The family was starving after a long road trip! Figured road house would be fitting. It was a great pick! All around good service and amazing food!!
An excellent experience from start to finish. Food was bursting with flavor.
Finding a hidden gem is always exciting but this one is my favorite to date. I only wish I get food pics before I dug in. The atmosphere, staff, food, literally everything was amazing. Neat back ground story, too. Did you know the California Coast was bombed during WWII? Luckily, minimal damage. If you find yourself on the 101 near Santa Barbara, make the stop. Or have a nice road trip, I know I will be just to come back! Extra shout out to Tara who was my server and info guru.
I am so thrilled that the place opened after all these years. I have lived in the area all my life and look forward to coming here regularly as the dinner was wonderful. We all enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere very much.❤
Old western tavern style restaurant. Rarely found in California. The Location is Ideal for travelers. Strictly Old fashioned American decoration, menu and drinks, so do not expect a culinary experience, Just a nice highway stop. and for locals to hang out, reasonably priced.
Amazing service, great food, cool atmosphere. The history of the building was an interesting read. Overall, a great experience for our family vacation. Would definitely visit again.
A nice little gem of a place. Old rustic timbers, outdoor area to eat or play pingpong, great for large gatherings. I ordered the avacado cheeseburger and beer battered onion rings! The tri tip sandwich was good too.
Large restaurant with many open tables. Good food with mostly American cuisine. The free garlic bread and butter is tasty and well seasoned. Had the Rib Eye Steak medium rare. They ran out of Prime Rib. Appetizers with fried pickles and brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were good and my friends thought the fried pickles were good. Friends had the duck and filet mignon which was very good as well. The place was not too crowded on a Wed night for dinner. Low volume. Didn't need to speak loud to communicate. Had the atmosphere and decor of a log cabin. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Highly recommended. Nice place for a quiet dinner with a small or large group
We were 3 couples with anticipation of a great steak dinner. Timbers did not disappoint. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. Our Ribeye was on special, quite reasonable ! The atmosphere was great, the place was busy. We are taking our kids tonight for my husband's birthday, can't wait. I had the best Fish and Chips here for lunch. Try the El Cap Margarita, yum !!!!
We celebrated a Birthday Saturday evening 23 of us. We had the Best waiter (Philip) Ever! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 All the wait staff was fantastic very attentive, friendly and "professional. The event coordinator was Accommodating and professional. Thank you to Geno "Owner. For having a warm and comfortable setting for our party. "Dinner was so delicious! The Primerib is a must try if you are a meat eater. All our dinners were perfectly prepared. 🌟 Thank you again. Donna Hayes
Excellent service, fantastic food, in a gorgeously restored building steeped in local history. My wife had the fish and chips while I enjoyed the seared swordfish. Preparation and presentation was lovely and our server very attentive. We will definitely be back! If you’ve been considering stopping in, Timbers Roadhouse will not disappoint!
We came to dinner to celebrate my son's UCSB graduation. Phillip was our server and he was very polite, attentive, friendly and knew everything about the menu. The food was yummy, with big portions. We would definitely dine here again.
We went for the historical significance and found excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The vibe was relaxed and fun, while the decor and service was elegant. We had ribs that were juicy and tender, with grilled shrimp that were perfectly cooked. It was so good we went back the next day for lunch in the bar...amazing menus. Don't pass up then fried chicken sandwich (they had a griied option too but we were on vacation;-)). There were lots of sports on the tvs and attentive servers. Don't miss this jewel, especially the great outdoor space.
