year dinner, the price-fix dinner was pricey and the plates were a little small (the roasted chicken was the size of a small hen) but everything tasted real good & had authentic Cantonese flavors. Service was top notch.
High quality dim sum place. They give you a list and you choose which dim sum you want. They make it for you in the kitchen fresh. They bring it out pretty quickly. Good food. I went here with my family. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. It's a little bit loud but good enough to hear conversation nearby. Decor is upscale in the place is brightly lit. This place is a little on the expensive side but I think it is worth it.
This is a popular dim sum spot in the area, so you would expect to wait in line if you do not arrive early enough. Despite how packed it is, it feels very comfortable as tables are placed at a reasonable distance between each other. The service is also really quick. You can expect your food to arrive soon after your order is placed. Would recommend.
The chef cooks very traditional HK style Cantonese dishes. Nice flavor with "wok hey" (stir fry in extreme high heat creating unique sizzling flavor similar to "bbq" when they add seasoning and sauce to wok)
We live out of state (Idaho) and eat at Mayflower almost every time we visit. The food, service and atmosphere is terrific.
Mayflower Restaurant is my go-to Dim Sum spot. My favorites are Chinese Broccoli in Oyster Sauce, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Roasted Duck, Shrimp Pork Dumplings, Steamed Sticky Rice w/ Meat wrapped in Lotus Leaf, Baked Egg Custard Buns, Baked Egg Custard Tart, and Singapore Style Chow Fun w/ Shrimp BBQ Pork and Bean Sprouts. The staff is very attentive and the kitchen gets the orders out quickly. The Mirrored Horse is fantastic.
I finally found a Chinese restaurant that brings back memories of my childhood days and really tasty filling meal. The Peking duck was rich in flavor and so were the other dishes we ordered. The serving are large, so expect to bring a bag home. Look for Gin who is just an awesome server.
If you can't make it to Causeway Bay in HK...then this is the next best place for Dim Sum in the East Bay. Can't go wrong with anything. All the food has fresh ingredients and cooked just like they do it in HK. I love the pea sprouts, Shanghai Dumplings, congee...too much to list. Be adventurous and you won't be disappointed.
Although the restaurant has been around for a while, I never visited for dim sum since Koi Palace is my go to place in the area. Boy, I was surprised. The flavor and presentation were traditional Hong Kong style and prices are reasonable. Our waitress was also friendly, attentive and followed masking protocol. We ordered 腸粉、牛雜、蝦餃、排骨、芋角 and other typical dim sums. All were above average in taste. I Will definitely go back to sample other dim sum types with anticipation.
Service & food is fresh on the weekends. It does get packed. Go early so you don't wait too long. I am D.T.Mayflower! It is great.
Wonderful experience. We had a party of 7 on a Thursday evening at 5pm. No waiting. Authentic excellent Chinese food. Nice staff. Very attentive. Service was excellent, something really unusual for a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Nice and clean bathrooms. Upscale. Will definitely eat there again.
Delicious dimsum with good classics. The salted egg yolk fried pumpkin and tofu was FABULOUS. Strong recommend.
Mayflower has set their restaurant apart from the rest of the dimsum restaurants in the EastBay. There are some top competitors, but they have done well. Even for being in the farthest part of East side. Expect to eat a lot when you come here. I have been next to 3 of the artist horses. In Las Vegas, Dubai, and Dublin. Nice entry exhibit.
Great spot for dim sum brunch! Their houde chili sauce is amazing. Bit pricier than others and no dim sum cart but the food is great nonetheless and service is fast. Expect to wait on weekends but they turn around tables pretty fast. Pro-tip, you can make reservations 1 day+ in advance!
Best dim sum in Tri-Valley. Never knew how big they are with a party space on the top floor.
Went there for birthday lunch. Really nice. The food little the pricey side but it's worth it
As I entered this Cantonese style restaurant, I immediately felt a sense of belonging. The structure and decorations are filled with asian design elements with a hint of American modernism. The staffs were polite and accommodating, especially for a Chinese restaurant. The menu selection is vast and absolutely wonderful. There is something for everyone here. Dim sum arrived one by one and were beautifully presented. I’m a hard pleaser when it comes to dim sum as I find Cantonese cuisine to be generally disgusting(chicken feet, ew) But immediately after that first bite, it became clear that the food tasted just as good as they looked. An absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Would recommend for every occasion, from a lazy Sunday brunch to a major celebration. I must return soon!
