I went here on the weekend with my sibling and we absolutely LOVED it. It has such a cute aesthetic and vibe, the food was delicious, iced tea so refreshing, and the service was great! I had some strawberry cake and strawberry iced tea and was sooo happy with my choice, absolutely delicious! Will definitely have to return to try some other treats sometime, highly recommended!! ❤️
I had a good experience on my first visit. The manager, Pavan, was very helpful and suggested the best items on the menu, which I really appreciated. The food was tasty and well-prepared. However, I felt that the quantity was a bit low for the price. Overall, it was a pleasant experience……
Great cafe with a wide selection of breakfast and pastry menu. Apparently this is a chain restaurant as I saw other locations in London. I reckon that since this is a chain restaurant that all the other locations have the same quality and service. The service was fast and staff were helpful. I highly recommend them for British Breakfast.
I went to this establishment to celebrate my sister’s anniversary and I left far from disappointed. The food is delicious and the cake variety made it hard not to please my sweet tooth. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially pavan and Alysha. They met us at the door and took care of us right till the end making sure that we had everything that we needed. My family and I are already planning our next visit back !!!
I have been coming to Comcerto for about two and half years now once or sometimes twice a week. The manageress Ms Renata has always been most helpful and accommodating. Often I.bring overseas guests to eat with me and her manner is excellent, She is an excellent host.
I recently visited Cafe Concerto after a long week at work, and it was just what I needed to unwind. I brought along my favorite book and ordered a hot chocolate, which was absolutely perfect. The creamy top and the little chocolate powder sprinkled on it transported me to another world! 🥹 The soup of the day was actually carrot cake, and it was so good! I also took my favorite strawberry gateau home to enjoy later. It truly felt like I was feeding my inner child with these treats. 🥰 Thank you, Cafe Concerto, for such a wonderful experience. Your attention to detail and the quality of your offerings made my day. I can't wait to return! 🌟
Lovely interior design and atmosphere. The pastries were just delicious and well presented. I was walking to the Shaftesbury avenue and this restaurant caught my attention and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Great authentic Italian food and pleasant service. The menu had plenty of choices as well as vegetarian options. The house Merlot was a great pairing. Although we didn’t have any the desserts looked very appealing with lots of cakes to choose from. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice lunch in busy central.
Had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. The organic matcha was smooth and flavorful, and Yuriq gave excellent, friendly service. Definitely a nice spot to start the day.
We had Renata as our server she was very nice. Had to have a full english breakfast as our last meal before leaving it was really good, and as a treat had the special hot chocolate
Thanks to Arzoo and Akash, and their great treatment. The service and the food was amazing!
Amazing service and dessert! Wow! Highly recommended, 40 country world traveler
We enjoyed a meal before going to the theatre. Our waiter, Chaka, was super. He was knowledgeable about all the meals and served our wine with aplomb. He made us feel very welcome.
Wonderful Breakfast Experience at Caffè Concerto – Shaftesbury Avenue I had a lovely breakfast at Caffè Concerto on Shaftesbury Avenue and it was absolutely delightful. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, with beautiful décor and calm morning vibes. The service was friendly and attentive — Reneta in particular made the experience special with her warm smile and excellent service. The food was fresh and beautifully presented — perfect coffee, delicious pastries, and a great selection of breakfast options. It was the perfect start to the day! Highly recommend visiting this branch, especially if you’re looking for a refined yet welcoming breakfast spot in central London.
We booked prosecco afternoon tea for five people. I highly recommend it. The food, brioche buns with smoked salmon & cream cheese, coronation chicken and sandwiches of egg mayonaise and cream cheese with cucumber. Traditional scones, jam & clotted cream and a lovely selection of cakes. We was also allowed to have coffee instead of tea. Yuri our waiter was welcoming, friendly and very attentive. We wasn't able to eat all the cakes, we was given a box to take them home which was nice.
