Ordered the Stone Pot Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib for takeout and it was DELICIOUS-packed with flavor and perfectly cooked vegetables! We will be back to try other dishes. Update: I also highly recommend the Chicken Cutlet Curry and Kalbi. Give it a try, the food is very delicious. Meter parking available in the back.
Ordered the Jalapeño and Cheese Katsu Curry expecting a bowl/plate the size of an average tofu soup. Got this gigantic behemoth instead that made me full for two meals. Delicious banchae with good spice. It was enough to make me sweat just a little and be able to enjoy the flavors still. The curry was piping hot and went so well with the rice and katsu.
While making some plans to meet up, I was reintroduced to this little gem. I've had it bookmarked for some time, but because of the assortment of restaurants that litter this area, it is easily forgotten. By some luck, the stars and plans aligned, allowing us to eat dinner here together. It's a cute little establishment, the interior decor gives you the kind of cozy feel, with little awnings and greenery. Their menu is filled with so many delicious appetizers, dumplings, hot stone pots, and curry! We all ordered different dishes, but they all looked amazing. My sweet pumpkin cheese curry katsu was so good, I'm already planning my next visit back. The katsu was deliciously cheesy, and the pumpkin purée added a nice sweetness to the savory pork. The katsu was breaded very well, I separated it from the rest of my meal so that it retained maximum crisp throughout the meal! Really excited to go back and try the noodles and the sweet potato cheese curry katsu. Thank you Pangeli for reintroducing me to such a delicious restaurant!
So I’m not one to write negative reviews but I’m going to be completely honest. The side dishes were so good. Should’ve went with their hot pots. The bento box was alright honestly the soup was a little salty but I’m not complaining. The waitress was very helpful and she was very attentive. She made our night very relaxing. She made us feel welcome. If you come here please bring something warm cause Glendale can be pretty cold at night. Bulgogi beef and the katsu chicken was really good very savory. I was disappointed that I ate it so fast I forgot that I even finished it. Cute restaurant. The interior is beautiful and they have other great options. Def going to come back to try their other meals cause they look really good. Hard to find a really good Korean restaurant in the area. But if you are walking by or driving by you should def check them out
The food is amazing! Their bonchon is very tasty and the service is always amazing especially Sam is always helpful and friendly. Love it here. Best korean food in Glendale.
Came here after watching a movie in the area. Jincook is very reminiscent of the overly famous Sun Nong Dan, but at a fraction of the cost. I was surprised by their soondubu jiggae, because it's just how I liek it, flavorful and the broth consistency is perfect -- not too thin, and not too thick either. The galbi jim is good, I jist wished the waitress spent more timr in toasting the cheese on top of it, because some of it was still raw and not melted. But other than that, we truly enjoyed the food and have came back countless times.
Ordered kalbi tang and dweji gukbap via Yelp. I had ordered before the restaurant opened for the day which worried me that the order may not be received but they had the food ready by the promised time. When I got there, both staff members I encountered were immediately friendly and helpful. While I didn't dine in, the ambience seemed relaxed. Both dishes that we ordered were delicious with fresh ingredients and were perfectly seasoned. The kids wanted more and more. Excellent experience with takeout. Will definitely be returning.
The food was delicious and the service awesome. We had the marinated dumplings, which were ao yummy. I had the Brisket Hot Stone... So good :) My son had the Army Stew, which is his favorite. My partner had the Katsu Combo. Everything was perfect... We loved the kimchi and even bought some to take home.
I'm very picky about Korean food but dang, I fell in love. Their mushroom japchae is *chefs kiss*. SO GOOD. Loads of mushrooms and I can't explain the flavoring but it's the perfect balance between savory and a little sweet. The galbitang was amazing as well- other places usually have a good amount of garlic but theirs really felt like bone broth and a hint of garlic. The meat was soft and was easy to get off the bone and I swear I wish I could carry the soup around in a thermos bc it was soooo yummy and comforting. The banchan was great as well! Bean sprouts, kimchi, ggakdugi, all the good stuff. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere of the store was calm and cozy. Definitely recommend!!
My favorite Korean place outside of ktown! My friend and I eat here at least twice a month, their 순두부 is why we keep coming back 🤤 We love to have 호떡 on a cold day (if they haven’t sold out) I hope this place is around for a long time! Sam is the best!