This place is fantastic. They need a sign close to the freeway though especially heading North so folks can see the place. Maybe a giant log with Timbers engraved up and down and a steak on top. We drove by twice while visiting the area and said what the heck the third time and pulled in. What a score for us! Excellent everything! This is one of those places that you make a tradition of going to when in town. For us, we are going to bring our adult daughters back up here, ride the Santa Barbara Trolley, do the SB Buggy and have dinner here at Timbers. Then to the hotel and home the next day. The best part will be in Timbers when we share the day in a cozy place. Thanks Timbers. PS, You really do need a better sign. :)
A friends trip home was postponed due to Dallas Airport being closed. So 5 of us got together and went to The Timbers. I had been there once when it was still open yrs ago. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was great. It's big enough to be busy, yet not have you on top of one another. The food choices... omg, seriously, you could go there for days and not have to have the same thing twice. We got appetizers, the pretzel, the zucchini, and artichoke something. We all shared, and there was plenty. One was just as good as the other. For dinner, we had t bone steak, some fish(I don't recall what type they ordered), a beef dip, and I think our vegetarian friend got some type of veggie burger. Every one of us enjoyed our meal. One person with us is picky about his food and doesn't like things that most people I know do. So the fact he loved his was beyond amazing. His was the fish. The zucchini was so good that we've actually ordered some to go a couple of times since the day of the dinner. It was just as good as the night we had it with dinner. We all commented on how it was one of the best meals all the way around several times. I know I've recommended The Timbers to a bunch of people. Lastly, the prices are good. I paid $19 for the beef dip, which came with a mountain of amazing fries. Fries was what I chose. You have a few items to choose from. I feel that was a good price. I pay the same amount at a bbq place in town. I walked away from dinner and thought this place was perfect. It's just a down-home feeling type of place. It's as if it's your family's place. If say if you wanted to know on a scale of 1 through 10. I'd give it a 15
Great atmosphere, plenty of fun decor to look at; portions are large—I’m not one for leftovers and I ended up with a box. If you come here, you absolutely need to get the potato skins!
Love the lodge decor and big fireplace. We had the prime rib soup, Cobb salad & open face steak sandwich. All was excellent and full of flavor. Will be back! Only wish the bowl of soup was a bowl. It's no more than a cup in a very small crock. If the crock was full it would have been good. This soup had amazing flavor. Salad is big. Wait staff was perfect too. Great attitude. 😊
Highly recommend the Timbers Burger. The hostess and server were super super nice. The portions are decently sized, not over-sized. Great atmosphere. Bathrooms are fairly clean. Seating options in bar, dining room, or outside. Local wines. Good dessert selection.
I had the beef rib, and it was perhaps the most tender meat I have ever had ! It was also a generous cut, which I could not finish, so had take-home. The next day when I cut into it to reheat, the marbling was easier to see, it was incredibly uniform; and once again DELICIOUS. Could not recommend this dish more highly.
This place is amazing! The bread was the BEST, the soup and salad were very good, the Timber burger was excellent, and the homemade pie....wow! And Philip, our waiter, provided us with military precision service. What a great experience!
Came in today for a early birthday dinner. First time at this restaurant. The history of the restaurant is historically intriguing. The staff are super friendly and so accommodating! We were early for dinner but able to order from the dinner menu with few limitations. Our meals were absolutely delicious! Love, love, love the fried pickles! I could’ve made a meal out of them! We have found our new favorite place to eat in Goleta! BTW, the cheesecake, yuuuuuuuuuuum!!!!!!
A very rustic old wood restaurant made from left over timbers of a pier. Lots of space to eat outdoors or indoors for large gatherings. Love the big stone fireplace, the waterfall at the entrance, the ping pong table and outdoor games for kids is a nice touch. To eat I had the cheeseburger with avocado and beer battered onion rings. Very good!
I haven’t had a steak in over a year but was really craving one for my birthday so thought we’d try a to-go order from Timbers. I had the Flat Iron which was cooked perfectly, served with the creamiest mashed potatoes I’ve ever had and the grilled veggies were well seasoned and not over-cooked. My husband had the steak sandwich which he said was better than Chuck’s. Kim, the owner is the best, please support her and her crew!
Saw several poor reviews recently, but tried it anyway. It was amazing! Gorgeous interior, super fun outdoor area. The food was great, had the filet mignon and it was tender, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection! The staff was extraordinary, as well!
We have been going to the Timbers for decades and have attended many parties and family celebrations there. They always exceeded our expectations, the food is delicious, and we love the cozy, casual atmosphere. Service is spot on and their menu offers something for everyone. We can't wait to go back with ALL of our friends and family! Thank you for the good food, good time and amazing memories!
