Country fried steak was really good and our server Brody was constantly checking on refills and was super respectful. Manager came to check on us as well, name slips me but it was a woman with a bun she was super nice as well. Everyone in staff was incredible and food was good, great family restaurant and would definitely go again!
DJ was an absolutely wonderful server. She checked up on us, kept our drinks full, and even offered alternatives when it was discovered they were out of my wife's biscuits and gravy. The big'n'easy steak was delicious with some Creole flavor blending with a tender new York strip with some tasty shrimp. Shrimp was slightly overcooked as it was a little stiff but still tasty
The fried chicken dinner is easily enough to share between 2. Just add another side and you'll both be full.
Love Cracker Barrel! Food was great and staff was friendly 😊
My wife and I love to eat at the Cracker Barrel. I wish one was closer to us say in Boerne, Pipe Creek, or Bandera, TX.
The pot was good, but it was microwaved, it wasn't hot all the way through. The potatoes were, but the meat was warm. The side of carrots were hot. It tasted fine. But not "just out of the oven" hot,
Service is crazy good. It's cracker barrel food, no surprises there, but service is crazy good.
i had marisa as my host she was friendly she always had a smile very kinda and happy great service and fast she was very sweet i never ate there before she was very helpful on what to get
Enjoy staying with our RV overnight and having a satisfying breakfast. Lot had 3 RVs and no doubt several of whom slept in their vehicle. Was generally quiet at night and woke up to birds chirping. They have 3 spots for RVs but due to stripping of lot had us park farther back which was actually much easier altogether.
The staff is super friendly and helpful every time I'm there. I often pick up an order to go - they make it so easy and convenient. But I do like dining in sometimes, and visiting the Cracker Barrel store. It is comfort food; the fried chicken is some of the best I've had. It's definitely one of my go-to restaurants in town.
Dylan was our server he was attentive and friendly. Polite. Very well trained. Lerma came to our table to ask if we wanted to do a review.
Like most chain restraunts Cracker Barrel is always consistent in their food and service. This visit I got the "Camp Fire" Smokey Beef Brisket Breakfast. I'm usually not one to go out of my way to try somthing new, but I'm very glad I did. This dish seems like it would be over flavorful and greasy when it is in fact the opposite. It was delicious and the perfect portion. The only complaint I have about our Cracker Barrel is that they're always out of everything!
They were great. We borrowed the parking lot with our RV overnight and got to enjoy three meals with them. Dinner, breakfast and then a to-go order for the road. We really appreciate them allowing us to park overnight.
A gem after a road trip of sub par food and customer service. It surpassed all expectations with the delightful service of Monzerrat ( I hope I spelled that right) and the other employees in the gift shop! Will definitely return! The pancakes were SO GOOD!!!
The pecan pancakes were delicious and the bacon crisp!
Food is always deeelish!! Our server Rachel was very attentive and checked on us throughout our entire meal. The manager Steph was so delightful, I love to see managers that truly care about their customers. Love this location! Thank you Cracker Barrel Kerville!!!
Our second Cracker Barrel visit - first time was in Florida - and it's the same great good and service. This place was packed on a Saturday morning, so definitely a go-to favorite for the locals. They also have a merchandise store attached to the restaurant, which has really interesting stuff in there - from clothes to gifts. I'd definitely choose that store again for breakfast.
Marjorie was both attentive and answered both ours and her trainees questions with attention to detail and helped my wife find foods within her dietary restrictions. She was very on top of things and explained what and why she was doing things a certain way to her trainee and us. She also had time to chat with us about some fun facts about Cracker barrel and the Kerrville area. Highly recommend Marjorie for anyone with dietary restrictions or to travelers wanting to know about the area, give this girl a raise!
I visit Crackle Barrel at least once a week and my favorite waiter is BUCKY!! He is always so generous with his hospitality. He knows what I know before I know. If he’s not there I may leave.:-)
We had a very efficient waiter! Bucky did an excellent job! I felt comfortable because the restaurant was very clean! I enjoyed looking at the items from long ago on the walls.
