It was so nice to go out to eat and INSIDE one of my favorite restaurants again. They have the high walled booths socially distanced safely. Food is still wonderful, as well as the service. Great place to sit, talk with friends and relax. Just like a neighborhood pub should be.

We have been going to McArdle's for several years and have NEVER had a bad meal! Food is always hot and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and attentive and John the owner always visits the tables. Friday nights are often very busy but it's always worth the wait.

This was our first time trying Mc Ardle's. We went in early on a Saturday night (5:30). I was happy we did because the crowd steadily grew, from that point till we left around 6:30, at which time parking would have been an issue if it weren't for the overflow parking they offer. Apparently, this is a popular place. We were seated quickly, and all the staff treated us well. Our server, Ashley was delightful, knew the menu well, and was able to answer our questions. Our food didn't arrive as quickly as one might expect from, say a Chili's, but this ain't Chili's. The quality is well worth the wait. I ordered the prime rib burger with fries; my wife had the cod cakes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. It's easy to ruin broccoli, but my wife's was done to perfection. Her cod reminded me of seafood I'd eaten while living on the gulf coast. Very tasty; perfect spices. She mentioned she liked the potatoes weren't over whipped. The burger and prime rib on my sandwich were also grilled exactly as I ordered. The spices they used on the Angus beef complimented one another well and none were overpowering. Even the horseradish. The atmosphere was nice and although the restaurant was crowded it was still quiet enough we could enjoy our conversation at a reasonable volume. Ashley checked in on us just enough we felt cared for but not bothered. We loved it here. We'll definitely be returning. Soon!

Great food and wonderful atmosphere! This is one of our go to restaurants for brunch or dinner with our family! The staff is friendly and the owner is very personable, our kids always look for him as soon as we walk in. They are doing a great job with takeout as well, so support them and get a great meal cooked by others!

We love the fish fry (Cod or Haddock!) and the steak and arugula salad plus the cobb salad is solid. The outside is nice in the summer and even when it gets a little cold out they have heaters so it works. The owner, John, is the 99% of the time to care care of anything you need! The waitstaff has all been there for several years and are fast and efficient!

This is where our family goes when we want to go out. We have been going here about once a week for the last 6 years. The food, staff, and service are wonderful. The menu has a bit of everything. Specials are always worth a look. The Sunday brunch is a great menu and very tasty!

Great place. Can’t believe I hadn’t tried it yet. I got a grilled veggie wrap that was loaded with nicely grilled fresh veggies. The fries are delicious also. My lunch date got a bacon cheeseburger that looked great and was reportedly just as tasty as it looked. I saw lots of delicious food go by. The potato skins look particularly good. Quesadillas also.

It's been a while but I went today, August 23rd, 2023 and let me tell you it was an incredible experience. I had the pot roast grilled cheese. You read that right! It was incredible. Great update to the menu and great service in person and with the robot.

The food was very good and the service was excellent. Make sure you check out the robotic delivery system. Pretty cool! They have a great selection of adult beverages. I had the barbecued beef over Mac n cheese. Excellent combination!!

I always enjoy great food and service at McArdle's. This is a nice place to go for any occasion. The french onion soup and crab chowder are great. You will not leave hungry. They have a very nice outdoor patio area as well. I recommend checking out McArdle's!

Food is always amazing. The owner John is very active with guests and super friendly. Every dish I have ordered has been amazing to the point I never get a doggy bag. If you haven't been here before it is a must to try at least once.

Prompt service, with a smile! They weren't pushy to take an order because they knew we were just talking and catching up on things. Then, when we did order, the food came out in perfect time! Everything was delicious! Would highly recommend it to anyone!

The food is always tasty delicious, and fresh. Nothing disappoints. The fish fry especially, so far, is my favorite. Once of the best I've had. Their sweet potato fries are actually crispy, and they never are anywhere. The portions are plenty, and the service is very pleasant, too.

