Strong entrance to the Dublin steak house scene and amazing addition to restaurant diversity in the area. Diverse menu from steaks to oysters fish and chips French soup. Friendly attentive staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Steak perfectly cooked tartare superb. Can’t wait to try rest of menu !
Me and my boyfriend visited this newly opened hidden gem steakhouse in D4, the restaurant has a cosy ambiance, the warm, dimmer light, and trendy deco set for a stage for an intimate dining experience. The starter is so fresh and tasty, the steak cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with a rich , smoky flavor , food served by attentive and knowledgeable staff, the drink menu that we had a lots of options to choose from, the open kitchen with the real charcoal just next level. 👍
Incredible food with very nice and accommodating staff. I had the French onion soup, the fillet cooked medium rare and have the sticky toffee pudding. I go back in a heartbeat
Had our New Years anniversary dinner at Oxhorn and we were so happy with this restaurant. It was a success! We shared the Tomahawk, grassfed irish beef and cooked rare like we love it and it was soooooo GOOD! Staff was professional and friendly. Also very calm and welcoming atmosphere and they seated us at the perfect table for us to sit more privately. This is such a recommended spot for all meat lovers visiting Ireland! Highly recommended!
Amazing meal! We came for the Steelers game and came here after for my husbands birthday. Excellent way to wrap up our trip. The French martini was to die for…I wish I could have had more! Chateaubriand was fabulous…the roasted tomatoes…fabulous! sweet potatoes were delicious, veggies were delicious, just everything! Excellent service from the owner. Can’t say enough good things!
We came a little earlier and asked if we could have a drink first. The lady at the front desk welcomed us straight away. There were blankets outside, and she even turned the heater on for us — such a thoughtful touch. Service was quick, menus came straight away, and our drinks were absolutely delicious (honestly, some of the best I’ve had). When it was time for our table, she was so kind and polite, making us feel completely at home. A little later, when a couple left, she offered us a larger table tucked away in the corner — of course we said yes, and it made the evening feel even more special. The food? Out of this world. Our starters — steak tartare and oysters — were spot on. My main was beef, cooked blue, and I swear I’ve never had a steak like that in my life. No salt, no extras, nothing needed — just perfection, especially with the mash and peppercorn sauce. My partner had the burger, which looked incredible, and when I stole a bite, it was every bit as good as it looked. Desserts took it to another level. Sticky toffee pudding for him, chocolate fondue for me — and let me just say, the fondue was like an actual explosion of joy. I’ve never experienced a dessert quite like it. Honestly, I can’t believe this restaurant isn’t packed every single day. If you’re in Dublin, do yourself a favour: go here. If you don’t, you’re wasting your life.
I had the pleasure of dining at Oxhorn Grill during a recent stay in Dublin, and it quickly became my go-to place—I ended up eating here three times in just a few days! The food is outstanding. I can highly recommend the fillet steak with gambas and salad—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish I tried was fresh and delicious, and you can tell that both the kitchen and service teams truly care about quality. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, yet also modern, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal whether you’re traveling or a local. What really made the difference for me was the hospitality. From my very first visit, the staff were warm, professional, and incredibly kind—they genuinely made me feel at home. That welcoming spirit extended from the service team to the kitchen, and it’s rare to find a place where you feel that level of care. Located in a beautiful part of Dublin, Oxhorn Grill is a place I’d recommend to both visitors and locals alike. If you’re looking for amazing food, top-notch service, and a welcoming environment, this is the spot!
Small cozy steakhouse, but they also had other great selections. As a starter, i had the onion soup, which was nice. Not salty compared to others. 10 oz rib eye with garlic butter was cooked perfectly. I added the gambas, which was very succulent. I was also impressed with their fish and chips. After having it at other nearby establishments, it was the best out of all of them. I recommend this place if you are in Dublin Ireland.
My husband and I spent two days in Dublin last week and had dinner at the Oxhorn after reading the reviews. They weren't wrong, our meal was superb we both had fillet steak which were the best steaks ever. My side dish was baked sweet potato with pecan nuts and it was so different and delicious. For dessert we had crème brulé which was lovely. We went back for lunch before heading home and the french onion soup and fish and chips were delicious. I must mention the staff who were so friendly. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
It’s a small restaurant but it delivers big! The chef expertly plated the dishes. We had the French Onion soup, it was delicious. We shared the Cote de Boeuf with mashed potatoes and broccoli, the broccoli was so tender! The steak melted in your mouth.it was prepared perfect. We didn’t have room for dessert, we saw some go past and it looked awesome. Definitely worth a visit!
