The food at this restaurant is vey authentic and tasty. It has a touch of Chinese flavors and also Desi flavors which makes it very pleasing to the customers. The waiters serve you on time and so noticed that they expanded the place so now there is more space.
Best Bangladeshi food I’ve had in New York! The biryani is flavorful and the service is always kind and attentive.
Always fresh and authentic food never got sick. I’ve been eating for 20 years and I trust their food more than any other Bengaladeshi restaurant. They came first on hillside then came the copycats. Everyone learned from this restaurant. Don’t rely on bad reviews just go on Thursday Friday Saturday or Sunday before 8 pm. Their taste is consistent. It’s for eating in. The haters and ungrateful people will hate and write bad reviews.
Another Bangladeshi restaurant in Jamaica. Recommended for Bangladeshi dishes, specially biryani and curries. Service is good but a bit slow. Usually, you have to wait in a queue before being served. Convenient for dine-in, take out or delivery. They sell sweets as well. Recommended for large orders for a party. Close to 169st station.
The have nice food i think everything went well tho
It is one of the best Bangladeshi restaurants in whole USA. You will find all authentic Bangladeshi dishes here. We tried Neheri, parata, Halua and roomali rooti. When I was eating, I felt I was in some restaurant in my city back in Bangladesh. Ohh and it’s very cheap. Probably it’s common in NY. I am telling cheap comparing it to the price in west coast.
This shop sell sweet and salted bakorkhani. Their roshogolla is good too. Not too sweet, just the way I like it. Update: They sweets were great but when warmed them, it gave off a curry taste, same with the bakorkhani, it tasted like curry. It’s not normal for sweets or bakorkhani to taste like curry. Wont buy it again. 👎
March 2023 Visit: Authentic Bangladeshi restaurant in the heart of Queens, NY. The Bangladeshi enclave here is famous throughout the world for its authentic interpretations of traditional Bengali culinary delicacies. I ate the loitta shutki and it was incredible, probably the best shutki I have had in North America. My brother had karahi goat, which was also delectable. Another winner was the egg pudding, made perfectly to the Bengali palate. Highly recommend, will definitely visit again when I am in NYC next. January 2024 Visit: Went here again on a layover in NYC on the way home from Costa Rica, brought my parents along this time and they absolutely loved it. We were served by Lovely, and she lived up to her name. We ate Khashi, Beef Curry, Daal, Ruti, Paratha, Cow Belly (Bhudi), and the Loitta Shutki that I had loved previously - everything tasted elite and I would absolutely revisit again when I'm in NYC.
I had a great experience dining in here, there is always servers who is ready to serve you and they treat you with kindness and care. Whenever I’m dining here I’m always having a good time eating and enjoying my meals.
IMPORTANT: Many of less favorable reviews of this excellent Bangladeshi restaurant are from people who meant to review a nearby Chinese restaurant also called Sagar. This place in truth deserves to be highly rated among Bengali restaurants in the city. We ordered two fish curries, keema gobi and dhal with a bomb mughlai paratha. Keema gobi was standout and my Bengali family told me the fish curries were very authentic - even in the region, these are typically home cooked, not served in restaurants. Pretty frustrating that @google would let incorrect reviews drag this place down. It seems busy so I doubt they care.
Food is okay but customers service is worse. All those women behavior is extremely intolerance, rude, mannerliness, no etiquette. Yak disgusting irritating. On Biryani & khala vuna no meat all those dirty thing we throw while we cook meat they put on biriyani and khala buna.
Food is pretty good for the most part. All the dishes satisfy the taste you are looking for. Just sometimes if you order the biryani it’s from then fridge and not too fresh because of that, but the biryani they offer and good. They have the best chicken biryani simple flavors and delicious and super affordable.
Haven't had their food in a while, until tonight. Forgot how good this restaurant is. We had the chicken lollipop, beef fried rice, chili chicken, spicy beef, lo mein. The most tastiest fish was the fish with vegetables. We brought the food home this time but we ate here in the past. Would definitely go there or bring their food again.
Food has gotten worse in quality with staff not caring so much about customer service. There is never order in this store, the staff is always in a rush and the customers are just the same. The restroom is horrible, please spare yourself the horror since everyone on the avenue uses the restroom. They have great snacks at times but it’s only great if you take it to go. Spare yourself from sitting inside of the restaurant as cleanliness is not their best suit.
