Great food we had here recently, service was fast to start with but sitting by the columns made us feeling we were invisible towards the end, took us a while to catch the attention of the waiters. Lovely food and friendly staff.

We asked for a take away from this restaurant that doesn’t normally do takeaways as we just finished the South Downs Way, then had to catch a train. They staff could have done more for us, giving us our meal to eat on the go and not miss our train back. Fantastic food, attentive staff and great end to a long day that started in Falmer.

Visited Dem Shish last night to celebrate a birthday and it’s safe to say they did not disappoint! The food was absolutely gorgeous and you can tell it was made with heart and cooked perfectly, the cocktails were also some of the best in Eastbourne. Service was excellent, both waitresses and the owner himself made sure everything was okay, and the Celebration cake did not disappoint with the sparkles, music change and everyone joining in to celebrate!!! Overall I would recommend to anyone wanting to go on a date, celebrate a birthday or an overall night out, 10/10

Absolutely gorgeous food! Lovely place and friendly, attentive staff too. Music playing, great atmosphere - really lovely. Our first time here and I had a gluten free, vegan dish which was just heavenly. Others with me said their seafood pasta was wonderful too.

This place is a 9 out 10 Food is absolutely awesome Decor and lay out of the restaurant great Staff are so hard working but still have a smile and are friendly Menu choice is great and drinks menu is also great Wouldn't attempt to go for a 1 on 1 romantic meal here as its your typical Turkish atmosphere That said its perfect for groups and small party's of people The only downside to this place is the slight delay on getting served drinks but knowing this just grab the attention of a staff member when you know your wanting a drink Food service is fast and it comes out tasting great and hot I gave a 9 out of 10 as service on drinks could be improved to make this 10 out of 10 and a restaurant to want to keep on returning time and time again

Ah loved this restaurant what a place to be in Eastbourne was me and my partner first vist here recommend by a lovely lady called sue who we met on the pier, what a great atmosphere and amazing food , I love a Turkish meze restaurant been to loads all over the country and this has to be one of my favourite in my top 5 definitely , friendly staff , lovely location really nice set up they have here and good prices aswell 10 out of ten from me highly recommend

First time visiting here and the food was amazing! The cocktails were creative and the service was excellent. Claire was our server and she was friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back again. Only thing that I would change is the music was a bit loud so hard to chat with people.

Great experience, good food and service, my go too when heading out of in Eastbourne and also do takeaway too which is always cooked to perfection, never greasy. chicken shish, Turkish bread and their homemade hummus with a frozen strawberry daiquiri is my go to but try a bit of everything if you can!

Superb food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Second visit to this place and the vegan dishes are super tasty. The staff are really nice and you can see they are all passionate about you having a nice time and enjoying what you have ordered. Great atmosphere and a nice touch with the DJ and music.

The staff here are absolutely lovely - the manager came and greeted us personally even though this was our first time here. We came for father’s day - the food was lovely, it came quickly and the facilities are well-decorated. Once again I must commend the service at this restaurant, truly lovely people. Had the loveliest lunch here! Food was gooorgeous and the staff were SO lovely! Mentioned that it was my God Daughters birthday in passing converstaion then just as we were about to leave they asked us to wait and then played Happy Birthday and brought out a YUMMY chocolate cake! Honestly you have to check them out! 5* rating all the way!

Stopped in for the lunch special and discovered a true gem! The incredibly fresh food was complimented perfectly by the wonderfully friendly service. Highly recommend!

Wonderful restaurant! Went to the Drag bottomless brunch. I've been on a few bottomless brunches and let me tell you it really is bottomless! Constantly topping your glass up to the point I had to cover my glass and say I'd had enough! Food was delicious, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was extremely fun! If you are in Eastbourne (I live here) please consider for a night out! Highly reccomend!

I visited on saturday evening with a group of friends and was served by the lovely Amber (I believe that is her name!) She was amazing, her service was the cherry on top of the cake giving us the most wonderful experience. Food was lovely, Drinks were lovely, Staff was lovely! Cannot complain 😊

I've worked in hospitality for many years. Really liked it here. Food was great - best kebab in Eastbourne by a mile. Open kitchen was cool to see and also spotlessly clean. Service was actually fun and great banter from the waiter. It was actually entertaining with all the birthday songs going on and the staff that actually wanted to be there. Great venue will go back again soon

We had a table for three and they managed to give us a choice, even though they were super busy. The food was all very good and the portions were excellent. We had the sharing platter for three people and everything was very well cooked, and the meat was of an excellent quality.