We have eaten here many times, both lunch and dinner. The food has always been great, and the service is excellent. There is a big outside area for groups, and kids. The history of the place is simple amazing! My favorite is the huge 1 rib bone in short rib glazed with bbq sauce, or prime rib. 😋😋😋😋 I can't wait to go there again, and I would recommend this place to anyone!
The atmosphere is wonderful. On rainy days their wood fireplace is lit. Waiters are well trained. They have a relaxed bar area where you can dine-in and they have the formal dining room as well.
The service was top-notch and the food came out hot. A wonderful dining experience.
We heard about this restaurant from a few people and never tried it- but we got excellent service and had great food! My elderly grandmother went with us and our waiter, Phillip, was so patient with her and treated us with such warm hospitality. Everything was delicious, atmosphere was great, and I really cannot say enough about the service! The history and story of the building also makes it very special. To anyone who is thinking about going- go give it a visit!
Glad I finally gave this spot a shot, has ample space and seating inside with an accommodating parking lot as well. The tri-tip sandwich exceeded my expectations. Will certainly be back to try more! Service was attentive and helpful with recommendations.
Went to try a burger. Sister had the Timbers burger. Bacon jam was excellent. She said it was the best burger she's ever had. We shared potato skins & shrimp fritters. Yummo! They even changed channels for us to watch the game we wanted to see. Friendly service, food was hot & lots of flavor. Definitely will return.
It was a wonderful place to dine in front of the fireplace. In the very rustic dining room. It was nice to have professional waiters and shelves at a reasonable price. It was now our favorite place to stop and either have lunch or dinner on our way through Santa Barbara to San Francisco or down to LA.
Will be going here more often. Finally a restaurant that has great food that also doesn't just cater to the prevailing point of view. Everyone one is welcome, even true patriots that love our country! Long Live 9/28/24!
Went here yesterday for lunch and was impressed! I had the tri-tip sandwich and it was YUM! I loved the laid back atmosphere, the service was on point, and the menu options were vast. Lots to choose from. I can't wait to go back again. Thank you Timbers!
Had an amazing time with my kiddos and friends for an early dinner. We had a blast on the outdoor patio with all their fun games and toys. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were delicious. Would recommend to anyone who has family in town or just has little ones. The inside looked romantic and cozy too.
Here are 2 colorful dish on Mother's Day special Menu! There is a huge fun place on the back patio for kids to play as well as big party events outdoors. If you prefer a romantic or quiet diner, the " GREAT ROOM"is best. If you prefer watching sports and mingling with other guests, the bar area( Whiskey Joe room) is it. Recommended dish: appetizers: Artichoke Dip, crispy Brussel sprouts, Shrimp Fritters, Oxtail Mac and cheese Entree: Duck conflict, Beef ribs, Local Catch of the day (Halibut), Shirmp Alfredo Pasta.
The food was so excellent it completely blew me away. Pan seared salmon, salad, sweet potato fries, onion rings, roasted Brussels sprouts, halibut...all incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. Very nice wine & drink list. Jill was our lovely server. Highly recommend! :)

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable meal. The steaks? Absolutely divine. This is a great place to bring the family for a nice dinner. It has a very spacious outdoor patio area, including a pool table, corn hole, and a play area for the kids. There are multiple personal seating areas for small groups that include comfortable seating and a fireplace at each location. The interior has a very rich history as well as a very comfortable feel of a long cabin in. The food is delicious and the staff are very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend this for a night cap, or a happy hour kind of night, watching the game. The prices are great and the selection is amazing. Thanks guys, I will definitely be returning
My wife Shari and I went to Timbers on Valentine's Day for dinner. We had heard great things about the food and it was really excellent. The whole vibe in the restaurant was exciting and the service was extraordinary, wonderful, and exact. It had been over thirty-five years ago that we visited Timbers - it was closed for the longest time and it is wonderful to see it resurrected into a favorite local restaurant. It is especially nice for anyone who has any trouble hard-of-hearing. You can sit at a table against the wall or, like we did, we sat at a table in front with the wall behind our table, and it was great! Here's to the good times!
