Since pappas took over the food is so much better. I don't care that my bar stool is ripped. Alex was great and they had Gran Mariner to top my rita. This food was awesome and 16 bucks for my entree. Get it OTB!!
Excellent food & Service! Salsa and chips have changed, but I still enjoyed them. Ordered the fajitas and they were perfectly cooked.
The food was great and love the atmosphere. Angelina was attentive and made sure we were taking care of.
The food was wonderful, and services were simultaneously great, our main host/server Ariana was outstanding! How do you recommend coming by trying the food and making sure you get Ariana is server once again she made this entire expense really great at terrible expenses before! I recommend
I came to On The Border recently and was lucky to have Aleena as my server. She was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. Our drinks were always full, the food came out just right.
I had such a great experience at On The Border on Bryant Irvin! Our server, Aleena, was amazing — super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. You can tell she really cares about her customers. Definitely ask for Aleena if you stop by — she’ll take great care of you!
All the food was fresh, made from scratch. My daughter and I ordered combo fajitas with steak and shrimp. Under new management. Thanks William (our server) and Fred (the chef). We enjoyed our time.
Don't go if you don't want to be disappointed. Core menu items they shouldn't have been touched are altered. Chips are flavorless and thin and the queso/salsa are inedible now. Absolutely gross. We ordered sour cream and cheese enchiladas. Neither now have jalapeño as a garnish and neither entree tasted good. The rice is oddly flavored as are the refried beans. We will NOT ne back and have unsubscribed from emails and deleted the app. Horribly disappointed that a restaurant that we treated ourselves to is now disgusting.
We took my niece out for her 16th birthday dinner. The food really great and the staff were very attentive. Great time
I’ll admit, I wasn’t too eager to visit On The Border at first because of some things I’d heard from others, but we ended up coming here last minute — and I’m so glad we did. Our waitress, Aleena, was absolutely wonderful. She made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us consistently, and was attentive without being overbearing. Her friendly attitude and excellent service truly made our dining experience enjoyable. We will be back!!
It’s honestly been a very long time since I’ve been to On the Border but decided to stop in recently and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic, service was great I’ve been in 3 times since, consistent experience each time. Alina and Valerie are great servers!! They have nice perks for rewards members. Glad I gave them a chance!
We are here Sunday night. Our server was attentive. The margaritas were wonderful. The food came out hot and fast. I’m writing the review because of how impressed I was with the Manager Tiffany. She’s so friendly and professional. I swear she talked to every table and was carrying trays of food and dirty dishes! Pretty impressive. Thanks for dinner. ( and drinks!)
The service and food was great, our waiter was awesome and very attentive, the host however was rude and acted like she didn't like her job, she's the skinny one with all the bronzer, she and a few other workers were sitting at a table drinking while the manager was conducting interviews across in the next table. She shouldn't talk about her butt cheeks in a restaurant or anywhere in public, no way in hell would I ever think about working there when the manager is making eyes to other employees about the person I'm interviewing in front of the person being interviewed. But the food and service was great lol.
Wow!! Just had the beef and chicken fajitas. If you have not tried them in a while, I highly recommend doing so. Best around!! They have a special running on Wednesdays after 4. You can thank me late…

Great waiter: Andon. The place was clean. My food: shrimp bowl was delicious and large enough to have leftovers. My husband ordered a large burrito which he enjoyed with peach tea.
Second visit to this location. Service was good, food was tasty and the salsa was really good. ambiance is not to loud and pleasant. I look forward to coming back again.
Boy the services and food was perfect. The place was very clean and food was fresh an hot. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Two thumbs up. It was so good I came back the next day.

Since Pappasitoes has taken over, the food is soo much better. 5 stars to that. I understand that policies change, but for me at 70 years old to be asked to show my I.d. to get a frozen margaritas, I felt was a bit overboard. Please train your servers to KINDLY explain that procedures have changed soon that they don't come across in a offensive way as the waitress did to me today. BLONDE WITH GLASSES. Thank you to the mail server that took her place. He did a EXCELLENT job and deserved our generous tip !
They have reconfigured, owned by Pappasito's. Food has improved. Combination fajitas with shrimp, beef, chicken, pork and vegetables was very good and plentiful for 2.
Today I come to on the border The service was great like always but this is the first time in a restaurant that a customer tells us we can't sit at the bar there was three empty seats so we sat behind the elder he kept on looking back giving me dirty looks over and over the whole time. Did not appreciate that as a customer. Thank God I'm a nice person but he was very disrespectful

