Fox and Finch

Fantastic food, excellent wine choices, and incredibly attentive staff. We come here often as just a couple or with our son and Ethan and the team always give the warmest welcome. The menu is fresh and the ingredients are very high quality, and there's always an excellent pairing on the wine list!

Absolutely fantastic pub, the best in Godalming with a great selection of wine! Staff go above and beyond and make you feel extremely welcome. Food is incredible with generous portions! If I could give 6/5 stars I would! Very happy regular! :)

Fantastic pub. Came in for drinks and snacks and was served by Ethan and Jordan, both very pleasant very polite and friendly. Made me and my partner feel very at home. Will most certainly be returning for the top quality service and food !

Just had an impromptu lunch with a friend at the Fox and Finch as it is usually always good. Jordan who served us made us stay very comfortable, nothing was too much trouble and the food and service was excellent. Looking forward to returning soon.

Popped in on the off chance they had a table and even though they were short staffed Georgia ( sorry if I got the name wrong ) found us a spare table. The service, food and whole experience was amazing. Excellent Sunday roast and amazing deserts. Overall I would highly recommend this as a go too if you ever visit Godalming. Thanks again guys. Popped in briefly early evening..impressed with the place with its high ceilings yet cosy atmosphere.. ordered a bar snack although it said open, the food was closed for orders till 5pm, which was fine as it was only 10 mins till. I ordered the sotch eggs and l have to say they were the best lve had ! Really good value too. Highly recommend 👌 as l would assume, all else on the menu would be equally good..

Really nice pub with great friendly staff. Had diner and the pie of the day was absolutely amazing. So good we returned for lunch the following day and I have to say the club sandwich was the best sandwich iv had in my life, well worth the price. I would 100% recommend you eat at this pub.

Really good pub. Went for the first time last night in quite a group of 10. Food was excellent and staff were superb. The gent and the lady with funky eyeliner behind the bar (on 25/09/25) were excellent - efficient and very welcoming. I normally moan about customer service at pretty much everywhere I go, so it's good to acknowledge when you find staff that are decent. Good pub

We often attend the Monday Quiz at The Fox and Finch. It is our favourite Quiz in the area run by Iain the Quiz Master. The food is always excellent. Ethan and the team are very friendly and Ethan always remembers what we like to drink. We would thoroughly recommend.

I only came in for a pint and the service was fantastic. Ethan K made buying the drink the quickest and easiest whilst keeping everything professional. Will definitely be coming back!

I went there to check it out we sat outside because we have our bird pet , I had a lovely cocktail it was amaretto cocktail base smell lovely too ! We went back there before Christmas to watch the game we had a lovely meals there , staff and services was very friendly, I really enjoyed my dishe Seabass with chorizo 😋 even have the same cocktails and margaritas.

Jordan was extremely helpful and the service was excellent! He helped us with our blue light card to get us discount and went above and beyond to assist us! We would definitely come back!

We were welcomed from the get go by Ella and the service was 10/10. She was attentive to our table and was friendly and chatty. Food was quick and the pub as always, has a good atmosphere!

We always enjoy visiting The Fox & Finch The staff are all so friendly & welcoming. Jordan is so helpful & asks about dietary requirements having a good understanding of the menu. My dietary requirements are always met & Marcus the chef created a delicious dish for me Highly recommend

Came here for something to eat and a few drinks. We were looked after by two young men (Jordan & Ethan) The service, food and drinks were all faultless. A very easy five stars

Had been in there for a drink previously but after trying to find somewhere decent for a meal locally, (2 other establishments we had walked into and walked straight out of!) we thought we’d give the Fox & Finch a try and was impressed at not only the quality of the food but also the exceptional service, they could not have been more down to earth, helpful and efficient 👌🏼 We were a little worried as it was quiz night but they found us a table that was quiet enough to not feel disturbed but still felt warm, comfortable and sociable

Wonderful staff and wonderful food. The roast chicken was delicious with lots of gravy. The craft table is always so great and the kids love it. A win for all!

The pub is gorgeous. Super friendly staff, always up for a chat and a laugh. Ethan, the gaffa, is really close with my mate and his wife, and always goes well out of his way to make them feel welcome, absolute gent. Fully reccomeded. 👍

Food was banging, burger was nicely sized and a decent portion of chips. Niall was also a lovely fella ensuring all of our experience was great!!

Love this place... our fave pub in town! The food is excellent, great atmosphere and staff are always super friendly. Ethan in particular makes lots of effort to welcome us! Desserts were a highlight, rhubarb & custard cheesecake was amazing.

The best staff in any pub on the high street. Amazing service always friendly and welcoming! Great and regular live music and events. Would highly recommend to anyone - especially the Sunday roast!