Went to lunch here with a group of 8 on a Saturday. Service was great. I tried the Bourbon Bacon Burger. It was delicious! Upgraded the fries to onion rings and got a decent portion size. The rings were with every penny. The coffee was tasty and smooth. The prices are extremely fair for the quality of the food. I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

We have been their several times and the food is excellent. But the Chicken Riggies was the best I ever had. My wife said they were better than hers. If you get a chance get the chef Tom chicken french. And always get dessert

Had dinner with extended family Saturday. We had a great variety of things and everything was fantastic! The pot roast grilled cheese is a masterpiece. Followed up the meal with some homemade blueberry lemon cake that was to DIE for. Chef Tom was on point! Definitely returning.

I really enjoyed being there. I had the best French onion soup. Also had Quesadilla that was too much, so I took it home and ate it for dinner the next day. It was just as good as the night before. I will go back again!

Food is great, service great but my experience with their text promotion to gain points has been lack luster. I've gone a number of times giving my phone number and never received points. Last time I went the waitress checked and coukd not find the number. Go figure, never received a text that night either.

First time here. We like to support local restaurants and so glad we came here. The staff was wonderful, food was good, prices in line with other places Owner very nice, welcomed us, explained their loyalty program. Best part, tho, is the robot waiter they have delivering food and returning dirty dishes to the kitchen.

This has to be the friendliest restaurant in our area. The staff is really friendly and attentive and the owner always treats you like a best friend. Many good choices and the pub pretzel is a great start for a great meal.

This was our first time here and we loved it! The atmosphere was warm and cozy and sweetly decorated for Christmas. The food was surprisingly delicious (I got the veggie wrap with fries, my husband, the cottage pie and kids the “popcorn chicken”). We all really enjoyed our meals, but the best part was the service. Our waitress, Molly, was an absolute sweetheart. So kind and thoughtful toward our kids and super attentive. I enjoyed chatting with her and I’m so glad to see someone who takes their job seriously, does it VERY well, AND has a wonderful personality to boot! We will definitely return. :-)

My wife and I met with a couple of friends, who we have not seen in quite a while, for a leisurely lunch on August 4, 2023. What a delightful experience! Laura, our server, was extremely pleasant and accommodating! We were not rushed at all, which allowed us to catch up with our friends in a relaxed environment. The food was fabulous. I started with the Charleston Crab and Scallop Chowder, followed by the Irish Burger, cooked exactly to order, with the house chips. Others had the Hearty Chili, Shrimp Burger, Turkey Club Wrap, and Grilled Veggie Wrap. The fun added attraction was watching the robotic "servers" deliver food to the tables; very cool! There were some many items on the menu, and other specials that were offered, that sounded so good. We will be back!!!

By far the most delicious food I have ever had in my entire life! This may just be the last restaurant, my husband and I ever go to for the rest of our lives! You have got to try the pot roast grilled cheese absolutely to die for and the owner is amazing. The staff is sweet as pie! We enjoyed a lovely evening and dinner on the patio. Service was great, and the restaurant was immaculately clean! We started with the Cinnamon Apple Smash drink, which was very tasty. My husband had the Chicen Caeser wrap. He had to ask for extra caeser dressing because he said it tasted like they maybe had forgotten it. But the waitress brought some on the side right away, so no harm, no foul. I had the Bourbon Bacon Burger, which was very messy, but VERY delicious! Great evening, fantastic restaurant!!

They are now using a robot to bring your dinner to your table. As another couple mentioned, it felt like something from the Jetsons. Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently. A taste of comfort right here in Fairport. They have three soups on special right now. Nothing warms the bones better than a nice hearty soup in winter and the southwest chicken didn’t disappoint. The Irish burger is a mix of lamb and beef ground into the patty. The lamb adds a rich and fatty depth to the patty, I do wish there was a little acid on it to balance that. It was still tasty, with that cheddar. The staff was super friendly and communicative even when busy. Oh, important add, they have Haddock fish fry every day. On Friday they have cod and haddock options!

I wanted some comfort food and boy did I find the right place! I got the pot roast with mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli. The pot roast tastes amazing, the mashed potatoes are cooked perfectly and the broccoli had that steamed crunch that we all love. Sam was my server and she was very attentive as well as all the staff. If you're looking for a place that's going to take care of you like grandma used to, this is the place.