Place needs a lot of work and plenty of potential. What can I say, for New York, it’s better then a lot of places. Food was good but not fresh(again didn’t expect much before I stepped in) They should raise the price. It’s 2021, way too affordable. They are relying on foot traffic, that being said, in that neighborhood, this is probably the best you’ll find. For those who travel outside the state of New York, know and appreciate quality food, ambience, customer service, consistency, and most Important, cleanliness. A lot of improvements needed but who am I to say, everyone’s a critic in 2021.
Recently I bought Kachhi Biryani for 6 people, honestly the Biryanis were like garbage. I Paid $ 16 per plate.I should say that do not buy their Biryani, instead buy palain rice Murg Pulao etc items. They do not know how to make Biryani. CN
I don't know what's up with all these Bengali restaurants. Once they become popular, everything drops. Service, food l, environment everything seems off.
Always rush, meaning the food is in demand and is good.
Good food but little bit crowded. Because of their food quality it's busy for a small place
We ordered 4 Kachchi biriyani, 4 Beef Tehari & 2 Haji Biriyani. Beef Tehari - beef were pretty hard; actually very hard. Haji biriyani - there were 6 pieces of meat( breakdown of those: 1 pc meat, 2 - 1 inch rib pieces and the rest just plain fat), For a $14 this is definitely not expected. Also, rice wasn't fully cooked. Second order of Haji was okay with meat but one of them had the color from the Seal and we threw that away. Other food items may be okay but I would recommend anyone to stay away from their biriyanis.
I recently visited Sagar Restaurant in NY, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The Chinese food was not authentic, and the flavors didn’t hit the mark. On top of that, the food felt overpriced for the quality. I’ve had much better quality at other places outside of here. While the service was okay, I wouldn’t recommend this spot if you’re looking for a great meal. There are definitely better options in the area for both quality and value.
Kacchi Biriyani and Faluda taste was good but the atmosphere and service providers was average. Sometimes their freshers don’t even know how to take order politely from the customer! Also lacking of cleanliness on the table and people gossip even after finishing the meal. Should be more comfortable place to enjoy food with family.
Chose this place because Doordash had a discount and they had fairly good reviews. In the end, was pretty disappointed. The pictures do it a lot more justice than it deserves. Started with the meat samosa. This is probably 1/3 of the size featured on the Doordash picture. While it's cheap, it wasn't worth. Two mains: chicken keema and curry beef. The former was a dish I hadn't had before and was pretty spicy in a way I wasn't expecting. This hit the mark. The latter, the curry beef, I got because it's apparently very recommended. Super dry and not terribly flavorful. I ordered Pulao rice but they were out so it was downgraded to white rice, which is fine. What is not fine is that it seems unconscionable for a restaurant of this cuisine to require you to order rice as a side dish. Neither of these dishes should be eaten without rice and to have to pay extra for it ($4 for the Pulao?!) is a disservice to the cuisine. We also grabbed some naan, which was the the most white bread version of naan I've ever had. Fluffy and light but entirely flavorless. The menu is strangely limited and there's truly no reason for me to explore anything else on it given this experience.
Recently we placed an online order. Unfortunately two kachi biriyanis were totally gone bad and we literally had to throw it way. The murighonto was not like murighonto, rather it was more like ‘macher matha die mug dal’. In a nutshell it didn’t meet our expectations at all. We are quite disappointed with the order.
Love their sweets. Very average food although this place used to be one of the best. Worst part is the smell of the restaurant. Every time I go in the smell is just weird.
Unfortunately in our recent home delivery order, we had hard time finding “Khir” in our “Khir Toasts” which to us used be very tasty and delicious. Due to this lacking, we didn’t get the original/authentic taste this time. I’ll appreciate if management pays attention on the quality of the items which end of the day matters to customer(s).
Food was not good at all. I tried the kichuri which was very bland which is sort of to be expected so I'll give it a pass, the beef was fishy for some reason, Their chicken sheesh kabab was the only thing that was ok. The chicken curry was also just meh. The wait was around 10+ min for cold food. Usually takeout is cold, but shouldnt have taken over 10 mins IMO. Once we got home both my wife and I were like wth, and even she mentioned this was one of the worse places we've been to where almost every food item we bought was not good.