We love Cracker Barrel & so glad Uncle Herchel is still on the logo. However we did notice the menu's have the new logo, boring. We love our server Rachel, she is excellent, professional & very friendly. Thank you
I have been to multiple Cracker barrels. Each has a fantastic country store with great values. Plan to spend a fair amount of time browsing. As for food, the choices are awesome. All of which are recommended. From breakfast to dinner, you'll find fresh food that is down home and generous in portions. Friendly alert. The staff is always welcoming and helpful.
We had a fantastic waitress taking care of our table of 10. The food was delicious even though it took longer than anticipated. We definitely hope there will be NO changes to our Cracker Barrel store
Steak and eggs were delicious, but the pancakes were 10/10 top notch. Hot and fresh. Cant beat it for the price.
I have been to this Cracker Barrel several times and was never as impressed as my visit today! There has been a change! New staff, better over all attention, and all are helpful. A friend had had lunch a week ago and told me they couldn't believe the change. Coming from a restaurant family and waitressing to put my self thru college I immediately noticed the amazing improvement. So refreshing to have staff that knows how to do their jobs and does it with a smile! Thank you for the wonderful lunch! Just a hint ask for Bucky he was amazing!
Delicious food! I am trying to eat healthy non fried foods. I was delighted with the trout. Our group this time was 7. Our server was so sweet. She didn't make one mistake, very efficient amd accurate. Everyone's order was exactly as they ordered. Every dish was piping hot except the salad of course....lol. We were after the initial rush of the lunch hour on a Saturday. Happy to return for healthy choices for me and many options for comfort food. 👌😊👌
I haven't been in a few years but it didnt disappoint. The food and service was wonderful and the shopping was fun
My waitress Marisa was so kind and helpful. She made my experience 10times better. She had such a friendly attitude and even made my family feel like we were apart of her own. Marisa constantly checked on us and made sure we got everything we needed/wanted. Thank you Marisa. Hope to see you again soon so we can ask for you.
Driving through Kerrville yesterday (9/18) and stop to eat. Glad I chose this restaurant. The food was good and the service was excellent. Our waitress was named Marissa and she had such a pleasant personality. She was very attentive to our needs and we had excellent service. She made us feel very welcomed.
Great time!! I enjoyed my lunch and shopping!! Great shop with all my favorite things!! A little bit of something for everyone!! I try to make this my routine stop on trips to the Hill Country!
This last time we dropped in, Mark was our server. He's such a delightful energy! Amber and Selena are ALWAYS amazing. Both so incredibly sweet and helpful all the time. It's always fun chatting it up with them! Shoutout to Kristina! You're always such a delight and stay on top of making sure we always have what we need. We eat here about once every couple of months. I get medical treatment in San Antonio and go through beautiful Kerrville on our way home. We're always excited to stop here! Every employee we've ever encountered has always been so kind, the food is always delicious, and there's ALWAYS something amazing to buy in the gift shop. My husband tries to get me out asap lol Don't sleep on Kerrvilles Cracker Barrel y'all!! Or the chocolate cola cake! And during the holiday season bless your tastebuds with a slice of the cinnamon roll pie...I dream of it!
Great place! Our waitress Kathy was super pleasant and helpful, the food was all delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and cozy, albeit a little crowded. Overall 10/10 would eat here again.
I was visiting for a week and dinning in the service was not great, but than I started the to go orders and had the best service Angel was the best and very helpful went back just because he had the best service
I had the honor to have Marisa as my waitress. She was very friendly and sweet. She came by to make sure everything was good. Offered refills when needed help decide on what was the best choice to eat, and it was delicious. She is a ray of sunshine her service was excellent and fast. Even had a little nice conversation I would be definitely going back to Kerrville Cracker Barrel and hopefully I have the honor of having Marisa again
We had not been to a Cracker Barrel in years. This was a pleasant experience. We were seated within 3 minutes of arrival. Our waiter was efficient and helpful. Our meals were very good and pretty quick to arrive. Everything was good!
Great waitperson Ben very attentive and polite. The food was great as usual and especially nice that some of our foursome could order breakfast while my husband and I ordered lunch. Really good entrees and sides, home cooking at its best. Love the made from scratch biscuits. Thank you so much for keeping the original menu and decor. One of our favorite restaurants in Kerrvillle TX.