Lovely ambience of the restaurant. Renata was so welcoming and assisted in deciding what to order. The breakfast was 10/10. The barista Akash made the best flat white, if you want good coffee, this is the place
The place is extremely beautiful, the waiters are very attentive and Renta was by far the best who served me and tented to all my needs effectively. The food is immaculate and I had an amazing time! Definitely recommend if you are around Soho to visit!
Five stars for a lovely experience! Caffe Concerto on Shaftesbury Avenue is a beautiful spot with amazing coffee and delightful pastries. A special shout-out to our waiter, Pravan G, who was incredibly attentive and made fantastic recommendations. We'll definitely be back for more of that perfect atmosphere and excellent service
I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of vegan cakes. The chocolate raspberry one was absolutely delicious — rich and flavorful. The decaf latte was a bit watery, and it was a bit of a downside that there’s an extra charge for soy milk. Prices were on the higher side overall. Great service and atmosphere.
A very busy restaurant/cafe due to its location opposite the Apollo Theatre. Definitely worth booking if you are thinking of having something to eat before you go to the theatre. We were running late and had to put it back a few times and they were so very accommodating given it was a Saturday lunchtime. We went here just before seeing Fawlty Towers (which was excellent btw). They were understaffed and we did have to wait a little while to be served but the food came out very quickly and was delicious. Rather on the expensive side given we had - 2 glasses of wine, two sandwiches and a tuna melt and a coke and it was £88, but then again, this is positioned back in the centre on a busy road. Giving it a 4 stars only because of the price and they could have had more waiters/waitresses but we thought it was perfect for a meal before the show. We didn’t want a main meal just a sandwich and it delivered. The place is popular and it was packed.
Stopped by for a lemon meringue tart today, having been thoroughly captivated by the exquisite pastry display. Regrettably, the one selected for me had a broken top. Whether it was a simple oversight or otherwise, as a first-time customer, I would have sincerely appreciated a tart that matched the immaculate presentation of the others. I am not upset. I am merely hopeful that the staff might handle such delicate creations with greater care and precision. After all, we are all paying the same price, and attention to detail does make a difference. I only hope that this small piece of feedback finds a kind ear.
I went here on a date and it was an amazing time - the staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back there for more cake time 😍
Cafe Concerto on Shaftesbury Avenue in Soho offers a charming ambiance with a distinct old European feel. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a hot beverage and a sweet treat. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and the service is attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The display of cakes in the window is visually appealing, and there is a wide variety of sweet options to choose from. We opted for a selection of cakes and hot drinks. The drinks were enjoyable and the cakes were good (but not exceptional). The main drawback of Cafe Concerto is its pricing which it is on the expensive side. While the service and ambiance are commendable, the price point may not justify the overall experience for all customers.
We were attended by Tasmina H, very attentive and friendly. Scones were delicious. The red velvet cake was kind of dry. Loved the overall vibe
Enjoyed some great drinks and some wonderful service by Shaka!
Caffe Concerto was a nice spot for a meal. I really enjoyed the smoked salmon scrambled eggs, and the Nutella crepes with fruits were excellent. Interestingly, although no one else in the bar seemed to be having beer, I still got a Stella Artois delivered to my table. It is a bit on the expensive side, so it’s more of a one-time treat during a London trip, but overall, a good experience!