I’m waiting for a long time. I order people just order order but not take care look good. I’m waiting for a long time. Very bad service.
I was ordered for catering food to my sister wedding. They supposed to bring the food at 10 AM to 12 PM, but they bring the food after 12:30 PM. Did not even a contact with the organiser. Also, they don’t provide main course and appetiser in The same van. None of my guest able to eat the appetiser. All the food are sour And Bad. The delivery was horrible. Also, The managers are not picking up the phone and irresponsible also unprofessional. That’s worst experience, I have in my life.
Very over rated Bengali restaurant. They lost their quality. Now it's all about quantity. Customer service is not great. Only 1 or 2 friendly employee. There are too many great restaurants like Panshi near by to waste your time here. Wouldn't recommend this place.
Today time is 2:51:11pm I am order food ( Naan & small chicken Curry) but they served chicken and beef mixed after that I was asked food server’s they told no problem, it’s very simple , so all workers unprofessional and I keep my order slips if next time I was complaint city
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. We went this morning today. And the cashier lady took our order. After sitting there for awhile I saw they have been making food and packing them for the mobile order . EVERYONE in the restaurant have been waiting for their food and no one was getting served. After waiting 40m I was getting very paranoid. Then one of the customer approached the cashier lady to ask why she’s making everyone wait for so long. And the lady started pointing her finger at him and using bad language and speaking with a very disrespectful tone to the customer. They got into an argument. The cashier lady is extremely uncultured and disrespectful towards the customers. She has no sense of respect whatsoever. After about an hour I approached her asking when she will be serving my food and she tells me it will be late and if I like I can cancel my order. AFTER WAITING SO LONG SHE TELLS EVERYONE TO CANCEL THEIR ORDER!! if you cannot serve people why didn’t you tell everyone you can’t do it?? Why take the order and make all these people wait and fill up mobile orders while everyone is waiting in the restaurant??? The custom service is horrible and the staffs are completely uneducated and rude. This is not how customer service works. They really need to change their service workers. Never going back.
1000% do not recommend. I ordered food in advance to be delivered by 11:30. At 11:50 AM the restaurant called me and told me they didn’t have the food and told me to cancel my order. They still charged me. They are unreliable and unethical. Do not order food from this venue.
Very disappointed with the quality of food. The ingredients and taste are horribler. Poor quality, aweful taste. Never ordering again.
We ordered chicken biriyani, shami kababs and chicken roast. We made an effort to drive to the restaurant for the pick up. What we got was previously frozen food, I believe, with smelly chicken. We felt cheated. We had eaten a couple of times there may be 5 years ago, and their food was really good. But they have compromised on their quality. They should realize that when you pick up your order, you don't expect previously frozen food. So beware! As for us, never again!
Worst Sagor Box ever! As a local nonprofit we didn’t expect this restaurant would fail to provide quality food and serve the community ppl. We paid full money and didn’t ask for any discount but the food that we received was not fresh and was not packaged well as we asked them to. If you want to represent our bangali community and food then please keep this service to your own family. Never doing catering from sagor again!
We ordered fish and got the absolute worse pieces, and when i tried to get refunded the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food quality has been terrible for a while now, I don’t know why people still come here
Food test is good but service is very bad & bad.
I was there like two times but the employee all the employee they don’t care about the customer one day I was on the line and after that someone coming to pay, and then I just give it to them and after that, the guy he just keep taking from the line, but he don’t take it to me from my order and I was there waiting like 30 minutes. Nobody is smart for nothing
Entering the restaurant it seemed cool at first, once it was time to order food the employees had no manners. We asked them nicely if we should sit down and order they were like no just get in line. Atleast with respect let us know you have to order in line. Ordered food they put in the oven to heat it up. The food was ok, and later throughout the day had to go to the bathroom more than 6 times. Serving old food isn’t right. What you’re spending $$$$ is for old food.
I had a catering order last year and I thought that there would be special catering van/vehicle to cater the food to Pennsylvania. However, the food was catered in the back of a car without any measures to keep the food safe and warm. A lot of the food went bad on the same day. I expected better catering service for the delivery charge that I paid. I would not recommend catering from here unless you live near the store.
Had a catering order gave us kebab that was slimy, goat meat was hard not cooked when I called, Manager said they make kebab on Monday and serve it all the way till Friday. I guess that’s what I got Monday’s old kebab on Saturday and refuse to give me my money back never catering from them again and yes definitely called department of health two people got sick food poisoning.
