Amazing service and food. Very large portions. The eel bowl was God tier! The chicken teriyaki was great too.

Really good sushi, best in the area. Nice staff and good service. We eat here all the time and also do take-away quite often. Family friendly, and nice ambiance for an upscale outing also. Love it when they have live music going.

Our first time here and we took advantage of their Monday special 1/2 price rolls (Fantasy, I love Albacore, & a couple others I can't remember the names of), in addition to a couple of sashimi choices (yellowtail belly, scallops). Everything was fresh and delicious! The service was spot on and everyone was so friendly. We'll definitely be going back...often!

Wow! I am used to eating in Japanese restaurants but this was above par. Every item was delicious for both my husband and myself. This is also my first food review because it was THAT good! We will be back.

Update: My lovely bride and I went here for anniversary last night. It was calm we're able to be seated right away. The servings were abundant. For the price we got a great deal of food. We had a wonderful time, the service was excellent. Once again highly recommended. Very busy on Valentine's Day. The reservation system on the app must have gotten overloaded because everyone who had a reservation was told to put their name on the list and would be served in order. Even with that we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation. The staff was very helpful and covered for each other in a difficult situation. We look forward to going back there and trying not on a holiday. The prices are a little bit High but the servings are huge. We all came home with at least one meal more to enjoy at home. I would recommend this restaurant

This place was amazing. My husband and I have been looking for a new sushi spot for a while. It was delicious. I'm vegetarian and was worried they would have nothing for me. I had the garlic edimami veggie roll and vegetable tempura. Delicious. My husband had the baked salmon roll and baked lobster roll. He can't stop talking about it. To top it off the menus had scripture on them. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 ... Love it!!!

I loved everything here, the food was extremely tasty, I bought the beef teriyaki and it's almost a guarantee that you'll get stuffed, the service is also really great, the waiters were very very kind and great at what they do, this place is 100% 5 star for me!!! 👌

Simply the best I have had in an extremely long time, the staff, the service was phenomenal. Most importantly the food was amazing, it was all so delicate and fresh as if they just went fishing for the food. It surpassed my expectations. Definitely will visit again when I come to town again.

My husband and I were looking for great sushi close to home. We found this out of nowhere and loved it from the first time we walked in. Polite servers, amazing food, and great atmosphere. The service is not as fast as it could be, but it's worth every second. The monday buy one get one free deal is amazing!

Quality ingredients. It's hard for businesses now with the cost of ingredients, but I greatly appreciate having a quality meal - generous portions, better type of wasabi, and fresh fish at a reasonable price. Will be back!

I used to visit frequently when I lived in L.A., but after moving to Orange County, I finally had the chance to return and enjoy a meal with my family. It was impressive to see that they’ve maintained their high quality over the years. No wonder the restaurant continues to thrive. In my opinion, it’s a much better choice than many overpriced sushi spots that are famous just for the sake of being famous. Having visited numerous top-tier sushi restaurants, I can confidently say that Sakana holds its own without a doubt.

By luck of google i believe I’ve found my new favorite sushi place hands down. We came in here midday for a late lunch and were greeted with friendly chefs and welcoming wait staff. Every order of sushi was perfectly balanced and fresh and even their rolls were tasty and not overflowing with rice. We will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu and see what else they will surprise us with. Highly recommend !

The prices seem a bit high at first glance, but in relation to the portions, it is a bargain! The teriyaki plates are bento box style, and the box sections are large!! It’s great. The special rolls are very tasty. The food presentation is lovely. The atmosphere/decor is very modern, minimalist, and cool. The parking lot is small, but is free and always seems to work out. Highly recommend! We got sushi nigiri, chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, garlic pepper shrimp, sashimi, and the forbidden roll. The teriyaki plates come with CA roll/spicy tuna, mixed tempura salad, orange, rice, miso soup, and another sushi dish. We have gone off hours (2-4ish); never a wait, and pretty quiet.

Spicy Tuna Roll 10/10 Crispy Tuna 10/10 Baked Salmon Roll 10/10 Shrimp Tempura Roll 9/10 On the House Roll 10/10. Made special for us by the chefs because we ordered a lot of food and drinks hehe Special rolls are around $20, and regular rolls are about $10 each. Service and food 10/10!!!

