Excellent street tacos al carbon. Coleslaw is the best when they use enough dressing. Employees are usually helpful and cheerful. It is my go to place for a filling quick meal.

The chicken dinners are great for children and family come with "Fresh Tortillas" guacamole and beans with a Mexican-style chicken, just good all-around... plus they accept EBT. What else could you ask for?

This el pollo loco is the best in the area its clean the chicken is good and juicy. The. Cashier his name is Tony hes very nice extremely friendly , polite and patient. He's always there and works very hard. The tables are alwAys clean the bathrooms are clean too and always stocked up. If you want good chicken go there you wont regret it.

This location is the best 10 miles around at least. The staff is great and their food is fresh. You would think all pollo locos have the same food so what's the difference? Well, for instance, this location has avocado salsa that's creamy and a little thick while at other locations it's watery, as if it's diluted. I come here even though I have other closer locations to home. Pollo Loco at The Colonies in Upland.

I was having a bad day and didn't feel like cooking so came with my 4 kids to eat and thanks to Eileen for taking my order and being super patient and sweet with me and my kids. Appreciated her customer service so much she made my day feel a little bit better

I've been here a few times in the past 3-4 months, and I must say: Chris is the man! Super friendly, cheerful, happy, and just a really pleasant person to watch work. He is gregarious with every customer, and his demeanor keeps me coming back to this restaurant. He seems to be rubbing off on the rest of the staff as well. The food is just like every other El Pollo Loco I have visited, but the staff at the La Verne-foothill location are the reason I'm posting this. Keep it up Chris and co!

Very good grilled chicken! Buy a larger size then you need family meal and you will save money and have your lunch for the next day. Clean location has inside seating and clean bathrooms. The service is usually very efficient and employees are responsive to your needs.

Wow! Today was quick and accurate. Great team work! From getting my order to food perfection. Good communication among staff. Thank you! The only thing is the salsa bar needs modification inside all the pollo locos restaurant. Whoever planned out the bar or set up the design needs to take action. Take a look for yourself.

Love this location. Great amount of parking and the service is one of the best, I have seen. Came in for my free food on my birthday. So fun. The interior of this location is amazing. Always being cleaned after customers have walked away from eating. The freshness of the salsa bar is clean and replaced often. Great job El Pollo Loco.

It's nice, mostly quiet. Usually people get drive thru. Sometimes the soda machines didn't mix the syrups correctly but you can ask the employee and they'll fix it quickly. But man do they still have some of the best tasting grilled chicken. I been coming here for years now, and the quality of it has gotten better than ever. Even if the sides arent the best, the chicken makes it worth it. I'd usually buy the chicken and make my own sides at home. Delicious.

Terrible. The dining room was closed so the drive thry was slow and long. Then when I got to the window, an d man WALKED up to the window, cut in front of all the cars in line, and was allowed to order and got his food. Then, when I got home, my order was wrong EVEN THOUGH I ASKED the guy at the window what was in the bag to be sure it was right! Terrible.....

Once again, on returning home and opening the knotted bag to retrieve our food, items were missing. This time it was the salsa and tortillas missing. So I had the two small pieces of chicken and two sides. If this happened just once, mistakes happen. But it has happened too many times. I think I will try Juan Pollo.

I ordered the classic tostada salad. They accidently gave me someone else's order. Which did not make the lady who ordered it very happy. I on the other hand got dbl chicken for a lesser price. The manager on duty looked confused. But the cashier nailed it. Helping in all directions. My opinion retrain your managers!!

Ive been going here for 30 years, Ive had every part of my order forgotten. I learned to take my time and check it, it holds up the line, but you. I cannot eat without utinsils,,a real coke cannot be drank when you order a diet. Running out of chicken use to be a problem, years ago. Bottom line for me is they serve the healthest food. Take your time and go through your order. Its a corp training store and the help varies. Us old veterans help the staff by double checking the order. Be kind, its not deliberate. I love the food, 2 piece white, pinto beans & rice in one cup with a side salad and flour tortillas. Don't forget senior discount.

Good food, but seems to be some kind of issue when I stop in here for a family dinner to go. 2 different times now I get home with the wrong food or something missing. In a rush cant count on this place to be correct on your order

Visited a few days ago during lunch rush. Went through drive thru and was told I had a seven minute wait and would have to come in to pickup chicken. Second time this location ran out of chicken during lunch hours. Otherwise, food well prepared.

