Today was not a good day here for lunch! It's been a while since I've been here & truly I have stopped eating out due to outrageous pricing. Today, I was given warm tea. Honestly, this amazes me. The server is the one who makes the drink, so unless they do it their eyes closed, there is no excuse to bring me warm tea, they can see the ice cubes melt literally as they are pouring the tea into the cup. They had just opened & the tea was still warm!! This is not rocket science! She never came back with more tea!! She didn't even add the 2 teas to our bill. They were 2.99 each, so she shorted her employer. Great place for my birthday lunch! The food was wonderful & our waitress was sweet.

I love the authentic Texas atmosphere of that place. Very friendly staff. Good portions’ size. Meat is real, not a California vegan meat. Absolutely love it. Highly recommended

Great food for a great price! We really enjoyed eating here without breaking the bank. This place is in a great location where it’s easy to get back on the road quickly. The meat pairs nicely with their homemade bbq sauce. I highly recommend the fried corn cobs! You might have to ask them to take it easy on the salt for the corn. The coleslaw was freshly made and bursting with flavor. We also had dessert. Hot homemade apple cobbler with two scoops of vanilla ice cream! We will stop here anytime we pass through!

Had lunch with the family 11-29-25. Our waitress was polite and handled our order well, with a party of 6. Food was delicious! Atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. The sweet potato fries were delightful too! They serve beer but I opted for water.

I've been here a few times before. It had been a while so I made it in tonight. Not too busy, but it is Football Friday night. Picked a table and the menus are already there. Madilyn came and got my drink order. I went with no appetizers as I was getting extra sides. I ordered the 3-meat plate with ribs add-on. Requested the sausage, sliced brisket, smoked ham, and a couple of baby back ribs. The sides were pinto beans, potato salad, hand cut fries, and Tchoupitoulas Gumbo. The wait was not too long, better than average. Presentation on the plate was nice. Check the photos. All the meats and sides were great, very tasty. I absolutely loved the hand cut fries, they were seasoned just right. The real surprise for me was the cup of Tchoupitoulas Gumbo. It was quite delicious. I'm definitely going for the larger gumbo meal next time. All kinds of cool things adorn the walls and hang from the ceiling. Above average noise with all the different conversation volumes. Very clean and lit for character (night). Marilyn and Trinity were the best tonight. They helped to make the experience enjoyable. I'll definitely be returning.

Very enjoyable experience! Great place to take a break for a meal, especially during a long drive. The ribs were perfectly cooked and very meaty. The brisket had great flavor. The sides are big portions so be ware! The service is very fast and friendly. We will stop there the next time we are in the area!

Overall, the food was okay. My wife and I really enjoyed the corn and ham and I liked the gator balls pretty well, even though they felt overpriced for what we got, but the rest of the meat, especially the ribs, were dry and bland and the fries were limp and bland, as well. The margarita I had was good, the waitstaff was friendly, but the food, which is what you're really there for, left a lot to be desired.

The only impressive part of our first time being here was ONE person actually acknowledged us. Everyone else saw and turned their heads. We ate because we were hungry and passing through, next time we will pass by. This was not the BBQ we were expecting, meat was bland. The okra was not appetizing at all! It was soft and flavorless. We will definitely wait until we get back home to the Stockyards next time! Thank you to the young man who served us! You, we appreciate.