The food was great. The outdoor seating was very uncomfortable. So much so had to ask for indoor chairs to be brought out. Management should get some cushions. Service was very nice people with poor memory. Had to ask for everything twice. We appreciate the effort. They seemed fully staffed for a Wednesday night with full patio.

Portions were kind of small for the prices. My side of broccoli literally was 3 pieces. Not sure if they were short staffed but they didn't handle a large party very well. Kept forgetting drinks and refills. Entrees came out at all different times. All in all very accommodating for a 15 person party on short notice. Highly recommend the lobster bisque.

Good food, huge portions, overpriced appetizers. Great for taking your kids, as they have high chairs, booster seats, and coloring books for them! If you're going by yourself, the bar had only one tv without the sound on, so I might not recommend it if I was going by myself. But for the family? I already have my next meal in mind when I return.

Nice little restaurant. I didn't think there was anything stand out about it. I've been here few times, it's close to work and convenient. I usually get the Reuben and Arnold Palmer. It's got robot, that's kind of neat.

Great dinner with wonderful booth seating. My wife had the pot roast and I had the flat iron steak. Beef was tender and well seasoned. Our vegetable of the day included butternut squash and golden beets. Beautifully prepared with great flavor. Our server was friendly and knowledgable. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will be returning often.

We ate outside and the traffic noise was really awful. I had the shrimp taco special that had too many onions in the salsa ruining the taste. BUT there were 10 of us dining and most said the food was good. Everyone agreed on the traffic noise. Maybe better inside

Great lunch place! Everything on the menu is great, and they have specials daily. It's a little pricey for lunch, but "you get what you pay for" definitely applies. I highly recommend the salted caramel cake if they have it.

I've gone here a few times, working my way through the menu. All the food I've tried has been good so far. The only reason service and atmosphere did not get 5 stars is because I did have an experience where I went in and sat at the bar, there was another woman already sitting at the bar with her drink, and when the server came up, she started chatting with the woman who already had her drink. Up to this point, no one spoke to me, and after about 7 minutes, the server stopped her conversation and asked if someone had helped me already, I replied with a simple no and she assisted me with no issue after that. I do not know if this had anything to do with my interaction, but I am black, and this restaurant is in Fairport (a predominantly caucasian town). Sometimes, I am overlooked in areas like this because the culture has been trained to ignore and avoid people of color, which, to me, is not the same thing as intentional racism or bigotry.

Their food is excellent, & we so appreciate the polite & accommodating staff! The man who took our order also answered many questions about the menu. & when our order was missing one small thing (a soup), the woman who answered the phone was so patient with me when my toddler started making enough noise in the background that she couldn’t hear me, asking me to repeat myself so calmly each time even as I was getting frustrated. & when we picked up the missing soup they gave us a hot & fresh one…& a drink/desert ticket along with it for the trouble! What a wonderful locally owned business!

All of our meals came together at once. Server did not have to carry our meals 2 at time. This may explain a bit higher price, but still ok.

Had dinner and it was ok, menu items have changed from the last time I dined here, and personally not for the better. It wasn’t bad, but just was as good as what it once was. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken salad and the lettuce mix was a bagged mix that was starting to brown here and there. The dressing was heavily mustard based, which some might enjoy, personally I like balsamic heavy. The chicken was juicy and cooked well. The buffalo perogies were difficult to cut, and tasted like a frozen item they just deep fried, not what I was expecting, but I might have misread the menu description. I wouldn’t order them again. Service was interesting, asked the waitress for extra napkins, she grabs a stack and delivers them to the table past us. She also asked twice if we wanted coffee and dessert, in a way where it seemed as if she thought she was asking us for the first time. Over all, it was ok, the restaurant was clean, staff friendly, and food delivered in a timely manner. However, I’m not rushing back.

Very mixed experience. The Irish omelette tastes pretty great and the bangers taste pretty great. The potatoes were soft and not even a little bit crispy. Honestly they tasted boiled. The rye toast was thick and marbled which I enjoyed. It was hot as hell and our party was drenched in sweat. The sausage patties were huge and I could tell they weren't a hit with my group as no one ate them. Really weird experience.