Gorgeous restaurant! Steaks were perfect, the staff were the highlight, so kind and attentive. Food arrived at a lovely pace aswell, not too fast but not too slow! Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Will be back!
Had an amazing dinner at Oxhorn Grill—easily one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a while! The lobster pasta was packed with rich, buttery goodness, and the steak sandwich, Absolute perfection. Cooked just right, and the garlic dip took it to a whole new level. The friendly, attentive staff and beautiful location made the experience even better. Definitely add Oxhorn Grill to your list—you won’t be disappointed!
Myself and my wife had a really lovely meal. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the food was excellent. It was a welcome sight to see a menu which was well executed and not overly “fussy”. My wife had the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare, which was lovely and fresh. We shared the Tomahawk, which came with 2 sides and 2 sauces. It was perfectly cooked with a lovely smokey flavour from the charcoal oven. We shared the chocolate tart which was lovely as well. It was a really nice meal and at all times we felt attended to, without it being overbearing. Highly recommended, and we will certainly be coming back. Looking forward to trying the Sunday roast.
We actually were headed to the place next door when this place caught our attention. We decided to try the food here. My wife ordered the special, and it's what's pictured. I ordered a ribeye with mash potatoes. The steak was absolutely delicious, and so was my wife's fish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My friend also ordered the lamb chops, which he destroyed. Such amazing service and nice. The beers are also good. Oh, and possibly the best carrots I've had. Now the mash potatoes did need a little butter, so I took some from the steak butter they gave me and boom.
Absolutely blown away by the quality of food and services, I had the best steak of my life and as a bartender myself, the old fashioned made by the girl who ALSO took our order was perfect 👌 The Chinese chef also gave us a prawn cocktail on the house and had a lovely chat with him! 11/10 experience and definitely will come back like I live downstairs 🍻
Had the tomahawk steak here and some wine. Nice place consistent quality. Not a standout steak, but would come back
We were delighted to discover that right beside our favorite Japanese Izakaya, a steak house has been newly opened. Absolutely loving the decor as we walked in, the trendy Maillard colour and style clashed so well with the golden greenish/gray background, both are the most chased after themes of this year’s runway looks. You won’t be disappointed if you bring your trendy friends for a picturesque fine dining experience. Well, the most surprising part of our dinner was the Michelin star graded starters. We ordered sautéed wild mushrooms which was beautifully presented on a bed of chestnut purée. It was so gamey and perfectly opened up our appetite for our main course which was a medium rare Tomahawk steak to share between the two of us. The steak came with two sauces and was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and flavorsome. It’s the best quality Irish steak you can find in town. The baked sweet potato with pecan and honey truffle was to die for, so creamy and delicious. We also ordered another starter which was smoked salmon and crab meat with avocado purée. It was presented as a lollipop which was fun to feed to each other with the stick. The texture and flavors were combined beautifully. We also decided to try their beef tartare starter which was what you would expect at a fine restaurant may produce. The meat was of high quality and we finished all three starters with satisfying smiles on our faces. We also treated ourselves with some cocktails and an Italian organic red. We really were too full at this stage for any deserts but we couldn’t resist the chocolate brownie and Irish ice cream. What a fantastic finish to a perfect meal. Btw, the on duty manager was very knowledgeable with the food and drinks. The waiting staff and bartender were all so friendly and helpful. The open kitchen was also a highlight, you could see the confident and highly skilled, organized chefs diligently and passionately preparing your food. Flawless. Overall it was such an amazing dinner and I have no doubt, I’ll visit it again and again. Wholeheartedly recommended!
Great new restaurant. Lovely ambiance. Menu not too big which is a good sign. Great steak and fish options. Food was lovely. Great drink options. Great value too. Thanks to Adi and all his team. Will be back.
Went for a company dinner. We shared some starters and ordered a fillet for the main, wine, and the entire experience, but mainly, the food was amazing. Very attentive staff who looked after us all the time. It's really good and fully recommended, very nice steakhouse.
It was awesome! Nice service and great food!
Superb! Absolutely flawless, food is really tasty and great presented. Service was a top notch, a lots of passion delivered from the start to finish. Very recommended, and definitely will back!
