Every single time I have come to this place the food is amazing. Service impeccable. Everytime family from out of town come in this is a must stop for them.
Chilaquiles were fantastic! Service was quick and prompt once you ordered. Will definitely be coming back. Graciela and her staff were great!! Gracias!!
Food is so good. Our waitress was so attentive. This is definitely on the top of my list for fav breakfast places.
I was skeptical about coming to this place because of all the hype on TikTok. We’ve tried to come twice, but it’s always extremely busy and there is a wait of an hour to two. Let me tell you the wait is so worth it. The food is extremely good. The coffee (cafe de olla) is delicious. Other reviews are probably based on what each individual had and you can’t judge the entire menu off of one plate. My husband both and I got two different items and everything was so good, I recommend 10/10!
My husband and I stopped here one morning on a whim and we are SO glad we did! When we walked in, the atmosphere was friendly, good music playing, smiling faces from staff and customers. However, I’m extremely cold natured and when the server saw me shivering, she brought me a blanket that the restaurant has for their customers! That was before we even ordered our food! Then we got our food and it was so damn good! Our waitress was on top of everything and was extremely informative when we asked questions about the menu. The portions are HUGE, so the prices aren’t bad in the slightest. My husband and I both left with another meal’s worth of leftovers! If you get the chance to eat here, do it!
If you want Mexican breakfast this is the place to eat. They have many other great options and natural juices to pick from.
I’m a breakfast person, that’s my favorite meal of the day so you best believe I have tried all the breakfast spots there is, so please believe me when I say that this place is soooooo good! It was only my 1st time but I have ordered Huevos divorciados before and I was very impressed by the flavor. The cafe de la olla was absolutely amazing. The service was very nice, place is clean and well maintained. Will definitely be back to try more of the delicious dishes. Plus we love supporting Small businesses.
Everything was absolutely delicious, the seasoning the atmosphere, everyone is so nice, greeted with smiles, they kept making sure we were doing ok. It’s a must for traditional Mexican breakfast!!!!
What a fantastic find! You can taste the passion in the food. All the food was seasoned on point. DELISCIOSO! Portions are filling. Instead of going to any chain restaurant- come here to support family-owned! You won’t be disappointed.
We've been here multiple times and everytime I forget to write a review. This is one of my favorite spots in Grand prairie for breakfast! A lot of their items are incredibly good, from their basic eggs and pancakes, to their conchas to their wings! You can't go wrong with any items here. It's all (literally) all really good. Items tried: Casa Crepe combo - soft delicious creamy Build your own- quick simple and good! Huevos divorciados- good and crunchy enchiladas (dinner) cheesy! Enfrijoladas - omg wow and tasty Bone in wings basket - better than Wingstop Tres leches- diy (to go) Creme crepes- creamy goodness Sopapillas- hot fried pastry with ice cream! Café de oya- best coffee ever And all of it has been amazing! Definitely worth coming everytime. Oh and they have brunch like mimosa's!
The food and atmosphere was awesome. We had breakfast for our best friend birthday and yall did not disappoint.
I recently tried the Pollo Poblano Chilaquiles and overall, I was really impressed! The flavors were spot-on—perfectly tangy poblano sauce with just the right amount of spice, topped with fresh avocado, onions, cheese, and a drizzle of crema. The beans on the side were creamy and flavorful, and the bolillo bread was fresh and soft, great for soaking up the sauce. The eggs were cooked well too. My only critique would be that the plate could use a bit more chicken. The portion of shredded chicken was on the lighter side, and a bit more would have balanced the dish perfectly. Aside from that, everything was absolutely delicious, and I would definitely order it again!
What a great find! This place is easy to miss but so glad someone recommended it! We tried it for the first time less than a month ago and have already visited 3 times 😅 that really says a lot! Is a small location but definitely a home-cooked style. My husband and I both really enjoy going. The servers are always so friendly and attentive; the food is delicious! 😋 Our favorite thing so far is the chilaquiles de mole and the Cafe de Olla! It is also very reasonably priced!
I had the Chipotle Chilaquiles. I damn near licked the plate clean. Call ahead on the weekends to be on the waitlist but other than that great food and service!
First time here and I LOVED it! It’s a nice modern restaurant and the food is sooo good. Homemade style. Simply the best in town. I ordered Huevos Divorciados and they were delicious. The salsa, the potatoes, the beans, all had real good flavor. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu. Forgot to mention, the servers were nice and sweet. Excellent customer service.