Poor service for our last visit. Steamed at the patio and got our drinks ordered but no one ever came back. When we asked they had "forgotten us". We left after that.
While Brandon is AMAZING GREAT BARTENDER DRINKS WERE SUPERB THE QUESO IS STILL GREAT. BUT THE NEW CHIPS AND SALSA IS MISSING THE MARK NO CHILI RELLENO AND THE MENU SEEMS TO BE LACKING. WE ARE REGULARS BUT HAVENT BEEN IN AWHILE AND NOT SURE WHEN WE WILL BE BACK. AND BEFORE U RESPOND WE GET IT HEALTHIER CHOICES BUT NOW UR FOOD SUCKS TBH CAN PAY LESS OR MORE AND GET THE QUALITY WE WANT WITH OUR $
We were disappointed woth the service. We ordered $147 worth of food for pickup last night. My son picked it up on his way over. The restaurant is about 15 minutes from our house. When he unpacked it, he realized they forgot the queso. He had to go all the way back to get it. Not only did they not appologize or do anything to make up for it, but the queso that was $10 was just a tiny cup.
We nearly walked out after sitting for 10 minutes without service other than being seated. But once Angelina our server finally arrived she informed us that the host stand never told her we were there. We watched the host stand that 10 minutes and I kinda believe her since they were just standing around talking amongst themselves, occasionally looking our direction and laughing. Not sure if it is a common practice for this location, or a group bullying towards an individual, but very classless. But Angelina was the savior of the situation. Polite, professional, patient, and friendly. She answered all of our questions and even made suggestions. She was spot on with refills and food service itself was quick. She is the ONLY reason I'm not giving a 1 star, but unfortunately her 5 plus the rest of staff 1 only equals 3
Food was very good. We each had cheese Chile relleno with an enchilada. The black beans were well spiced. I had regular rice, wife had cilantro lime rice which she enjoyed. When we arrived there …
It feels like they have made a number of changes to the On the Border brand at some point recently. The first thing I noticed is the menu has been gutted and there are fewer items to choose from. Then I got my food and it was awful. Not awful from being cooked badly or prepared wrong, but was changes to the recipes of just about everything. I ate On the Border a lot over the years and this isn't the same food that I am used to getting. It looks the same on the outside, but the whole vibe is totally different. Even the music being played was different. It has changed so much that I don't know if I would go back. The food was pretty consistent for years but if this is what they're doing now, then I don't want it. I won't be completely negative and I will say the staff was very friendly and I got good service, so it's not something the staff here could have improved on. They're doing their part well. It's a big change in the food and presentation that left me disappointed
So..food was bland and the use to be "zingy" salsa w a slight kick, which I loved was sweet w zero zing or kick. And the queso? Melted cheese in a bowl. Extremely disappointed in them. IF we go back, it won't b for quite some x.😞
Management is a joke, dont know how to treat customers. Was a regular that sat in the bar area. Walked in tonight treated like we were sneaking into the back door of a concert. Was told we would need to wait 15 min meanwhile the bar had plenty of seating. Lady was projectile vommeting all over the place. What a horrible experience.
Our server was nice and that that's about the only positive. They were not busy and yet we (party of 3) waited for almost 40 minutes for our food. When it finally came out the order was wrong and t…

