This is an excellent local hangout. Food ranges from acceptably good to excellent depending on the dish/day. I love this type of spot. It's a no frills family-friendly hangout that is inviting, not trendy. Breakfast was stellar the last time I visited, though dinner is good, too.

My gut feel when finding Scotty's on the Strand on Google maps was right! I was recently in the UK and needed a good comparison for Fish and Chips in the US. And the winner? . . . . . . Scotty's on the Strand. The fish was tender, cooked just right. Hot and fresh from the kitchen. Now the chips aren't official British chips, but the fries were well cooked and golden brown with no sign of oil. Alexandra did a great job with customer service, checking in and making suggestions. . . . . . And the view!!!!! What a great way to top off the afternoon.

Simple breakfast choices and fresh ingredients. I had the "Greek to Me" omelet with potatoes. The omelet was light and fluffy, with great flavor. And, the potatoes, hardy slices fried crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The seating and view of the beach and ocean tops it all off.

Arrived before the brunch crowd, our server was amazing, provided some recommendations since it was our first time here, good was really good, got Huevos rancheros, did not disappoint, my wife got the chilaquiles, we finished with the blue berry pancakes. Recommended.

Scotty's offers fabulous service and delicious food! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Scotty's in Hermosa Beach with a large group and we had an excellent dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Despite our large party size, we never had to wait long for anything. Our server was constantly checking on us, keeping our drinks refilled, and ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was also phenomenal. Everything we ordered from the diverse menu had bold, fresh flavors. I tried the California omelette which was packed with avocado, bacon, jack and cheddar cheese. It was fluffy and delicious. Others in my group raved about the huevos rancheros and the Patty melt loaded with sautéed onions and melted cheese. All of our meals were expertly cooked and perfectly seasoned. From the friendly staff to the incredible food, Scotty's in Hermosa Beach really impressed our entire group. I would highly recommend it to anyone in search of stellar service and cuisine in a vibrant beach community environment. This is one HB spot that truly earns its 5 stars!

Scotty’s doesn’t really need a review, this is a local icon and a known establishment on the Strand. Of all the restaurants on Pier Ave and the Stand, Scotty’s has been consistently awesome quality and service (even on crazy holidays), every time we go. I’ve never been disappointed here. 👍

Scotty’s is a classic, and a landmark of the Hermosa Beach strand. My family stays at the Sea Sprite Motel right next-door, and this place has been a favorite of ours for years. The staff is always friendly, the food is pretty basic - but good. They are slammed during summer months, but my favorite time to come is in the wee hours of the morning for endless hot coffee, good hot breakfast, and just staring out at the beach. Today I’m here on a business trip and I brought my computer with me. It’s the beginning of December so the beach goers today are presumably all locals - and the people watching is pretty amazing. I highly recommend for a cozy and consistently good, diner-on-the-strand experience!

California diner food and atmosphere. Clean though dated décor; California diner food; huge portions; no reservations needed. Food was a mixed bag. Fish tacos and slaw were very good. Patty melt was on excellent rye bread, but the burger was overdone and the cheese was processed cheese food, not true American.

The local favorite place for a comfortable and tasty breakfast! Tucked right on the shore, in view of the pier, this place is a gem. The food is delicious, and the coffee refreshing! A great place for family and friends!

Good place with view to the beach. Food is good, coffee ☕ great. My wife loves chilaquiles and that's nice. Free Parking space in front of the restaurant. Enjoy your visit.

Food here is very average. Fruits were tasty as well as french fries and burger but omelets and eggs benedict/florentine are not good, I wouldn’t recommend ordering those. You can see the ocean from inside which is good and this place is crowded and a bit loud. Waitresses are very nice. This restaurant is ok to try once and see if you find something tasty for yourself but I will not eat here anymore

I'm sure some of their other food is decent, but I ordered Tony's Special and it was far from special. To put it plainly, it's an embarrassment to the restaurant that they charge money for this dish. It consists of probably microwaved sausage patties, potatoes, eggs, a slice of American cheese, and salsa ("Spanish sauce"). Service and overall atmosphere was fine but I wound up just paying and leaving to find a better brunch.

Not impressed! This place has such a great location, it should be way better! The food was below average! The biscuits tasted stale! The service was below average! It seemed like the staff hated their job, and maybe they did! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I hate giving negative reviews and hopefully this was just one bad experience, but it was enough for me to not give them a Second shot! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Bright spot…..views where good and the coffee was awesome, when i could get refills! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

This place has cockroaches the waitresses are rude inattentive and slow . I overheard the owner and the way he speaks to his staff. He was very rude unprofessional and degrading . It was very sad to hear and in front of other tables. It made me not want to support a place that treats its staff so poorly . I tried to tell the manager but he was just the same . The food was mediocre I think I prefffer Denny’s . The only up about this place is a view which u ca get at Hennessy’s next door

Worst place ever, the pico de gallo was rotten, the cucumbers in the salad were slimy, no joke, there was a hair in the flour tortillas and the chicken fajitas were so salty , they didn’t give us napkins for the food we wanted to spit out 😩🤢 and we didn’t even get a discount, I don’t recommend this place. At least the hostess and the server were kind girls. The management needs to be careful and get rid of the food that is not good to sell, what I think is they use the leftovers from the weekend, I guess they don’t want to waste anything but if you want the customers to have a good experience and come back , everything must be fresh.