I love El Pollo Loco. It feels like a slightly healthier fast food option. I crave the Loco salad. My only complaint is that they seem incapable of getting and order right. You always have to check the bag to make sure everything is in there and there's usually always something they've forgotten to give you. Otherwise I would go here a lot more.

Management should look at the low ratings of this location. Person at the cashier was new and I can tell that he was not properly trained. Had to keep asking everybody for questions. There was no one in the dining room inside yet it was dirty. Both on the floor and tables. This place needs keep up the cleaning and better train their employees

Good chicken, consistent taste and quality. However, their service needs improvement. When going through drive-thru, always check your order. They consistently forget condiments, which is very annoying when you get home and all the sauces are missing.

Well if it was not for penny your employee cashier in the front with her smile . Your place would be nothing. She out of all employees working had a great personality. On The other hand the other cashier needs to be trained properly..im not sure if it's el pollo locos policy to ignore there customers while in front of the register.. she kept walking away until I got her attention..look !!!for the price of chicken here it should come with great customer service..let's be honest u can buy a whole chicken .rice and beans for less the 20 dollars for a whole family to eat.. I would not recommend unless u have coupons.. ur better off going to Juan pollo...they have nice friendly smiles there..they greet hello and say goodbye and thank you.. it's simple..

Went inside to order as I wanted to specify exactly what I wanted - which was only breast and thighs. I ordered 16 pieces. When the man brought my order to the counter he was closing the lid and I saw a leg. I told him that I only ordered breast and thighs, and he replied the chicken leg was a gift. I should have checked! When I got to my party and opened the containers, there were 4 wings and 4 legs!! Yes, I did get 4 thighs and 4 breasts. But 8 of the 16 pieces were what I specifically told them I didn't want. I called the store and no one answered. I called the corporate number and no one answered. I will be going to the store tomorrow with receipt and photos. Very unhappy. First time in that store. And last.

Still love their double chicken toastada salad with the avocado salad as the dressing instead of the creamy cilantro. 😂 Update: 9/3/20 The last number of times I have been there they have been very inconsistant including the last time they screwed up my order, as well as the person that had ordered before me. Multiple closures have also changed my mind on this location. I doubt I will be returning any time soon, if ever.

I keep returning thinking this location will get better. I used the drive thru 02/05/2021 @11:50am , I paid cash, no receipt, received the wrong order i returned to the drive thru to get the correct order, drive home and no tortillas. The chicken was "Yellow " and unappealing there was nothing "Grilled"about it. Just gross!

I almost didn't eat here, but my friend was really hungry. There was trash all over the kitchen floor which could be seen by the customers. Dinning area where not that clean either. The only thing that stood out was the cashier was very friendly.

I purchased the family meal which included 12 pieces of chicken, cheese quesedillas, and two sides for about $25. I chose beans and rice. I bought it to bring to a pot luck at my church. I usually like El Pollo Loco, although its prices have been going up and its chicken serving size has been going down over the years. I usually get the tostada salad but it is kind of hard to split that at a pot luck. I do not usually get the meals. I was disappointed. The beans tasted "funny" according to one person. And the chicken looked like a teenage supermodel...it was so skinny! The quesedillas were good but it is kind of hard to mess up melting cheese in a flour tortilla. I will not be getting this meal again, especially for the price I paid!

I've noticed that an el polo loco representative responds to the poor reviews. That is fantastic. For the one responding, you may be interested in knowing that my family lives across the street from the La Verne location but drives several miles to other stores because the lackluster customer service and extremely frequent occurrences of not having chicken breasts available during evening hours makes going here a very frustrating chore. We've also noticed that friendly, high-quality employees don't stay at this location long. After seeing so many good employees leave, and experiencing the same product availability/customer service issues over several years, poor management has to be considered as the likely culprit. I really wish this was a decent store, because we would visit frequently.

I would give them a better rating but the manager is really very rude to her employees and she gets them so confused with all the yelling she does at them. This place used to be better but since this manager is running the show its going down hill. Can't stand to hear her screaming at the employees and calling them from across the restaurant and embarrassing them. She actually told one of the employees if you can't get this right I'll send you home right now. No class or respect for people. Really bad business on her part.