We went to cracker barrel today because im celebrating getting my license back after ten years im a server in fredericksburg and we had kalie as our server and she was amazing she didn't miss a beat even started with telling us her name which many servers dont do anytime I go to this crackerbarrel she will be my server great job kalie you made my experience so good ill be back
Brandi C., our server provided excellent customer service. We placed our order and our dinner arrived quickly. The food was delicious. She was the best we have experienced at that location. Well done Brandi and Kerrville Cracker Barrel. Abby and Scott Brickey
Fantastic atmosphere, super friendly staff, delicious food (I have never been served the food so fast in any restaurant I've ever been in!! It was literally only a few minutes!) And a terrific atmosphere (there's a REAL fire in the hearth!). Kayleigh was super fast and attentative despite having several people in her section. Terrific experience.
Food was great but, disappointed that they no longer have my favorite dish. Service could have been better but, other than that everything was good. Only other thing is that I was standing at the host stand for a while before someone decided to come seat me. They also weren’t busy at the time. There were like 3 tables at the time.
Great Thanksgiving dinner! Great atmosphere as always, awesome. Only a 10 minute wait for a table on Thanksgiving at 2:00pm! That was the quickest of any other location Ive had Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you for working on this special holiday. It really means the world to someone with a family of 4!
My wife and I had dinner there on November 18 and the food was great tried the fried turkey meal which very good! The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly and attentive! Our server was Daisy and she attentive and friendly! She gave us great customer service and we enjoyed learning about her experience in band with her performance this weekend with UTSA. My wife was in band at Fredericksburg and Texas State University. We asked Daisy about Thanksgiving meals to go and she told us we could still order one and we did for our family ! 🙂
Lisa was a fantastic server, and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. First time being at a cracker barrel and certainly not the last. We need one in eastern Washington. It's also awesome that they were so willing to let us stay in their parking lot with our truck/trailer. Thanks again
Steak tasted better than the ribeye at the Texas Roadhouse. Waitress was very attentive and polite. On top of everything another customer paid for our meal which we found out when it was time for us to leave. Too bad we could not thank that kind person. Cracker Barrel has nice customers!!! Thank you to Cracker Barrel for allowing RV's to stay overnight.
Tried something new today. It's the Shepherd's Pie with a cheesy crust. Big chunks of meat. A scoop of mashed potatoes in the middle. Plenty of food. I couldn't finish it since I also tried the onion petals, but it would still be very filling. The dipping sauce for the onion petals was very good with a little heat.
This place renew my faith in Cracker Barrel, I had stop going to CB, because of their declined in food and service. But we were on a group coming back from a camping trip and the group choose the place. I went alone and was very surprise to find friendly wonderful and fast service. NEW MENU and delicious dishes. I chose the Shepperd Pie that was very filling and with a combination of homemade and fancy restaurant look. Thanks, now I would go to the one back home to see if they made the chances too.

Fast service. No wait for a table at 1pm. Great server. Plenty of parking for large campers and small vehicles. Our steak was tender. Fried chicken Salad was fresh.

Excellent food and service as always in the Kerrville CB. I would just add, When paying the bill at the check-out counter, ask if rewards customer or not before asking for payment. My last two visits I was not afforded the opportunity to add available points to my account or use available points towards my check.
Let me start by saying, I love Cracker Barrel and have always had great service at this one. This time was not good. I ordered the Grandma breakfast with the French toast. I added peaches. The peaches were forgotten and not brought until we were almost done eating. I ordered the hashbrown casserole as my side and that was brought AFTER the peaches. The peaches were just canned peaches in a cinnamon syrup type sauce. Not sure if that is the usual, but they were not good. That being said, I will continue to eat at this establishment. I know we all have bad days.
The food was very good and the service by Nikki was attentive, 5 stars. I didn’t know there was a markup with a salad. I wasn’t told about the extra $2.49 for a handful of lettuce, 2 small pieces of tomato, a teaspoon of cheese and bacon shreds. -1 star. The cashier was a rising star, older lady, and was very efficient and polite. She did amazing.
