I mostly do takeout here, say about 99% of the time. For me its always good I don't like crowd so I don't normally Dine in, if you are close to Glen Cove you should try this Diner🤗

Our server Andrew was phenomenal. I started off with a classic order of mozzarella sticks, followed by an entree comprised of delightfully breaded chicken strips with a basket of fries. The sticks were topped with fine artisan Parmesan cheese- a masterful touch on a classic app! On recommendation from our server, I finished off my meal with the French toast bites. Andrew could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Great experience due to great service! Will be returning for ANDREW!

I just love the food at this diner. But, today I was reminded of what makes them so special. It's the people who work there. You ever chat with the employees. They really care about their customers. So much so that one day they saw me standing, I was waiting for someone and didn't want to take up a table or stool from a paying customer. The hostess told me not to concern myself and she focused on my comfort and didn't pressure me to order. But, only asked once if I wanted coffee. But, gave me small conversations while I waited and she serviced and sat customers. This was not necessary and I did not want her to feel obligated. But, again, she said, no worries. Glen Cove Diner, a hidden gem. It sits up on a slight hill behind CVS, Doller Tree, McDonald's and a cluster of other stores.

First time to this place, I came when it was dead empty but the service was great, the food was good for the diner and I might be nitpicking when I say this but I got a well done burger and it was just a tiny bit dry and it killed my appetite halfway through but I took it home and ate the rest (the Glen cove burger) But don't let that sway you, it was probably just a one off thing and the food was still great regardless I would come back and try the other food options if I find myself in the area again

This was recommended by my brother and sister in law who were in town from NC. They raved about the rum punch, and I must say, the food is delicious, and the portions are huge. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and to top it off, they brought me a slice of cake to celebrate my birthday lunch. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful diner! It's tucked away from a main street view but is a very nice diner. Great seating and pretty views from the window booths (because of pretty flowers). The cinnamon bun pancakes were so good. So good! My husband liked his omelet and the kids devoured the chocolate chip pancakes. Definitely kid friendly. We had fantastic service. We appreciated the military discount. Overall we were so glad we stopped here!

Well for 1. I had no clue this place even existed, the location is holy hell I think incredible. away... from everything around it it’s almost like a hidden hide away😌. I came here with my family. My grandma lives over here. I definitely couldn’t be more impressed with a diner or any sort of restaurant for that matter. The Glen cove diner was magnificent we had such an incredible experience and the food was absolutely delicious. But what makes such experience even better is when you come across insanely awesome people who work there. The crew you have here definitely 10/10. Very good diner in the heart of Glen Cove, plenty of space inside and plenty of parking outside, food was priced right with plenty of options to choose from on the menu. Quick seating even on weekends and good customer service, food was hot off the grill as it should be and beverages were on point. Overall a very good diner, would dine again.

I've decided to change my review since the last two times we've been here because the food is great. I don't know if they have a new chef but something has definitely changed. My hubby had a bacon cheeseburger deluxe with perfect french fries and an awesome side of onion rings. He said that it's was one of the best burgers he's had since we've been to Peter Luger's. I was shocked. So, since it's been consistently really good is why I'm changing my review. The service is also great. They treat you like family, which is nice.

I just finished my UberEATS order from here. Yo y'all cooks are good. Had the steak and eggs ,really enjoyed it. Only note is if you can add an option to add cheese to the eggs. But honestly it didn't need it. Good stuff.

This diner is hands down me and my Dads favorite place , we are there almost every week . The service is amazing , the waitresses are always so nice and welcoming whenever we go there and the food is AMAZING . Sometimes I order a quesadilla that’s not on the menu and the chef makes it perfect every time . It’s such a warm and positive environment for those days you don’t feel like cooking and get to sit down and enjoy an amazing meal there . I can’t stress enough how good this place is , very affordable as well 1000/10 recommend!!!