The cashier was nice, but the time it took to get my order seemed very long for one quesadilla which was terrible. There was cheese only on half of the tortilla and it wasn't even melted. I was on my lunch break so I didn't bother going back. It was disappointing that even though it took a long time to get my order so early in the morning, that the cheese on it wasn't even melted. I think the quality at Pollo Loco as a whole, has just gone down in general. Also what's up with not filling the salsa bar anymore? Another cost cutting decision? Probably the last time I'll go to El Pollo Loco. It's not just this location, I feel the quality doesn't match the value, because it's expensive and not worth it.

Always have to wait for chicken and the salsa bar are always empty. I ordered a half chicken combo but they don't have breast and wing . They want to give me 2 thighs and 2 legs instead. If I wanted 2 legs and thighs I would have ordered it.

First time at this location today. 4 people at register and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. And i had to wait while they tried to figure it out. There was no tops for cups. No napkins. When I asked they said they ran out of napkins. Wasn't given utensils. Only one person dining there and the floor and tables were filthy. Trash all over floors.None of tables had been cleaned. No toilet seat covers in bathrooms. Kids mac n cheese was watery. Chicken dry and over seasoned. This place was very unorganized and poorly managed and it was filthy. Would never eat here again.

Every single time I order a salad here, they give me no dressing!!! The whole reason I order a salad is for the cilantro dressing! Am I supposed to eat a dry salad?!?! Also they forgot one of my two sides for my family meal. What is wrong with this place?! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤬

Horrible service. Never gets my order right. Drive thru can never read back an order correctly. The whole reason I eat at El Pollo Loco is for the creamy cilantro sauce. They never have it. They always run out. They've lied to me numerous times saying they've had it and instead try to give me double salsa or avacado salsa obviously after I've paid. They lie just to get your order and cash. I now have to ask if they have the creamy cilantro sauce BEFORE I even start my order. It's a 50/50 if they have it. Like I said, they try to give me avacado salsa instead. I'm just going to have to get the sauce BEFORE I even give them my money. This is probably the worst service I've ever dealt with. The last three times I've pick up through the drive thru they've messed something up. #1. They said they had creamy cilantro and once I paid they didn't have any more. #2. Forgot my sons mac and cheese. #3. (Tonight) said they had creamy cilantro. I asked at the speaker and the cashier at the window. They gave me avacado salsa instead. This place is horrible. I'm going to have to be one of those people who sits on the drive through for 5 minutes verifying my order because the employees here can't seem to do it.

I've tried to give this location a chance every time the wait is too long or the order is wrong. Now that el pollo does order online I thought things would be better. It's worse. Twice, the food is overcooked and the order is wrong. The past visit the cashier argued as he fishy receive the order yet for me to proove from my email that I ordered. Never again. Thus location is horrible. Panera may be a tad more expensive but at least they know how to do online ordering. I dont blame the employees as much as management. Get it right El Pollo or just don't do it at all.

It was terrible. All they had was legs and thighs. Service was terrible. The person behind the counter could have cared less. We were there for 30 minutes waiting for our order. It was in a bag behind the counter and when the counter guy finally gave it to us he said it had only been there 10 minutes. We will never go back and we will tell everyone on the area about the experience

Will never come here again waited 45 minutes in drive through just yo get a cheese quesadilla that was well done with barely any cheese and tried the new shredded beef taco’s I don’t think they could if fried them any longer without them disintegrating. Very disappointing.

We've been coming here for years and the quality has unfortunately declined. They keep getting our orders wrong and when they try to fix it, the chicken is undercook because they had to rush it out. It's unfortunate because this one used to be the best one around. Now it's without a doubt awful.

Not only have they had consistently long wait times in the drive thru lately but we're rude and vulgar to the lady I was with even telling her to "f--king go somewhere else" when she tried to warn them about food handling and cleanliness as we waited inside. Not only did it offend her and but challenged my patience (especially because it was my idea)....so after years of stopping in I won't be back but will also tell everyone I know to avoid this location.....

We ordered 5 meal today March 1 drive thru. We said to give us extra salsa, 5 plates, napkins and 5 forok n spoon for our 5 orders. When we got home…there’ no salsa in all 5 orders, no flour tortilla in one order and no napkins. Very very poor service. This is the 2nd time it happened to us. The chicken is too dry. Frustating…. Before el pollo loco is my favorite bow i hate it.