The breakfast burrito was flavorful and tasty! The cafe de olla complimented the food really well. My wife had the cream enchiladas and enjoyed her meal. The salsa for the chips and salsa was amazing! The restaurant can get packed on the weekends, so there may be a bit of wait. It's definitely worth the wait!
I’m absolutely hooked with this spot because the food honestly tastes like something I’d make at home—authentic, comforting, and full of flavor. Their chilaquiles are unmatched. The tortilla chips stay perfectly crisp, the salsa de casa actually brings the heat! and I always add the side of grilled chicken. It comes with just the right portion of black beans and a little bolillo roll, so you get to indulge without going overboard. Pro tip: order a chile toreado—you can thank me later. 🌶️ And don’t skip the café de olla. 10/10. It’s perfectly spiced, already sweetened, and the best way to round out the meal.
Walking in everyone was friendly especially at the front stand, they greeted me warmly and set me up with a table within minutes. As soon as I was seated I was welcomed and immediately taken my order which made me happy that I didn’t have to wait. Everything tasted amazing and I had an enjoyable time. Please come out while they still have these delicious Valentine’s Day waffles !
If youre looking fkr tex mex.. this is not it. The food is a Veracruzana style. There was a little bit of a wait, but well worth it. I had the enfrijolados, and my bff had the chorizo and egg. I also had the pastel de elote, which was delicious. The papas were really good and fresh. Nothing reheated. Everything was made to order. It is cornbread soaked in lechera condensed milk served with ice cream. Delicious !!! Sarah, our waitress was great and the boys being... bus boys were quick to clean off the tables. Will definitely be back.
Great place for eating food with flavor. I have been to all places around the area and still come back here for better tasting food. The cooks sure got taught well. The place is a bit small so there usually is an hour wait unless you're there early.
I'm so glad I decided to dine in here as this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time! My friend and I ordered the huevos divorciados and the chilaquiles. The huevos divorciados was SO GOOD! The eggs were perfectly poached, the salsas were flavorful, and the tortillas were delightfully crispy. The potatoes could have been a little crispier, but they were still delicious. I usually don't care too much for the side of beans, but the refried beans here were incredible! The chilaquiles were also just as good. The salsa verde was incredibly flavorful. My friend opted for the scrambled eggs, which were at the perfect consistency. For dessert, we ordered the churros. They were served fresh with vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, and dulce de leche. The churros were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle. The cinnamon-sugar coating was delectable and I kept on licking it from my fingers. They were phenomenal!! Customer service was great and prices are very reasonable (especially with the current prices of eggs). I highly recommend Como en Casa and would come here again!!
I’m so happy to finally have found a restaurant that serves pozole verde de pollo and cafe de olla. Authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex. It was delicious and that salsa macha was another level of deliciousness. We ended up sharing a pumpkin pancake that was amazing! Service was on point along with the food. Highly recommend but be prepared to wait.
The restaurant was packed, but we were seated right away. Staff was friendly, and efficient. The food came promptly; it looked and tasted amazing. The chicken fried steak has an herbed breading, white gravy, eggs were cooked perfectly, with a side of toast. There was chicken inside and outside of the omlet, which came with avocado, pico, and salsa. I saw they have chicken and waffles, so I'll be back. The atmosphere is a small hole in the wall tucked in a strip mall.
Hey guys! I hope everyone is ok...this time I want share with you this new place in Grand Prairie,Tx is so nices, clean with a little bit of elegance in the admosferi that make you feel welcome to eat a home made Mexican food ....I love the presentation of the dishes, but the flavor is the Best! This time, we tried green chicken enchiladas, Green Chilaquiles, and the Phillycheese stake, and everything it was great. ❤️😋 so here is a place 10 of the 10
First off… this place was amazing. We came Saturday 2/8 and it was slammed busy, we couldn’t get a table. My wife and I came back today 2/11 and it was all worth the wait. The food, the service, the care everything. If you miss your mom’s home cook meals this is the place to visit. You will not be disappointed.
Breakfast is a serious deal for us Mexicans, it’s our big meal specially on Sundays. We came to Como En Casa with very high expectations and were not disappointed. We started with a coconut atole and a concha con nata which felt like a sweet, warm embrace. We continued the feast to break fast with mole enchiladas and Veracruz enfrijoladas. The complexity of the mole was paired with a bed of Mexican rice, they were delicious. My enfrijoladas had the perfect seasoning with a rich onion and roasted poblano salsa on top. We will be coming back really soon as these dishes are a true taste of home away from our ancestral abode.