Came to GC Diner with a party of 5 adults plus an infant mid day on a recent Wednesday based on niece's recommendationwho lives in area and met us there, her "go to" place any time of day. We were welcomed by smiling hostess who offered us various seating arrangements as we settled in an oversized booth that came in several sizes in a clean well lit space---nice feature. Lovely Waitress Kayla was personable, patient, flexible, informative and caring when explaining menu, sensitive to special dietary needs & questions and generally attuned to our needs,i.e, circling back several times for coffee & water refills and Kayla's awareness with a 'right now' promptness in facilitating seating for an infant enabling our group to settle in quickly, relax and get started toward meal. Later Kayla graciously took pictures of our group posing with the baby. Food & service was as promised even exceeding expectations :superior and delicious served hot, cooked to order, delicious!! My juicy, savory burger & bun with all fixins the size of a frisbee and took 2 hands to grasp was among the best I ever ate and better than any restaurant or burger joint on Long Island---EXCELLENT value for that inexpensive price. Uniquely prepared superb french fries cooked to perfection & hot arrived on my platter tucked into a container kept separate from burger, a nice little added, unexpected detail worth noting and appreciated. We had cold salads too. And wraps, no complaints on portion size, zero complaints whatsoever, beginning to end. Everyone praised the food & kitchens' efforts in presentation, the impeccable service, attentiveness & hospitality making for a very gratifying dining experience indeed! My niece fortunately for us was spot on in her recommendation ; we plan many happy returns, and, in turn we highly recommend Glen Cove Diner to all reading this review.

I don't normally give 5 stars on everything but this place "takes the cake", I mean literally. I ordered a spinach feta cheese omelette that wasn't even on their menu and they made it for me👍. I added home fries and rye toast. Instead I got "kibbles and bits" on the potatoes and marble rye. I don't want to site the potatoes as significant but to be honest I was expecting chunks of potatoes as if it was cut fresh. As bits it looked like it came out of a bag. My friend had a club sandwich and fries that looked spectacular. It was so good and big from the picture enclosed he couldn't finish it. Let me add the attention to the coffee service. The waiters didn't stop on the refills and it was constant, Thank You👍 The Diner inside is quite airy, modern with up-to-date furniture and lighting. The natural light coming through all those large windows worked well also with the ambience of the place. The Diner has 2 bathrooms co-ed, both with modern amenities and CLEAN. Parking lot is large with two entry ways, one from Glen Street the other from Pearsal Avenue. That right there should tell you something? If you past one entry way on deciding whether or not to eat here? You'd still have a second chance at their other entry location... 😆 LOL *STOP BY FOR A BITE and tell them the Guru sent you. Glen Cove Diner has definitely become our go to place. We really do enjoy their fried mozzarella, with an extra sprinkling of cheese on top. Their French toast was fluffy, thick and delicious. And their Cuban breakfast is always on point. The food has yet to disappoint. Side note: the service has been good for the most part. One visit, service wasn’t that great. It is what it is. But usually service is just as great as the food.

The Hollandaise sauce was delicious and the Monte Cristo was divine! If we ever make it back to Glen Cove, we’re going to stop in again. Really enjoyed our food!

Love the food options at the diner! Everything we ordered came out hot and fresh! My roast beef wrap was delicious, although there was a lot of juices that came out of the wrap itself, it was very flavorful! The fries and gravy is my late uncle’s favorite snack at this diner and we paid homage to him this week by ordering the poutine for everyone at the table! Glen Cove Diner is a great place to grab a quick bite and we hope to stop by again soon!

We came for Father's day weekend, thankfully it wasn't too busy when we arrived for late breakfast. We definitely saw so many things on the menu that we wanted to try but we stuck with 2 orders of classic grilled cheese, silver dollar pancakes and corn beef,hash browns and eggs. The food was great and the service was great overall. I would definitely come back again soon.

Very good diner food I only had an omelet but it was an egg white omelet with spinach and feta and it was Bountiful. Service was impeccable received our food very quickly can't say enough about this typical Diner experience because it was Top Notch.

Warm, cosy, friendly LI classic diner nestled on the side of a Glen Cove hill. Burger & bacon was mighty and fresh. Loved the fries topped with melted cheddar! Nice to have the option of a small greek salad. Go past the sideways shopping center up to the diner's lot.

Went here for breakfast after Mass. Hadn't been here for a while, but heard that they had changed ownership. We were seated quickly. The food and the service were both good this time. We will return.

This place wasn't busy when I went in. More people showed up, but the staff was efficient and attentive. It was a good experience overall.