Visited Pollo Loco roughly three weeks ago and here's my take on that visit; Service was super slow, employees weren't that courteous/friendly, and the chicken burrito was just average. Food not not piping hot, meat not well seasoned, and what I would describe as mediocre service. I visited again on May 8th, 2021, Saturday,, at 9:35 PM. As I pull up to the speaker to order, a female voice says, "I'm sorry, were closed!". Let's see, its Saturday night along Foothill Bl in LA Verne, and this location is closed before their advertised 10 PM closing time. Since there were at least two cars ahead of me in the drive through, I started backing out. There was an employee waiting to put orange traffic cones in the drive through lane. As things have opened up after the pandemic, I noticed a lot of drive thru restaurants have been slacking on service. This was no exception, and no real excuse on shutting down early. I'm sure the owner, based on many reviews I've seen, will make a generic apology and request correspondence on Pollo loco.com. Thats not doing people any good. For those that have had really bad encounters, how about offering a free meal, or offering them a refund. Something other than lip service. Some customers have advised reporting their issues on PolloLoco.com, and that's as far as their complaint went. As it stands right now, I rate this location, one star, and strongly suggest visiting other Pollo Loco locations if you desire such a meal. Although I have my doubts about seeing any improvements in food or service, I will visit once again soon and report the results here.

The lady at the drive through told me I’d have to wait back in the long drive through to Oder a forgotten item that took less then 30 seconds to put in a container and my family was hungry. Pretty sure customer service is supposed to be first priority

Yes, I went there the other day went through the drive-through and had to go back because they forgot tortillas. Then I went today to try one more time and ordered online and realized they didn’t give me My drink had to go back in and the other drink that they gave me was wrong got home and realized I didn’t get half of my order. Will not be going back there.

Ordered the 8 piece family meal and a few other items in the drive thru. We asked for utensils and the girl said they were in the bag. We parked to eat in the car and had no utensils. Went back and asked for some again. Then noticed we only received 2 tortillas for the family meal Went back again. Girl said that's all it included. The chicken was very dry. At about 8:30 pm.

I ordered one double protein avocado bowl combo and 2 chipotle chicken avocado burritos and they gave me a side of beans and 2 different burritos so I went back within 10 minutes to get me order right. If I could give it a zero, I would! The drive-through has gotten my order wrong 4 out of the last 5 times I went there this past year. When I point out the error, they are always quick to say it was someone else's fault, never theirs. WAY too much hard, bitter, white lettuce "core" is chopped up into the lettuce they use. I have to pull it out of my salads and one time there was 1/3 of the lettuce that was this castoff lettuce. These are not cheap salads. to have to throw away a large part of it because you cannot eat it. That is not acceptable. Additionally, they chop up the hard, clear "grizzle" part of the chicken, so you have to constantly pull it out of your mouth, as you cannot chew it. Since I work nearby, I kept giving them chances. NO MORE. They have lost my business.

What a joke! Tried to purchase a two piece dinner and was told that they were out of chicken and it would be 40 minutes. How does a restaurant, specializing in chicken run out? The people running this place don't seem to be very bright! Good thing there are plenty of other places to buy chicken!

Don't go there, though the price went up everywhere for everything, some restaurants give you less food such as El Pollo. Unfriendly staff who gives less food than before which cost more. Terrible! It was my dinner... chicken tostada bowl. I am hungry again and trust me I don't eat alot. Montclair I used to go to often. And they give you your money's worth. I can't speak for nowadays tho because I have not gone in a long time. Anyway try Montclair or another location. Or go elsewhere for Mexican fast food.

I had a Birria burrito in Victorville CA. El pollo loco it was so good. I just had my daughter bring me one from la verne NO MEAT IS RIDICULOUS u guys make el pollo loco look so bad. And I like how the owner just responded to people probably that he knows to put nice things on here. Smh

From the moment you pull in to order from the drive thru, you are greeted with a pissed off worker who is obviously hating their job, the drive thru speaker crackles as the employee begrudgingly takes your order, totals are never given until you get to the window. If you are lucky, they will have avocados in stock, this is hardly the case since my last 2 visits they have been out of avocado before 6pm. The cashier was the only positive aspect of an otherwise worthless restaurant taking up space for a superior fast food chain. Another positive I will give them is that since I was waiting so long in line, the shape of the full moon is engraved in my brain, and I will be able to picture it as I fall asleep.