Really sorry to sound so negative, as we know how difficult it is for the hospitality industry at present, but this was a disappointing visit. Having eaten dinner here last summer before a theatre show and had quite nice food (albeit rather expensive) in a convenient location, came here again for lunch before a matinee. Arrived at 12, had our food order taken within 10-15 minutes. Soup arrived within a reasonable time (but rather thin and watery in flavour). Then waited.... and waited.... while cafe got busier and busier. Made allowances for that but by 1.15 mains had not come (and many people who had arrived after us had received theirs). Asked one of the staff where our food had got to; she was very helpful and said she would ask. Asked again after 10 minutes; "it's coming" she said. Asked again after another 10 minutes, and pointed out we had come early in order to have time to eat our meal, and had therefore ordered a more expensive main dish, but now we probably would barely have time to finish it. We would also have ordered a nice dessert and probably coffee but because the main dish did not arrive until 1.40 pm (well over an hour since we had finished our soup) we had no time to have these. It was a tasty meal, but very overpriced for what it was, and despite our request for veg to be well cooked/soft to eat, some of them were 'al dente'. One dish did not include pumpkin as stated on menu, and the other did not include parmesan as shown on menu and in picture. Asked staff member about the parmesan and she said "oh yes, you can have it if you ask for it". 3 staff, doing their best and very helpful, but rushed off their feet, restaurant completely full with tables very close together so they could hardly get around the floor space. One of us has to eat food slowly to digest it, and was therefore unable to finish before we needed to leave for the theatre soon after 2pm. Staff kindly gave us a reduction on the bill. Would suggest that for these known 'busy pre-matinee days' there need to be fewer tables to reduce the number of customers, and at least one other person upstairs as well as more staff in kitchen.
Had an okay visit to this Caffe Concerto. The mille feuille was tough but the filling was delicious. The lemon meringue tart was good. Nothing more to say.
I tried this cafe this afternoon. I have been in London for a week and I have tried lots of sweets and pastries and this one was the worst!! The quality was awful!!super sweet and sugary!! The Dubai chocolate was not good!! I really love the display but the pastries were not good!! it was too hot inside too!! I don’t recommend it
All servers friendly. Lovely atmosphere in there and beautiful ware on table. All our food tasted really good but it just wasn't hot and we like our food piping hot. The pancakes were cold, the toasted chiabatta was warm and the Croque Madame was only tepid. The tea was lovely and hot but we were very disappointed at the lack of heat on food. Its coming up in a dumb waiter....is it sitting in that facility too long. We requested 3 fresh pots of tea but got just boiled water added to our pots so tea was not good. I was not charged for the refiled pots. 3 mains and 3 teas was €83. Pity about the lack of heat
I had afternoon tea and was disappointed. While the service was lovely and the restaurant was very cute, the food was lack luster. The sandwiches and biscuits were enjoyable, but the pastries were awful. They were completely unbalanced and much too sweet, such that I didn’t like a single pastry out of the 6 we were given. I would go elsewhere if you want cute pastries that actually taste good rather than just look pretty. As a cherry on top, we had to replace a pastry that had a moldy raspberry, only to get another moldy raspberry on the new one. I would definitely skip the pastries if you go here.
I am writing my experience in Concerto my self and my family’s recent visit to your Shaftesbury Avenue branch on Saturday at 16:30. My wife, who has been a regular customer, suggested we visit with our children for dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to the conduct of a staff member who appeared to be both the server and the manager on duty (an Asian male). This individual was rude when we requested a simple glass of water for my son, which I found unacceptable. Even more concerning, we observed him touching his private area during service. Whether intentional or not, this behaviour was highly inappropriate and deeply shocking for us as customers. Because of this incident, we no longer wish to return to Coffee Concerto. I am not expecting a call or an apology, but I felt it important to inform you of this matter so that it can be addressed appropriately.!!!! 🚨I would like to update my previous complaint and apologise for my earlier review. On 09/10/25, I visited the restaurant again for coffee, and Rinata served us. The service was outstanding — she was friendly, professional, and very attentive. The cake was delicious as well. I’m happy to give Rinata a well-deserved 5-star rating and thank her for the excellent experience.
I was having a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE in this cafe in April 18 with my birthday. The waiters guy with glasses was like racism when taking my order, but when he go to others customers. He did serving well. I have ordered 2 cakes and 1 drinks but when I have waited like 20minutes for my second cake but it’s still didn’t come, only I ask and he just let me know it was out of order for the last cake. I was thinking never mind, today was my birthday just choose others cake again. But when I ask for bill or menu again with he. He was like just going to finish others order only will proceed my order. I was feel like it’s very rude for me. Only the other waiter coming to proceed my order was doing well. I just from Leicester to have a day cheer in London because my birthday but still having THESE REDICURIOUS experiences. I don’t care I was celebrating my birthday alone but just the service. Really? A Chinese customer comes to your cafe so you don’t want to serve me? After I paid like 40£+ I was the services tax 10£+ I was like REALLY? And my thinking was not balance for this poor service and I really have no more mood to finish the last cake anymore and leave it. I WOULD NOT GOING TO THIS CAFE ANYMORE.