Lovely hidden gem in the middle of the main road. Great service. Food was surprisingly delicious and well cooked
Jill and all the staff there today were so amazing super mindful and very informative of the establishment. The food was huge and delicious. Definitely recommend the veggie lasagna delicious I’ve never experienced such quick service at a sit down restaurant before until today and the back is so cozy with games it feels like homey
Incredible! We found this jewel by total accident. Kind of an out of the way place. But well worth the trip.
it's a rustic large restaurant off the 101. Great old town service, good feel, good cozy vibe. Great staff and Service. Feel good options including tri-tip sliders, buffalo wings, large bar, outside appearance deceptive, nicely kept interior. Great for Corporate parties. Really nice outside open area for seating, game options as well.
I loved dining in this resturant. The huge fire made it seem so cozy. The food was really good. Fried zucchini had a really light and flavorful batter, can't wait to go back and try the fish and chips. Prime rib had a little yorkshire pudding on top, such a great presentation. Jill was our server, she was top notch.
Our first time dining here and we were craving bbq. The tri-tip was made Santa Maria style which my husband enjoyed. The bbq baby back ribs was meaty and tasty. Our server was attentive and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is huge and we liked the ambience.
We celebrated our 30 year anniversary here and enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was top notch. Best fried zucchini ever. It is pricey, but worth it. Highly recommend it.
BEST BURGER OF MY LIFE HERE. I promise, it’s not an exaggeration. Get the Timber’s burger medium, EVERY BITE was divine. You know it’s good when you’re sitting with your husband and the only conversation topic while eating is how good the burger is.
This is built from the remaining timbers of the ellwood pier, which was one of the only places in America attacked by Japan during WWII by a Japanese submarine. The atmosphere transports you back to the days of western steak houses. They have some very old school dishes and some modern surprises. They have cocktails, steak, and Brussels sprouts to cheese beer pretzels. They had the fireplace going so there was a nice faint woody smoke smell, which enhanced the occasion.
We were pleasantly surprised, nice lunch menu selection, we had the Tri-tip sandwich and NY strip steak open face sandwich both are superb and well crafted. The service was excellent and welcoming.

I usually write reviews to warn people about bad places but this place is so good I needed to leave a good review. They have the best burger I've ever had. I have a list of the best burgers around the world and this is my top 1 so far. Come try it, it is under 20$.
When the recent rain storm made it difficult to travel on Christmas Day we needed an alternative place to meet between Ventura and SLO counties. Timbers saved our family Christmas! They sat our family of 10 in their event space and we were served so kindly by Gino. Oxtail Mac n Cheese, Brussels sprouts, and fried pickles got us started. My husband loved his fish and chips. The burgers are hand packed and delicious, the Cobb salad was enormous. Thanks Timbers, and Gino, we appreciate your venue as a great family gathering place.

Went for lunch with my colleague we both had a triple meat lunch special sandwich and fries all the food was quality, fresh, tasty and hot / warm appropriately. Service was very attentive. Met one of the family owners super gracious. Who definitely recommend.
Great food, excellent service, and not surprisingly pretty expensive $$$$ I guess it is worth the price, but I was in sticker shock for paying a lunch meal over $130, including tip. Two appetizers, two small cocktails, one chicken burger and tiny creme brulee. Thinking back on it, it was delicious, so it's worth it if you have the $$$$. We had the Crispy wings appetizer which state crispy, yet were dowsed with buffalo sauce and soggy (tasty and good to eat but was hoping for crispy). Also got the spicy artichoke dip for an appetizer. Sooooo good and the green chilies were nice but not too hot to make your nose or eyes run. I loved the crispy chips that came with it too! Grilled chicken sandwich with the bacon, avocado, and smokey flavor from the oak was flavorful and delicious! Our waiter, Philip, was right on point with drinks and attentiveness. Pleasant and courteous while answering our questions and taking our orders. This was lunch and we are definitely going to come back for dinner.