This is our new favorite spot! It was recommended by my sisters and it did not disappoint! It’s so cute and clean inside: and the staff was wonderful! Now let’s get to the food! I had chilaquiles and they are 10/10! So good! My husband had a chicken fried steak bowl said it was really good. And the bread that came with my chilaquiles was amazing. We sampled the mimosa so yummy! Can’t wait to go back and try the pancakes and waffles! We are definitely coming back! Hope everyone gives it a go. 💜💜💜
I had finished hiking at the cedar ridge preserve and came here around brunch time for some amazing and nourishing food! There are so many great choices to decide from. The Enfrijoladas Veracruzanas is definitely the star in my opinion. The Huevos Divorciados were also a really good choice as well, giving you two different flavors with your two eggs.
Highly recommend you call ahead and get on the waiting list. We waited 15 mins to be seated, the food is always worth it and the service is usually good although our server did forget our bread today. The cafe de olla is delicious, the atole is tasty, my chicken fried chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the chilaquiles were also delicious.
Amazing! Reminded me of CA Mexican food in all the best ways. The chilequiles with the poblano sauce is 10/10. My partner had the torta and added mole and he said it was 10/10. The french fries are my favorite style lol and the pancake was fluffy. The waitress was attentive and kept our cafe de olla topped off. It was pretty busy on a Thursday morning which is unsurprising because this place is delicious. 100% going back and would eat there everyday if I could!
Came in on a holiday and they were packed. We were quoted a 20 minute wait and they call you when it’s ready. Went next door to target to browse and the wait ended up being only 10 minutes. It is a very tight space but they’re efficient. We had barely even sat down when our waitress was already taking our drink order. I ordered the cafe de olla, AMAZING. My boyfriend ordered a smoothie - and mixed all three, heads up, it is topped with whipped cream in case you want to avoid the added calories. He loved it, I can confirm it was delicious. He ordered the chicken fried chicken bowl and I ordered the chilaquiles with the red salsa. I have a pretty good spice tolerance but she said the spicy was very spicy. I was pleased with the spice level of the red. I devoured my whole plate, they were delicious. The service was quick and efficient. We were in and out in less than an hour without feeling rushed. They were extremely polite and before we even ate, we were talking about coming back because there’s so much to try!
My first time here. The food was authentic & fresh. The restaurant was clean and spacious. I'm glad they have meals with the option of no meat since I'm a vegetarian. The staff was friendly & attentive. The price for the meals are average, I spent less than $20. I plan on bringing my husband next time. 😁 Came back and was not disappointed!
The food was great, cafe de olla was delicious, just wish they offered to strain coffee while serving for the spices that go into making it. They automatically added tip at 20% for a table of 6. As a former restaurant owner chef and waiter, I tip according to service, and it was great, I would have left more. Their flautas look great I will definitely be back to try them. The smell at the door was a little funky but after sitting down smell went away.
A family favorite. Delicious recipes of Veracruz worth multiple returns to try a new dish. Friendly staff. The owner is often onsite engaging with patrons. A scratch kitchen for most items. So, some items can sell out. Grandma's hot chocolate is a must try along with the Pozole. I have liked all traditional breakfast dishes I have eaten. Weekends are packed. Be prepared to wait.
This place reminds me of my grandma's traditional dishes when we visit her. One piece of advice is that the wait for a table can take about 45 minutes to an hour, so it's best to arrive before you’re extremely hungry. Also, be prepared for the tables to be very close together—you can easily hear other people’s conversations. Overall, the food is amazing with great flavor, but the prices are on the higher side. On our third visit, my family of four spent between $170 and $200. Despite the wait and prices, I would definitely recommend going!
I have been here 2x now and both times were so amazing! The coffee is so good. Food looks and tastes authentic and upscale! I world highly recommend! My only only draw back is it is very cramped. Many tables in a smallish space but as long as i get in to that delicious food! It is better to go during the week also. You'll have to wait otherwise and it's so good people will wait! Not much of an area to wait though so you'll likely be outside. They need the bigger space! They will definitely benefit from it and be around for a very long time!
This restaurant is a STRAIGHT 5 STAR rating across the board! My girlfriend and I have been coming here for the past 4 years and have seen how it's grown. It is comforting to see that as busy as they are now the QUALITY of the food, SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE hasn't changed....honestly if anything it has gotten better! I will say that if you are planning on visiting them on the weekend expect over an hour wait (or better yet if they allow it call them up and put your name on the waiting list). Pictured below is the LAYERED ENCHILADA PLATE with chicken and green salsa and the CHILAQUILES (red and green) with ARRACHERA. Oh by the way during cold season they make a CHAMPURRADO de NUEZ which is to die for!
