Excellent local pub, great beer selection, love the new owners and the atmosphere. Open 7 days a week, unlike a pretty big chunk of Fairport eateries, so no wondering "if" I can grab a bite here. We're here all the time!

One of Rochesters gems. Always a great craft beer selection on tap. Supper solid regular menu however their specials are awesome and if they sound remotely good you'll be happy. Can't go wrong here.

Jenna was an awesome server. She makes awesome Arnold Palmer's. Never had to ask for a drink. The food is high quality. They have a regular menu and a rotating menu giving the option of trying something new. Thank you Jenna for great service.

Love this place! Such a nice, friendly and laid back atmosphere and the food is always great. If you like beer on tap, the bar is an embarrassment of riches week in and week out - ever cycling through a dozen or so new micro brew selections. Stop in and check it out - it is the best unassuming little hole in the wall you're going to find for miles around! In the summer they put the canopy over the front sidewalk to add an open air option if you like and since it is on a lightly traffic'd side street near the canal it's a very comfortable outdoor vibe. Probably sounds like I'm the owner, but far from it - just trying to share a local gem.

The big smile at the door said enough. Open dining area with quaint booths didn’t feel crowded at all. Stephanie, our server was terrific and knew the beer selection very well. Food came quick and was really good! I’m particular about beef sandwiches, the French Dip was juicy even without the Au Jus. The pretzel was a perfect crispy salty snack, but the takeaway really is the help and smiles. Fantastic work Donnelley’s. Thank you!

If you go here, get the grilled wings! Pick your flavor, but make sure you get them grilled! Donnelly’s has some of the best wings I’ve had. I enjoy coming here late at night, getting some food, and then going on a walk on the canal afterwards. Great food. Perfect location close to the canal. Chill atmosphere.

Fantastic service and food! Annie was our server. She let us sample the soup and beer. The side order of Tot’s is huge! The grilled chicken sandwich and 🦬 chicken were both terrific! Very fast service and the food is a must try if you’re in town for lunch or dinner.

Donnelly's is a classic Irish pub - friendly but low key, you can sit at the bar and chat or snag a table in the corner for privacy. The beer selection is excellent with a good rotation, and the food is also very good. This is my go-to place in Fairport!

Everything on the menu was amazing. We had a party of 17 outside. I don’t remember our waitresses name but she was very attentive and kind. The food was fresh and plentiful. They have a very good selection of IPA’s. We were all visiting from out of town and it was a perfect end to the weekend. Thank you!

A bustling little pub canalside. A crowd favorite for local residents and a great new place to check out if you are visiting or new in town. I have heard they have some great eats,(a hostess promptly offered to seat us) but, we did not order food. The bar was crowded, but not over crowded. Service was friendly, and quick. They have a nice outdoor patio with ample seating for food,drinks, and a view of the Erie Canal. My Corona with lime was the perfect end to my birthday. Enjoy!

The owner and the bartender were incredibly friendly and helpful... We were "those guys" and tried to sneak in just before the kitchen closed... They scrambled and got us all in and made us some tasty fried food. They even stopped to made small talk. 10/10 would recommend

Today was my first visit to DPH with a very large party of 13 people and the entire experience was absolutely unquestionably top notch! I have to first compliment our server because she was fantastic across the board with the huge order and then, props to the kitchen staff. I wish I went back to the kitchen to compliment them directly because it is extremely rare that an entire meal for 13 people can come out, perfectly timed, all warm and ready to eat all at once. That is an incredible feat and this entire staff @ DPH deserves nothing short of the highest praise out there. I will absolutely make this a regular spot now. Simply incredible.

This place holds a special place for me. It was where I met my husband for our first date. It's a great little place! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because of the fact I'm vegetarian and the options are okay but limited to a veggie burger, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, sides, nachos and salads. The salads all have meat and I usually order the Asian Chicken salad and remove the chicken. It's delicious! They don't charge less if you ask for the meat to be left off, though. Which is okay, I give it to others dining with me. That's a me issue. So, I won't blame them.

First time at Donnellys and we can’t wait to return! Ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was by far one of my favorites. My fiancé got the steak bomber and it was incredible! Best one he’s had. Great service and cozy atmosphere. Be back soon!

My go to local pub. Good beer selection and food that far surpasses the typical bar offerings... The daily specials are usually unique and fantastic. Best wings in Rochester on my opinion. Great staff and the owner is usually in house serving food, cleaning tables and talking with his guests.