Have lived in this area for a quarter of a century and this place has always been closed. Saw that it was open and stopped for lunch on our way back from Santa Barbara. This place is huge and appears to be set up for dinner service, as the lunch area (complete with multiple TV's for sports) was way smaller. Service was good as was the food. I wouldn't drive 50 miles just to go here, but if you're passing and hungry this is a good place to stop and eat.
My friends and I went to the Timbers for a high school reunion. It had been years since I had been there last. The restaurant has been through many changes over the years... "After years of turnover, new names, new owners & even being used as a place of worship for a Lutheran congregation The Timber’s name was resurrected some 40 years ago as a popular Goleta eatery. Closing once again in 2003. In 2021 Kim and Gino Stabile, 5th generation Santa Barbarians with over 50 years combined hospitality experience, reopened this historic restaurant and local Landmark as Timbers Roadhouse, continuing the original dream that was started over 60 years ago." If you go to their website on Google, you can read the history of this site for yourself. It's a good place for comfortable dining. The food is good, the atmosphere inviting, and the staff will make your visit worthwhile. It's out in the far reaches of Goleta, CA off the Winchester Exit. There is plenty of free parking. We didn't get a chance to dig into the menu as we were there for an event and the menu had been predetermined. One of these days, I will return to enjoy their new menu. This place is an excellent location to have your event, big or small. Granted, it's a bit 'out-of-the-way' and 'off-the-beaten-path' however, the Timbers Restaurant is worth the trip. Check them out.
What a great place! Took the family had a nice lunch and the atmosphere was so fun. Let the kids play outback and explore. Played some ping pong and pool. The staff was great. It felt like a cozy backyard bbq more than a restaurant and in this day and age that’s rare. 10/10 recommend
We went here during the heatwave, just a warning there is no air conditioning. The food was good but service could have been better. Ordered some drinks and it took forever, must have been when they were short staffed. The place has a history with huge wooden beams that was once a Pier. I recommend going and trying yourself, just not during a heatwave!
I love this place. We have had 2 Holiday Parties here and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Arrived for walk in lunch on Wednesday. The restaurant was rustic and lodge like with a nice atmosphere. The waiter was very attentive and provided courteous service. The chicken parmesan was the lunch special. Served with spaghetti, it was a good pairing and served in a bowl with a plentiful portion. The chicken breast was a bit dry and tougher than normally expected but the flavor was good. The seating booth had torn and taped seats. The tape came loose and adhered to my friend's trousers leaving them sticky. The dry chicken and worn seating are why the ratings weren't higher. The price was about right for the meal.
When I experience a restaurant or bar I always find room for improvement. Here the help is nice, the foods good, the atmosphere is good, but I don't find it warm and fuzzy. The restaurant has a fireplace, which is a huge bonus and the restroom is fine, but I leave the bar feeling down. I've been 4 times and the last two I tell myself I might not come back. Not sure what it is, maybe the lack of visual management. I'm sure the regulars are content. There is an art to building a following and most establishments don't really get it.
Food was in-between a 3 and a 4.. I tried the ribeye. I asked for medium rare. Got more rare than medium. If you want it between pink and red then ask for medium
This is the 1st time have been here in years. Fish and chips was really good, not greasy or not too much fry. Very light and filling. My dad had the burger and he added everything to it. I can not beleive he tore through that thing like it was nothing. At first glance my question was, how you going to attack that thing?!
Happy to see this historic building up and running again. Food and service is great. Interior is comfortable, not too cold like most restaurants, spacious and well ventilated. Large group? Still spacious. Outside firepits, games, swings... Lots of options for entertainment during happy hour or lunch office team bonding events or holiday parties. The filet minon was tender, juicy, and the rub tastes amazing, but needs to come way down on the salt (🤔 Perhaps they forgot to rinse it before adding the rub, but hey, it's a new place, so it will take a bit to get everything perfectly right. I'll still try it again next time.). Bread and butter, extra water on the table for easy refills, good appetizers, clean restrooms, wine by the glass... Really going to struggle to find much wrong with this place. Give them a try. Bring your pops and the kids.