Excellent food in a cosy environment. We had the steak tartar and the tomahawk with veggies and sweet potato (amazing!) as sides. Good attention from the waiters. We'll definitely come back!
Yum! I’ve been really into steak lately and this has come to be my favorite spot. We shared a cote de boeuf, cooked medium, it was perfect. Staff was very friendly too. One thing though guys, the sticky toffee pudding needed to be stickier, aka more sauce :) So good though
tomahawk, lovely go for it :) I will be definitely back for other tastes.
Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of dining at my Oxhorn grill, new steak house, and I was absolutely blown away. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, and the menu was packed with mouth-watering options. I started with the oysters and scallops that we shared with my partner, which were perfectly prepared. For my main course, I ordered the filet steak, and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful, and it was cooked to perfection. My sides, the French fries and broccoli , were also delicious. Our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of our questions about the menu and made sure that we had a wonderful dining experience. We finished with a couple cocktails which were on par with the best cocktail bars in Dublin. Their mixologist really knows it’s stuff… Overall, we had an amazing time at Oxhorn Grill (O.G). The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great steak dinner.
Excellent steaks, so tender and tasty. Nice side dishes and lovely onion soup. Good service.
Absolutely unreal. Starter through to Desert were 10/10. Steak was delicious and the wine was a brilliant match. Nice vibes inside there.
I really liked the food, the steak and cocktails were great, good service overall and nice atmosphere
We had a fabulous birthday celebration at Oxhorn Grill for me and my twin, along with our family. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff stood out with their attentiveness and warm service, making us feel special throughout the celebration. We will definitely be back for more memorable occasions!!
We were only in for a simple meal as it was late. The service, food and ambience were all great. Will be back for the full steak experience.
Lovely staff and lovely food. We had their Monday steak for two, it was huge and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will be back. Sunday carvery also looks lovely and great value.
Steak cooked to perfection, impeccable service and a lovely staff! They can accommodate halal if you let them know a day or two in advance.
Went with a group of 3, on a Thursday, around 7:30pm. Walked in off the street with no reservation. We were seated right away, but the service (wait time between sitting and ordering, time it took for drinks to come out, etc) was pretty bad. Food was amazing though, so I’d give it another shot.
Had the lunchtime special which was fish & chips with a soup of the day. Food was reasonable and service was quick. Had a pleasant experience, but would not particularly fancy going back. The steak and fries looked like the best dish on the menu.
4.5 / 5 Great place for lunch: €16 for a tasty steak sandwich. Quick and efficient service. Vibe is nice but it's too dark inside - I suggest during daytime to make it easier on the eyes...
Really nice restaurant for a weeknight meal, especially if you're out with customers/colleagues. The grilled food is lovely, I had the veal which I was nervous about but needn't have been. Someone else went for the lamb chops and I had immediate food envy, they looked amazing, everyone enjoyed their food, and the price was fair. My one criticism is that I returned on a Sunday because I figured the Sunday roast would be as good, and unfortunately it was, not sure if it was the chef, or what but the meat was good but wasn't used to a smoky flavour to my roast, and they hadn't quite got the gist of potatoes with veggies and *gravy*. All in all I'd absolutely go back (but not on Sunday :) ) 8/10
Based on the reviews we were expecting to be blown away and were left disappointed and underwhelmed. The cocktails were great. We ordered the tomahawk steak for two we it ordered medium rare and it arrived more on the rare side and was lacking seasoning. The chimichurri arrived as a thick paste rather than a sauce. Service was good although the hostess didn’t offer to take our coats and we also asked for ketchup with the fries which never arrived.
I was so disappointed after dining in The Oxhorn yesterday evening. We live outside Dublin but after a fabulous meal there last Christmas we decided we would travel to this restaurant every Christmas. In the past they had a set three course meal which was very good. They don’t offer this anymore also in the past the Sunday roast was available in the evening, it now stops at 5. The starters we had were good, French Onion Soup and Prawns. The main course I had was lamb shank, for some very strange reason it was served with cuscus and was so disappointing. When I said this to the waitress she said I could have asked for mashed potatoes ! It would have been an idea to ask me if I would like it served with cuscus, mash or fries. A side of fries was €6.50 for a tiny basket of frozen fries. The restaurant was cold and I had to ask if we could move table as I was sitting in a draft from the door. The tables were very tight to each other and made me feel like we were almost sitting at the same table as other guests. There was no atmosphere. We will not return.