Ever since the pandemic these people have you waiting for minutes in the drive thru.. With no customers inside the restaurant and they still make you wait seems like this young generation can't move as fast as they did before the pandemic it's frustrating at times to just sit in the drive thru and wait for one order. If they were busy I would understand but they're not busy inside

Never gives receipts nor NAPKINS unless you ask. Ridiculous to have to ask for napkins. Another time, dead fly in drink, and another time, served a raw piece of chicken in taco. The guy that gave a refund didn't even apologize, just looked rude. Keep coming back here though because there are no long lines in drive thru.

They never get an order right, their food station looks like a hurricane has hit several times and they are unapologetic. I started only going there for soup when I want soup but then they started calling a small soup the large soup OR only putting an inch of soup in the container OR the soup is water with gross dry chicken and veggie bits in it

I had a disappointing experience with the chicken avocado burrito I ordered from El Pollo Loco. The burrito had an excessive amount of cabbage and burnt chicken, salsa, and only a tiny piece of avocado, which was hidden and not noticeable until I had eaten most of the burrito. Overall, I was very unsatisfied with the burrito and do not plan on ordering a burrito from any El Pollo Loco again.

Terrible Terrible wait, I will HIGHLY recommend to NOT go to the drive-through if your car doesn't have a good ac. This is the longest time I had to wait for my food in a lollo loco drive-through. The cashier also seemed unhappy working. Very poor experience for the first time passing here.

We usually drive to another Location in another city. But tonight we decided to try this location again. Big mistake!! It’s dirty, they are confused and they were actually laughing at an older gentleman that was very polite but asking for stuff. Also, the appearance of the workers is not good. Also the sausa bar was nasty and there was more stuff on the counter than in the containers. I think instead of making it pretty in the inside they should have the money on training! The chicken had been cooked way too long. The tortillas were not hot or even warm.

Worst service. Took forever JUST to order at the driver thru, then when the cashier took my card, he snatched it from my hand then threw it back at me. They combined two separate orders together and turn handed me the burrito half covered with foil. Never got my receipt either. All I wanted to do was pick up food for my family. I will never come back and I totally do not reccomend this location

Rude staff, slow service! This was our 2nd time going through the drive thru in a couple months. Last time, we waited at least 15 minutes to order and drove away when we got to the window as no one came to it after we waited, again! Tonight, we were asked if we were ready to order, my husband said a few minutes please, a few seconds later the guy asks "are you ready to order?", I say "just a minute please" to which we get a response "oooook". We drove away again! Will not be back! Explains why there's no customers inside or in line, your cooperate needs to be involved because management doesn't seem to know how to manage 🙄

Place was horrible used to be good, not sure if new owner or what but for sure has to be a new cook. I ordered lunch this past Saturday and food was horrible over cooked and received the wrong order . I went back for dinner and chicken was dry looked like it had been sitting all day, ordered churos and they were so hard I could have played ball with them. Tried one more time today and ordered two piece breast and wing not sure what I got but definitely not a breast and again dry and really dark color like the chicken had been sitting a long time and each meal chicken should have been thrown out but instead was as though it we're fresh. Do not know where the manager was did not see any supervision and no one who cared. Do not usually write these reviews but after trying three times and getting the same bad food each time will never go there again unless they get a manager who cares along with a new cook Just awful. Filthy unclean place .. got the chicken quesadilla and there were pieces of bone in it...I thought I had a broken tooth or something.But I. Spitting it out it was dark burnt piece of bone, more likely cut from the thigh area... But when you have to go to each table just to find a place to enjoy and eat peacefully but can't because it hasn't been wiped is frustrating and shouldn't be in a place that serves food.

I gave this place too many chances. It seems that everytime I go there, this place is desgined to give you more slop. Less chicken on the classic burrito.... and then this last time I went, they gave a BRC. I'm done. I would rather drive further to the montclair location

NASTY MANAGERS This location has the worst customer service. They push the use of the screens to order, and if you mess up your order, they are passive aggressive about it. I tried to customize my order so that my bowl had more greens and no lettuce, but they gave me an almost empty bowl. The young man at the counter was trying to help me and other customers wanting to order without using the screen. Then, the manager cracked the whip, shouting to the employee "less taking and more working'. No one deserves to be treated like that. I was already turned off about this location based on other nasty experiences with the managers. I'm not coming back. Two customers who were waiting walked out without making a purchase. Money talks!