One of the freshest selection of sashimi and sushi I've seen... Probably more so for this area. They also have many Japanese inspired dishes and many rolls to explore. If their food doesn't blow you away I'm sure the fried tempura ice cream will. Oooh... Don't forget the ice cold beer served on frozen mugs. One of the most refreshing beer experience, period! Parking is plenty and kids have lots of choices other than sushi. Definitely a family friendly restaurant.

I always try to throw in some extra CA rolls because it’s so cheap I usually eat a lot. Only problem is that the wait on the weekend can be anywhere from 45min - 1.5hrs. Just call in the order before you get too hungry.

The best sushi in all of Los Angeles. It's super family friendly and everyone is friendly. Some of my favorite dishes are the volcano roll and the yellow tail carpaccio.

Excellent food and service. The freshest fish, perfect presentation, and generous portions. Very affordable as well. A couple could easily share a sushi/sashimi dinner or an entree plus an appetizer. My only issue was the cheap disposable chopsticks but that's easily remedied. Will definitely go back and bring my own chop sticks 😁.

Sakana is definitely a place I would recommend for a nice, enjoyable meal. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is comfortable and romantic. The food is plentiful and tasty! I've had their chicken teriyaki twice now and both times, it was delicious. My husband also enjoyed his tempura plate and the dragon roll. The food quality is very good. One of my favorite dishes is the salad that comes with the dinner meals - just the right amount of salad dressing and the variety of fresh ingredients!

Not authentic but if you like Californian style I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is serene and Parking is FREE! Service was great.

I know covid times are hard but this restaurant has a long line of people waiting 45-60 minutes, some said 2 hours for their orders and they won't let you inside to ask if yours is ready. You have to wait 8n the parking lot and be called in. Mine was sitting there ready for 10 mins but I had to wait outside. Lots of confusion in the customers waiting, and workers running around frantic inside. Hopefully you guys can figure out a better system as I'm sure you are losing repeat customers.

Liked this place because their current discount and good food. But tonight, I placed a phone order and confirmed an hour wait time knowing it was worth the wait. My family member went to pick up the order as she was already in the area and ended up waiting 2 hours for nothing. When asked about the order status, the entitled cashier(?) replied that the order hasn't even gone through yet... We just wanted our food and cashier already charged the card yet the order wasn't even being prepped! Ended up getting a refund but they even kept the gratuity charged... We just wanted some sushi for dinner, but ended up facing terrible customer service and bad taste in our mouths. And the have the audacity to put a Bible verse in their menu! Amazing..

I have been going to Sakana EVERY Monday night for many months. I actually loved the restaurant, but on my last visit I have never been treated worse in my entire life, anywhere. We had brought some extra people with us on this visit and arrived at busy time - about 7pm. We put our name on a wait list. Several parties showed up after us, and we waited. Then we realized that a family had arrived after us but were seated before us. The hostess knew this as she admitted that was the case, so we waited. She said there are not reservations on Mondays and she knew that they had been given preference. Finally, we were seated. For whatever reason, no one approached our table...at all, but they were serving the table right next to us. We were invisible. We had been there an hour and finally decided to leave. I thought they liked us because we are not difficult customers and we were regulars. They thanked us for coming - apparently didn't know we hadn't ever been approached. I felt horrible because this was our every Monday go to place. This happened 3 weeks ago and I still feel sad.....

I've got to say that this was one of my least favorite sushi places I've ever eaten. The quality of the food was terrible especially given the ridiculous prices and small portions. Both my wife and I felt nauseous after eating here. The atmosphere didn't help either.. they had this nerve-wracking dubstep music blaring. Overall terrible experience. Even the poor koi outside of the restaurant were sitting in stagnant dirty looking water. No filter or pump running. Whoever owns this place really needs a reality check.

The staff service it’s very bad the way they talk to the customer. It’s disgusting. They don’t know how to service how to respect the environment and Customer specially the girls works over there. They just wanna take the order the road in front of the customer and get paid they don’t care how they handling the tables even the phone taking the orders is the worst part of this restaurant. I won’t recommend this restaurant for anybody to go and have a peaceful time and food spend your money somewhere else