Me and my whole family (6 of us) came here for lunch after an important medical procedure and I was starving. The first thing we noticed was our waiter was not friendly at all and acted inconvenienced by us. Super awkward and uncomfortable. I hadn't ate normal in days and couldn't even eat regular food the whole day before. All I wanted was to eat some mexican food finally after diet restriction for several days. But I felt instant regret coming here. I did tell my family maybe we should just pay for the drinks and go somewhere else and cut our losses. However my family is too nice to do something like this but had I been alone dining I would have for sure. The food isnt cheap and I couldn't believe we were about to pay that much for this type of service. I have never felt this uncomfortable before from a waiter. It felt wrong to even ask him for anything such as tortillas or chips. We started with 3 salsas and they never brought more. But we didn't want to ask because this guys attitude made us uneasy. The manager somehow came over and made things even more awkward by saying "I heard y'all had a problem" I don't know if the waiter or someone overheard us. My family is too nice to say anything. I would have maybe told the manager something but didn't wanna say this in front of waiter since he already seemed angry. I just wishing I could have predicted this before my parents wasted well over $100. Will NEVER come back here again and waste mine or anyone's hard earned money. This economy is already bad and this experience really upset me and made a hard day at the surgical center all morning even worse. This guy acted like he didn't wanna work there or be a waiter and maybe he shouldn't. I know working isn't fun but why be a waiter!? He made a bad day for me even worse but I was too weak to say too much. Really ruined it for me. I used to love coming here. Have many times with my mom and sister for mother's day. Such a dang shame. I'm sure my family tipped him well too just because of obligation but he didn't deserve anything. Don't waste your money here and if your waiter is the older tall guy with glasses good luck.
Worst service I have ever had at OTB. I sat at the bar and the bartenders rarely looked up to see what was going on, and definitely not to check on anybody. There was a group of 3 people that were there for about 5-10 minutes before anyone ever acknowledged them. Another couple waited 15 minutes with no acknowledgement before I called out to one of the bartenders, who had not ever come back to check on me, and told her that I needed to cash out AFETR she went and served that couple. She said she was sorry but they had her and the other bartender serving “ALL” of these tables (as she motions to all of the tables in the bar area and the people at the bar. Yeah! It’s your job. And this is Wednesday, so good luck on Friday. They also had the manager helping them out. Still no follow up. I am a nurse at a county hospital so I will gladly swap for a day and let’s see who’s still standing. Pitiful. OTB used to be “the place” and now I see why it isn’t anymore. Sad. Avoid this restaurant.
They have just gone down hill and it’s really upsetting because they used to be my favorite place, we ordered to go last night and I got the burrito it’s been awhile since I had it but it was always a favorite because it was very big burrito, last night we get home and I open my box and this burrito is so small the tortilla was hard and the meat was very hard to chew, the rest of the food wasn’t much better, the queso was very thick and cold and in such a small container for $9 compared to what they give you when you dine in. My partner’s meal he said it was okay but when we ordered online it didn’t give us the option of customizing his so it had some sauce on it he wouldn’t have taken off if he could. In the end I took all the stuff out of my burrito and ate some of it before throwing it all away. As much as I wanted to complain and get a refund or remade or something we were just so exhausted after our day that it wasn’t worth having to drive back up there. I really hope they can start doing better for those who take it to go.
EXTREMELY disappointed with the food after Pappas Restaurants took over. The chips and salsa was always beloved and now they have changed it to this hot and uninspired slop. The chips are too thin and just disintegrate at the slightest touch. The queso seems so much more fake and tasteless. This restaurant and staff are wonderful, but the change in menu has led my family and friends from going to OTB ever again.
I used to love coming to OTB, I would get so excited. I am sorry to say I will not be coming back, our service was great, but they changed the menu and ingredients, the salsa is not the same it’s watery warm and tastes like pepper. No chile relleno’s no guacamole live. The queso is garbage the guacamole tastes store bought. I think if you’re going to change the ingredients and menu you should just change the name. I was heart broken today!! 🥺🥺
Wow, this used to be one of my favorites for texmex. The food is bland and boring now. Every single item I ordered has gone down in quality and flavor, chips, salsa, queso, the sampler, the soup...it's all clearly different ingredients. The salsa isn't remotely spicy, the chicken is flavorless, the taquitos taste frozen, the chips are thin and brittle, the queso tasted like Velveeta. So long OTB, it was fun while it lasted.
I cannot believe how much money we wasted at this "Tex Mex" restaurant in Fort Worth. The outdoor seating area floors weren't clean as there were smashed french fries on the floor at the adjacent table. But let's talk about dinner itself First, the waiters switched on us in the middle of their dinner service. Second, the wait time on the food was abnormally high, perhaps you should hire another cook? Finally, not only was the food flavorless, but they skimped out and literally served 7 shrimp on a bed of onions (see picture). I do NOT recommend this place. On The Border? Please your name should be changed to On The Brink....thank me later
On the boarder has normally been one of my favorite restaurants. Although, I went this past weekend and found many things have changed. The salsa is now served warm and had very little flavor. Its very watery and tastes like ground black pepper, the queso is completely different. I would say the texture compares to a liquid glue. Flavor was not impressive. I always get the Birria tacos, when I had them during this last visit, those had changed as well. Flavor was very plain. The ingredients were very limited. I just had beef and cheese and a few onions in my taco. That was also all I could taste. Beef and onion. Rice and beans have changed as well. All together, I was no impressed and am afraid that this is the new normal, since being bought by another restaurant company. My issue with this, is if the restaurant is still going to hold its old name "on the boarder", it should hold onto its flavors and recipes. The people who go to on the boarder, go for what it is known for. I also need to add when we visited, the restaurant was practically empty, maybe one other table and some of the bar was occupied. It took forever for our food to come out, and when it did finally start to come out, there were large time gaps between our group getting their food. We had a group of 10, 7 of them had already been halfway through their plates before the last 3 received their plates and everything to go with it. The food was only warm.

On The Border: Fort Worth's Fajita Comeback Story
Remember On The Border? For many of us in Fort Worth, it’s been a familiar name, maybe even a casual stop years ago. But if it’s fallen off your radar, it’s truly time to give it another look. Word on the street, backed by some enthusiastic locals, is that things have changed, and decidedly for the better.Seriously, the buzz is all about the fajitas.