So I just left the Diner. Our meal was good soup to nuts. Everyone was satisfied and the service was fine. What bugged me however was that I was charged 3% extra on my bill for using a credit card. I find this tacky and underhanded since no one mentioned this and after receiving my bill and calculating the tip and surrendering my credit card the anount changed. When I got the check back to sign it was a different amount than when it was presented initially. I was in business for over 20 yrs. i know it is difficult in todays day and age but credit card fees are part of the cost of doing business. It is unfair to me and discriminatory to me that as a credit card user I should be priced differently or punished for my form of payment. I will most likely not frequent this establishment again because of this policy. If you need to raise prices I understand but sneaking fees onto a family of four that drops over a hundred bucks isn't the answer. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

We moved to Glen Cove in September 2015 and were pleased to find a diner where we enjoy the food, service and cleanliness. We usually eat here Saturday or Sunday mornings. This morning I tried their challah French toast and my husband had chocolate chip pancakes. We usually never eat such a decadent breakfast but everything was delicious and such a treat! When we looked at the check I was surprised to see that my tea was $2.40 but my husbands coffee was $2.10. We thought it was an error but was told my tea was more because I asked for honey. I received little Kraft packets of honey which I am NEVER charged extra for at ANY other diner or restaurant. I think this is so petty. Are you going to charge for milk, sugar or Sweet n' Low for the coffee? Maybe next it will be ketchup or mustard! I suggest that you reconsider this ridiculous policy. Let me know if you do as we will be glad to return.

This is our go to breakfast place we eat here about once a week. Great hash browns they offer coffee multiple times and the eggs benedict and spinach Florentine is amazing. Also recommend the matzo ball soup and Disco Fries. Glad there's a great little diner close by.

Went there wih my family to celebrate a graduation. We were a party of five and it was a tight squeeze in the booth we were seated. Our server was really nice and helpful. The food was great, I loved the grilled chicken pesto and their strawberry lemonade.

we went on July 4th just finding a place open is a miracle when so many are closed. It was a lucky day to find it. The food is very good we had the buffalo burger and soup all was excellent . service was fast too.

Ordered the classic American burger with the works,L,T,O it came with fries and a beverage no complaints about the food. The BILL however was way over priceEd. $16.00 for a burger. Foods good, prices are really high. A Cesar salad is just shy of $19.00. If your looking for entrees, you can go to an upscale restaurant for the same price.

My family went there after my nephew's basketball game. I have to say that was the worst turkey club I ever had. Nothing to it. Maybe I should've asked them to toast the bread..? The matzo ball soup was tasty though.

The most expensive diner or even RESTAURANT I've ever been to! We SPLIT one grilled cheese with bacon sandwich and ONE SODA= 19.00 PLUS A TIP!!! Yes , it came with French fries and tiny coleslaw. So that's one sandwich and a soda for over $22.00. It was good, sure.But grilled cheese and bacon is good everywhere!

Let me preface with I’ve been coming here over a decade and breakfast service used to be great I’m not so sure what happened. Never had an issue any other time of the day really. But anyways it’s little off putting when your waitress says the coffee is still brewing it’ll be a few and then someone else 5 mins later walks by with an entire pot and other people are being served theirs who came in after us. My spouse didn’t get his coffee until a few mins before our food came out. We ended up asking different waitress for the cup of coffee and she came back within seconds. Our actual waitress never mentioned a word about the coffee not even when she came back with the food. Had we not brought it to someone else’s attention I'm not even sure we would’ve gotten it lol. I saw another review mention almost word for word the same thing happened to them so not just us. Also who seasons home fries with oregano? It overpowered my entire plate and I ended up just picking around my omelette which wasn’t exactly cheap. With a lot of places the food is only as good as it’s service and was left a bit disappointed today.

The food is not as impressive as the atmosphere and service. They should consider hiring a new chef and updating the menu to spark customer interest.

I try places 3 times before I count them out. This place is definitely out. Food is mediocre at best. Even their burgers are just edible and come with absolutely nothing unless u get the deluxe for an extra $2.50 which literally consists of a slice of tomato ONE piece of lettuce and a handful of boring fries. Lol. Prices are insanely high. The service is not very good at all. The owner sits at the very small bar area and complains about everything. I have not had anything there that I can't get anywhere else for a better price. There are many restaurants in Glen cove that are better priced and have high quality dishes. I think they should rethink their plan. But people will always go regardless.

Unfortunately I have had to change my review from 5 stars to 2. The food here is so inconsistent with its quality. One day you get exactly what you want how you asked for it. The next time its completely wrong, and undercooked and not even edible. Not sure how many different cooks they use but atleast one of them has no idea how to make basic food like French fries, pancakes, grilled cheese or burgers. Those are just some of the things I've personally ordered and how i asked for them to be cooked was completely ignored more than just a few times. You ask for very well done and your food is so undercooked it isnt even edible. It's really a shame because when they make the food right its a pleasure eating here.