I really enjoyed lunch here! I popped in for lunch on a Saturday lunch time, just when the lions were on the tv. Immediately there was a great atmosphere! We didn't book in advance and were shown straight to a table, just far enough away that the rugby didn't cause us any issues with noise but also kept the atmosphere rather fun with the odd cheer! But it was the lunch we had that made this trip! I went for the pie of the day, a shepherd's pie.. yes in July! My partner had the chicken club sandwich. There was no drama about my 9 month old having what we brought along for her either. The food turned up not too long after we had ordered even though there were quite a few other tables. The chicken club sandwich was a proper club sandwich, fresh ingredients and stacked high! My partner was very please, her side of fries was almost too much to add. My shepherd's pie was probably one of the best I've ever had and I've had my fair share! I had to ask what the carrots were cooked in as they made me really smile as I bit into them.. the veg in general I could have eaten rather happily alone, I really enjoyed myself. We will be going back again very soon! Definitely worth popping in!

Came in for a catch up with friends, a good selection of drinks on draft and Estrella 0.0 which I was grateful for as I was driving, we had a table book, the waitress was very pleasant and took our order with ease, even with the fussy eaters amongst us. The food was tasty, I chose a burger with cheese and bacon, the house burger sauce was good, added and extra flavour to the burger. There were a good few people on there and some had there four legged companions with them, it was a great atmosphere.

Great Sunday Lunch. Delicious food and excellent service. The craft table really made our lunch as the ladies were so great with our kids and allowed us to enjoy the great food. Thanks to Ella, Ellie and Jordan. We will be back.

Fantastic pub with a lot to offer. Popped in on Tuesday for some lunch to meet a friend, the waitress was very friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend this place!

Georgia is warm, welcoming, helpful, respectful, and approachable. She offers excellent service when offering me a drink or food at the Fox & Finch. Full marks, she deserves it. :)

Fabulous food and a unique, interesting menu that makes such a change to a lot of other pubs who all seem to offer the same thing. Also a unique and interesting venue being (I believe) the old court room with a vaulted ceiling over the bar area but a cosier feel in the dining areas. The outside areas are excellent too. The host is very personable and professional welcoming us back after only one previous visit. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had a late Tuesday lunch in January so it wasn’t busy, hence the score for atmosphere. Jordan gave us a very warm welcome and looked after us really well. The food was pretty good, we all finished mains and desserts all washed down with a nice bottle of pinot. Overall a good experience and brilliant service from Jordan.

Newly renovated, we went for Thursday evening dinner. It feels like they are still learning the ropes a little but are making lots of effort. The food was okay. Had crab salad to start, followed by burger. My wife had the chicken katsu curry and we shared a sticky toffee pudding for desert. Overall food was okay, rather than special, with a relatively compact menu. Will go back to see how it has come on in a few months. They do have a large selection of beers on tap. Thursday night they had introduced a “jazz” evening. Thankfully we got a table towards the back so it wasn’t too loud.

I really enjoyed the vibe of the environment. Nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Was disappointed since I looked up prior to my visit their special January “Veganuary” vegan menu but when I arrived they said they weren’t offering it yet. They did have their vegan cheeseburger available which honestly, it’s not good. Fake meat patty, not good. Awful smell too. Vegans are vegan for a reason, offer a black bean burger instead and even non-vegans will enjoy it! Would eat there again to try another dish.

The atmosphere inside was very nice and the food and drinks were tasty. We ordered the Sunday roast chicken which was good but seemed a bit small for a roast. Overall a good experience. Not many gluten free options.

Love the atmosphere and quiz was great. Only slight complaint was the chunky chips were a little hard. Will be back though as great night with friends for pre Christmas catch up

On two occasions on a recent trip to the UK and Godalming we enjoyed a very pleasant lunch-time meal (fish and chips, burgers) with a refreshing cold ale (on tap). Very friendly service with a smile, a child friendly, light-filled space stylishly decorated. For wheelchair users, note there is a single step up to get into the premises (there is a restroom for the disabled as far as I recall). There are also tables on the ground level outside which can be accessed more easily. A few parking lots around and about if you have a vehicle. A lovely high street with a historical feel to explore afterwards. Would definitely visit again!

Nice pub in Godalming town. Only popped in for a drink, nice building with a friendly barman. Would like to return and try the food.

Pros: The pub itself is lovely aesthetically, nice atmosphere and a decent portion size for the food. Cons: The service was poor, our first server could not grasp what we were trying to order and our second didn’t check back on our food, brought over an empty salt shaker, and we had to ask for napkins with our cutlery. We also sat with our plates for half an hour once we’d finished our food, without anyone coming to clear or check on us. The cauliflower cheese was cold on arrival, and we asked for a replacement and the second one was no better, and lacked seasoning or flavour. The mussels came with no side bowl for the shells, and no finger bowl either. For the price, I would have expected far better food quality and service. For a roast, 2 sides and 2 pints it was £42 and we were charged service even though we were asked to come and order at the bar.

Disappointed!!! Had a kids as not a big eater. daughter had the vegetarian meal. £49.00 with two pints of beer!!! To be honest no trimmings. Overpriced, £12.00 for kids portion. On a side plate. Don’t recommend at all for Sunday roast. Go to the Star Inn in Godalming. Would put Fox and Finch to shame. Sorry will not be coming back you for a Sunday roast again.