Visited Jin Cook in Glendale today for some authentic korean soul food. Upon entering the store we noticed all the authentic decor at the entrance. The restaurant had a good amount of tables and we were seated immediately. Shortly after it began to fill up and it was a full house. My friends and I ordered the braised beef short ribs (galbi jjim), seafood pancake, chicken noodle soup (kal guk soo), steamed dumplings and brisket hot stone. The braised short rib was tender and fall off the bone. The onions, rice cake, pumpkin and potato were soft and soaked up all the sauce that it came with giving us a punch of flavor with every bite. Would recommend eating it with rice to not waste any sauce. The cheese was evenly distributed on top and torched at the table. The seafood pancake had crispy edges and chunks of seafood in every bite. The steamed dumplings were pretty standard with the pork filling. I liked how thin the wrapper was and meat was flavorful. The chicken noodle soup was perfect for the chilly day we had. It was nice and warm which helped warm up our stomach before the meal. The noodles were nice and chewy while chicken was shredded and soft. The brisket hot stone reminded us of a gyudon. The meat was flavorful and the garnishes it came with gave it plenty of texture and depth. The staff was attentive and came around to check in on us. They refilled our waters and brought us more of the banchan. The sides included kimchi, radish, spinach and pickled onions which accompanied the meal well. Parking can be found in the back or on the street. They are located off Brand right across from Porto’s and a couple blocks away from The Americana. Perfect to go shopping then head over to eat or if you want do dine late at night. They serve alcohol and other non alcoholic drinks as well depending on your mood.
Jincook is Korean soul food. Everything was amazing the flavors were rich and satisfying. I still can’t stop thinking about how good the food was. I absolutely loved the steamed pork dumplings and the seasoned dumplings. All of the dishes and side dishes feel traditional and also seem very healthy. We also ordered the spicy tofu soup (soondubu jjigae), which I had never tried before, and it was delicious. We ordered bibim noodles with plenty of chicken and vegetables it was refreshing, almost like a chicken salad, and so tasty. I will definitely order it again next time. We also tried the Korean galbi and Korean garlic soy chicken, and everything was great. I was really happy that at Jincook you can enjoy both spicy flavors and comforting, mild flavors. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience
If you want some Korean soul food then this place is for you. The decor takes you back in time, everything is so clean and the service is super friendly. Great to see more Korean restaurants in the city. We ordered Sweet potato cheese curry katsu , Brisket hot stone , Traditional pork soup, Garlic soy chicken, Bibimbap hot stone, Mushroom japchae, and Marinated dumpling. I definitely recommend getting the hot stone dishes since I love how it crisps up the rice. Definitely one of my top favorites that’s not AYCE Korean food. Plenty of pay parking in the back.
It’s easily one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve had. The portions are generous, everything is packed with flavor, and you can really taste the quality in each dish. The spicy fried chicken and the pork ribs were absolute standouts, both were incredibly good. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is beautiful with a traditional touch that adds a lot of charm. Honestly, you can go there with your eyes closed.
This is the kind of meal you crave when you want something warm, filling, and full of flavor🫶🏼 The Bulgogi Hot Stone arrived sizzling, with tender beef and rice that gets crispy as you eat. The Sweet Potato Cheese Katsu surprised us with its sweetness and gooey center, while the Pork Katsu was perfectly breaded and juicy. The Korean BBQ Short Rib was deeply savory and comforting, and the Korean Pancake added that crispy, shareable bite every table needs. Pair it all with a Soju Highball, and it’s comfort food done right.
Our family loves coming here, sometimes we forget it’s down the street!! Service and food is 100% all the time, we love the bulgogi and the fried dumplings ommggg sooo good! I’m sure everything else on the menu is good will definitely be coming back!
This hidden gem in Glendale feels like stepping into an old-school Korean eatery—simple, cozy, and packed with charm. The no-reservation, walk-in-only policy means it’s always bustling, especially during dinner hours, but the wait is so worth it. The staff is friendly, and the vibe feels like a classic spot you’d find in Seoul. Everything is served fresh, with generous portions and no fuss. Perfect for a casual night out without the hassle of heading to K-Town. If you’re looking for authentic Korean comfort food in a relaxed setting, this is the place!