Everything here was absolutely delicious! We were seated fast and our waiter was absolutely on the top of his game. Our chinese donut was the best I've ever had, and my daughter devoured all the custard buns. We polished off the roast pork and had enough leftovers to make lunch. This is now our new dim sum spot when the urge hits. I can't to go back and try everything all over again! Update: It's still just as good as last time! Everything we got was tasty, but the siu mai was the best. Everyone was nice and attentive. Sodas filled, plates cleared. Thry even brought my daughter a cup with a lid so she wouldn't spill. Unfortunately we started eating before I remembered to take pictures, but I couldn't stop myself. You should absolutely make time to come here. Labor Day: If I could eat here every day I would. Be prepared for a long line if you come later in the day, because they fill up fast! All the staff were just as nice and helpful as before. The siu mai are a must every time.
Quietly located in a nonbusy plaza in Dublin, but it is a fairly good Cantonese cuisine restaurant. Features for its seafood dishes. I listed the four favorite dishes we ordered. Beef is super tender. Scallop is HUGE! And there is no oceaney flavor left, they handled it well. The bun for peking duck is the most surprising one, because it is not the normal peking duck wrap. Super soft, and has a little sweetness to it. It blends well with duck, sauce and leek.
Best dimsum place around, hands down. Tasty food, generous portions. Nuf said.
The best Chinese food I’ve ever had! And the service was wonderful, the staff were welcoming and we were never kept waiting. I was a little intimidated by the menu but I bet I could’ve ordered anything and it would’ve been good. The sea bass (pictured) was so juicy and tender, I’ve never had such a delicious piece of fish. We spent about $118 on three appetizers and the sea bass -including a 25% tip because again, the service and atmosphere were incredible.
Excellent variety of Chinese dishes and the servers explain what is in the meal. I really enjoy this restaurant and go there often.
This restaurant delivers an exhilarating authentic dim sum experience with top-notch service. Every dish arrives steaming hot, showcasing consistently high quality throughout the menu. The dim sum is simply outstanding—the Har Gow and Siu Mai are masterfully crafted, featuring delicate skins and flavorful fillings. If you’re craving authentic traditional flavors in a warm, inviting atmosphere, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Each dish we sampled was fresh, bursting with flavor, and served hot. The service was speedy and friendly, and the lively atmosphere made the entire dining adventure even more memorable.
It's a shame this restaurant is not closer to where I live. I only get to enjoy it when I drive up to shop at the outlet. First of all, there's another May flower in Fremont, same owner but vastly different in every single way. Dublin location is cleaner, better decorated, and has superior food. My number 1 favorite is their beef. It's so tender I have no idea how they make it! I always order their "beef chow fun". Other than that, their dim sum is also pretty good. The BBQ pork bun is now baked instead of steamed. It has that pineapple crust that gives it a crunchy texture and a dash of sweetness. Only complain I have is the wrapping they use for shrimp dumpling. It is not as chewy, a bit soggy at times.
This restaurant offers a truly authentic dim sum experience with exceptional service. Every dish arrives piping hot, and the quality is consistent across the menu. The dim sum is outstanding—the Har Gow and Siu Mai are perfectly crafted with delicate skins and savory fillings. Beyond the small bites, the noodles are delicious and well-seasoned, and the fried rice is a standout, featuring a classic 'wok hei' that makes it incredibly flavorful. If you’re looking for top-tier traditional flavors in a welcoming atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit.
Food here is pretty good. The dishes we got were flavorful and tasty. The ginger noodles were different than typical noodles I have eaten, but they were pretty good. I can’t remember the names of the dishes but they were all tasty. The only downside is that it is kind of expensive. I do like how they give us peanuts and some sort of pickled vegetable. The giant disco ball horse at the entrance is really cool too. The staff was nice too. Overall, a good experience and no complaints.