Before buying from the restaurant please think once. Last week i bought 3 biriyani from them. I was hurry and didn't check the food. When i checked at home i found they gave me old frozen one. I live far from the restaurant that is way i didn't returned it. After eating the food all my family member ware sick for a week. I thought we might have some virus at our home. Than recently i talked one of my friend and she said, she had same situation like us. My request there are many restaurant in Hillside who sell fresh food. Test might be little different but you can get fresh good quality food. Don't try there Frozen food. Thank you
My mom is having a birthday celebration and she called to ask if they deliver a dish, was rudely told they don’t deliver unless it’s a big order then they hung up the phone.. that’s how you treat a customer? The customer was not rude just asking a question. Let me fix it “hey sorry we don’t deliver unless it’s a big order but you can pick it up that day and we’ll do what we can to help”
Went to pick up an order for a customer and waited patiently because it was busy finally asked if the food was ready, it was because I saw the bag with the customer's name on it, to 2 employees but all they did was look at me then looked away and continued working without saying anything anything to me at all. NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!
They lie to you about their food. They put no salt in the shingara dough. I had a tiny piece of it and realized that and went to return it. The guy at the register just said “no one else complained about it”…. Like i guess im the first one? The cook softly apologized admitting they actually did forget to put salt in the dough but the owner or manager guy denied that and took the shingaras away from me so that i cant give it to anyone to taste it to prove it. So ya they lie about salt their food. What if they also serve food that fell on the floor? Out of sight out of mind lol
I recently visited Sagor Restaurant and ordered the Haji Biriyani. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I would rate the biriyani 4 out of 10. The flavors were not up to the mark, and the dish lacked the authenticity I was expecting. To make matters worse, the service was poor. The food was not served properly, and essential accompaniments like lemon and salads, which should be mandatory with biriyani, were missing. Overall, the dining experience was far from satisfactory.
I hate there food. Fish had a bed smell. Beef was so heard cooked. First time try because of the one YouTuber. Can’t trust them anymore. They provide old food to the customer. They don’t serve fresh food. All food is left over and make our stomach upset.
Food quality was average (I imagine that the quality drops with large orders; so, you will see a difference for eat-in and even small orders. But, they are definitely not equipped for large orders). Moreover, customer service was quite poor.
If I could I would have given them 0 stars. My dad take out samosa from them and after he came home he saw it's completely burnt! They didn't look at the food before giving it to their customers! Are you kidding me! It is totally unacceptable! Look at the pictures for clarification. They look greasy and disgusting
I went there today and I ordered Roti & kebab. The guy who served me the food he was touching my food without gloves. This is very very very bad for health issues. Also there is a girl works there whose name is lovely, she doesn’t know how to talk with customers. Sometimes she yells with customers. Sahar restaurant service is so so so worst then before. I wouldn’t go there anymore.
I bought 5 hajir briyani they gave me totally frozen briyani and taste like old briyani, pls anybody buy food to go pls check before leave the store ….
Worst service ever, One person taking the order and not making the order and keep taking order. He gave us our sweet after taking 13 more order on counter. When we remind him where is our order after 20 minutes, he is getting mad.
This is worse food I ate ever in my life . I order lots of food Bcz like 8 item trust me not a single item was hot each and every item taste was worse and they didn’t serve hot food for customer they serve us old food like 3/4 days ago food . Each and every person feel like sick and our one guy was vomiting instantly. Please no body come to buy food from here please.
Absolutely pathetic. I ordered goat curry through DoorDash and paid $20, only to receive 4 tiny pieces of goat that were mostly bone, drowned in a disgusting amount of oil just to make it look full. No utensils, no napkins, no plate — not even the bare minimum. For a delivery order, this is unacceptable. Total waste of money and effort. Never ordering from here again.
