My first time after my wife went in December and recommended it. Fantastic food-from bread to snacks to the main courses. Beautifully presented and every mouthful delicious. The staff were wonderful too-charming and friendly with an excellent sense of humour-thank you Christina and Lucas. Will definitely return!

Had the tasting menu, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, our waiter was very friendly and explained each meal as it arrived. Food was quick, presention was beautiful, and portion sizes were really good - not huge but rich and full of flavour. Was very full by the end of the meal and enjoyed every mouthful. The restaurant itself was very nice, with a warm cosy atmosphere and quite sophisticated look but without feeling stuffy. It also has two nice balconies with views over the street. Really enjoyed my visit, and would happily go back again.

I heard good things about this restaurant since it opened, only got chance to visit yesterday, when they already got a worthy one star. The venue is delightful, lots of natural light for lunch time and nice view. The atmosphere has a nice balance, not overy formal, slightly casual but very neat. Service was very friendly and attentive. The food had colourful appearance, almost like summer dish style. All dishes were made with great accuracy. Only one dish (guinea fowl) has a slightly over salted (in my opinion) sauce. The fowl itself was perfectly cooked though. The chocolate dessert was amazing, it could be served in top level restaurants in Paris without any embarrassment, where I think in general has better dessert courses than in London.

Ate here in early October, various menu options at Lunch, a 2 x 2 xw that could be made into a tasting, a la carte and a tasting, had the tasting, it was absolutely superb, food as good as iv'e had in years, great service and a beautiful elegant understated room, this place feels like an updated version of the halcyon days of fine dining in the late 90's and noughties, the food has real soul to it, is generous, unpretentious and above all tastes fantastic, the FOh team were great too, would highly recommend and next time i'm in London will be visiting again.

The set lunch menu is a fantastic deal. Even better is that some people can order off the set menu, while others are free to order a la carte. Everyone gets a procession of amuse bouche and petits fours. Cooking was uniformly of high quality, and service was on point. The restaurant space is comfortable, if not super interesting. I'll definitely put it on my list to return for dinner.

After a very belated but enjoyable first visit to Medlar a couple of months ago, it became clear that Cornus had to be done as well. I visited with a friend on a Saturday evening. It was semi busy but there were plenty of unoccupied tables as well. The setting was a bit formal but the atmosphere was relaxed and not too stuffy. We ordered a la carte and between us we tried the crab and scallop starters, followed by the duck and pork cheek mains, and finally the mille feuille and chocolate desserts. There were a couple of amuse bouchées and petit fours thrown in too. The food was consistently very good, served in a similar style to Medlar and I would say slightly better here at Cornus. Portion sizes are modest though and the generous servings of bread were required to top up the meal. Service was very friendly. The bill for our meal came to £315 of which £90 was spent on drinks. Very reasonably priced for a refined dining experience such as this. I’m glad my visit to Cornus was not as belated and I would happily return in future.

Finally got to try the tasting menu at Cornus. Revered by many as THE London opening of 2024, the fact they got their first Michelin ⭐️ and received pretty much every other accolade a London restaurant could wish for, all that within 6 months of opening, was the nudge we needed to book ourselves in. Needless to say the experience lived up to the hype. Everything was spotless but far from soulless, from welcome to departure. The service, which I have been told Owner David O’Connor is obsessed by, operates like a smoothly coordinated ballet. He has the most eagle eye when walking the floor to keep everything seamless and anticipate any needs, and this is reflected also in the attitude of his team. It is no coincidence service comes first in mind when looking back on our dinner at Cornus. The wine pairing was carefully selected, I believe by Head Somm Melania which we sadly missed, and always offered a great complement to the dishes with many off-piste choices we would never have ourselves picked off the list. The list is extremely well curated and fairly priced for London. And the food … well Chef Gary Foulkes just nails it with ingredients associations that simply work and absolute precision. The 5-6 ingredients per dishes called out are noticeably present and carefully balanced. No endless additions and showstopping plating, just perfectly executed comfort in a plate. Every dish was outstanding but it will be heard to beat the sea bass tartare started for its freshness and crisp salinity. Huge congrats to David and his team for what they have achieved this quick and hope to visit again soon as it can only go one way from here 🚀