I would like to THANK the Cracker Barrel for their hospitality on Sunday evening. We showed up around 9:30 and they close at 10. So we were their last customers. Me and my 2 sidekicks, Bryon (husband) and Heather (daughter). It was my BIRTHDAY!! The food was great and the server was perfect, what I really liked about the waitress was that she was short like me and she had a smile on her face the whole time, even after 10:00! There was a couple of things that were not so good; 1-no alcohol 😉, 2-no Pepsi. But overall it was a good birthday dinner (free cake & ice cream). Thanks again, Sandy I had another pleasant visit at CB. April 2022. The atmosphere was quite, the server did her job well, and the food was amazing, I actually finished my plate (Trout) and I can't remember the last time I did that.
We had a fairly long wait to have our order taken but our waiter apologized, and after that, the service was spectacular. The biscuits were melt-in-your mouth. I had the chicken and dumplings, which was perfect in texture and flavor. My husband's fried chicken dish was huge and quite delicious. Our side dishes of fried apples, mashed potatoes and green beans were quite good. But the hash brown casserole was cold and dry.
Food was good , but not consistently hot. However , Our service was great . Brandy was very friendly and accommodating to our requests ! She went above and beyond. We like Cracker Barrel , but we would stop more often if we could count on the food being Consistently Hot
I went for dine-in around 7:30pm on a Monday. The atmosphere and service are always good, but from my biscuits to my sides to my entree it’s all tasted not fresh, left in the warmer too long. The biscuits were hard, the greens tasted dry and overcooked and the pot roast although tasted good I feel like it had been left in the warmer a bit too long. They offered me a free desert due to a longer than normal wait so I got the strawberry ice box pie, it was tasty. Shouldn’t a kitchen manager be checking that food isn’t getting over warmed or stale?
Good breakfast option, as Kerrville is limited. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean!
I ate in (breakfast) and got chicken fried chicken w/broccoli & carrots as sides. Breakfast was great; looked in at my dinner for tomorrow and I got hardly any veggies. Veggies are cheap as compared to the cost of the two huge chicken pieces they gave me. Live & learn...I will definitely chk my order if I ever go back again.
Food is always good. Portion sizes, temp and flavor are awesome. Our server was a nice young man but apparently very busy. The manager was a little rude and very uninviting. She was very helpful towards others in the store/restaurant even my husband but not me personally. I don't like to think people are racist but I was the only black woman in there. Food was still amazing!! The bathrooms need a MAJOR update.
We came in for fried chicken but ended up getting Momma's pancakes instead because our sweet server, Kayla, suggested them. We asked if there was something for seniors and that was the closest she could recommend. It was almost perfect, except we could have used only 2 pancakes, instead of 3. Just too much to ear at our age. Kayla made our experience special. Thank you, Kayla!
Great place to stop in and get a good meal. It is set up like all cracker barrels. We were seated quickly. Our orders were taken and the food came out pretty fast. The food did not disappoint. It was delicious. The establishment was clean. Lots of curiosities to browse after the meal.

My husband and I decided to try Cracker Barrel for breakfast while we were in Kerrville. We both had the eggs, over easy, with hash brown casserole, bacon, biscuits and gravy. The food was good. …
Oh, Cracker Barrel... Why does thou vex me so? We have ordered over the phone for take-out twice: Thanksgiving week 2024 and Summer 2025. The Good: 1. The food was tasty. 2. The employees were very kind. The Bad: 1. (Summer) When we arrived (10min after appointed time) to pick up the meals, our order didn't show in the "to go" list at the register, so we couldn't pay directly and it wasn't ready. 2. The order (along with several others) came from the kitchen soon after that, but didn't look like enough to be our order. 3. The order ticket on the bag was completely missing 2 items. 4. There were other items missing from the bag that were on the ticket (so the server returned to the kitchen to get what she thought was the rest of the order). 5. After the bill/ticket was refigured, it came out to exactly what I had been quoted when making the order over the phone. The Ugly: 1. Both times (T'giving week & Summer), once we arrived at our destination 30 min away, we realized that we were missing items that we'd paid for and couldn't return from to get them or get a credit/refund. 2. (Summer) Even though the order was checked before leaving the restaurant (for the same 30min drive), upon arrival at the destination we realized that the extra ("biscuits" and muffins) side-order was still missing, Note: We have eaten in the restaurant a few times over the past 5 years and it was pretty good (4/5🌟) over all for dine-in.
