Ordered from their Devour Indy menu, everything was fantastic. Their lobster bisque was great. The filet was cooked beautifully and the bearnaise and lump crab were outstanding accompaniments. The carrot cake was also awesome and is enough to split amongst several people. Atmosphere was nice, and service was wonderful. Will definitely be returning in the near future.
Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse is a wonderful choice for fine dining. It’s perfect for special occasions or a romantic night out. The food was outstanding from start to finish, and the service was just as impressive. Everything about the evening felt thoughtful and well done. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both quality and atmosphere, this is a great spot to keep in mind.
The servers here were amazing. Very nice and very helpful. The food was delicious. We all had steaks, that were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The desserts were out of control. Not only were they tasty, but they were gigantic. The piece of cake that we got was an eighth of an eight-layer cake!
First timer. Took my son as part of his requested Christmas gift and received the best service and food! We had a few servers and they were all exceptional. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the filet mignon. And the crispy calamari was a great choice for a delicious appetizer! I also felt the price was very appropriate for portions!
I love it when I’m newly seated at a restaurant and the manager offers complimentary apps. It’s usually a good sign of what’s to come and it was. My party of four enjoyed our food - my medium rare filet mignon was perfect and the asparagus was delicious too. One of my table mates had the bananas foster and it was divine! Service was great! I’d return and recommend to others 😋
Trey and the staff here at Hyde Park are top notch. Perfect dinner for my wife's birthday. Atmosphere and the food was superb quality.
Chelsea and Ashley were very good servers. Food was exceptional. Filet and ribeye were fantastic as was the red velvet cake and creme brulee.
Our experience at Hyde Park was amazing. Service was great, atmosphere was comfortable for an evening with friends, and the food and cocktails were delightful. We had a group of 7 and the made arrangements for us in one of the large tables - no issues with ordering or getting food delivered quickly. Our dinner was about 90 minutes which is very fair for a restaurant of this quality and a group of our size. The food is pricey, but it’s also a high-end steakhouse and everything is made to perfection. No complaints and we’ll be back again!
Ambiance, fantastic!! Service doesn't get better than this, and I've been in the service industry for 25 years. If I could do 6 stars for service, I would! Presentation and flavor, 5 stars, easily. We did come in shortly before closing... that said, steak, for the price, wasn't cooked quite to temp, so we just asked it be thrown down a little longer. It came back a little more charred and still not quite there. Burger, apps, and all sides were delectable, however, and drinks were on point. As another reviewer pointed out, quite possible it was just a one off type of situation! Management went out of their way to make us happy, so overall, definitely worth the visit!! Thank you for the experience, we appreciate your team!
Ashley was our waitress and she was phenomenal! She was very attentive, bubbly personality, and was very knowledgeable on the menu. I got the halibut fish w/salad, and my boyfriend got 16 oz ribeye with garlic mash potatoes, and a huge piece I carrot cake! If you’re looking for a good steak or seafood, you won’t regret it. They also do live music from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
My husband and I came to celebrate our wedding anniversary (4/19) and everything was perfect the food was delicious they seated us right away ( we had reservations) I loved the card left at the table signed by the staff it was so sweet. They didn't have to but I appreciate their kindness Definitely will be back. Chef Ramon the cake was delicious thank you so much 🤗🤗
My bf and I had a wonderful experience here for his birthday! Several people including the waiter, manager and the regional manager wished him a happy birthday and we were both super appreciative of this and it made my bf's birthday that much more special. There was also a card at the table that said happy birthday and was signed by multiple employees. This is a more fancy and upscale restaurant in which we dressed accordingly. A gentleman played the piano and sang songs that most would be familiar with, it made the ambiance more enjoyable. We sat at a booth which I had requested when I made the reservations. Our waiter Howie was nice and helpful. Everything we ordered was delicious and took no time to come out. My bf loved his steak and I loved the Chilean sea bass wt the butter sauce. The sides of mashed potatoes and mushroom & spinach was wonderful. Even the cocktails were great. We finished off our meal with the largest slice of carrot cake I've ever seen in my life. It was amazing though and can definitely recommend. This place is pricey for sure but to me it was worth it for the overall experience.
