Opinions de Blue Tile Coffee Houston
2nd visit - Their coffee tastes as good as it look. This my new fav coffee spot in Houston. Service and atmosphere have improved greatly. I ordered my double vanilla oat milk flat white and it was divine. Here is some info on the espresso: Espresso - Mild Medium; Locally Roasted (Best Roaster in SE Texas) Taste - Creamy and smooth with no bitterness or aftertaste Note - Toasty, Nutty, Buttery + and hint of smokiness Crema - Glistening Please note it is adjacent to a busy HEB so keep that in mind. Plenty of parking in garage as well. When I come to Blue Tile, I’ve completed my grocery shopping and I’m not, not going to get my vanilla oat latte or flat white and enjoy whether I sip while there or get it to go. 1st visit - This place serves delicious medium roasted coffee; espresso with a top notch roaster I’m very familiar with. The customer service was a little off putting but the lady making the drinks when my husband and I were there, she was nice. The atmosphere was stiff and not inviting I also feel like latte art because I enjoy taking pictures and posting online to free promote businesses but this is not that big a deal. Would I come back, maybe….but as a native I know where to find good espresso in Houston along with service. I would come back for the coffee but not for the service.
This is a lovely coffee shop! They have plenty of seating to sit and enjoy a coffee or pastry. I visited a few times and really enjoyed my coffee every time. The matcha latte and Viet coffee are both wonderful. The breakfast sandwiches are great, I especially enjoyed the egg white spinach feta sandwich.
A Perfect Coffee Spot for a Quick Stop or a Slow Morning Blue Tile Coffee was a great find—ideal for grabbing something on the go, but also a cozy spot if you want to linger. It was our first time visiting, and we tried the cold brew (super smooth and mellow—a perfect intro to cold brew!) and the iced flat white, which had a well-balanced flavor that played nicely with the milk, yet remained strong. The space itself is airy and bright, with inviting shaded corners if you’re looking for something more low-key. The colors are calming, and the music hits just the right vibe for a coffee shop. Bonus: it’s tucked right next to HEB, Spotts Park, the Bayou, and downtown—making it an easy, breezy stop during a day out.
A very cute coffee shop! Their quiche was delicious and the portion was overly generous. I had a lovely flat white. The space is open and light, and great place for conversation.
This is my absolute go-to for coffee and my morning croissant or breakfast tacos! Everything is so fresh and incredibly tasty! I come here several times a week and it’s fantastic every time! The service is top notch and it’s such a beautiful spot! The patio is perfect for the nice weather days here in Houston! If you’re looking for your next favorite local coffee spot, look no further!
Loved this spot. It’s still in soft opening, but they still had enough options to satisfy. The house blend drip was delicious, and the pumpkin pie croissant was perfect. The caramel latte was also really good. The decor is super clean and minimal, and even on a rainy, gray day, it felt bright and welcoming. The photos on the wall were such an artful touch. 🤌 can’t wait to go back. It sure doesn’t hurt that they’re connected to one of the coolest HEBs in town either!
Stopped by the HEB and came here because we were a little thirsty. Got black iced tea (receipt said Earl Grey) and drip coffee. Tea was really good, with a great flavor. Coffee was also good. Atmosphere was comfortable and cozy. Service was fast and friendly. Convenient access to the HEB next door.
The experience is amazing and utterly chill when studying and working with a nice cup of matcha latte on the side. 🍵 The drinks are tasty and atmosphere is on top with a nice look outside giving that ultimate cafe vibe! Truly one of the best looking cafes you would totally want to visit sometime 👌🏼
So happy that I have quick access to Blue Tile Coffee. Here's the scoop: Location: It's on the bottom corner of the HEB at Heights, the apartment side which means parking is difficult on the street. However, it's simple and accessible to park in the garage and come down to the bottom level. Coffee: Absolutely amazing. It's sourced from Amaya Coffee roasters which is a solid bean. The owner and the barista are one which means that not only is the coffee top notch every time but the service runs smoothly because he's there working. From what I can tell, he's serious about Coffee, kind to staff, and warm to customers. I've had the chai tea as well as the Viet Coffee, both delightful. The woman behind the counter was kind enough to let me sample the Viet coffee when I was concerned about it being overly sweet as they normally are. I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly balanced it was! Perfect in my humble opinion. Pastries: It is quite dangerous that I live close to these pastries. I believe they get them from Madame Moiselle, an authentic French bakery to die for. I've had the mochi muffin and the ham & cheese croissant, but addicting as they are well-balanced in flavor. The textures were spot on. I'm likely going to try everything at some point so look for me at the running loop to cancel it out. Atmosphere: The first time I went it, it was packed. Full house. The music was a bit loud that day and with the acoustics and people it was a bit much. Today when I went it was less busy, the music was soft and it was actually perfect for working/studying. I guarantee the apartments make it extra busy after 5 along with the grocery store. The decor is calming and simple. Which I appreciate. It's not trying to be anything other than a good coffee shop. From what I understand there are deep ties to Houston culture in the decor so perhaps a great question for the owner on a less busy day. Accessibility: There are ramps and accessible parking right by the coffee shop and access in the parking garage as mentioned earlier. The countertops are low and there are plenty of seating options and roll-up options. I will say the website is not fully accessible yet but hoping to see that change the more established they become. 10 out of 10, recommend. Happy to see them here.
Had been wanting to check out this coffee shop. Came in and bought an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good. Although I thought it was a bit small for the price. Next time I'll try other drinks. And it looks like they have good breakfast food. I like the layout and how it is decorated. There's a lot of room inside and it's nice and quiet. (Aug. 7)
Vibe- This is a nice coffee shop that’s fairly new off of Washington Avenue. It sits next to a HEB. There’s about 6 tables outside and about 7 tables inside. There’s also 2 bar areas and a couch and a few seats (near the couch) to sit at as well! Customer service- It was ok. Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte to start my visit and ended my visit with a hot chai tea latte, they were both delicious. Parking- So there are spots (about 10) right outside of the shop (parallel parking) on the side near the apartments across the way. There’s also a garage next to the shop that you can consider parking in :)
Service was great and it's a really nice clean place. Location is perfect since it's next to HEB. Coffe was ok. Everyone was friendly and would definitely recommend. Will definitely keep getting everything I shop for groceries lol. Parking can be a hassle since it's usually full for HEB so you may have to park at the back and walk a bit.
Great coffee and friendly staff. Always start my grocery runs here
The cinnamon roll latte was sooooo good. A little loud inside but otherwise a great place.
i loved the atmosphere here ! ! the parking situation is a bit iffy but there is a garage that works right behind it. i came here to study and the atmosphere for it is perfect. it doesn’t have many outlets as far as i can tell which can be a turn off for students but still the place itself was rlly nice. the baristas were so helpful in helping me decided what to get (i got the iced matcha latte w a shot of espresso). good drink as well :D.