I've been coming to Donnelly's since practically the day it opened years ago. The food is consistently fantastic, and the people are friendly. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I eat lunch here 2-3 times a week and dinner at least 1, sometimes more. The wings rock (get them hot and grilled). As a serious foodie (some might even say food snob) I cannot recommend this place enough. Yes it might be crowded sometimes, but that's just because people know good food and service when they see them.

Today was my first experience at Donnelly's and I have to say, they delivered. I ordered a simple build your own burger and the meat tasted great, it was cooked exactly how I asked for it to be cooked and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I will be returning again for sure and highly recommend checking this wonderful establishment out! I know I wasn't disappointed at all.

Love this place. Rich, Lindsey, Annie and the rest of the staff all make you feel welcome and at home. The food comes out quick and hot. They have different specials each week, which never disappoint, and their Friday fish fry is delicious. Just don’t wait too long to go, because it does sell out sometimes. The outside space is nice in the summertime! I highly recommend Donnelly’s and love supporting local businesses.

Great food, and the service was excellent. First time trying Donnelly's, but I'll definitely be back. The Ed Baronowski sandwich was fantastic if you're looking for something a little different. My buddy got a Cajun chicken sandwich, and we both tried the chowder. All very good. For family members, we picked up wings and the French dip, which were also excellent. The service was seamless, and our food arrived promptly. Highly recommended.

We were in Rochester on a trip from Kentucky and went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Our server was Danielle who was very sweet and made sure we had gotten what we needed. My family all said their food was good.

All I did was google lunch in Fairport and here it is ! Nice old building atmosphere good ,service good,food was excellent. Had a buffalo chicken salad couldn't eat it all and my sister had the tuna melt on sourdough a big sandwich and very fresh . First time here thought we would explore and I will go back to try again . Big menu and also homemade clam chowder was spot on perfect ! Sara serverd us such a nice lady. Im telling you it's good !

I always value the atmosphere of a place more highly than the food. I can get good food at home, but a gathering of people celebrating and enjoying themselves is one of life's bright spots. Always a fun place. This was my husband's first visit, and he loved it. We try to visit every time we are in the area. The food is good, and the beer and wine selections are good. All around, a pleasant dining experience. The server and other staff are pleasant, and we are never rushed.

I should rate this place more often, it’s just never popped up. I’ve been here at least 8-10x and have never had a bad experience. I was just before noon today, so kinda slow and quiet. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our food came in a timely fashion but Will (we think that is his name) apologized for it being delayed. In our opinion, it was in no way delayed. It was delicious and when we were finished, Will came up and offered us each a free ice cream on him because our food was so late. We protested but finally gave in and accepted a cup of cookie dough ice cream to share. It was also quite good. We all highly recommend you visit this establishment!

Popular, warm, neighborhood pub. Staff is so welcoming and friendly, everyone feels like an old friend here. It’s nice for families, couples, and groups. Extensive beers on tap and full bar with skilled bartenders. Good pub food with rotating specials. While I generally have simple tastes in adult beverages, the bar staff has demonstrated skill mixing more complicated cocktails, and depth of knowledge regarding the multitude of whiskeys and craft beers on offer.

What do you look for in a restaurant? Consistency. Donnelly's nails it every time. My go-to is Build Your Own Burger (don't forget the meat sauce). Chicken wings? Heck yes. With football season here, every sunday that has an afternoon game, they got 10 for 10 special - dine in only. They kill it with the salads too. Had a 10k race - i'm typically a creature of habit. But i decided to go crazy, and order a salad instead of my burger. The Taco salad - probably in my top 3. The service - amazing. Outside seating always available.

I had the beef bomber sandwich. The meat was soft and flavorful❗ The quantity was very large and came with a choice of sides. The bartender was very personable and attentive❗ Parking was plentiful, restrooms were clean. The price of the food and beer are reasonable. I had the Colonel Hopkins Vermont 32 IPA, which had the fruitiest hop scent out of all the IPA's I've ever tried! I asked the bartender where I was sitting, just out of curiosity what the alc/vol content was? I was NOT expecting her to go out of her way and bring it up on her tablet and gave it to me to read up on the beer. That was impressive and unexpected for anyone to care so much. SIMPLY OUTSTANDING SERVICE❗ This is a GO TO restaurant / pub without a doubt❗👍

Great local brew pub! Outstanding rotating selection of beers. Food is good solid bar food with some other fine entres available. Service is good. It can get quite crowded on weekend evenings so get their early for dinner if you have kids. Prices are average.