This is a nice place for lunch. The food is excellent, but the decor is a little dated. It’s interesting that is situated right beside a 76 gas station. But the tri-tip sandwich and the three meat burger were excellent. The food was wonderful. The service was terrific as well.
I was looking for a unique place to have lunch. Being new I searched and discovered Timbers Roadhouse. This place has history dating back to WW II! Food was great and service was fantastic! And the outdoor seating area was next to a huge play area for the whole family!!
I'm so glad to have the Timbers back open! It is a large property and would be great to have parties in. The food is very good although some items are better than others. The oxtail mac and cheese is like nothing I've had before! It's definitely a must-try! My wife had the tri-tip sandwich and it was very very good. Not quite sure about the Bloody Mary I got, it had citrus pulp at the bottom and had a very citrusy taste, definitely not a classic Bloody Mary. Overall, I definitely will try this again and get the oxtail mac n cheese.
Update 8/16/22. Good lunch on their outside patio. Salad and chicken sandwich we're both excellent. Cool place, great atmosphere. Food was ok, not great. Beef rib (yes, 1) was underwhelming, especially for the price. Small portion and a combination of overcooked and too fatty meant we didn't get much. Not what the server described and recommended to us. But we'll be back to try some of the other options.
Quieter restaurant with cozy atmosphere & great service. The building is constructed from repurposed beams from an oil Derrick. It has a lot of history & character. I would call this restaurant an old school regional classic. The menu offers a wide selection of surf, turf & vegetarian. Service is very prompt and professional. After visiting several area restaurants with loud drunk people and/or loud children, the more sedate atmosphere of the Timbers was a welcome reprieve. Rice pilaf has curry, which is good to know if you are like me and do not enjoy curry. Halibut was a bit dry. Vegetable lasagna is huge. I barely made a dent in mine. There are no noodles in this lasagna, which is layered with eggplant slices. The food was pretty good, but did not match the atmosphere or the prices.

Timbers likely carries a lot of nostalgia for long time Goleta / UCSB community members. But the food and service were "just ok". Each dish was fine, but left me thinking: "at this price, I can get this same dish prepared better somewhere else in town." I kept looking for something so tasty and wonderful that it would be the reason to come back. But I didn't find it on our plates, or see it on anyone else's. The service was also "just ok" or maybe a little less than ok. My husband and I typically get one appetizer and one main dish and then share, because otherwise the portions are just too big, particularly if we want to save room for dessert. Normally this isn't a problem; but our server seemed to give us some serious attitude about it. She scrunched up her face and said: "I don't think that's going to be enough food for you." I smiled and said: "thanks, but I think we'll be fine.' Reader: it was **plenty** of food. 12 oz of tri tip is plenty for two people, especially two folks that are trying not to gain weight. But from that point on, every time our server spoke to us, it seemed as if she was barely concealing her disappoinment in us as customers and as human beings. It actually started to get funny because it was so absurd.
Ordered duck leg cofit in a red wine reduction. Came with a white cream sauce. Duck was prepared well. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant. Everything came out minutes after ordering....can we say microwave. Finished with a molten lava cake that was just horrible. Costco sells better. Don't waste your time or money here.
We arrived for a 6pm reservation, but we're not served until 7:50pm, we had a toddler with us who was very upset waiting for so long, it seemed there was only 3 waiters available for a full house. That being said, that food was delicious, just an insane wait for everything.
We had an event there last night for 70+ people there yesterday. Buffet style. Very nice place and spacious but the food was okay: salad was fresh, grilled chicken was dried and chewy, tri-tip was chewy and only tasted the sauce rather than the meat. The meat was cold by the time we reached our table.
The burger was delicious as was the chicken sandwich. The French dip was okay. I would also recommend the pretzel was large and yummy.