Must have been an off night for McArdle's. Restaurant and Bar area were full and staffing appeared ample to handle it. App's that we ordered consisted of a brand new menu item (Mozzarella Sticks) that came with two (2) sticks and a small cup of marinara sauce for $12.00. We questioned the amount vs cost and were told it was a new item on the menu. Manager would not remove from our bill - we told waitress we'd never order it again. French onion soup was second app - tasty but not piping hot. Cost was appropriate. Entree's included chicken fingers which were very ample in size and had good flavor. The other entree's were a Haddock Fish Fry and a Cod Fish Fry. The Cod was a special on the menu and had a good flavor. The Haddock was not as good as previously enjoyed there. The root vegetable side was awesome and definitely a keeper. Serve staff was great as always. I give this visit a 3 at best purely on food. Disappointing as they usually hover in the 4.5-5 range. Will give them another shot after the holidays as we usually go there once every 4-5 weeks for dinner.

Went with wife and another couple. We ordered two prime ribs, french dip, and fish. With 2 alcohol drinks and 3 desserts. Price came to $250 with tip. My prime rib was rare, not medium as ordered and side dish was not quite cooked. Service was good, not $250 good but passable. The robot delivery was cute but was just novelty. Rather pay less for food that's hand delivered. The atmosphere was good but in no way worth the cost in my opinion.

Very disappointed today we brought 3 guests from out of town. We each ordered an entree but 4 took 45 minutes....and the 5th (mine) was evidently forgotten. Robot brought the 4 I asked server about mine. I then got my side salad. Then i ate salad and waited for my entre. It came as they finished. No explanation apology or no offer. I wolfed it down because we had an appt and had been there almost 75 minutes. Not worth it.

Very disappointed overall with the quality of food. The appetizers we all had were all good, but when the main dishes came out, my hamburger was burned beyond belief. I honestly couldn't see how the kitchen sent it out. Anyway, the manager refired it for me, but the carrots in the dish were completely raw. I didn't bother letting the staff know, as I had enough and just wanted to leave. The waitress was not that friendly, but the manger made up for her. I won't be going back here at all.

I’m sure some menu items are good. Service was very good. But shouldn’t a special be special. Description sounded good. Reality was disappointing. Burger with Feta, tomato and arugula with a side of fries. Burger was dry, 3 pieces of arugula, a tiny crumble of feta and a tomato sliced razor thin. We were seated outside which was breezy and noisy. A companion suggested I hang onto that tomato before it flew away. Small portion of fries also. I did ask for mustard and catsup up to moisten the burger. The special was decidedly unspecial.

We wanted to go to an Irish pub and the one we wanted to go to was over booked. We chose this since we had heard it was pretty good. Unfortunately, my beef tenderloin tips in gravy were supposed to be medium rare and I had to search to find any pink in any of the pieces. And the gravy was so salty I couldn't even finish it. And I love salt! The mashed potatoes were cold. The Guinness that I and my dinner mate ordered was stale and bitter. I couldn't even drink mine . I know I can compare that because I just had the most wonderful Guinness on tap four days prior in Utica at Five Points Pub. The fish fry, other than the cold mashed potatoes was good. The brownie dessert had a stiff and dry brownie. The Irish bread pudding came out as a lump that I think was muffin shaped and was very dry and we couldn't finish. And the "Irish" apple pie came out in a tiny thin dish and was significantly dry and overcooked. In addition, for an Irish pub they were playing either no music or classical music. Being that this is the week prior to St. Patrick's Day, I would have thought that they would "have their Irish on"! And they have these little robots to bring the food to us, which I'd seen at Disney world 20 years ago and was not impressed. I would have hoped they spent more time checking their Guinness tap to see that it's not drinkable and/or on making food that was more palatable. Overall, I was very disappointed. And the prices were quite high for the lack of quality of food.

Service and presentation were fine, but the food was just awful. Dry, over cooked, gristly prime rib. Same for the chicken French. Even the fries were terrible - soggy, apparently previously frozen, possibly microwaved at some point. How do you screw up fries? I've had worse, hence the two stars, but nothing here to recommend.

Expensive! Lobster bisque claims to contain chunks of lobster meat....all we found was imitation "seafood". Scoop of coleslaw with fish fry served in a plastic to go container. Better food elsewhere, especially for their prices! Used to be a good place.🤔😪