My friends and I went here a few weeks ago, around 9pm. In a pinch and late night, this spot is great to get Korean food. The venue decor was a homage to traditional Korean decor! Service was great, our food runner and server were very attentive. The menu had a variety of Korean dishes, in addition to Japanese and Korean fusion dishes. I got the beef bone soup with rice, my friends ordered : LA Korean BBQ Beef Rib, spicy tofu stew, marinated, dumpling, and two other soup items... I forgot which ones. The flavors were very homelike, and cozy. The only thing that I was sad about - they didn't have sea salt or perilla seeds. However, that is more of a personal choice, not really something to criticize a business over.
Hands down, Jincook Korean restaurant is a must-visit in Glendale! The Pork Cutlet curry over rice is a game-changer - it's the best in town! The Suyuk was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning. And the Mushroom japchae? Wow, every bite was bursting with truffle flavor! But what really sets Jincook apart is the decor - it's like stepping into a traditional Korean setting. The attention to detail is impressive, and it definitely adds to the overall dining experience. If you're a fan of Korean food, or just looking for a delicious meal, Jincook is the place to go. Highly recommend!
The food is so great and tasty. The serving size is enough for two or three persons. They have their own ideas to make traditional foods creative.
One of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to. We went after they extended the opening hours to late night. The queue is long since early evening but fortunately we didn’t have to wait so long. There are traditional dishes and fusion dishes. The shitake mushroom and the mushroom curry were my favorites! My friends really like rose toekbokki. They took the remaining thick soup to eat in the next meal. There were only 2 servers in a full house restaurant so they worked hard and it sometimes took time to get attention but food serving was pretty quick. Parking was metered and it looked full but we did find a spot.
Food was GREAT, we got the marinated dumplings, the seafood pancake, tofu soup, pork katsu and cheese Kathy with curry and the hot and iced oolong teas, everything was SOOOO good!!!! So happy we came here, the food also came out pretty quick!
Really delicious, sides were perfect and better than ive had at other places. Kalbi, seolleongtang and bibimpap all delcios!

On November 18, 2025, we visited Jincook, a Korean restaurant. We really had a wonderful experience. Our server, May, was exceptional—very attentive, friendly, always smiling, with good attitude since nothing ever seemed to be a problem for her. Truly outstanding service! We ordered the hot beef bibimbap, and it was delicious and flavorful. We requested the sauce and the kimchi on the side, and they happily accommodated us without any hesitation. The place itself is cozy and inviting. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for its great food, excellent service, and the flexible, welcoming and positive attitude of both the server and the kitchen staff.
More like a 4.5. For a Korean restaurant in Glendale, Jincook is as legit as it gets. This restaurant has the awesome interior vibes that's much like being in a traditional Korean environment but with nice modern touches. And for the food, the menu mixes traditional Korean and modern Korean dishes to make for a delicious and fun experience. For sure, get the galbi-jimm, because it is huge, tasty, and they even light it on fire. The chicken katsu was also pretty good. It's one of my go-tos in an Asian restaurant if I don't know what else to get. But the biggest surprise to me was the soon tofu, which was very flavorful and melt in your mouth. The banchan selections are also very traditional. A bit on the sweet side, but it's not entirely my focus since I gotta concentrate on the big entrees. There are a few locations of Jin Cook around, but if you're looking for in the Glendale area, then you're in luck. I think it's especially great for small groups, so that you can enjoy that braised short rib dish, and even their pork belly dish (which hopefully I can get next time).

Jin Cook was in my bookmark folder for quite a while, finally got the chance to try it with my wife yesterday. We tried the Pork Curry Katsu and Spicy Beef Bone Broth with Glass Noodle. Both of them were very tasty, however, for the price, it was small. The curry was great but no selection on the spicy level. The beef broth is superb but the meat ingredients are too little. Not sure if I will go back especially when there are other similar choices with better pricing nearby.
I’m not very versed in Korean food so my review is mostly for people that are in the same boat. This place is very nice, good service. We were a big group so I tried different dishes, my favorite was the Spicy Pork with Rice (can’t remember the actual name). Knocking one star because the soups were just ok, for the price I expected better.
