Great experience here. All the food tasted great. I was slightly disappointed with the blue fin tuna sashimi. It had some hard sinew and was a bit chewed compared to blue fin tuna I've tried in the past. Also prefer my sashimi cut thinner in general. We were seated in the lower level which wasnt was almost empty. That meant we didnt have staff walking through and was reliant on our waiter coming to us rather than us being able to flag him as needed. Would definitely visit again as all the sushi was fresh and tasty.
Amazing experience! The food was incredibly tasty and fresh, with beautifully presented dishes and very generous portion sizes. The service was outstanding — friendly, fast, and genuinely polite. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a great vibe that made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!
I stopped by a few times in Yoi Izakaya and they have fantastic Japanese cuisine. Tried a few dishes and everything is fresh and very delicious. But one things personally for me stood out - I have never had so tasty pork gyoza, absolutely a winner compared to any place with Japanese cuisine I've been to. Their service is top-notch, and the place has a very cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a must-visit spot for Japanese food lovers!
First time here and it didn’t disappoint. Came highly recommended. Had the pork for starters. Came out on rectangular plate with soya sauce. For mains had teriyaki chicken with noddles ( to die for) and the soup came in the little cup. Finally had the mini tiramisu for desert. Drinks wise they had Tiger on draught so I stuck with that.
We only had ramen but it was delicious! I have tried Hippie. It had a sound portion of very tender meat. Vegan one was also very nice.
I had an amazing experience at Yoi Izakaya in Dublin. From start to finish, everything was spot-on. The food was genuinely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Every dish felt carefully crafted, and it was clear a lot of pride goes into their menu. The service was just as impressive. Staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling rushed. They created a relaxed atmosphere that made the whole visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a spot that delivers a consistently high-quality dining experience, I definitely recommend checking out Yoi Izakaya. I’ll absolutely be back!
We visited once a month ago and even then we knew we would be back. Nice atmosphere, amazing service, and what can I say about the food - we were speechless. Some of the most delicious Japanese dishes we have tried on the island. Attention to every detail. Thank you for the hospitality and even though Dublin is far from home, we will definitely be back ❤️ BTW, I'm in love with the fish and her hat 🐠
It was a Friday night that we visited and the restaurant was packed with people and vibrant atmosphere. I asked a waiter if we could move to terrace. The service was very friendly and polite, we were grateful for the hospitality. It was a lovely experience with fresh seafood and some Japanese tapas, it was such a comfort to my stomach missing homie cuisine for a while.
Visited last Friday and was blown away by the quality of the food here! Their sushi rolls are packed with fresh, premium ingredients—no shortcuts. The salmon sashimi was honestly the freshest I’ve ever had; it melted in my mouth with such a sweet, buttery flavor. Also, don’t skip their meat dishes! The pork ribs were flavorful and tender, but the real star was the ramen with steak—the beef was cooked *perfectly* and added such richness to the broth. Despite how busy they were, the staff stayed incredibly friendly and attentive. You can tell they take pride in both their food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
Had an amazing dining experience at Yoi Izakaya! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual night out or a special occasion. The food was outstanding—authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and incredibly fresh. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the duck teriyaki and sashimi stood out the most. The service was excellent as well—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Great selection of sake too! Definitely one of the best izakayas in town. Can’t wait to come back!
Had an incredible dinner at Yoi Izakaya—such a treat! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish packed full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Plus, the atmosphere and location are beautiful, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Definitely add Yoi Izakaya to your must-visit list! 🍣🍜
looove the takoyaki and food are really big portion lovely food
Best food I had in Ireland hands down. Very cute restaurant. They keep it very neat and clean. The food was fantastic. I’m a very picky eater and this food was absolutely delicious. All meals tasted fantastic. Best food we had in Dublin. Staff is great too. Our waitress was so adorable and great. Thank you! Make sure to check this place out.
YOI Izakaya is a fantastic spot for Japanese food in Dublin. The restaurant is split into two levels, with a lively atmosphere during lunch hours. Despite the busyness, the serving and preparation time is reasonable at around 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Rainbow Futomaki, which was impressive in size, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The Tuna Teppanyaki was equally satisfying with generously portioned, perfectly cooked, and showcasing the freshness of the fish. Overall, YOI Izakaya is a must-visit for Japanese food enthusiasts. The quality, flavor, and portion sizes make it a standout choice in Dublin. Highly recommended!
Had an amazing dinner here with my friends and really felt like being in Japan while eating there. Delicious, fair priced Japanese food. And the staff were exceptionally lovely, always asking if we needed something with huge smile on their face and we ended up tipping even though we never tip.
Lovely restaurant with relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! Every dish on the menu looked divine it was so hard to choose! I will definitely be returning.
My recent visit was NYE 2023. Food quality and services are fantastic. Despite it being NYE and many of us still sitting in well past closing time, we weren't bothered or rushed to leave and staff were still accommodating. Overall, very tasty food, one of the best in its kind within Dublin. The staff are brilliant. Never a disappointment, highly recommended.
I ate Donburi, and it was wonderful. The restaurant was clean and calm, and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend it.
Chicken ramen and sushi were really tasty. Based on comments here I was expecting a bit more to be honest but that was great in overall, nothing to complain about the service and food. Mochi was just standard, it was good yet not amazing. I really liked that restaurant, will definitely visit again but I have eaten very similar ones in other Japanese restaurants as well in Dublin. Prices were great, affordable and fair.
Tasty food and great service. Awesome range of cocktails. A large family of 3 generations of Cantonese speakers just behind me enjoying the food. (Cantonese are fussy eaters.) Immaculate toilets, the cleanest I have ever seen. There is a downstairs area for more dinners and large groups but this was empty as I walked past the bathrooms.