This was our first time here and it was exceptional. My old fashion was presented beautifully and quite tasty. The moscato wine was on point, as well as the lemon drop. For our apps we had the lobster escargot and the shrimp sushi. For our entrees we ordered the chef’s special which was halibut, the Chilean sea bass, the NY strip, the lobster Mac and cheese, the millionaires potatoes, the Brussel sprouts. I don’t know why we ordered dessert, we were already stuffed at this point. But we ordered the fan favorite which was the colossal red velvet cake. Everything was simply divine , we look forward to returning. Our total was $400.30 the tip was $75. Very expensive,I recommend sharing. It was 3 of us.
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Hyde Park restaurant in Indianapolis. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our evening was perfect. The menu offered a delightful selection, and the dishes we ordered were prepared to perfection. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the presentation was as beautiful as it was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, making it a great place for a special occasion or a memorable night out. I can't recommend Hyde Park enough – it truly deserves five stars!
This was my first experience at Hyde Park, and we celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. The staff immediately greeted us with a smile and placed a candle on our table to make it more romantic. Our server was well versed in the cocktail menu and recommended a few options based on our likes. He also recommended the bacon appetizer. It tasted like glazed ham, which was delicious. We started our meal with the lobster bisque and Cesar salad. Our server poured chunks lobster into the soup at the table. It was silky yet full of lobster meat, I could stop eating it. The Cesar salad was the best my husband has ever had. The croutons were soft and buttery. We shared the porterhouse steak alongside mashed potatoes and broccoli. Steak was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The sides were both delicious. There was nothing about this meal we didn't like. Dessert was some of the best in the city. The carrot cake was huge. It could serve 3 people. We are already planning to go back next year for our anniversary. Heck, I want to go back as I type this. If you have a special occasion, I highly recommend this establishment.
Flaming Banana Foster desert was absolutely worth every bite. Before that the Early Dinner Special Surf and Turf was a pleasantly perfect portion and delish! Old Fashioned was good choice. Michelle took great care of us and created our first experience to be awesome. Thank you Michelle for taking care of us!
Our family had an absolutely phenomenal meal this weekend. Our server and the general manager were wonderful and so helpful and kind. The bacon appetizer and shrimp cocktail were delish. Salads, steak and lobster as well! Our son wished for pasta with marinara sauce and the menu only included buttered noodles. I’m still in awe that the general manager went out and got him marinara sauce for his pasta! Our son could have been fine with just butter, but we were all so grateful that he went out of his way on a busy Saturday night and made our son’s night! Lastly, the ginormous red velvet cake with chocolate ganache was out of this world! We will be back again the next time we visit Indianapolis!
Everything about this place was amazing! The ambience, the pianist, the food, drinks: EVERYTHING!!!! Ashley, was our waitress and she was great. We wanted for nothing, service was exceptional! Let's talk food: The Oysters - OH EM GEE Rainbow Roll - Scrumptious The Lamb Chops - Succulent Bone In Ribeye - Mouth Watering
Our dinner was incredible. Staff was personable and so friendly. The atmosphere made one whole experience even better between the romantic lighting, live music, and everything else Hyde Park had to offer. We will be returning for another amazing experience.
Absolutely delicious with exceptional service, a great finish to our Father's Day celebration. Thank you! Chilean sea bass, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, 22oz Hitchcliffe bone in ribeye, millionaire potatoes, flourless chocolate torte and the Bluemoon cocktail.
Great place for special occasions and if you just want a quality steak!!! We stared off with Fiji water and I order a few Stella beers and a black cherry bourbon and a few cosmopolitans… then we ordered 2 appetizer’s one was the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and the Crispy Calamari… I don’t eat calamari but the wagyu beef was great that was my first time having it!! Then I ordered the 12 oz filet mignon butterflied Reggie Wayne steak and a few different sides the mashed potatoes, corn, scalloped potatoes, brussel sprouts… the steak was pretty good and the sides paired well with the steak and after that we had dessert and it was the buttered cake and ice cream and it was really cool watching it burning… over all we will be back and everything was amazing the sever was really good and funny as well one of my favorite places now lol
Excellent service tonight (1/22/25) from all 3-4 servers, excellent cocktail, food, dessert, and the pianist provided a nice touch to the overall ambiance, he’s a keeper!
Anniversary dinner and felt like the red carpet was rolled out just for us! Stan is an amazing Manager and personable! He answered all of our first timer questions with a smile! D.W. was an excellent server! The cocktail shrimp was slightly overcooked but well seasoned!! The Brussel sprouts are amazing! The spinach and mushrooms were good but would be 10/10 without the stems of the spinach. My medium well steak was absolutely 10/10. Flavor, feel and presentation were superb! The onion straws was a nice touch. That chef loves his garlic. Pieces were big enough to remove. Our drinks had a neatest delivery we have ever experienced!! The white pear and an old fashion(no cherry ) is a staple for us now! The carrot cake was a tower. Sadly it wasn't moist. Great presentation and wow factor. Then we were gifted a s'mores dessert. Very rich and sweet. The live music was the perfect touch. Thank you Hyde Park we enjoyed our time at your establishment!