Absolutely disgusting. Shocking. I’m filing a report the food hygiene standard. I went here a few hours ago and was sold a whole celebration cake. Went home blow the candles cut the cake. Only to find the cake was MOULDY!!!! I’m adding the pictures on this review. This is so disgusting I hope they get shut down. Please nobody else go eat there again. That cake must have been sitting there unsold for way pass its best before! I’m positive I will be ill after having consumed some of the cake. I will be suing this filthy company. Diabolical.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this café was honestly one of the worst value-for-money experiences I’ve ever had in London. We ordered a simple Nutella crêpe for £18 and a Nutella, strawberry, banana crêpe for £20. For that price, you’d expect something generous, instead we got a sad-looking plate with barely any toppings: about two tiny strawberry slices and what felt like half a banana at best. It was genuinely disappointing. On top of that, they add a 25% “discretionary” service charge, despite the service being anything but good. The staff seemed uninterested and unfriendly, and we were mostly ignored throughout the visit. Even a basic Coca-Cola was £7, which is just shocking. Overall, the place felt massively overpriced and completely underwhelming. The only real reason they seem to get customers is their location on one of the busiest corners in London, definitely not the quality, service, or value. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. There are plenty of places in London that charge fair prices and actually care about the experience they offer.
Myself and my wife were in London for our anniversary and chose this restaurant based on menu and reviews. What a mistake!!! For starters it took ages for someone to come and take our order. In the end I had to wave at someone.. we shared the starter, Calamari which was nice enough, and the reason this place got a star. Our main the chicken Milanese was not so tasty, both our chicken pieces were burnt, and hardly much left that was edible, my wife’s chops were cold and my pasta, not cooked. Top it off the menu said it came with aubergine, when we asked, they said it’s been removed from the dish.. How is this possible, so no veg with our dish!! While we were suffering with our plate, there was a large party that clearly were disappointed with the food also complaining to the lonely waiter.. they seem to have a lot more to complain about.. when asking for the bill we had to chase this up after complaining, and in end we had our drinks for free. This off a bill that still mounted to over £70.. the top it off the atmosphere was not great, wasn’t helped by two rude girls who clearly gone in there just for the desserts who were loudly talking, playing music. To call this place a restaurant is an insult to the word and to food.. avoid this place, I don’t know where all these positive reviews come from, I said to my wife should have to go ‘Daves Hot Chicken’ over the road.. that would be my advice to anyone thinking of come here..
I'm not someone who gives negative reviews often, but I feel in this instance it's important for people to be warned. I took my step daughter here for tea and cake, we had pre booked the table. The online booking asked extensively for details of dietary requirements for all parties and I found that reassuring. However, when we arrived the waiter had barely any knowledge of allergies and despite the main menu stating they had a designated gf menu, it didn't exist and the waiter said he'd tell us from memory what was available. The waiter kept walking off mid conversation and I suspect he was lying about what items were gf just to hurry me up. I Nearly all the options on the menu were out of stock and I eventually settled for a gf scone, my daughter (who isn't gf) asked for a crêpe which wasn't available and then settled for a chocolate muffin. Both were dry and tasted out of date. The bill was extortionate and I've genuinely had better experiences in 5tarbuck5. No one at any point seemed to care about our experience or make it right, and I sat there trying to keep a brave face in front of my daughter whilst feeling bl00dy miserable. I will be reaching out to the company themselves so that they're aware. It's pretty concerning after reading reviews on here how they respond publicly to the good reviews but stay silent on the poor ones.