Our server was a sweetheart, very experienced-- the prime rib look delicious, but was a little on the cold side, it could have been warmer! they make a old-fashioned popover with the prime rib but it was tents and not very good because they should be light and puffy. I would give them a second try because it is not too bad and very friendly service
First time eating here since it reopened. Great parking. Super nice staff. Lots of room, TVs. games outside to play with the family. The food was just ok. Both meals were dry. Dinner for two was $60, one sandwich and one half rack of ribs. Menu can be hard to read because of font. It sounds silly, but when struggle to read it, it can be frustrating. We will 100% retry it and hope for better food outcome. Also, diet coke had no carbonation. That part was rough on me. $3 for a flat diet coke.
Chill vibes but Still feels kinda fancy, nice environment feels and looks nice, service was good, very attentive servers etc However for how much hype this palace seems to get I wasn't really impressed with the drinks or happy hour menu or appetizer regular menu in general. I had a Titos vodka lemonade and couldn't even taste any liquor then had the happy hour margarita to switch it up and again didnt see much difference and kind of had a raisen-y aftertaste? Not sure what that was. The 2 tacos you got were literally sooo tiny they def shouldn't be $3 each maybe like $1.50? Or add two more on for the price they had. Also my prime rib soup of the day was a little too oily and the chunks of meat were literally the size of cat food. I'm sure dinner menu might be better I was coming only for drinks and appetizers today so can't really complain too much Butttt overall experience on actual consumption was ehhhh. Hoping next time is a better experience at least in the menu department.
I really like timbers. Their bar food is good and so is the nicer side. BUT they close at 8, even on Friday and saturday!! Showed up at 7:30 one night without realizing they close so early and the hostess was confused and informed us it was closing soon. If they stayed opened later (at least on weekends) they might get more service. On weekends my husband and I go out around 7 and it always deters us away from timbers.
Lunch would earn at least a four star rating, but dinner not so much. Lunch was in the bar area which is warm and cheerful. We decided we would come for dinner, though, as we wanted the fish which is only served at dinner. Unfortunately, the fish was underdone and had to be sent back for more cooking. Once served, it was mediocre in taste and preparation. Others in my party had the steak soup which everyone loved. The bread tasted fresh. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly for lunch but not for dinner. Lunch is served in the friendly and warm bar. Dinner is served in the drafty, though pretty, main dining room. Service was very good both times. Prices were high, given the quality. I would try again, but mainly for lunch, which was very satisfactory.
Prime rib was just OK, but not what I'd order again. Brussels sprouts were good. Spinach dip was good. Mashed potatoes were good but gravy wasn't anything special. Shrimp skewers were good.
We had a great time. Are waitress was very good. Food was just ok. I would definitely come back because are waitress was stellar and the atmosphere was awesome. I wished the food was better. My son said he looked on line for dinner menu and he said there were more choices. We had come during a later lunch time.
The restaurant has lots of tables so it's easy to fit larger groups. There's a nice outside area with game tables like pool. The service staff was friendly and food was okay. The filet mignon was way too salty. Overall, I would have expected higher quality food since the food is a bit pricey. Also something to note is that there's a charge for bringing your own cake ($2 per person).
First impression: We sat inside on a hot day. Instead of air conditioning they had the doors and windows open which didn't help much. A few brave souls sat out back in a shaded section of their large outdoor area. I'm not sure how they survived. Second impression: Decent decor. Friendly staff. First impression of the menu: Ridiculously expensive. Second impression of the menu: Happy hour prices are reasonable. Food impressions: The happy hour nachos were messy but tasty, smothered in tasty chili and cheese. The chips didn't hold up though, and everything ended up pretty soggy. My sliders were pretty good, no complaints at all. Friends were satisfied with their chicken tacos, but the tomato bisque was received a "Meh" for being bland. Onion rings were well seasoned and tasty, and the giant pretzel was well received. Overall, it was okay. We mostly stuck to the happy hour menu and it wasn't bad. Nothing convinced us that their food was so incredible that we should come back and pay their regular prices. My companions thought I was being too generous with my three stars, but since I'm doing the reviewing I get to choose the stars.
