This is my first time here. This place was recommended by my cousin Rachel. I took my male friend of 17 years here to celebrate our 17th year friendship. Great choice because he loves this style of food. It opens at 3pm and it gets crowded FAST! They had one server and she skipped me and my companion . We were there before the people whose order she took. The make up was I spotted Brenden . He was the bar server, but this man is AWESOME! I explained what transpired and he was such a great sport! I love him for that! He took our order without writing anything down. Such great service and a good memory from him I tipped him well. Our food came out before the server who skipped over us. I was pleased by that. The food was so gooood!! I mean it was delicious!! This is a must go to spot!! I forgot to take photos of the drinks.

Loved everything about this place! The food and the drinks were delicious! The atmosphere was awesome and the music that was playing was so good. I ordered the Alambre plate for dinner and a Hibiscus Margarita. My waiter Melvin was great! He recommended the Kiwi Margarita he said it tasted just like a Baja Blast. I have to go back and try it!

The decor of this Cantina is fun and has a very nice cancun feel to it . Our service was good sitting at the bar. They have a good taco. Tuesday special . The Barmaid made good mixed drinks. There was a slight issue because there was eight of us sitting at the bar and they wanted to put all our tabs on the same bill. I never really understand why they can’t do it individually as couples. If I had a calculator, I could do it sitting at the table, so I don’t understand why they can’t do it, but in any case we were all individually sitting at the bar this time, not at a table and they still said it was their policy because we were all friends to put it all on one bill which makes no sense at all because we were individually all sitting at the bar . So we asked for our drink bill and we were just gonna go down the street and eat at a different place that we have been to previously in the past that won’t put it all on one bill at which point we were told that if we stayed, they would put it on separate bills so we stayed and enjoyed our dinner. Just be aware that if you sit in this restaurant with more than four people, you will have the same issue. At the front door of this restaurant they have a sign that says four or more people will be charged all on the same bill as a group. And we found out that includes sitting at the bar. all in all we had a good time.

I really wanted this place to be great. I think it has potential maybe I’ll give it another shot. The margarita flights were a big disappointment too sweet and did they even have tequila in them? ( I doubt it) the Queso was watery.. my burrito was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant.. all in all it was ok.. I’ll be back because this place deserves a second chance

Im giving three stars because we love the food! Been coming here since the previous owner but now that they changed owners it’s HORRIBLE! The service is the worst. We wait so long to be taken care of they came and asked if we wanted to order when we had already ordered! Our food took forever! As a previous server you all need to have a something!

Update: from 5 stars to 3. What happened to this place? Changed their best dish (shrimp ceviche) Service is always so slow like nobody works there. Lots of potential being wasted. How many more years will the self-serve taps be empty on the wall? The food is actually great here but it seems like this place has other issues. Attached picture isn't served here anymore.

Came to celebrate my friends and sisters bday. We were sat not attended to for a while then the manager waited on us and she did not help the cause. She was not attentive and seemed a bit frazzled. I have heard this was a nice spot. I did see others come in and get assistance quickly. I am not sure what was going on. Please check in with the customer from time to time.

Very cool atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good tex-mex/American Mexican food. The portions are good as well. My main complaint would be price. The drinks are overpriced for the amount of alcohol. All of our drinks were just okay and could barely taste that they were even alcoholic. Would come back for the food and avoid going out to drink there. Visited on 7/31/20

My son wanted to go here for his Birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice. We were the Only 2 people in the restaurant besides the workers and it was after 5pm. Our waitress was very attentive and came back often to check on us. We ordered the Asada Fries. I was disappointed that the cheese on it wasn't totally melted on the whole order. This actually could have been a meal in its self. The main course was delicious but my rice and beans weren't hot at all. No I didn't ask to have them reheated. The guacamole was spot in with it's taste. When the bill came it was $92.00. I was like WHAT. We had to appetizers 2, 2 horchata drinks and 2 dinners. When I looked at the bill I noticed that they added the Tip for ONLY 2 people. I was like OK you get what you get. I was going to leave now, but they want to add the tip so she got the bare minimum of what they thought she should get. I can see adding the tip of its a Big party but NOT for 2 people. Not sure if I'll go back there again. As we were leaving 2 others came in.

Went to this restaurant yesterday with my girlfriend. Decor is decent with a fun dia de la muerte vibe but otherwise nothing special. We were sat and had to wait over 10 minutes for our server to come over and introduce herself despite the place being virtually empty. Our server had difficulty operating their portable food ordering machine but managed to get the order correct. My girlfriend ordered a michelada which came out quickly, but was Pre-made with no possibility of modification. The drink was flavorless, tasting mostly of the Modelo and lime she asked for the base. It was disappointing, but we were excited for our food. Unfortunately, after a significant wait my Riviera Salmon arrived and my girlfriend's goat, el pastor, and steak tacos arrived extremely bland and somewhat overcooked. Nothing had flavor at all, even the sauce for my overcooked Salmon. I'm astonished, I've never had Mexican food have no taste whatsoever. We expressed our disappointment to the waitress (who only came by once, after a long time, to check on us). She apologized for the poor food quality and gave us $5 off our bill due to our dissatisfaction. Will never return (and we live right next door at the Hampton in Highland apartment complex).