My first visit, probably won't be my last. Everyone's food was very good. Surroundings were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was perhaps slightly slow, but not very. Waitress was a bit too fast, accidentally taking away a dish still in active use, but she was paying attention, stopped, and apologized. Beats being ignored! Overall quite good.

They have a large covered outdoor sitting. I ordered a glass of Riesling and their beef brisket/egg/hash browns wrap special for $13.99. It was generously sized but a little dry. It came with a side of spicy ketchup. I enjoyed the side of tater tots. My husband had the Cuban sandwich for $13.99 and a glass of Blue Moon beer. He wanted a bottle, but they do not serve bottled beer. They have a huge selection of beer on tap. He said that he would also give his sandwich a 4-star.

My wife and I go here consistently. This is what a local pub is intended to be. Solid beer selection and excellent food. Try a mix of garlic parm and Cajun spicing on your wings and ask for them finished on the grill. Nothing short of outstanding! Scott is an involved owner and cares about customer service. This is a true gem in the village of Fairport.

Great beer selection. Taps rotate regularly. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the owner is often around to chat you up. In the summer, there is wonderful outdoor seating as well. The food is very good for pub food, and has some of the best wings in the city, and the specials are usually very good and it's easy to find something you'll like. On popular nights it can get very crowded and very loud.

Had the Ed. Roast beef with Brie and horsey sauce served with side of au jus. Sounded amazing. It tasted great. However, I seemed to miss some of the Brie flavor and it was a little lite in the horsey sauce. i like bold flavors and I like horse radish and should have asked for a side go horseradish and extra Brie. However, the sub roll was crispy outside and soft inside (delish) and roast beef was flavorful and tender. I would try it again with those changes. Beer selection was fantastic with something for everyone. Service was great.

Excellent food! Really enjoyed all the wing sauces we tried - garlic-parm (without buffalo sauce), Thai peanut, bourbon BBQ, and mild buffalo sauce. I got the French dip sandwich, which was outstanding. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the roll was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

My favorite place to visit in the village. They have great food and many drink options. Every food item I've ordered from here has been delicious! They have a nice patio area to enjoy in the warmer months, and stay busy year round because of their mouth-watering food! Along with the many drink options and great service have me giving this 4 stars. I'd love to give 5 stars but they get so busy and don't have space for waiting that the crowded feeling leaves me at 4.

This place warrants 5 stars but I reserve those for the best. Donnelly's is huge but cozy. They have delicious Guinness & the fish fry was better than average, but it's Rochester so comparing fish frys could fill a Robert Jordan book series. I'll recommend this place & definitely be back. Stopped in late for a meal. Had to wait a bit for server but finally came to table. I got the BLT. It was definitely a big sandwich but not happy that they used an end piece of the loaf for my sandwich, and there was a lot of B but not much LT, which would have made it taste more like a bacon sandwich. The prices were reasonable, too, and server ended up being mostly attentive throughout. Would I go back?

Had the special, which was a beef stew with mashed potatoes, and it was fantastic. However, 2 small but tender chips of beef are all it came with. Still, I highly recommend it. This is definitely a pub, not a place to go for great entree selections. Mostly sandwiches. 30+ beer selection and of course Irish whiskey.

Beer list is somewhat disappointing for me - Lots of variations on IPA’s , a number of lager types , but almost no ales , porters or stouts without a lot of adulterants that have nothing to do with real brewing . Also it can get pretty load and crowded at times hence 3 stars for atmosphere.

Cozy public house with 33 beers on tap, daily specials, and a big menu. I got the Buffalo garlic Parmesan wings, which were delicious. Company got the Rueben sandwich and the Don Cubano sandwich. Everyone enjoyed themselves and their food. Pretty quiet spot with a few patrons around late lunch time on a Friday. Good food, great atmosphere. Lower rating on the service as we had various ladies checking in on us so the service was a bit inconsistent - no one checked in after our food arrived. No one came by to see if we wanted more beer, did stop by eventually with a refill of our waters. but quiet time of day so not too surprised.

I wrote a good review for this place years ago, but it's gone now. I was going to add to it. Disappointed tonight. Beer was cold. That's good! Unfortunately so was the room, and the chili. Folks wearing winter coats, me included. The chili, it was like they forgot to turn on the heat under it. Chili was good, but it was lukewarm. Rest of the food was decent, but I got to thinking. They don't do anything particularly standout anymore. We went in because they had an interesting item on their specials menu. I saw it that afternoon. We get there and they've taken it off the menu. That's happened more than once. Bottom line, we're done with them for the winter. Too cold. We'll try them in the summer.