If you’re looking for amazing Chinese food, Mayflower is the place to go. The quality of the food is consistently outstanding, and the portions are generous—definitely great value for the price. The highlight for me is the Peking duck. It’s perfectly prepared, with crispy skin, tender meat, and all the traditional accompaniments. Easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere made the dining experience even better. The bus boy named Christian went out of his way to keep us our table clean and refilling our drinks. Highly recommend Mayflower for anyone craving delicious, authentic Chinese dishes!
You could tell how great this place is when you see a bunch of old Chinese people! We ordered the deep fried milk with almonds, Singapore Noodles, Egg tart, Steamed pork bun, Shu Mai, Tripe, Taro puff, deep fried crab/shrimp puff. We had upstairs seating which was much more elegant and modern.
Amazing everything! We had coworkers from Taiwan visiting our location, and after a week of everyone taking them to American restaurants we took them here. Mayflower has the closest to the most authentic Asian dishes that we hoped they would enjoy. They did. They were impressed. Dim sum menu during lunch hours. A few on the dinner menu. Everything was delicious! Service was so attentive and not intrusive.
Wow! Ok, it was a little expensive, but TOTALLY WORTH it. Dim sum all day! Their Dim Sum menu was so nice that I didn't want to write on it 😁 Food was amazing! Nice BIG pieces. Delicious. Perfect. Service was attentive. Private restrooms, not stalls - and very clean. They were using just one hall at lunch but they looks like they have seating for very large parties. Check out the pictures I took.
Their food is awesome and the dim sum is to die for. This is a very popular place so prepare for a wait on the weekends. I love their Har Gaw and shrimp balls. The Singapore style noodles and the house special crispy noodles are also very good. This restaurant is a must visit if you love Chinese food.
Always 10/10 for dim sum. Weekday late lunch is perfect time to get in for a table. No dim sum carts, but a perfect a la carte menu so everything comes out hot. Faves: sticky rice in lotus leaf, taro, daikon cake, and Chinese broccoli. All very fresh and very hot. Jasmine tea was also great!
I was there for dinner on Saturday. The location is good, parking is easy to find. The restaurant looks clean, which is important for dining. The food I ordered was delicious overall. Only the #123 fried rice was tasted kind of flat, compared to other dishes. Their service were pretty good. No complaints at all.
Delicious Chinese restaurant serving all the standard Dim Sum staples you've come to expect. Some of my favorite dishes here include the fried bean curd skin, beef tripe, chicken sticky rice, egg tarts. The stir-fried veggies we ordered were very large portions. Everything here was good and I don't think you can go wrong. Plenty of parking and the food came out quickly and service was courteous.
First time here. Very pretty establishment with fancy individual restrooms. We ordered the Peking duck, house special crispy noodles and calamari. Everything came out hot and quickly even though the restaurant was packed on NYE evening. The calamari was crispy and tender, the noodles were mixed with perfection and the duck was so delicious. Very tender with crispy skin.
Foods tasted very good and theirpresentation was exceptional. The goods came quickly. Service was also good. Took out a star because they didn't change our plate once. Food prices were above normal.
The food was decent, quite authentic for Chinese food (I’m judging as a canton person), but it’s a bit pricy for what it is. Fusion delight in San Leandro offers better price for the food, but MayFlower is overall cleaner and has better service
Clean and good Chinese food. The dimsum selection was great very traditional. Recommend this place!
We drive from San Jose to eat here and go to the outlets when we have a craving. Got there an hour and a half after opening and only had to wait 5-10 minutes. Ordered all our our regulars but tried something new that we’ve never ordered the honey walnut prawns. Big mistake. They just threw the Mayo on top. I love Mayo but that was not good(you can see in the picture). One 2 of our items didn’t come for over an hour so we canceled them. Hopefully next time will be better. The xo noodle, the xo turnip cake, shrimp rolled noodle, tripe, and salt and pepper fried tofu are our favorites.
Visited here with a large group. Like 2 full tables. They have lots of space here, with two floors. The second floor is accessible on the side of the building, around the corner from their main entrance. (The video is of the second floor area with how to find the washrooms.) It’s clean, the food is good, and the service was fantastic. They went over and above.