I did carry out and they had a band and the place was very festive and fun. But the food was just subpar. The chicken and steak fajita was overcooked and chewy. It also lacked seasoning. I had to add more seasoning when I got home. My burrito was supposed to be steak but the consistency was like potted meat or ground beef. I asked for no beans and they filled it with a ton of rice. EVERYTHING WAS HORRIBLE! from the service, to the food, to the prices! I would think you would be required to speak at lease a little English to service people. but on top of that to have an attitude while doing so is beyond me! I have never had any Mexican food without flavor. How is that even possible! The drinks were even terrible! And everything was overpriced. To top it off they charged Gratuity for a party of three! And it was almost half of my actual bill! Which was crazy because service was terrible!!! I asked the manager why was Gratuity added to my bill. He said that his servers has been getting "scammed " lately!..... (I wonder why) this place is trash!!!!! Don't waste your time. go to one of the many other Mexican restaurants in the area!!!

I had a bad experience in this place. The reservation was made for a party of 12 people. They gave us a private room. Tables were wobbly, and the servers seemed inexperienced. First they told us all drinks with crushed ice were unavailable such as Margaritas, when I went to use the restroom I noticed costumers drinking crushed iced beverages. From the menu I asked for a combo that includes 3 tacos, when I Was requested my order the server told me Shrimp taco was not included in the combo. The menu should be better explained. I had to change my order and I requested limes and salt with my order. When my food arrived there was no limes no salt, I think I requested for at lets 3 times, finally limes and salt were at my table, my food was cold, flavor was ok, under average I’d say. Let me tell you this was in winter time, guess what happened? The heater stopped working, it was colder inside the room that outside in the street, they couldn’t fix it. I was wearing my jacket, scarf, etc… They had to move us outside with the rest of the customers there was no longer a private party, Bad service, food tasted under average for a Mexican flavor, old furniture, never going back again. Do not offer me free food, gift certificates, new experience, never ever going back AGAIN!!!!.

I would not send my worst enemy in this place. Try Jalapeño or Asada for great service and food. Party of 7 with my grands from out of town asked for more salsa and chips we were told $2 for salsa and $4.50 for chips this has never happened at any restaurant it’s always complementary. Ordered a pitcher of margaritas no one at the bar and the janitor walks out the back with a mop in one hand and pitcher in the other after we got up to leave 45 min to fix a pitcher of drinks in the back absolutely not their loss because my family left and will never go back and the music was disgusting and too loud only plus the salsa was good I would advise you not to go in there but if you do you like taking risks I refuse to spend my money in a non professional and poorly run establishment that’s not how we do it here in USA you’ll learn

Walked in the restaurant on a Tuesday it says wait to be seated it was 3 girls at the bar no one acknowledge me until i start walking more inside like i was going to seat myself then she finally comes don’t speak don’t ask how I’m doing i just instantly says just for 2 on the patio. They supposed to have drink specials on Tuesday it’s $6 margaritas which is still advertised on the sign outside but when you order they are now $7 and a extra dollar for a flavor ok fine but change the sign. I ordered the carne asada medium well. It took sooo long to get my food which is fine if it’s going to come out fresh and hot but it’s wasn’t it was super cold and tough couldn’t chew the meat. (Which is on the side of the plate)Then to top it off it’s a charge for salsa isn’t this a Mexican restaurant why do i have to pay for sauce. Only thing good was the rice.

If i could give this place a -50 out of 10 I would. The service is terrible and the waiters and host are terrible. They play in the kitchen and bring you out cold food and never check on you. I came here with my two sisters and we were treated TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! Upon ordering food i saw that the menu said 20% gratuity for 4 people or more. Our group was a party of THREE (3) . When we received the bill we had a 20% gratuity. The waitress kept circling around to grab the check as if she was scared that we had noticed. When she finally came around and we mentioned it to her she acted like she could not speak english as if she didnt just speak English to take our order. When her “manager” (another waiter ) came she said it was nothing she could do and that thats how the system is. Another party was in the restaurant as well with a party of TWO (2) and they had a 20% gratuity as well. The situation escalated and the “manager “ decided to state she would call the police on us bc we were wrongly charged and had a complaint about being over charged. So I decided to call the police on out behalf as we are the victims. When the police arrived with us being in indiana they were slightly racist and they made the people who paid get marked down for trespassing when they were not. We came to have a girls dinner and unwind and instead we got trespassed and terrible service. On top of that when the police arrived ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE 20 PERCENT GRATUITY WAS REMOVED AFTER THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED. This place is a SCAM! The workers will try to cheat you out of your money and when you address it they will get defensive. THIS RESTAURANT WILL LIE TO YOU AND SCAM YOU!!! Do not spend your money. Food is not worth it