We went to celebrate my friends birthday and we had an amazing evening! Everyone was so nice and friendly, food was delicious and I will definitely return and recommend it to everyone ! Special thanks to Apu the waiter who looked after us during the evening! 10 out of 10! ♥️

Really amazing place. Service is really really good. We enjoyed the live music on Wednesday night. Food was great, cocktails that my girlfriend had looked great. Only thing I'll say is that it's slightly pricey

Angelina was a supurb host to us this evening.. She was funny, made us feel really welcome joked with us and made sure we had everything we needed all night. Great food and great service.

It was a spur of the moment booking. Staff very polite and attentive. Food tasted amazing. We weren't rushed to finish our dishes. Atmosphere brilliant. Music various artists and genre. Restaurant clean and tidy, toilets the same. Sidad and the team certainly know how to look after there guests. Keep up the good work 👏..

My first visit to Dem Shish, food was good, having visited Turkey a number of times and enjoyed the food I was loving the authentic tastes at Dem Shish. Cocktails were good, priced in line with local bars. Live music was good too! Were quite a few people eating mid week, would suggest reserving a table on a weekend.

I had dinner here last night as a group of three. The place was very lively with a DJ and lovely atmosphere, however they are not disabled friendly so we had to sit outside with my service dog. The food came promptly and we had their special which was a mixed grill for three. It was fantastic and more than enough for the three of us.

We came eastbourne for the first time yesterday. I searched for a halal venue and found this pretty place. From online, I could see it was nice, but I wasnt expecting the level of deliciousness of the food and the great music the venue had to offer. I ordered adana and rice and it was super. The DJ was playing all the great hits from early 2000s, which created a nostalgic vibe throughout the venue. The customer service was also great, everyone was friendly and smiley. Best turkish place we ate. Thanks for the hospitality you provided dem shish!

Very nice food, good service, but quite pricy. Average main course £15 including grill dishes. The menu doesn’t specify if rice, bread or chips are included. Photos below of lamb shank, lamb chops (4 for £16!) and Cajun type dish

Improved vastly throughout the years. With the weekday 20% discount, it's now very good. The charcoal grilled lamb chops are highly recommended. They were so good I had to order another portion!

So my lovely partner treated me to a lavish dinner at this place, the food was amazing, the service was a mixture of exceptable and amazing (it was valentine's day). The venue has been recently refurbished to a high standard. We had a shared starter plater followed by a plater for three(we had a left overs in a bag as we left). Overall highly recommend however for the two shared platers(which were huge portions) and about 8 barcardi and cokes and a mojito the bill with tip was about £80. Cracking night out to..

Went here on a friday night after being recommended by friends. Staff very amiable, lively atmosphere . We had the mixed cold mezze for starter and our server explained what each dish was, especially enjoyed the smoked potato dip and my partner demolished the smoked aubergine dip, although could have had a little more bread to go with it, as we ran out with about half of our dips left. We had the iskender kebabs for the main course, which were your choice of kebab in a tomato sauce with yoghurt on top and bread soaked in it, i had the adana (minced lamb) meat was beautifully cooked and had a lovely charcoal flavour, my partner had cubed lamb which was melt in the mouth tender. My only slight criticism was the tomato sauce was a little sharp, when combined with the yoghurt the dish was a little bit acidic, there was no salt on table to balance this. I would go for the adana on its own next time as the quality of the ingredients and cooking were top notch. House red was passable, would try a different one next time. All in all, great buzz to the place, lovely staff, good service, quality food.

Nice trendy place, staff very polite and attentive. DJ was good, nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and on time. Definitely come back again.

The hummus kavurma is so good here, and I loved their homemade baklava (definitely one of the best baklavas I’ve ever had). The portion sizes are decent. Questionable taste in music however.

Friendly restaurant with good food & atmosphere

Food was amazing. Music and ambience was poor. Playing kylie Minogue and cotton eye joe. Really not quite doing it for me considering you have unlimited playing. Maybe some chill out Turkish or cafe del mar style might have been a bit more appreciated.

I walked in with my friend at 12.30 for lunch. It seems to be a very fancy restroom, BUT there are so many bugs flying around, and unfortunately one of them flied INTO MY FOOD. The service lady says they cannot control the bugs flying around, making me kind of speechless. I am very concerned about the sanitizing condition of this restaurant, even if all the utensils are very clean.

It was a special event today, it was Valentine’s Day, we travelled all the way from London. The food was alright apart from the staff not paying attention to any of the customers requests. It was a big let down. We waited for each course about 45 mins each. It came down to the dessert which was not even fresh. So, we left it as it is and didn’t pay service charge as it was not deserved.