There’s nothing more disgraceful to the community than this place. They don’t care about you—even if you’re standing at the counter for five minutes, they’ll stay busy gossiping with coworkers. You have to speak up for yourself or you’ll be completely ignored. And when they finally give you your order, they won’t include the condiments that are supposed to come with the food—you’ll have to ask for them. On top of that, their attitude makes you feel like buying food from there was a mistake...😡😡
Worst service ever. I asked Harun dude that works behind the counter, if singaras are fresh. In a split second, Harun told it's fresh. As always restaurant lies about every food being fresh. In reality we all know it's not. Long story short, I ordered 5 singara to go. Harun got caught up in a side conversation with a "chick" behind the counter. Anyway, Harun made sure the singara was paid prior to serving. The total of 5 singara I was charged was a dollar each and five for five dollars plus tax five forty four. Got the "singara", came home, served. Was questioned by famiy member as to what are those? Referring to the singara I got from Sagar restaurant on hillside Ave. Come to find out, they were 5 kuli pitha aka sweet snack stuffed with sweet coconut filling. Grrrr... walked back to Sagar restaurant, which is a 15 minute distance walking. Asked Harun if he has singara. He says, yes how many? I gave him the 5 "singara" he gave me in a paper bag. And asked him to see what's in the bag. Harun said those are kuli pitha. I asked him if he knows the difference between singara and coconut. Harun said I asked for "coconut". We then went back and forth verbally questioning whether if can understand the difference in sound. He ignored. Got my money back & never going back. Do not deceive anyone! Specially with food! Be honest!
White rosogolla is hard and old. I never tasted our traditional sweet which tastes hard, dry. and when my son tried to Cut that with a spoon I saw that the sweet was dry, fell apart into several pieces as with a powdery texture Disgusting. Day by day they are all scamming our community That sweet shouldn’t be $10
Very Disappointed – Spoiled Sweets and No Accountability I had a terrible experience with this restaurant. I bought some sweets from them, and when I got home, I found they were clearly spoiled – had a bad smell and taste. I returned right away to let them know, but instead of accepting responsibility or offering a refund or replacement, they refused to take them back and blamed me instead. This is unacceptable customer service. Selling spoiled food is a serious issue, and not caring about customer safety or satisfaction is even worse. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone
The food was fine, but we had a very unpleasant experience with one of the staff members. A woman who was working at the counter later sat down to eat behind our table. While she was still eating at her table, she started speaking to us while we were still eating and asked if we were done. It felt like she was pressuring us to leave because one of her guests had arrived and she wanted the table cleared for them. This behavior was extremely unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. As paying customers, we expect to be treated with respect and not rushed or told to leave before finishing our meal. Her attitude left us with a very negative impression of the service.
Horrible Service – Walked Out Hungry and Frustrated I don’t usually leave reviews, but the experience my family and I had at Sagar Restaurant in Hillside was so bad, I feel obligated to warn others. We walked in hoping for a nice meal — instead, we left completely frustrated and still hungry. The staff was beyond unprofessional. No greeting, no smile, no sense of urgency. After a long wait just to place our order, they managed to mess it up twice — and not minor mistakes either. It was like they weren’t even listening. Not once did anyone apologize. The server acted like we were the problem, and there was zero effort to fix anything. After the second incorrect order, we’d had enough. We got up and left — no food, no explanation, no care from the staff. It was clear they didn’t value our time or our business. This wasn’t just bad service — it was a total lack of basic decency and professionalism. We will never go back, and I suggest you don’t bother either. There are too many good restaurants in the area to waste time on one that treats its customers this poorly.
There service very bad. Every time I place the order something is missing. This is really unexpected and unprofessional.
I don't know why Sagar has a phone when no one picks up and when they do, they either can't hear you or have no one who speaks English. They have amazing naan which is the only reason why I even try to call them to place an order for pickup. The phone situation is very frustrating!
I constantly tell them to not burn my naan. But they never listen to customers feedback. They don't take it seriously. And they work like they don't have time to hear customer requests. They just put burnt naans in my bag wrapped in foil so I won't see it until I open it. They refuse to listen to customers. And that is really bad for business.
Last few days ago, I’m coming Sagor Chinese restaurant their customer service is very bad. It’s very bad that one service man he servicing our table and he’s very rude he’s too much ego like he give it to be free food, I’m coming here and I take the food in my own money right? I’m not taking the food free so you need to service good .his name is thamim and please you need to fire him and I am not coming again and I will tell my family and friends don’t go to sagor Chinese on hillside because here have bad service
I was take one haji baryni It taste so butter and they put 20 green chilies so disgusting
Yesterday, I bought a curry from that Sagor restaurant and when I brought it home, it was not fit to eat and I had to throw it away. What could be worse than having to pay for something and throw it away?