The food was just okay and the atmosphere was nice, but the service really brought the experience down. It took far too long for our food to come out, and the service overall was poor. Disappointing compared to what I usually expect from Cracker Barrel.
The biscuits were hard and on the verge of being cold the gravy was thick and cold. The grits were way, thick and lumpy and cold took forever. Once we got them to bring us some butter to get the butter to melt and mingle. The bacon was lamp and half cooked. I was extremely disappointed.
Love Cracker Barrel but not our best experience with one. It was almost too dark to read the menu. Our waitress had no personality and had a hard time focusing on what we were ordering. My daughter ordered a cherry coke. The server with a pinch of attitude said we don’t have cherry coke. It’s on the menu. Our breakfast took an unusually long time to come out. Once it did finally come out mine and another member of our party were missing our biscuits and gravy. We notified our server and a little later she brought just a small bowl of gravy. We explained that the menu says they both come with biscuits and gravy. She went and got it but acted like she was doing us a favor. I asked for an extra side of ham. Quality was average at best and cost me 9.99. Had no idea a side was as much as an entree. Biscuits and pancakes were awesome. Everything else was ok.
Note: The manager's boss compensated me for this mess. Maybe it was just the one person. Thank you for addressing this matter. I ordered two Thanksgiving meals and a vegetable plate for a 0900 pickup online thinking that this would help my working wife relax. I asked for 0900 to avoid the lunch rush. Everything seemed fine when I ordered. When I went by to pick up the meals, I was greeted by two helpful workers. But then I was told that meals were not prepared that early. Then I was asked which manager I put the order in with. I explained that it was done online. Then a manager came out to talk to me with lots of attitude. I told her we could come back at 1100 to pick up my meals. Then I asked if there were any other issues. Then she became aggressive. "Issues like what!?!". My wife tried to intervene to calm things down. And the manager turned and left in a huff. At 1100, we came back and had to wait an hour and a half in a line of cars to finally get our food, as I watched other customers drive up, park, and then walk out with their food in hand 20 minutes later. When we finally got to the pick up tent, I was asked to provide my name and phone number, which i expected. But then I was asked to prove it with the order number. I provided it, only to receive an incomplete order. I was too upset to calmly return and my wife asked me to just let it go. Thanks for ruining my Thanksgiving meal!
First of all, the hostess was not friendly so already off to a bad start. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive to what we needed so the food wait was where the issue was. To be completely transparent- we are a group of 7 (we are a traveling sports team so we go out to eat often and we have never had a service this unusual) They started bringing food out at 7:40pm and brought out the last plate at 8:10. Keep in mind we are a school sports team so we don’t get anything expensive, around 15 bucks worth of food each so the 30 minute difference was crazy. The, I’m guessing manager, was very apologetic about the situation and even covered two plates in the end so that was nice. Side note- this “country style cooking restaurant” was completely out of mashed potatoes 😥 Taste wise, everything was great when it eventually came out.
Disappointed for the first time with Cracker Barrel. The food had always tasted like it was freshly prepared when you ordered it. This evening, the fried chicken, which normally takes awhile to s…
This is about the first time I have ever had such poor service and dining experience at a Cracker Barrel. We were seated before the busy lunchtime on a Wednesday. It was about 15 minutes before our server came. I noted four other tables seated after me that were able to place their orders and receive their food ahead of me. When our food finally arrived, one order was incorrect. It was very loud in the dining room being full now. Maybe the server heard incorrectly or the kitchen staff erred. The server corrected the mistake, which took 20 minutes to finally get the plate of food. I was finished with my meal and my lunch companion's meal was now too hot for her to consume. We boxed it up and left. The roving Viking manager never made it to the table to inquire about our food and service......off day at Cracker Barrel....hope that isn't then norm. I noted many of my fellow diners leaving happy.
My first and last time to eat at a Cracker Barrel. The food was so bland, every thing I ate had no flavor. Its a total insult to country style cooking. Not sure if it was just this particular restaurant in Texas. But Im sure I'll never try another Cracker Barrel ever again.
Most of our food was very, very salty!! We did not enjoy it at all!!! Please fix this do we can enjoy Cracker Barrel again!!!
