Fantastic place to come to eat, great atmosphere and the food doesn't disappoint. Carlos the manager looks after you very well and the staff are very friendly. Definitely will be coming back and will become a regular place to visit.

A big thank you to Carlos, and staff for hosting our Birthday lunch in the private dining room on Sunday. The room was attractively presented, staff amazing, nothing was too much trouble, great value, the food was absolutely delicious, great quality and despite there being 30 of us, it arrived not only hot but beautifully presented. It’s got to be our go to venue for all family celebrations. We will be back, Thank you.

My dish of mixed fish was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Service could have been a little more attentive, as we had to ask twice for our drink and, later, coffee. But all in all a really pleasant lunch. I shall be back!

Had dinner this evening in the garden area and what a lovely experience. Waiters (Dillon and his colleague) were great, super attentive and friendly, great service. Food was lovely and Stephen Barry the magician was great. Would gladly return again, thank you for a lovely evening

First visit to Judges with friends. Massive menu choice which did concern as would the chefs be able to ensure the quality was maintained for all dishes. They did. All our meals were excellent, delivered together and within a reasonable amount of time. To add extra to the evening a magician was performing close up magic at tables. He was brilliant but I'm a great fan of this type of entertainment. Had a lovely evening will definitely go back. The only slight negative is the parking. There's not nearly enough room in the car park for such a large restaurant

We held a baby shower lunch here today for a large group. We had our own room with outdoor area. I have to say it was a fabulous visit, service and food were of the highest quality. Giuseppe looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone in our party had a wonderful time. Thankyou for helping to make this happy day so special!

Had delicious lunch with friend today.Giant King Prawns garlic chili sauce,medallions of fillet steak pepper sauce.Hot plates hit food cooked to perfection.

Wow, wow, wow, just enjoyed a party to celebrate an eighteenth birthday at Judges. Wonderful staff who were all courteous, helpful and enhanced the whole experience. All the food was amazing from starters through to main courses, served quickly too. Magician was an added bonus, he included everyone of our large party, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you so much one and all for making it such special occasion. ⭐️

Very friendly and amusing staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere was great, very welcoming. The service was very attentive and efficient. We had a table of 11 and the food was perfect for everyone, we had children from age of 6 to 11years with adults from all ages 35 to over pension age. Highly recommend, not cheap but very much worth it.

Lovely birthday meal with friends. Although we'd booked we were offered a choice of tables. Outside dining in the early evening was just right. Food was delicious. Recommended.

Been to Judges a few times both in the day and in the evening. Each time the food, atmosphere and service were top notch. This is a gem of a place both day and night. Would 100% recommend

Great value fixed 2 course lunch at £22 (not every day) but for an extra £6 you can get an 10oz sirloin. Good a la carte menu. Very relaxed atmosphere.

This restaurant was recommended to a family member as a place to meet midway between our homes. The four of us had not been before and all we knew was the name and location. We selected a mid week lunch and found the menu provided a large choice. The service was unobtrusive as we caught up with all the family news. We all chose from the lunchtime menu. The two courses were enjoyed and unusually for a lunchtime, we all had a third course. The wine ordered by the glass enabled each to match the food selected. Having white table linen, side plates with bread to start, it was obvious this was going to be a place to take our time and see the occasion as something special. The wine glasses are perfect allowing the table to look elegant. Two hours passed quickly and the decision was made to make this a venue for our next lunchtime together.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday. Initially worried by-main restaurant no longer there ,.some issues with local Council the Maitre De was impeccable , said service still the same. I can vouch for his words..food delicious service outstanding. Was a very pleasant lunch.can’t wait to see just what is planned for space. Will be visiting soon.wB

While the food was particularly good for buffet food the head waiter put a damper on everything by being extremely rude not only to myself but also his colleagues. He stomped around swearing under his breath and looked agitated. Other than that it was a lovely little pub, perfect for hosting functions such as baby showers, christenings etc and the other staff were really pleasant and polite.

The food is delicious, I've been here a few times for lunch and the menu has great options and the food is always hot and fresh. Great fish! Lovely staff as well. Would love to come back just for drinks as they have a great looking cocktail bar.

Having never been there before was most surprised they allowed dogs. On a very warm afternoon they found a cool area for the 3 adults in our group to sit. There waa a goid selection of food on the menu. We opted for the Sunday roast, would recommend it as nice place to have lunch in or out of sun.

Average food, ok for a quick stop if you’re hungry - any port in a storm. The risotto was more of a paella which was disappointing. The Sunday roasts look great though.

The place was recommended by a friend so we decided to go. The food was very well presented and tasted amazing. 3 stars is for the service. A gentleman in a blue shirt, seemed to be the manager...was just yelling at all the staff. He came to our table and not even a smile and we felt very rushed. Not one single waiter came to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. I guess they just wanted our table back. Such a shame as the food was excellent and the service below average.

The location is fine, not impressed with the food though given the prices they charge there. We ordered the king prawns and the sauce needs a bit more personality. The waiters are impatient, trying to get your food order even before you have the first drinks brought over to your table. All in all it's not bad, but nothing to write home about.

Third visit to Judges Northaw but disappointed on this occasion. Food was not up to standard. Ordered from Lunch menu with side order of scallops (good). Portions were small, that's OK but my husband's fish was over cooked and my son's steak ordered rare came medium. This was replaced but by then we had finished our mains. Disappointed as it was a birthday lunch. Setting is lovely. Service was slow but pleasant.

The service was moody and abrupt, foodwise the portions were slightly on the mean side, taste and quality was nothing special and the atmosphere was nothing to write home about we've had much better for less. We found it to be overpriced for what is was. The fake flowers on the walls were a bit tacky and dusty which didn't help their cause the whole was a bit kervan-esque side.