Mayflower Restaurant is very famous. This one at the Grafton Station in Dublin is one of their restaurants in the Bay Area. I have Dim Sum breakfasts and dinners here many times. However, this is the first time I sat in their second-floor dining room. The dining room on the second floor is smaller than their main dining room on the ground floor but still nice and comfortable. The service is very good. But the quality of the Dim Sum is not as good as before! It is just about average. All the Dim Sum dishes I tried are just okay. Nothing stands out as what the Mayflower usually does. I'm a little disappointed with the Dim Sum, but fortunately, they still have good customer service.
I don’t dine at Mayflower often and usually I think of the place for its dim sum. We were invited to dinner by a friend and got to try its dinner menu for the second time in more than a decade of living in Dublin. I’m glad we had dinner here. I was quite impressed by its food. The dish that stood out and took me by complete surprise was the baked beef ribs in house special sauce. The bone next to the beef was a good presentation as I almost thought it could have been bone marrow and I salivated uncontrollably. The beef pieces were so juicy and tender that I was in disbelief. It had a perfect combination of fat and lean meats. I think I could have finished that dish myself, but of course… I had to share. Lol. I did not expect much from the sweet and sour sole filet, but the fish tasted great. It was so easy to pop those pieces in my mouth. I also liked most of the BBQ combo platter, and especially the roasted duck. Think I would get roasted duck from this place now. The hot and sour seafood soup was the least of my favorite - I do eat spicy food, but I didn’t care much for the spiciness in this soup as it overpowered the rest of the soup. I like seafood with tofu pot, but compared with the rest of the dishes, this dish just seemed ordinary. Still tasted great with large squid, shrimp, and scallop pieces. I did not pay for this meal so I cannot comment on its value, but I must say that I liked the food quality. It must not have been cheap, but to enjoy a meal like this once in a while is worthwhile - 4.5 stars!
It was our first time here. The staff was very friendly and appeared more professional than staff at other Asian restaurants. For this, I would give them 5 stars. We asked for hot water instead of tea, but when we got the bill, we were charged $2 each for tea. We explained that we didn’t ask for tea, so we shouldn’t be charged. Later, a corrected bill came, but we were surprised to see that we were charged $0.80 each for just hot water. This is the first time in an Asian restaurant that we’ve been charged for hot water. We also ordered a whole Peking Duck. We were disappointed that the pancakes were placed on the duck skin, making it soggy instead of crispy. We’re not sure if the duck wasn’t prepared well or if the pancakes caused the issue, but the meat still tasted juicy. Overall, I would give them 3 stars.
The quality of dim sum is far from satisfactory considering the price. The egg tart is not warm enough when being served, and durian pastry was even a bit cold in the middle. The steamed items like chicken feet and beef tripe were like reheating from the frozen. The worst one is Shanghai dumpling (小笼包), it tasted like that it was from Costco.
The food was good but some of it came out cold. I ordered an old fashion and it looked like someone had already sipped through more than half of it; furthermore there was a hair stuck to the side of the glass pretty gross. The waiter was not friendly and seemed irritated. This place was expensive and the drink pour was so little to the extent of embarrassment. The fact that there was a hair stuck to the side of my glass shows the lack of attention on the waiters part. It was my first time there and the first impression was subpar to say the least.
It’s a popular Chinese restaurant in Pleasanton. The HK style pan fried noodles are popular as well as other familiar recipes, everything’s well done. The service and atmosphere are all upscale. However, there’s nothing special to speak off. The food is good but ordinarily good, you know what I mean? The prices are another level too. Quite expensive for ordinary.
I recently visited Mayflower Restaurant in Dublin, and as someone with an Indian background and a strong love for bold, flavorful food, I had a wonderful experience. The dishes were rich in authentic Chinese flavors more subtle than Indian cuisine, but incredibly well-balanced and aromatic. I particularly appreciated the variety on the menu and the generous portion sizes. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Unfortunately, being served in broken dishes was disappointing, so I’m taking off two stars. Hope they improve the presentation.