Came here for a company meeting. The waitress was very friendly and formal. Keeping nice conversation as she took me to the second floor for seating. Out server was very accommodating and was very attentive to our group. Always making sure we were doing good. The food was amazing. Great combination of flavors. Steak was cooked exactly how I wanted. Great experience.
JUST WOW. We have heard such great things about this place and finally was able to make the trip and see for ourselves. We were greated as soon as we walked in and the professionalism never stopped the whole evening. Greg was our main server and he was the absolute best. He was able to make suggestions and he was never "hovering", but his timing on drinks and checking on us was absolutely perfect! Brad (manager) came over to our table and greated us and was so pleasent to hold a conversation with. Overall our drinks were amazing, I would ABSOLUTELY recomend the Lobster roll!!! The Steaks were nothing short of a religious experience! Sooooooooo Good. The sides are HUGE and can easily be shared! The desserts...GOOD HEAVENS WOW! Between the Flaming Smores and the Banana Fosters....!! The atmosphere is AMAZING, the LIVE music sets the tone, the lighting is perfect, not too bright, not too dark. Overall, I am impressed beyond words and this is why I could not leave a positive review fast enough (which I almost never do). We will be back often! The Johnston's
Top notch everything here! Best downtown spot to eat or just grab cocktails. This place closed down for awhile but opened back up bigger and better then ever. Special thanks to our server Brian, you’re awesome! Food was fantastic, piano guy was killing it. Thanks Daniel Hinton, everything was amazing. ❤️ 11.13.21
Had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, nice laid back atmosphere. I had the Myles Turner steak it was buttery deliciousness, no sauce required. My wife had the Chilean sea bass. It was great as well, I only got to taste one little bite before it was gone. Sides are big enough to share we had the bacon marmalade brussel sprouts and gruyere potato gratin. If you get the crab cake, I suggest getting more than one. I didn't leave room for dessert so I will be going back to try the flaming banana foster. If I could give it more stars I would.
We were able to get last minute reservations yesterday and it was amazing!! My wife and I had reservations at McCormick & Schmick’s, however after waiting 10 minutes at the door and 10 minutes at the table without being greeted. We decided to leave and take the chance we wouldn’t get into anywhere. The night before we went to Capital Grill and they “lost” our ticket and we never got to eat. Upon arriving at Hyde Park we struck up a conversation with the gentleman greeting guests at the front door. We ending up telling him the stories of the previous two nights dinner attempts. Once seated, we began looking over the menu and while doing so, the Calamari app showed up at our table. We were confused because we hadn’t ordered any apps yet. Well it was the front door the gentleman from the front door who had sent it to the table! He walked over and introduced himself at that point as Larry Drechsler, General Manager of the restaurant! Larry said that it was the least he could do to make up for the other two terrible experiences we had the previous two nights! It was amazing just like every other aspect of the dinner! The seafood tower and Ribeye were all to die for! Literally the best steak I had ever eaten and absolutely hands down the best meal and service we had ever had. A huge shout out to Larry and his amazing staff. We are so glad we met y’all!! It was amazing!!
Rick is always great at the bar. I had pork chop, (awesome) and she had filet and lobster tails (both perfectly tender). I love the ambience and location. Staff is always very accommodating and kind. Music is hit or miss on Thursday through Sunday. Many of the performers realize they're there for background music. Others think they're there to put on a concert and it's too loud. I've recommended this place for years and will always return!
We celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary here on January 2nd and we were totally blown away with the amazing food and the staff were so amazing. By far the best service I have ever had anywhere.
Generally fantastic food. The steaks were amazing, very tender and perfectly cooked. Their bearnaise was top notch. I docked them a bit on the review bc the lobster escargot was a bit fishy, but otherwise no problems. Really enjoyed the ahi tuna. Service was very attentive w/o being intrusive which is a tough balance to find. Great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.