Very poor experience- our starters took an hour to come and when we asked “why?” we were told “there’s a big party ahead of you, besides which you got bread didn’t you?” The food itself was very very average- the £23 cheese burger was over cooked and had the texture of coming straight of a catering pack. One of group had chicken wings- See picture - truly awful evening for just under £100 couple with 1 drink each

One of the most disappointing venue experiences I’ve had – avoid if you’re planning anything special Judges was booked for a friend’s 60th and it turned out to be a huge mistake. First, if you’re planning a party, don’t even bother. The family was assured they could play music, only to find out the speakers in the private hire area are directly linked to the restaurant. Unsurprisingly, diners complained, the music was cut, and we were left in near silence. What kind of venue offers private hire without separate speakers? It completely killed the atmosphere of what should have been a joyful night. Second, the food was underwhelming and forgettable. This is supposed to be a restaurant, food is literally what they do, yet nothing stood out, nothing impressed, and the quality simply didn’t match the reputation or the prices. Third, the drinks. £4 for a tiny bottle of Coke? Ridiculous. When the food doesn’t deliver, and you’re fleeced for the drinks, it leaves a bad taste in more ways than one. Service was possibly the worst element. Most of the staff looked miserable, uninterested, and unwilling to engage. They abandoned one hardworking lady who was left to do everything herself, and she was the only person who shone that evening. Everyone else seemed to have checked out. But the absolute low point came when the staff began arguing with the family and then decided to end the party early. Imagine inviting friends and family, paying good money, only to have the night cut short by staff who clearly don’t understand hospitality. A milestone 60th birthday ruined. I understand the manager who had liaised with the family in the lead-up was apparently excellent and supportive, but sadly was not on duty that night. The lack of consistency across the team is glaring. In short, Judges completely failed to deliver on every front: atmosphere, food, service, and respect for their guests. What should have been a memorable celebration turned into a catalogue of disappointments. I won’t be returning, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking. There are plenty of places where your custom is valued and your celebrations respected. Judges is not one of them.

Very disappointing visit, having visited the Barnet Branch and was very pleased with the service, I decided to visit Northaw. The service were worlds apart. Upon entering, there wasn’t an host at the desk, we were beckoned by a very rude waiter who didn’t even have the courtesy to say good evening. I was told to follow him to our table, which must have been the worse table in the restaurant(it was freezing as the window was unable to fully shut) The waiter that served us (an older gentleman tried his best to offer a good service). The entire experience left me with a very unwelcome feeling. The host was at the desk upon exit, but gave me no eye contact or acknowledgement, my husband however was acknowledged by him. I was made to feel and was treated like the other, who didn’t belong there. This was my first visit and definitely my last. My husband is white and I’m black he noticed the way I was treated.

If you are a person of colour I highly recommend not coming here. The waiter that was serving us was rude to us and another black couple that was there. I then proceeded to watch him nicely greet every English table, even stroking a dog which is not hygienic. I’ve tried to look at everything to justify the poor service and this is want I have concluded. The waiter from the start was rude and dismissive. I don’t understand how you can have such poor customer service when people are coming to spend upwards of £80-£90. It very disgusting and disappointing. I was embarrassed to bring my partner for a celebration of a graduation to be met with wrong orders over cook starters and mediocre mains. The evening was killed from the beginning. You really need to retrain staff members to have better service skills. Never again.

First time visiting this restaurant since it reopened under a new name and owners, and as it’s local we read the reviews before booking. I wish I’d scrolled down to read more of them as there are lots of negative reviews that are subsumed by some good ones that include some allegedly submitted by staff - 1 review claims the manager directly as the author! Our experience was pretty dire. First impressions are of a naff looking gin palace. If you like sitting in an environment that is trying to look like a cheap hairdresser’s boudoir then this is the place; from plastic flowers strewn into mock trellis on the walls to diamanté studded bar, velour seats and mirrored accessories, the place is full of glittery ‘stuff’ probably useful to distract from the haphazard waiters. The menu isn’t cheap, and compared to other restaurants in Brookmans Park and Hertford this is pricey. The food was poor; Bread was brought with butter and olive oil in a chipped dish. My main was Roast rib of beef, half of my beef portion which wasn’t big anyway, was fat and gristle. The vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were good though. When I complained about the beef I was told ‘you ordered yours rare, so that’s what you get when it’s done rare, plenty of fat’! My friend’s meal was of a better quality; she had the lamb shank, and a pudding which she was happy with. When the bill was brought to us we’d been overcharged, so asked for a revised bill, and when that was brought to us the manager whisked it away and deducted a further discount from it to make up for our experience. I won’t be visiting this place again. They can’t even take the trouble to check the spelling and grammar on their printed menu - says it all really.

I wouldn’t recommend going as a person of colour, just like the other person who made a comment on the same problem. The servers were so rude. They kept charging us more for the drinks, despite us literally having the drink list and price right in front of us. Because of their disgusting attitude we decided to take off the service charge. Why pay a service charge for horrible service? I took pictures on my Polaroid camera and left FIVE pictures on the table. While the table was left unattended, two of my pictures went missing. The servers deliberately threw 2 of the pictures in the bin and claimed they knew nothing about it. They even tried to conceal it further in the bin after we asked about it. Gratefully there was one mature member of staff who must have witnessed their behaviour and decided to retrieve the pictures from the bin. After they were found we saw the culprit and the MANAGER sniggering. Don’t bother booking this place unless you like overcharged drinks, disrespectful servers and a horrible night!