Came here for a quick stop running some errands during a work day. Quiet enough to take calls and very clean.
Stopped by on a weekday morning. Plenty of parking and places to sit. I loved the atmosphere and the vibe. I ordered the seasonal latte they had featured and it definitely hit the spot. What really drew me in was the name and the blue tile theme, one of my favorite characteristics of Houston history. Would love to be able to purchase Blue Tile Coffee stickers.
Lots of drink options here. Good cold brew. A bit loud while we were there, I think the high concrete walls don't buffer noise. As long as you're not trying to Zoom it's not too loud for 1 on 1 conversation. Large sitting area and HEB is next door if you need groceries. (My pic shows eclair from HEB)

This is a lovely shop with a quiet, cozy vibe. There is limited seating available and even more limited parking nearby. The decor, the friendliness of the staff, and the accessible layout and bathrooms is why I gave it a three. The chai and coffee aren't very good, unfortunately. This place is easy to miss. It is on the corner near HEB closest to Truth BBQ.

I was in last week. The barista was nice and friendly but there was another person with her who was not friendly or welcoming at all. I used to love popping in for a coffee but things are different now. I’m not sure I’ll return. Also, there were no tacos.

The place is cute, coffee is mid. But what bothered me more was that when I asked for decaf, the staff member helping me told me they could do it, then I later heard her complaining about it to her coworker after she handed me my drink. Not to mention the staff was wearing sweats, which is… interesting. I’d be curious what kind of establishment sells coffee, offers decaf then complains about it, I mean shouldn’t coffee be for everyone? Anyways, looking at the reviews now, it all makes sense 🙁 hope the owner takes this as legitimate feedback to train your baristas better, and maybe enforce better dress codes.

Food and drinks were good but one staff in particular (lady with big glasses) was extremely rude and looks like she doesn't even want to be there. I get that working sucks, but don't take it out on guests who just wants to get a cup of coffee. When I asked for the wifi password and bathroom passcode, she said in an annoyed tone: "it's on your receipt.." I did not know since it was my first time here. I won't be coming back here anymore since staff are not welcoming and look miserable. If you ever want to come here and try their coffee, good luck asking questions when that lady is servicing you!