We had a wonderful evening and a great meal at Hyde Park tonight. It started with an exceptional server - Tony - knowledge, friendly, amazingly personal. He should teach classes. We all ordered filets. All slightly different temps. Mine arrived a little over. The kitchen corrected it and Brian came over to make sure all was copasetic. He went over and above what was needed to ensure we had a great experience. This was our first time dining at Hyde Park, it will not be our last. Go because the service is phenomenal, stay because the food is delicious, too. I highly recommend the au gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The double chopped salad was also a star - all recommendations of Tony’s. The steaks were mouth-melting and the cocktails were delicious. Many thanks to Tony (and his colleague whose name escapes me) and Brian for a great evening. We will certainly be back.
A group of us went for a first-time experience here and it DID NOT disappoint!!! Hyde Park pleasantly surprised me and took my new favorite steakhouse in the city! The manager, Brian, was fantastic and very welcoming to our group! Our server Courtney was AMAZING! This is now our new spot for celebrations moving forward!
We celebrated my daughter 16th birthday here. This place is wonderful. The food is A1 the staff is awesome and the overall experience is so pleases. Hyde Park is the crown jewel of Indianapolis in everyway. I am not being biased because it has my last name on the building...lol. Truly folks this is a great place.
Steak was beautiful and very appealing to my appetite. Portions were generous (could not finish an entree, a main and a side dish by myself. Took off one star because my main was served before I could eat my entree. Perhaps a longer gap between serving could be better
My first experience at Hyde Park Downtown Indianapolis was amazing. The restaurant had a cozy and elegant atmosphere with soft lighting and comfortable seating. I had the Chicken Milanese and Roasted Garlic Whipped Potatoes, and it was delicious. The grand finale was the Flaming Butter Cake, I enjoyed every bite. I will return.
We went here on Valentine’s weekend, and they did a great job of ensuring that our reservation was kept. While the service and atmosphere were both great, the steaks weren’t our favorite. We had the crab cakes and duroc thick cut bacon as appetizers, both of which were pretty good but not exactly the best. For entrees, we had the miles turner and a special wet aged steak - the miles turner was definitely better than the wet aged, but for the price I thought the texture of both could have been better. The fat on each piece was tough and the wet aged steak was definitely quite funky tasting. The cook on each did come out as we ordered, medium rare. For me, between the appetizers and steaks themselves, the food quality was a 3-4. But the sides were delicious, we had garlic potatoes and lobster Mac and cheese and I would highly recommend both. The drinks were also good, and they have some very rare spirits. Our server was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice - despite being valentines weekend they did a great job keeping the environment relaxed and professional. I do think in comparison to other chains like capital grille, this just wasn’t quite as good so I probably wouldn’t go back given the prices.
We truly enjoyed our visit this past weekend. Our server Shearyl was spot on and we appreciated her attentiveness . The floor manager also checked in on us which speaks of great service as well. My partner ordered the Hyde Wedge and I went for the Lobster Bisque, which was very flavorful. The 8 ounce Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and the two 4 ounce lobster tails added on were also full of flavor. The pricing was right in line with a high end steak establishment in my mind except perhaps the drinks. I thought a bit overpriced. That and unfortunately our seating location right by the bar, kitchen and restrooms made the rating only a 4 star. I am real glad we checked out Hyde Park as has definitely been on my list to visit.
This is a solid steakhouse in downtown Indy. The ambiance is exactly what you’d expect from an upscale spot, and the service was quite good. The steak prices were reasonable, and our food came out quickly. My only complaint is that we should have ordered our steaks rare instead of medium rare, as they were a bit overdone. The cuts were high quality, but the temperature didn’t quite hit the mark. When paying higher prices we expect the steak to be perfect. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a great time here. We were in town for work and got lucky with the timing, as it wasn’t too crowded before the Taylor Swift concert!
HPPS never disappoints. The food and atmosphere is always enjoyable. The seafood was seasoned well and perfectly cooked. So why not five stars…? The scallops were a little gritty and the broccoli was cold. The broccoli was replace with a hot serving but it was mushy-overcooked.
Great restaurant! I loved the atmosphere, and we were sat on the upper level which is less crowded and a little more intimate. We came to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary. Felicia was our server and was so sweet, she even took a picture for us at the end. I ordered the Steak Miller (8oz) which was unfortunately overcooked. I had asked for it to be medium and it was more so Medium Well to Well Done. They took it back and it took them about 20 minutes to bring me another plate. My poor husband saved 2 bites of his steak just so he wouldn't finish before I got my food - Haha! They brought me another steak which was medium in the middle, but the sides were pretty much well done. I didn't complain and they also comped my meal - so I was fine. Overall, I would return. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and we had a great time.