The food was so bad that we could barely finish it. We used to love their kacchi but the quality detoriated very badly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointed by their service and quality. It’s a chaos at all times. And about their catering services, I will just post the picture of the carrier that was used to bring us food.
I recently placed an online order for eight boxes of biriyani, which included shipping and handling charges. However, when the order arrived, two boxes were missing. After several attempts to reach customer service, I finally got through and requested that the missing items be delivered the following week. To my surprise, the representative refused to resend them, despite the mistake being entirely on their end. Instead, I was told to accept a refund and place a new order—meaning I would have to pay shipping and handling fees again. This experience was incredibly frustrating and reflects very poorly on their online delivery service. Completely unacceptable customer support!!!
Way too crowded without any form of line, just people yelling at the counter. The food was also extremely oily. I also found bits of egg shells while eating the morog pulao.
Absolutely awful service for catering. Lost our order for our wedding. completely nightmare at communication. Has to be called 11 times to check on an order. Completely avoid.
Poor service. Parts of the restaurant are unavailable for seating. Waiters are not welcoming and have an attitude. Seems like they are trying to go home early. A lot of the menu items are always unavailable. Won’t go again.
Their service is extremely poor. The employees talks too much and takes forever to serve food. I don’t recommend coming here. Jackson heights Sagar Restaurant is better
A few days ago, we ordered several boxes of Haji Biryani and were disappointed to notice a clear drop in quality — especially the lack of meat compared to before. I understand that grocery prices have increased, but it appears the restaurant has raised prices while reducing key ingredients, which feels unfair. Customers are paying full price and deserve the same quality and quantity as before. Honest value is a core part of good business and faith. Please take this feedback seriously and restore the quality and standards that made Haji Biryani so popular and trusted.
SCAM ALERT! Do not buy their pre-packaged biryani platters. I purchased 2 platters of beef biryani from Sagar and got nothing but bones — not even a single piece of meat. I paid full price for beef biryanis. This is clearly being done intentionally. They’re charging full price for meat biryani and then giving customers scraps. Completely dishonest business practice. I couldn’t go all the way back, so I lost my money. If you value your money and your time, avoid this place — they clearly don’t respect their customers.
Food quality? Something you can only imagine. They use old foods, like cook once and sell it for few days. Service? Thats a word they never heard of. How could you favor a person you know and let him cut off the line? I understand that person has no manners but you’re supposed to deny them service in such cases. Totally disappointed.
Terrible service, never going back!! I placed a large order over the phone for 15 people. When I arrived to pick it up, I gave them my name and mentioned it was a big order. The woman at the counter immediately responded in a rude and loud tone, saying, “Why are you saying your name and 15 people? Tell me what you ordered.” I explained that I had called and placed the order over the phone, but instead of helping, she rolled her eyes and kept repeating that I needed to list every single item. It was a long list, and it was clear they had my name written down, yet she continued treating me like I was the problem. Her attitude was extremely disrespectful. This isn’t the first time we’ve experienced her rudeness my friend and I have ordered from here before and she’s always unpleasant. After this experience, we’re done. We will not be coming back.
I visit Sagar Restaurant in Hillside ave, Jamaica on June-05 -2025 like 5:30 pm. I take 2 chicken biryani & 1 kachi biryani, they charge me for kachi biryani $16, but they give me last night left over rice with meat not the basmati rice. It’s really unexpected to this famous restaurant. I have a proof with pictures & recipe. Very shameful.
I went for a breakfast outing with my son, and he wanted to order his favorite dish, khala bhuna. We decided to get that along with two roti, and I added a milk tea for myself. Unfortunately, the khala bhuna was a disappointment—it barely had any meat, mostly bones, sauce and the flavor was off. To make things worse, I found a piece of potato in it, which made me question whether they gave us the wrong dish, like beef with potatoes. It tasted bland and didn’t resemble the khala bhuna we were expecting. Since it was quite expensive, we both decided to try and eat it anyway. When the server came to clear the table, I asked if potatoes were supposed to be in their khala bhuna, and he seemed confused, saying no and wondering why I would find one in there, especially since he was the one who prepared it. The tea was good, though, and I used it to wash away the terrible taste of the khala bhuna. The roti was a bit dry but passable, though I remember it being much better in the past. I definitely won’t be ordering that dish again.