I've got to be honest... I've got mixed feelings about this place, but I'm definitely willing to come back to try out different menu items. First of all, their banchan is amazing. They only serve kimchi, pickled radish, and pickled onions but damn they're pretty good. I'd believe them if they told me they had cute Korean grandmas making all the banchans in the kitchen. The food, for me, is where Jin Cook fell short. While it's not what they're known for, I ordered the Army Stew because I wanted something hearty and spicy and while the flavor of the broth was good, they didn't really put much in the stew. If you ever order Army Stew at a restaurant in Ktown, you'll get a bowl PACKED with veggies and canned/processed meats and ramen noodles, but unfortunately I was left wanting more. My girlfriend ordered the Sweet Pumpkin Cheese Curry Katsu and we both liked it. The pumpkin flavor is very subtle and quiet but the dish as a whole was good and filling. While there aren't a lot of servers, they were all very nice and did their best to help everyone. There is paid parking in the back but there should be plenty of free street parking as well. Overall, I would probably pass on the army stew and get one of their other soups next time.
Excellent food and a beautiful establishment. Galbi was outstanding! Only reason I docked one star is because the service could have been better. The young kid was a bit disorganized and kept forgetting my drink. Otherwise - I'd come back for sure
Wasn’t expecting much but it turned out be pretty tasty. Service was “eh.” We ordered the Spicy Tofu Soup, Beef Soup, and marinated dumplings. The broth for both of ours was on point—tasty and not overly salted. The dumplings had the perfect amount of crispy-ness to it. I’m not a fan of sweet sauces, so the sauce wasn’t so great for me. But if you’re okay with that, then this is a great dish for you.
It was packed at 730 on a Friday but we got a table for 2 quickly. Ordered the bulgogi, chicken Katsu, and the pancake - all of which were so good! Perfect spot during the unusually chilly weather.
Delicious food!! Highly recommend the chicken katsu curry, bulgogi hot stone, and mushroom japchae.
Good spot for Korean food. They also have some good katsu. Can definitely recommend the jalapeno cheese curry katsu. Inside is pretty cool with the street stall wooden decoration. Decent amount of seating. Can get pretty busy so there might be a wait. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking or a pay lot behind the building.
Out of the three dishes my friends and I ordered, the chicken katsu stood out the most. It was surprisingly juicy and breaded just right. The sauce was good too. The beef bone broth and its spicy variant were good too—after a dash of salt and pepper. The sides weren’t bad either. As for seating, there’s a lot of tables. There’s paid parking behind the restaurant and metered parking on the streets surrounding around the restaurant.

I came here for dinner with my friend and I heard so many good things about it! The interior was clean and had some nice Korean decorations. The side dishes weren’t anything special, you get some bean sprouts, kimchi, pickled lettuce, pickled onion, and spicy radish. We ordered the beef broth soup and cheese curry katsu. The broth soup was so yummy! I highly recommend it. You get a good amount of meat and it’s easy to share. The cheese katsu was so crispy and savory. It’s a good portion for 1-2 people! Overall, the food was good and I would come again to try the other dishes. I think the service was just adequate, nothing over the top.
We tried quite a few things off the menu. The food was good, but didn’t necessarily stand out to me. I eat Korean food quite often. I guess for being located right on Brand, it’s nice to have a place to go that has a little bit of everything. Out of what we ordered, I liked the mushroom japchae and the spicy pork with cheese the most.
Dropped by while on vacation in SoCal. The place wasn't packed, but there was a bit of a wait. The service was good. The food was okay. We ordered the bogogi hot stone and braised beef short ribs. Both dishes came out tasting okay. I would order beef short ribs again. The parking is bad during peak times. The area has street parking, and we had to circle a bit. If you can find parking, give this place a try.

The beef soup is $20 but has very little beef and noodles. It was very disappointing considering the katsu is same but way bigger. portion is way too small
We went during dinner time and it wasn't busy or anything yet it took them maybe 30 mins to take our order, and then the waiter left to check something and never came back so we had to flag down another waiter to help us. They never checked to see how our food was and they took almost just as long to give us our check. The food lacked flavor and they never waited on us to see if we wanted more water, or anything. Definitely wouldn't come back. Food looked appealing, was flavorless
I’m a semi regular here. Had a beef bone broth soup with beef that had only 2 small slices of beef (2 inch thin slices). Cutting corners lately. Very disappointed.