The only diner in NY state that does not have bagels? No lemonade because the machine is broken? Asked for milk for our coffee and had to ask 3 times. She took our order then disappeared. Went to get lunch, there was food stuck on my girlfriend’s water glass and an eyelash on the side of one of her fries (which were in a tray keeping them straight up, so unlikely it was hers) my burger was expensive compared to other local businesses and wasn’t even as good, and our fries were horrible. Would not go back.

Diner was completely empty with only one other customer. Ordered bacon cheeseburger with cheese. Received no bacon but paid extra for it. Was deluxe with fries. The fries were only 6 to 7 small fries. Asked for tea with lemon and got plain tea no lemon. Staff seemed preoccupied on their phones though there were no customers. Food wasn't terrible but for such an expensive breakfast it also wasn't amazing. You can tell corned beef hash was homemade but it was more greasy hash than corned beef. I sadly paid 4 dollars for a coffee. When I was leaving I couldn't help over hear the family of five taking about how expensive everything is. Thankful it was just my son and I and not the whole family, today was 38 cash 40 for cc before tip. I understand inflation but every dollar also hits the customer and for that I can't afford to come back.

So I don't think I've ever given a business a 1 star rating but this place rightfully earned it. I ordered a Cuban Breakfast that has eggs, rice and beans, sausage, avocado and plantains. As i was taking my very last bite of the plantain BAM! I bit into something that not even my teeth could break or chew. Upon looking to see what it was, what do I find? A staple! I believe I may have swallowed one already, let's hope I didnt... This establishment needs to have a quality control person go there and check out what was up with that random staple in the food!

Horrible... absolutely horrible.. went once for breakfast and it was great. Went last night for dinner.. drove 30 mins. Ordered Romanian steak medium rare .. a pathetic piece came out well done .. I asked for thick cut bacon and got a fried piece of ham steak.. walked out paid bill and left.. absolute trash will never go again

Absolutely terrible service. Food was made incorrect, food was not fresh. You can tell the chicken was pre made and warmed up for the hero. Thought this place went out of business and then realized it only just moved. Maybe it should stayed out of business? FYI McDonald’s is across the street.

Good food. But to over priced. I went there with my aunt and cousin and we got charge an extra 3 dollars JUST because we used a debit card and they DID NOT tell us until we paid. Prices already are high and they are now charging you more. Not good!

Update 10/2018: There appears to be new staff and management here now. Our server was pleasant, but a bit inattentive. The other server on duty was hacking and almost vomiting in the area near the kitchen. The manger was completely unconcerned with customers. The food was pretty awful. The spinach dip served at everyone's table was runny and disgusting. We just ate the plastic wrapped bread sticks instead. The children's mac and cheese was the cheap "Kraft" kind, but not even that good, and probably a cut rate knock off. It was also served barely room temperature. My hot open roast beef was served barely room temperature and the lumpy gravy on top was actually cold. The corn side tasted horrible and it's probably why I had food poisoning symptoms that night and the following day. My wife's Philly cheese steak was decent, but dry. The bill for all of this came to $60 with tax and tip. We won't be returning any time soon.

I ordered pancakes and scrambled eggs. Pretty simple right? Of course They messed up my eggs and gave me over easy. They also didn't include butter and they gave me one Little cup of syrup for 3 large pancakes. Very disappointed to say the least.

I ordered a turkey burger. I asked if I could have a small salad in place of the fries and onion rings. I was told it would be a $5.00 up charge. I asked for some extra lettuce and tomato. That was a $2.00 up charge. The turkey burger was inedible. It was dry as a bone, and I could hardly swallow it. The taste was awful. It appeared to be a frozen patty that was warmed up in the microwave. The single tomato slice was mushy and tasted old. The waiter deposited the food, and he never returned, even though the diner was fairly empty. We had to ask for water and he never came back to refill the empty water glasses. The hamburger bun was definitely oversized for the paltry, very dry turkey burger. Stay clear of the turkey burger if you eat here and hopefully, you will get better service than I did.

Food was not bad but the service was terrible. I asked for well done bacon and it came like ruber and under cooked Half my meal was over before I got my coffee. I asked for extra napkins and ever got them. When I mentioned nt getting my coffee to waitress she said it is brewing when I observed her bring coffee to new customers at the table right next to mine. I will never go back to the Glendale Cove Diner nore will I recommend it to anyone.