Lobster escargo was not something I would have tried but was given a recommendation to try it and it was phenomenal! We ordered a second appetizer order as soon as we finished the first after having already ordered our main meal it was that good. The wedge salad was average at best. Not our first time here and it won't be our last. Staff was above average.
The food is amazing. The atmosphere is great. Service was subpar. Felt abandoned very quickly. Server asked about drinks and we say we'll just have a water while we look at drink menu. Over 10 minutes before a separate waitress came to ask the same question. Only brought 1 of the drinks we ordered from the bar initially.
I would renovate the place and make it look modern. The bartender JT was fabulous. There was piano live performance. We had several dishes. I loved the crab tail the most. Potato and broccolini were not good at all. Steaks were okay. Not what I would expect from high end steakhouse. I can get better quality steaks from more affordable chain restaurants
We recently visited Hyde Park for a dinner with guests. The food was amazing. But we arrived for reservation at 615. We were promptly seated. We ordered diet cokes. The bottles expired January 2026 and tasted like they were expired. We went most of our meal without water refills. We waited for quite some time for anyone to come back after our main courses. Which means dirty plates sat infront us for more 15-20 minutes. I requested refills and a dessert menu. We eventually ordered dessert. Dirty plates still sitting. When the desserts were brought, they forgot to bring spoons. We waited about 30 minutes for anyone to come back for our check. I had to wave someone down which is ridiculous. It was a business dinner and I requested the check. The server gave the check to the eldest male at our table. I then placed my card. They then brought it back to the same man who was our guest. I had asked for our food that was wrapped up to go and it seemed like it had been misplaced. She eventually found it. We did not exit the restaurant until 9-915pm. It was a 3 hour dining experience that shouldn’t have been that long. Our bill was over $400 with tip and the server brought the check back without asking if we needed anything else or thanking us for dining with them. I will not be back based on service. It was extremely disappointing and embarrassing for us hosting our guests there.
I've eaten at this restaurant twice, both times for work dinners. The service is excellent. The food varies from ok to good but nothing special. The cocktails aren't very well made but they have a decent wine selection so I suggest sticking with that.
December 6th 2025 Our party of four had a 5:30 reservation and placed our simple dinner orders (burgers) at 5:45 PM with a strict 7:00 PM departure time in mind. While drinks and appetizers were fine, an hour passed with no main courses despite repeated checks with our waiter. When we escalated the issue to the manager at 6:45 PM, instead of addressing the delay, he disputed our timeline and dismissed our frustration entirely. He claimed the kitchen only received the order 23 minutes prior, an obvious falsehood. With no food in sight and no apology or compensation offered for the service failure, we walked out hungry. Appalling service and a complete failure of management.
Arrived and greeted by friendly staff, had a seat and ordered a drink. Waiter gave us the normal menu and took our drink order. We were never told about the special menu that we had to ask for and had to ask for bread as well. The old fashioned was one of the worst I’ve had. Paid $21 and came smoked with a hand full of ice and completely watered down. Insane to come to a place like this and them not have single cube options for cocktails. Decided to do the devour menu and once we said that our service at the table went way down. I was going to order a wine but the waiter didn’t bother to come back until our food was almost out so settled on a beer instead. Both steaks came out well done when we ordered medium. Waiter never came to speak with us when the food came out. So we ate them. And even once we were both done eating, he had still not come over to check on the food. Some of the worst service I’ve ever had from a steakhouse. I informed the manager and all I got back was an ok and thanks for letting me know. Our bill was still almost $200 and we always tip 20-30% but chose not to this time due to the extreme poor service we received. There are too many other amazing steakhouses in Indy that I would recommend instead of wasting your time and money to come here.
We had dinner reservations which quickly turned into a very unpleasant, unfriendly, and unprofessional experience all while standing at the host stand and never getting the chance to sit down at a table. After not being acknowledged for over 10 minutes, and instead of trying to seat us for our reservation, the host brought his manager who insisted we leave the restaurant when we were simply asking to be seated for the reservation we made days in advance. Very disappointing that a restaurant of this caliber hires individuals whose clear biases make them unqualified to work in customer service.
Me and my wife were here and the service was horrible. We asked for a Caesar salad, never received it. Asked for a dessert menu, never received it. On top of that neither server asked us if we needed or wanted another drink, besides water and the first glass of wine… we will never go back!!