Great building. Timbers were from an old pier in Santa Barbara. I took several pics of the building. I had a French dip. Just ok. Service just ok.

This restaurant is struggling, great inside decor , marginal food. Outside wasn’t clean leaves on the patio, just dirt and sand . Could have artificial turf and really made it look nice! A shame because it has potential ❤️ Servers were wonderful!!!
Had dinner there other night and I have to agree with other reviews that the food is mediocre at best. The halibut was extremely dry and the attempt at making a crust on it failed. Couldn't cut through it. Broccolini was ok, the Brussel sprouts were ok and though I didn't try the potato skins, they didn't look appetizing. Cheesecake was good and the bread pudding wasn't traditional at all, though took home and put in micro and it was much better. My Dad likes the fish and chips for lunch but I don't think I will ever go back. Owners did better when they had Woody's...food was good (BBQ). Maybe make Timbers more of a BBQ place?
Being a Goleta local, I've been there a few times. The food is ok to good depending on what you order. We have had good servers. They are a bit heavy on the cost. On 9/28/24, they decided to show their political side. I won't be visiting this restaurant again.
Waited 20 mins after being sat to get service. Food was not great at all. Worst bbq I've ever had in my life. Waiter appeared intoxicated. Waiter insisted on a tip! I waited 10 mins for the bill and 20 to get service to start with. Thats no tip sorry buddy. He blamed the other waitress! He insisted so I gave him 10 and stormed out. I will never come here again.
I and my son had a crummy steak there. We ordered Ribeye and what we got was very tough and stringy with lots of silverfat. The cut looked nothing like ribeye, more like a thin sirloin or New York at best. Taste was ok but way too tough for a Steak restaurant. Boo.

The manager and the waiter. We’re extremely nice. But the food was cold, the meat. The first dish was fatty. The second was dried out. I should have known better than to come to a Steak Place at closing time HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PLACE
I really wanted to like this place. It has the decor I like, log cabin western type place. But every thing else was a huge disappointment. We all got sandwiches. I got the pulled pork. It was barely ok, no sauce. On a pulled pork. Yes there was slaw, the meat was dry. Where was the BBQ sauce? My wife got a fried chicken sandwich. It looked gross. Was definitely frozen, and likely microwaved. They came with salad or fries. A very small amount and the nether were anything special. Probably purchased at Smart and Final. All in all, it felt like I was eating at a middle school cafeteria. I feel bad saying that though for the lunch ladies.
Our server was excellent. The food was awful... diner food at best. The outdoor area is nice but the kids area is old and outdated, scattered with junky toys and broken slides/structures.
The food made me sick. The duck i believed it was old food. Today is the next day after I went to that place. I haven't eaten all day and feel nauseous.
We came in at around 4pm on 01/12 to celebrate my birthday(party of 5). The hostess greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. She then walked off and I never saw her again. I'd understand a slow service if it was a busy evening. However, it didn't look busy, many tables were empty. Aside from us there was 2 other tables occupied at best. I am unable to give them the benefit of the doubt. Menus were on the table, however a minimum of 25 minutes passed and the waitress didn't come to take our drink order. We weren't offered a single glass of water, essentially we were ignored.
This is the worst steakhouse I have been. The outdoor place is very dirty& dusty and they did not clean the table well enough. The ketchup station on the table was in dust. The steaks- horrible. We couldn’t even finish the rib eye steaks and open sandwich with Ny steak. And we paid around $120 for a dinner we couldn’t even eat.. I don’t know where their meat comes but it is definitely no-go for us. Very disappointed.
Service was okay and the atmosphere was also okay but my family and I got HORRIBLE food poisoning from this place. For somewhere so expensive you'd think they'd give you big portions, right? The portions were super small with a steep price, not to mention how bland everything was and how it made us violently ill. Will never go back and I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE.
I ordered the Chicken Steak, no flavor whatsoever. I had better country steaks at other restaurants. My husband orders the Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. The spaghetti sauce tasted like if the cook had just opened a can of tomato sauce and added it to the pasta. I didn’t like the food. Sorry. Won’t be coming back.