Como en Casa serves truly authentic Mexican food with amazing flavors. The staff is always kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for talking and relaxing. Every visit I tell myself I’ll try something new, but I always end up ordering my favorite green chilaquiles — I haven’t found any better anywhere else. Their café de olla is the best I’ve ever tried, and the desserts are great too. Highly recommended!
We came in this past Sunday for breakfast,I had the chilaquiles divorciados but I did not get a bolillo with my order , also we were not offered concha’s with our coffee which was very disappointing because I had told my husband that was their thing to give conchas ,pan dulce but I guess they stop doing that or the waiter just didn’t bring any to us . The food flavor was good .
The food was delicious. We visited on a Sunday and it was real crowded. The hostess and bus boy were very busy and attentive. However the waitress were not. I hardly saw my waitress and I even tried notifying someone else and was completely ignored. I completely get that it’s a busy time but no need to be like that with customers.
Won’t sit you if the whole party isn’t there .5/7 were there . ( one adult and baby missing) . If you have them waiting they will give up your table. Food is great , service is amazing!
The food is delicious !! Everything from the concha’s, to the cafe de olla , to the entrees . Every person that we know has visited “ Como en Casa” raves about it ! The migas are delicious , specially the green ones or the mole ones . The stacked enchiladas are also delicious ! The pan dulce “ concha’s” is soft and fresh . The only con is that I wish the space itself was a bit bigger , but all in all this place is a true 10 out of 10!!
Most of the food was good. I couldn't eat my green salsa chilaquiles because the green salsa was way too sour (think lime taste). This happens when they overcook the tomatillos. I couldn't eat it without getting a sour face. Maybe next time I'll try the red salsa. I did like the fried tortilla strip they used though. The quality is good. The rest of my meal was good. I added cesina meat toy platter and it was delicious. Cesina is a thin meat that is hard to get just right because it can get over cooked and dry really easily. The cooks here got it right 👌🏼. It was tasty, moist and tender. The breakfast potatoes were amazing. The waitress was nice but waited too long in between to check up on us. I do want to come back. It was nice and the prices were very reasonable.
We went on a Friday morning no crowd. A small hidden restaurant in Grand Prairie located in-between Target and Home Depot. What can be characterized as a better Hispanic twist of IHOP. Decent prices good food. Kids portion look small but very fulfilling. Breakfast served all day. Easily accessable and plenty of parking spaces.
This place is usually packed on weekends, so I came on a Wednesday morning. Establishment is very nice. It was very clean and our waitress was great and came around at the right time. The food was good, with a couple of standouts. Eggs were ok, pancakes were bland, in my opinion, potatoes were seasoned well, and turkey bacon had good flavor. However, the chicken fried steak was the standout, and it was delicious. It was very tender, with no tough spots, Also, the French toast was appetizing. So all in all, breakfast was great, and I would recommend this place.
First time eating here. There was a 30 minute wait which was not bad at all. Out waitress was very friendly and we waited about 30 minutes more for our food which was good for the amount of customers they had. Food was great and that cafe de olla was delicious! What I did not like was the fact that two of the waitress asked to remove our plates on multiple ocassions, when we weren't even finished with our food. We felt rushed to leave. I mean I get it, you have people waiting for a table, but rushing the ones already inside is not nice. Maybe work on that a little.
I went by today for brunch with my family and got a table for 10. We were told they don’t do reservations so we had called ahead for the table. While we were seated we were waiting for 1 more person and one of the hostess asked if she could take one of the tables we were using. She wanted to use our table to seat other people. We explained to her we were waiting on 1 more person. The lady kept talking over us and our waitress and would not listen to us. We kept repeating No for her to understand we are still using the table and we were still waiting for 1 more person. We went ahead and ordered our food and for the person who was coming. They ended up getting there right when our food was served so we needed the table. We thought it was rude of her to ask and not listen to us. Besides that the food was great and our waitress was nice and attentive.
Food is amazing, I have been here plenty of times. The service was horrible, the waiter came around after I was done and asked if I wanted a refill. I told him why would I want a refill if im done with my food, I needed a refill when I was eating but you were too busy hiding. I got up and payed and we had dessert somewhere else. Food is great, I highly recommend but the last time I was there the service has horrible.