Initial Impression on Walk In: Smells like ROTTING SEAFOOD. Saw a dead fish in the tank. Went for dinner on a Wednesday... Food was too expensive and the quality and taste was poor. NO WOK FLAVOR AT ALL dim sum okay good, but not the best... I don't think I would go again... I've only gone for dim sum and it's okay... but when I'm not eating it .... I see everything else .... And it's not good
They greeted us in Cantonese, which we didn’t understand, and despite plenty of empty tables, we were still made to wait for about 20 minutes. When the tall, slim guy told us that one of the dim sum items we ordered was sold out, he simply canceled it without asking if we wanted a replacement or suggesting alternatives. The food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. The service was terrible, rushed, impatient, and unwelcoming. Not coming back again
Very disappointed that my order of whole Peking duck was missing a lot of duck. There were parts of skins spread out to look fuller, but sadly no duck pieces underneath. Tray of meat weighed barely 1.5 lb. If you’re charging $58 for whole duck, at least give me a decent amount representative of 3/4 to a whole duck. Don’t cheat your to go order customers. If this were served on a plate in a restaurant, it would have looked super silly.
Mayflower came recommended from a neighbor for good Honey Walnut Prawns in a nice Chinese restaurant, so I had high hopes that were shattered as soon as we walked in. Besides darkness the first thing you see are big cardboard boxes stashed in a corner and an empty ugly looking unused side part of the restaurant. It felt like walking into a mausoleum in total darkness. The 2 tables where they opened the curtains were not available to us and the hostess and waiting staff had total attitude that we dared to ask for a table with some daylight and did not offer to open the curtains. Right then and there we should have left. When we opened the menu we had sticker shock. The 3rd class ambiente, hovering service, shooing you out as soon as your plate is 2/3 empty does not justify the prices! The Honey Walnut prawns were okay, too much flour and hardly any walnuts, but eating 7 prawns and a sparkling water, no rice or anything else, for $48 per person is daytime robbery! Needless to say that the doggy bag of rubbery floury prawns landed in the garbage next day. And to top it all off I had full view of a dirty dishes trolly parked right next to us. Any fast food restaurant offers a classier dining experience than that. We will never be back and hopefully this review will serve as a warning to other unprepared guests hoping for a nice Chinese meal out in Dublin.
My friends went here for Dim Sum and then ordered a Dry beef stir fry with rice noodle 亁炒牛河to take home for us. This is a popular and basic Cantonese dish that any Cantonese style restaurant should be good at. However, to my surprise, this take out 亁炒牛河 was tasteless, lack favors and no Wok favor at all and the beef was not good also. I wonder who cooked this tasteless noodle and sold us for $22. A restaurant must be very bad to fail so badly at this dish and this came from the famous Mayflower. We tried to bring it back for refund or exchange but they were closed due to weather so we give up. The food was similarly bad when we ate Chinese New Year Dinner here 4 years ago.
Food is terrible and way way way over priced. Gave it a chance twice and never going back. It's for people who don't know the value and quality of dum sum. Ordered beef chow fun and they gave us crap from the night before, all mush & they don't know how to follow instructions. Add ginger doesn't mean add strands of ginger on top, I should have told my dad to go in the back and cook it for us while schooling these so called chefs. All the dim sum ha gow, siu mai, seen jook guen, now yook cheung is all flour no beef flavor or even chan pay, all flavorless. They have the nerve to charge 49 bucks for beef stew, it better have been A5 but im sure it wasn't. Tired of these restaurant groups and their BS. Tea was flavorless and bitter, it's garbage.
Disappointed with how a food safety issue was handled. We recently dined here and ordered a seafood fried rice. While eating, my child suddenly pulled a large, sharp piece of shell out of his mouth. It was big enough to potentially cause injury, which was very concerning. We notified the server, he immediately took away the fried rice along with the piece of shell. Initially we were told to order a different fried rice instead of remaking it, which was surprising. After speaking with the manager, they agreed to remake the seafood fried rice and assured us it would be safe. In the end, we were still charged for the dish despite the food safety issue. Finding a sharp shell in a child’s food is concerning, and I expected better handling of the situation. I hope management takes food safety more seriously moving forward.