For a Japanese fan, I highly recommend this newly opened Japanese restaurant! The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are novel, and they break through the traditional Japanese mode. It is recommended that you must try it when you have a chance. The dessert is also amazing.
A delightful japanese resto experience. While the broth of the ramen did not scorch our taste buds with fiery heat to fight cold weather, the ramen is rich with umami flavors, perfectly complemented by tender meat and toppings. They have other mouth watering dishes as well that is worth to try.
Quiet dinner on Paddy's day, It was late dining and the restaurant was quiet but the service was superb and the dinner was very nice. We had Ramen with Gyozas, away from the chaos in the centre
I really loved this place. As a Japanese food lover mainly sushi 🍱 plates, my friends introduced this place to me and when I checked in ordered 3 main sushi dishes and my friends ordered ramen and other dishes (from which I tried each) and everything was fantastic!! Also very clean!
This place is a guarantee. the food is exquisite! Probably the best in the area. Quality and freshness of the product made it a very good choice. Price quite reasonable. I usually order to take away, but the restaurant is really nice too.
Brilliant place. Staff is very friendly, caring and chatty. The food is delicious. Location is nice and relatively quiet, and also has a terrace so you can eat outside. My friend are the duck, and said it was the best ever. I tried the vegan ramen and it was really good.
By far the best Japanese restaurant in Dublin. The food is incredible, the service is excellent, the price is fair and the staff are genuinely great. I’ve been in the restaurant multiple times and the reviews here speak for themselves. Whatever the owner is doing right, please keep it up!
Again with my other reviews, I genuinely like this restaurant ❤️ but commenting every restaurant as 5 stars might cause some confusion and hesitation, so 4* stars it is! Okay, so I went here with my parents- day two of our trip, I think. We hadn’t had to wait for a long while to get in, which is great. As we sat down, I noticed that the staff were mainly/all Asian, which is a comforting sight for an exchange student like me 🥲. In any case, we got ramen, fried noodles and rice pots 丼. The ramen, with the noodles being of a different kind, was different from what I used to eat, but still tasty. The fried noodles- with the sauces and meat, tasted amazing (it was the one I chose!). The rice pot was equally tasty, but the meat was slightly more dry. In terms of atmosphere, it’s darker, but has sufficient, bright light. The chatter doesn’t bother me very much, unless someone chooses to talk loudly lol 😂. So overall, it’s a 4+ stars from me. It reminds me of the Japanese cuisine I ate and loved, and it’s understandable due to how expensive it is to import the original stuff from other places. So yeah, for exchange students and absolutely everyone else, go do yourself a favour and eat at the restaurant!
Yoi izakaya was a great Japanese restaurant. The things me and my family tried were the tonkosu ramen, alaska sushi and the normal karage. The karage was well seasoned and didnt have to much batter on the inside making the chicken stand out. It was perfectly seasoned and didnt need any sauce. The sushi was also very good. It had loads of toppings inside. The colours made it stand out alot. The ramen was brilliant. It had loads of soup and meat too.
This is a very nice restaurant and specially their lunch menu is delicious 😋 and affordable. I liked their bento box 🍱 a lot also their Yasai set at 12 euro is superb amazing. Must try this restaurant for a authentic Japanese cuisine. Also near this restaurant there is a famous valentino bakery for coffee and croissant.
We made a reservation for 19:30 and arrived early, so we entered and the hostess sat us down. We ordered right away: fried duck gyozas for starters and we waited 20min for them. The couple next to us, sat down after and they were served first. The gyozas were okay, I wouldn't order again. Very crispy tho, that was good. For the main meal we ordered the Nastu Salmon Lovers and the Gyuniku Donburi Rice. The sushi felt fresh but the pieces were too big; if it was the same amount of sushi but with more pieces, then it would've been perfect. The rice bowl was very good. It came with a side of Miso soup, which was very good too. The atmosphere was chaotic. There were like two groups there and one of them was very loud; sometimes we had to yell at each other so we could have a conversation. The service from the waitresses was okay, they didn't talk much, only asked what we wanted to drink. The service from the hostess was the best! She was very nice, asking if we needed anything and if the food was good. In the end the check came with two chocolates, I asked if I could trade one (cause I didn't like it) and she told me to get 3 more. It was a very nice service from her.
Nice place, the food is good, specially the sushi, the rice was cooked perfectly with a great texture, for the kimchi cha han it seemed a bit overcooked though. The gyozas were too crunchy for my liking and a bit too much deep fried, same as the wasabi prawn. Service was great though, very kind and attentive
I recently visited this restaurant with my Japanese friends and we ordered Yaki Soba, Unagi Donburi, Monkfish Karaage, and Japanese Mochi. Yaki Soba: The flavor was a bit complex, but it was still good to our taste. Unagi Donburi: It wasn't an authentic Japanese Unagi Donburi and the sauce was a bit salty, but it was still appetizing. Monkfish Karaage: Monkfish dishes are relatively expensive in Asia, so we always order Monkfish if it's available. The batter was thick, and after trying one or two pieces, it quickly felt greasy. Japanese Mochi: Quite nice; I would say this mochi was the best choice
I do not recommend the Original Tonkatsu Ramen. Reading its name, one would expect the look and taste of similarly named ramen found in Japan. Ironically, the name is for a localised context. The unoriginal ramen used maggie noodle, pak choy, coriander, and unstarched broth that lacked the porky taste, making this dish very poor in value for a restaurant-priced meal. Serving such dish in my country filled with Japan's Original Tonkatsu Ramen will definitely lead to the store's demise very quickly.