Food looked great but it did’t taste as good as it looked. I’m satisfied with the service but a bit too expensive. Would probably consider another place to eat chilaquiles.
It was ok we came on 6/7 for breakfast. 15-20 min wait for 2 people. It's small so crowded. Everyone is pretty much sitting next to each other. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and green salsa. Unfortunately, the salsa overwhelmed the rest of the meal. Maybe ask for it on the side. The Mr ordered an omelet with regular coffee. I had water but it was tap water not that I'm picky but I ended up ordering café de la olla a Mexican type coffee and it was good. Our server did her best to keep watch on her tables. There is a plenty of staff making the small place that much more crowded.
Came in to have breakfast because a family member raved about the food but the smell inside the restaurant was overwhelming within a minute we left As soon as you walk in, it hits you like a strong sewer or drain odor makes your stomach turn It’s hard to enjoy a meal when the entire place smells this way. I honestly don’t know how people can eat here comfortably until that issue is fixed!
I really wanted to like this place but have made my decision after my second visit. This place gives me bishop arts vibes - very pretty but leaves a lot to be desired. Food quality is not great but looks appealing. ALSO $32 for steak and eggs is absurd. I recommend trying other local restaurants than this overhyped restaurant.
First time we visited was very good, waiter could have been more attentive. Second time around the bolillo was hard, meaning it was old. Chilaquiles were not as crispy as the first time and felt it is a bit over priced compared to other places. Waitress was very friendly and attentive which we loved.
Not worth your money, I don’t post negative reviews, but this was overall not good. The food was over priced $7 for an iced coffee the size of a small mason jar and $18 for 3 enchiladas in a bowl of beans. We were not greeted or told thank you for coming by staff like many restaurants have the hosts do. Instead the staff was around the host booth judgmentally looking around. We ordered something pictured on the menu and it did not look like the menu. I wanted to try this spot with my family and support a small business, but we were much better off going to first watch or even ihop.
My husband and I had been there before when it first opened as a new business and it did great. However in my 2nd visit, after raving about it to my mom, I took her for the first time today. We were sat down immediately but waited several minutes and not one wait staff attended us. Two other separate parties were seated simultaneously, and were acknowledged within a minute of being seated by waitstaff. We left and went to a different establishment where their service is superior.
Went this morning around 7:30am to take my sister to an early birthday breakfast. It was me, my sister and my brother. My brother ordered an orange juice to drink and when the waiter brought it out, there was a small piece of hair on the top of his glass!!! Right on the rim. We notified the waiter and asked for a new cup of orange juice but before he left to get another one he asked my brother if “he still wanted that glass”. If it had a piece of hair why would he still drink out of it??? We even showed him the piece of hair. It was short and curly. The waiter brought another glass and he wiped the table down with a wet towel but wiped the hair off the table with the towel then proceeded to wipe the rest of the table, INSANE!! We get our food, it was okay, then asked for the bill. I’m assuming they’re gonna comp for the OJ but of course not, I paid $8 for HAIRY JUICE!! Very dissatisfied with my service this morning. I at least thought we would’ve gotten an apology. They continued service as if this was normal….
My family and I had a birthday celebration, this place is little not for medium size family. It is expensive. Plus tips are charged twice. Check twice your ticket before paying. I was not offered more coffee. Not returning!
I really hate to leave a bad review but I had such high hopes for this place. After waiting 45 min to be seated, I ordered the steak and eggs. It was the toughest steak I’ve ever had and for $26 it was not worth it. The side of potatoes tasted weird too and the pancakes were dry somehow. The only good thing we had was the cecina that came with my husband’s chilaquiles. For a total of $120 (including tip) I’m disappointed.
The wait is always way longer than they say. If you can make it through that frustration the food is good. Several people that are not on the waitlist and you watch check in after get seated before you. Its like luck of the draw. Then if you lucky you will get sat right by the door. Other than all that the food is good.
Food doesn’t taste as good as the photos! I was very disappointed that the reviews do not match up. The place is super crowded even on a casual Thursday. The service was slow and we had to wait 25 minutes for our check, we ended up talking to the table next to us because they were so close and could hear our conversation. The food looks very good but it doesn’t have any flavor, you need to smear it with salsa to have some. On top of that, it’s extremely expensive! My plate was $18 while my moms was $12. Then you add the drinks and dessert, it adds up to $70 for two people with tip. There’s way better restaurants than this at a lower cost! And even better ones at this price point. I don’t recommend this place at all!