I ordered 8 pcs well done chicken Well done first of all ,they said did not have enough chicken on the grill they said need to wait 15 minutes after 20 minutes they gave me 80% burned chicken in the box so I asked for a new not burned . So I thought the second was was Ok and did not opened the box and trusted them when I got home noticed the New box was very burned chickens outside and almost raw chicken meat inside Very very disappointing how dare you serve your customer raw almost raw food instead of cooked food. We had to throw away all the of it and decided do not purchase EL POLO chicken Any more.

They mixed burned/dried pieces of chicken with the fresh ones. So you get the best and worst of both worlds. If the cook burned the chicken it should be thrown away not served to paying customers so the store can recoup cost. I’m really starting to hate el pollo loco.

I normally would not complain about fast food quality or service, because I get it, fast food is not known for its service or quality. However, the abhorrent behavior I witnessed during my visit was unacceptable. I placed a fairly large order about 45 minutes before closing through the drive thru. The man who took my order (I believe he was the manager or supervisor, he was the only male I saw with a headset on) was clearly irritated/annoyed when I was placing my order. After every item he kept saying "is that it?!" In a rude tone. At one point he mockingly chuckled because I was continuing to order (almost as if he was internally saying "really?!"). I asked for the large side of the cilantro dressing (which I've ordered before from this location and it's advertised on the app), and he said "we don't do that, we do the small size how many do you want?!". I figured maybe he was just having an off night and chopped it up to that. Whatever... While he was rude/condescending to me, the way he spoke to another employee was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure what the context was, but this "manager" screamed at another employee to the point where it would be considered harassment. I'm not sure the context, but he screamed "YOU ONLY NEED ONE, ONLY ONE, THAT'S IT!". The best description I could give is how Gordan Ramsey talks to his kitchen staff on television. I could not believe that this "manager" would speak to another employee, let alone another human, like that - particularly in front of customers. I would NEVER speak to a colleague like that, even if they were my subordinate. This person should not be working in the public. He was clearly frustrated beyond belief, you could tell by just his body language. The disrespect for both customers and other employees was disgusting and this employee should not be speaking to people in this manner. For the cost of my order, I could have gone to a sit down restaurant. In addition to the horrible service I witnessed, the food also sucked.

Got the chicken avocado , worse burrito ever . Had 3 pieces of chicken old and hard not fresh at all , barely any avocado and zero flavor . Everything super dry and not fresh at all . I almost choked on the dry old chicken. I also had a rice bean and cheese burrito (super small $3 ) I remember back in the 90s and early 2000s el pollo loco used to be awesome. Their quality has come down and prices way up to the point that is not worth it . Taco Bell has more flavor and cheaper prices and better quality and flavorful food. Willl never come back to any pollo loco again .

My sister and I went here for lunch today and it was a total disaster. I waited 10 minutes behind 1 person to order. I’m assuming the manager that was there today was filling in from another location because he didn’t know where anything was. When I finally was able to place my order he was rushing me through and after I paid he disappeared for like 2 minutes before giving me my receipt. The floor by the drink dispensers was so sticky you could hardly walk through the area. The napkins smelled like mildew and our salads were $10 & nothing was fresh. There was barely any rice & beans in them and a total of 3 pieces of chicken on each one which was very dry. The dressing tasted different also. It was like it almost had no flavor. The chairs were wobbly and there was a group of customers that were yelling and screaming the whole time. I feel the manager could’ve told them to quit down a bit. This is not the only bad experience I’ve had here but it had been a while since I’ve been to this location so I was hoping maybe it had gotten a little better but, it’s only gotten worse. Honestly, this location should just be closed down. Every customer in line was complaining about something. I’m really shocked that they’ve stayed open.

Old food passed off with high prices Never have a good experience at this pollo loco location. Today it's the last time for me. I ordered 2 salads. Both had limp lettuce and brown avocados. I spit my bite out. Hope I don't get sick. Just disgusting