I love cracker barrel but I have to say they failed in all kind of aspects when I went. I understand restaurant was Extra full and made the service not the best. Clients were waiting and they were all mad. I have to mention a senior thought we cut the line I went explained her that we signed for the waiting list online. They didn't know how to do it and nobody explained them at all. Restaurant crowded and waiting for the food was crazy. They need to improve service for holidays, Sundays, and special occasions due they know they will expect a lot of people. Best wishes!
Such a shame-the food quality keeps going downhill. I used to love this place, but the only time I visit now is to shop in the store - which accounts for the 3 stars in atmosphere-only while shopping. Only reason to stop here is for the cool items in the store.
The front door will take you through the store first but then you can be seated in the restaurant. This led to distracted kids which is okay. It took a while to get food ordered and then it felt like a long time to get served. The campfire latte i ordered had some tasty foam on top and then tasted like a regual coffee until i got to the bottom where there was a ton of mocha syrup not mixed it and really killed the vibe. The drink was decoratively covered in super sticky marshmallow like goo which got all over the cramped table. The food mostly came out ok but what was a real disappointment was the loaded baked potato. Our son with some challeneges was served this potato. The waiter apologized that it didnt have any toppings on it but provided them on the side. So meal time was spent helping him make the potato, which sounds like a minor thing but really stops us from just taking a break and enjoying a break from the road while we rest, recoup, and eat.
Let me be clear….. we are huge fans of Cracker Barrel. But this time, Cracker Barrel failed us. We were traveling, and stopped at this CB, because we have had good experiences in the past. Not this time. The meatloaf was not the quality we have enjoyed previously. My husband (and loves CB meatloaf) ate barely half of it. The corn biscuit lacked its usual yummm. Our server was extremely inattentive. He never returned to our table to ask us if we needed anything. We had to repeatedly ask for things. I had to ask 3 times for one particular item. He seemed like he wasn’t “on task”…….we are always sympathetic with servers, as our children and several of our grandchildren worked as servers while in college. So, despite the very poor service, we left him a 25% tip.
Chloe or waitress was great. It took over 45 minutes to get our food, not her fault. Catfish was dark and overcooked. Food had no seasoning. Chicken and dumplings looked like it was swimming in pale watery milk, likely to stretch it because they were sold out. None of it was good. And EXPENSIVE now!!!! Sadly, there were maybe 12 tables with customers. Went on a Sunday at 3pm. Group of 4. Music was so loud we could hardly hear each other talking. Won't even discuss the young lady swinging chairs around us and banging every table leg with broom while she violently swept. It was so loud we all actually stopped and turned to see if she was ok. I don't know what has changed or why, but I do know we won't be back. Of anywhere we could have gone, we chose here because it used to be a great experience. Cracker Barrel has been in business over 50 years. Should run like a well oiled machine. An $80 disaster. So disappointed. If you are looking for a nice lunch/ dinner, try ANYWHERE ELSE but here.
Thought I would give CB one more try. My previous meals just haven't been good. Well things haven't improved at this one too! $12 for biscuits and gravy, definitely not thick bacon. Service was ok. The place is very outdated and needs remodeling or a deep cleaning. The entrance was dirty and the windows and handles were dirty. The little store was so over stocked it was hard to walk through. Probably my last visit.
The food is not so great now since they went woke and changed the menu. They also bring out the rolls late and you have to request them.

service sucks! There were three servers and just a handful of customers and still couldn't get served. Do not recommend!

Horrible! Took forever just to get our drinks and order taken, and it wasn’t super busy.! Food also took forever, and upon arrival, wasn’t worth the wait. Nothing like having room temperature food,…
Breakfast cold food coffee Luke warm , expensive. Why can't you get hot food anyway. Weren't busy
I'm trying to figure out - what's actually good here? Breakfast maybe? Over several visits, both dine-in and curbside: Country fried steak was on par with a frozen dinner CFS. Catfish was only about the size (but unfortunately lower quality) of a Gorton's filet and was tough and dry. Burger, mashed potatoes, and french fries were okay. Fried chicken was a little better than that from a frozen dinner. Cream gravy wasn't bad. First visit was a 'haven't been there before, lets try it out' visit. Second visit was 'lets give it a second chance - maybe everything isn't bad like the CFS was'. Last two trips (using up a gift card) were 'tying to find something not so bad'.