Fish fry was good and we came here a couple times and the kids meal comes with a drink but they didn’t say that the drink they asked for was extra. The last time they didn’t charge for the same drink. They also didn’t say choosing a different side was an up charge. This is poor customer service. They took one charge off but it should be discussed.

I want to start by saying that I have always had a great experience at Donnellys so please take this review with a grain of salt. My problem is that I have a person with nut allergies in my household. I placed an order of wings for 9 Thai peanut and 9 buffalo medium. The order was correct but they combined the two styles in one container with no separation between and mixed them together. I have placed this exact order before and they have always been separate so I didn’t think I needed to request special care. I mean who would think to mix those two different style wings together to begin with. The wings were great as always but we had to leave someone out from having them which is disappointing. I would hope that they take a little more care in the future.

service was good and liked the atmosphere. We had the fish fry and it was just not the best, overly breaded and greasy, fries not homemade and very small amount of coleslaw , no taste. They did give us a very large piece of fish, but with a very small container of tarter sauce, asked for a little more and charged an extra 1.50. Thinking other selections would be better.

People who came in after we ordered got served before us. Our $20 mac and cheese was very light on the specialty toppings, and the noodles had clearly been sitting under a warmer for some time. The outside seating is nice when the weather is nice. We ate on the first floor.

Our server, Sarah T, never checked on us ONCE after giving us our food. We tried getting her attention many times because she never gave us our curly fries (which we specifically said we wanted as an appetizer), but it was impossible because it seemed like she was actively avoiding us..? She never made eye contact, always rushed by our table without even looking over at us…so after 10 minutes of trying, we finally decided we didn’t even want the fries anymore. What’s the point of having a waitress if they don’t check on you, not even once? You’re not gonna make any tips if you call that “waitressing.” She also never brought us waters, and my portobello burger was burned on the bottom.

Used to eat here a lot. Went there the other night for a family dinner. Service was great, however the quality of food has gone downhill. Their quesadilla used to be out of this world; alas, this go-around it smelled too weird for my niece to consume, and was not edible for any adults either.

Went here for dinner tonight with my fiancé and it was decent/okay at best. Ordered the buffalo garlic boneless wings for an appetizer and they basically were just covered in got sauce. For dinner I ordered a burger and she ordered the buffalo chicken salad (mild). My burger was okay but not great. I can tell they used a basic frozen patty because it tasted like it. I have had burgers at other pub places before and they were a lot better than this place. My fiancé’s buffalo chicken salad was ordered as mild, but was much hotter than she would have liked. Also, looking at my receipt, I noticed an up-charge for fries and gravy that the waiter never mentioned which was definitely not cool. Overall the food was decent, but we definitely wouldn’t come here again. There was actually a pizza place next door called TK’s and I saw they had great reviews. Will definitely try that next time. Also, there is a public parking lot adjacent to the building.

Food was great! Our waiter (not sure of his name but was wearing a bright green polo) came right up after we were sat with two glasses of water and said he would be right with us. Then he came over awhile later and asked us what we wanted for dinner (did not ask for our drink order).. I would have ordered my drink there but figured he would come around shortly to check in and I could order then. HE DID NOT CHECK IN AT ALL, THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE. I had to order my drink when the food came out (a different server wearing a black polo) he kindly asked if there was anything else and I told him the soda. he comes back very quickly with the drink. Then we realize we had NO Napkins or silverware. I had to ask a waitress walking by for napkins, she was very pleasant and nice. Then we sat for 15 minutes after we were clearly done eating, before the green polo shirt waiter came back. Meanwhile, I heard him ask other tables if everything was good, need anything else, etc. Then he proceeded to stand in the corner talking with the other waiter watching the game before coming over to have us pay and give us a box. I understand the pandemic has effected multiple things, short staffing, so on.. I'm not complaining about the wait, I just wanted a little more service after a long day.

I was here today on my birthday and ordered The Ed B sandwich. The beef was green and iridescent; and the sandwich was cold. I had 2 bites. When the waitress came back I mentioned it. She took the plate to the kitchen and said no worries I'll take it off the bill. She came back without the plate/sandwich, but then told us the beef was fine and the kitchen said they couldn't take it off the bill because there was no issue with how it was cooked. They brought the check out... with the meal not comped. Literally charged us for a sandwich we didn't even get. No offer to make a different dish or anything. I could have at least had the side of coleslaw for $15. Even when we asked about them taking off the meal, she said the kitchen didn't authorize them taking it off because there was no problem with the food. Umm... you can't charge people for food they don't even have. What a fun birthday. Will never be back.