We decided to try our luck for breakfast before the church rush on Sunday. We were seated immediately but we waited forever for our waitress to acknowledge us. It was not busy... Luckily we ordered our meal with the drinks because after our first cup of coffee we didn't see our waitress again. We flagged her down & asked for more coffee but then she disappeared. We had to ask a busser for coffee but he went to the back to get a manager. A lady (assuming management) came over to ask if we needed anything. We explained that we had asked our waitress for a coffee refill but she had never returned. Several diners had empty cups on their tables searching for their server. When our food arrived (and the second cup of coffee) it was wrong. Items were forgotten & the grits were swimming in margarine so bad they were inedible. The egg sandwich I ordered was ok, but they forgot the cheese (I reminded them so it was removed from our bill) as were the extra order of runny grits (they'd sent two grits instead of an order of hash browns like it was shown in the photograph). The fresh fruit was tasteless as well. The pineapple has no flavor. The manager seemed annoyed by our request for the hash browns but they were brought out nonetheless.
I love the food but sadly the service was horrible, our server could not have made it more obvious that she did not want to serve us* the rest of the tables full of white folks was perfectly fine she was very attentive. Our food was cold our drinks were never refilled and she asked about 6 times if we were done and needed boxes when we were literally still eating and had food in my mouth. I love cracker barrel but never stopping at this one ever again. Very disappointed!!!
Went in and was seated, there were just a few customers there and we waited for over 30 minutes and no one came to our table. We saw several servers walking around and not one of them came to our table . After sitting there waiting forever, we decided to leave and go elsewhere for dinner. Horrible service!!! The host was the only courteous one on shift.
I am really disappointed in the service that we had at this establishment. We were in line and I told them that we had three adults and one child and we were told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. There was a group of four men that were behind us and when they went to the stand and told the lady she sat them down before us when we were there first and had a child that was ready to eat breakfast. I am very disappointed in this establishment and the service that we received while we were there. I will not be coming back to this establishment again with the way yall treated my family. You will seat grown men over a child is really disappointing.
I ordered the Thanksgiving individual meals. I was very disappointed. There wasn't enough food on the plates to feed a child. For a hundred dollars we should have at least gotten full and not any of the 5 of us get full at all. Never again will I do this . The taste of the food wasn't any better than the size of the portions. Overall never again will I waste that kind of money to do this.
I don't know why i keep giving Cracker Barrel another chance. This time was worse than usual. My husband got the herb roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. It was swimming in butter and herbs that the potatoes were liquid, he had to ask for an empty plate to get the chicken out of it. The chicken was overcooked the meat was dry.
I rode in today (about 6 hours on my bike), looking forward to eating near the hotel. Walked inside about 5. I asked for a window seat. Although there were 6ish tables in the open dining area (1 or 2 of which were occupied), they refused to seat me on the window. I walked out and down to a nearby independent Mexican restaurant. The staff didn't care.
Usually we have decent service even when the restaurant is really busy, but this last visit we had was one of the worst we’ve had. Our server got 2/3 of our order wrong, we ordered 2 momma’s, but recipe 2 grandma’s, with only one getting the french toast even though both were supposed to be french toast. The change from pancakes to french toast was the only change made. Our server basically avoided us the rest of the time we were there, minus bringing out the check. He wouldn’t even look at us when he helped his other tables. We had asked other servers for help too and no one brought what we had asked for (napkins, togo containers). If we didn’t have a fussy baby at the same time, we would’ve spoken to management but we knew that with how frustrated we were, we wouldn’t be able to approach the situation calmly. I had spoken with the cashiers and they said the only thing they could do was get management. We didn’t eat most of what we received and since no one wanted to bring the togo containers, we left most of the food there. Nothing on the receipt had been corrected, we had asked about too.Just paid and left. The cashiers were very nice and sympathetic, even helped me purchase an item that no longer had a tag that my toddler found.
The bacon as usual is raw in some parts why don’t they just make crispy bacon for everybody? You can’t tell me that somebody out there likes raw bacon and the eggs are not fluffy and moist. They are flat and have no taste. I hope somebody reads this and does not let them give you raw bacon and flat eggs.. we all work hard for our money and we just want hot fresh food cooked properly.
I loved the Maple baked Chicken breast but they took it off the menu. I’m not Happy at all and I’ll probably not be back plus I’m going to tell all my group that ALWAYS ORDERED IT and I’m sure they won’t be back either! Plus you took off the sweet potatoes 🍠 a long time ago and you need to bring that back too! I can go to Another place to get this.
Walking in and noticed it wasn't very busy, so not sure why we waited for several minutes before anyone showed to greet us or show us to our seats. Once seated our server arrived quickly and took our drink order, returning quickly with our drinks. So I ordered the country boy breakfast, and the Cole slaw and pinto beans for the sides. The server then returns and tells me those sides aren't available. As I question why, she turns and walks away. Returns with the same dirty menu and with I'm assuming a manager (Stephanie), who informs me that the sides aren't part of the sides with that meal. I open the menu and the manager (?) explains the sides are different with the breakfast menu, so I ask for that menu. The manager returns with the menu, so I tell her whatever two sides are fine. She leaves, no apology, no anything, the then the server returns after another 10 minutes or so asking if I've decided on the sides. I tell her I already told the manager whichever two are fine, and the server walks away without saying anything. The manager then returns and says she wants to make sure I get the sides I want, to which I reply I already ordered the ones I wanted which you said weren't available, so any two sides are fine. After another response in kind from the manager, I tell her just cancel the order, we will go elsewhere. Worst experience ever! I would rate zero if allowed
Horrific!! This is a true story of my experience at Cracker Barrel in Kerrville on 9/ 1/2025. It's a bit of a long read but worth it. It's really no wonder why this franchise is doing so badly if this location is a representation of the other locations. We were a party of 5, we were seated next to the kitchen even though the restaurant was nearly empty. We placed our order, 3 fried chicken plates, 1 burger, 1 chix sandwich. Appetizers came out, all is good. 20-25 minutes later we were told they don't sell chicken on Mondays. What? So we reluctantly placed a new order, we asked that they not fire the burger or chix sandwich so everyone's order came out together. 15 minutes later, no lie, we were told they had no chicken soup, this was the alternate order for 2 of us who had ordered the fried chicken. Flabbergasted, we asked for a house salad. 15 minutes later, no lie, the salads, chix sandwich and 4th plate were brought out. No burger, the waiter disappeared, we did not eat because we all wanted to eat together as we requested. 15 minutes later, no lie, the waiter came out and informed us they had dropped the burger on the floor. No lie AND.. would we like them to fire a new burger. So almost 2 hours into the visit, noone has eaten, 4 meals still uneaten on the table, no chicken, no soup, burger on the floor, I asked for the check, we were going across the street to Sonic. The waiter literally ran away from the table and never returned again... 15 minutes later, no lie, the manager came to our table and pretended not to know anything about our ordeal but already had all the answers to why our experience was so poor. While all of this was going on we noticed several sets of customers who had been seated, got up and left at some point in thier visit, we suspect because of the lack of items available on the menu just like what we experienced. They didn't charge us for anything, blamed the experience on the following.. covid, lack of staff. Holiday, and the waiter . The manager threw the waiter under the bus 100%, she blamed him for everything. Now that's poor leadership, a real leader takes full responsibility and never sacrifices a team member. Absolutely disgusting, no wonder why this location has so many problems. We visited the memorial before coming here, we went to the Holy Cross, and down to the Guadalupe to pay our respects. We wanted to visit local businesses and spend money to help in our own small way. This Cracker Barrel establishment is a disgrace to the community, this was the first time we have ever visited a Cracker Barrel, if this is the first impression that tourists have of Kerrville its a shame, a damn shame. I honestly don't think we will ever visit a Cracker Barrel again. This was probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. Curious to see how they respond to this.

Kerrville's Cracker Barrel: Hill Country Comfort and Southern Charm
If you're rambling through the Texas Hill Country and find yourself in Kerrville, Cracker Barrel is often that familiar, comforting stop you didn't know you needed. Conveniently located, it's a reliable spot for travelers and locals alike seeking a taste of down-home American cooking.Let's talk grub, because that's usually the main draw. Seriously, Maria, the chef behind the counter, earned a huge shout-out for her chicken soup. One diner practically waxed poetic, calling it the best they'd e...