CORNUS It was four months ago when we made our first visit to the newly opened Cornus Restaurant. As we were so impressed we decided to return for our Christmas treat. I can honestly say now I’m so glad we did as we enjoyed an incredible dining experience. The last time we came there was only an A la Carte menu but now they have additional Lunch Menu and our choice the Eight Course Tasting Menu. We arrived to a lovely welcome from the team before taking a seat at the bar for an aperitif. It was good to see Mario again as we enjoyed an Americano Cocktail and a glass of English Sparkling Rose. We were then escorted to our table to let the festivities begin. Our intention was to have the Xmas lunch menu but the tasting menu simply looked too good to say no to. We then chatted with sommelier Stefania to discuss our wine options and she recommended a 2022 Sebastian Christophe Chablis that paired with the menu beautifully. After starting with a couple of snacks we moved onto the first course a stunning Seabass Tartare with oyster cream , green apple and shiso. This was followed by the Handpicked Devon Crab , the Phil Howard Langoustine Dish that was absolutely amazing , Roast Scottish Cod. This led us to a fantastic main course of Fallow Deer with red cabbage , beetroot , madagascan pepper and bitter leaves which was paired with a glass of Christophe Curtat 2020 Syrah. After a little break we moved to desserts. Here we would be in for and absolute treat as the amazing pastry chef Kelly first sent out an Apple Tarte Tatin which was absolutely delicious. This was to be followed by the Christmas Pudding Soufflé with vanilla ice cream and brandy custard which personally was the best soufflé I’ve ever had. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end a truly amazing dining experience and one I can’t wait to repeat. Personally I think a visit to CORNUS is an absolute must. The food is incredible , the wines are amazing and the service is excellent. Thank You David and all the team for a fabulous afternoon and a Merry Christmas to you all. See you again soon.

On top of that, I chose the tea pairing—and what an inspired, unexpected addition it was. It added a totally unique twist to the tasting journey and proved to be an absolute blast. The dishes themselves were utterly divine, revealing the chef’s mastery of both technique and sourcing impeccable ingredients. I started with the Seabass Tartare with Oyster Cream, which was simply exquisite. The freshness of the seabass and the creamy richness of the oyster paired beautifully for a dish that was clean yet deeply flavorful. Next came the Handpicked Devon Crab, a standout for its simplicity and elegance. The crab was as fresh as it gets, showcasing Cornus’s ability to let high-quality ingredients speak for themselves without overcomplicating the plate. The sweetness of the crab was outstanding and left me wanting more. The Gill-netted Cornish Red Mullet and Roast Scottish Cod were gorgeous examples of refined seafood cooking. The red mullet, with its delicate flavor and impeccable cooking, was elevated by a perfectly balanced accompaniment. As for the roasted cod, it came together beautifully with grelot onions, line-caught squid, crisp potatoes, and Alsace bacon adding layers of flavor and texture that were downright addictive. Every bite had depth, leaving you savoring every element as you discovered its beauty. For the final savory course, I delved into the Roast Maison Garat Guinea Fowl, and let me just say—it was sublime. Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, it spotlighted the beauty of this often-underappreciated meat. The care and technique were evident in every mouthful, which felt both comforting and elevated at the same time. Every dish was a testament to craftsmanship, originality, and a deep appreciation for local and seasonal ingredients. What really set the entire experience apart, though, was the service. Every staff member exuded professionalism, warmth, and a genuine passion for what they were doing. They were attentive without being overbearing, and the pacing of the meal was seamless. I felt like every aspect of my visit had been carefully orchestrated to ensure a flawless dining experience. A few tips: while CORNUS might not be the easiest restaurant to find, it is absolutely worth the journey. They had me from the very first dish of their tasting menue, but the champion is Seabass Tartare with oyster cream-so incredibly fresh and elegantly flavoured!!! Very very impressive Roast Newlyn Cod, tender inside and crispy at the base- everybody's dream fish. Fantastic tuna,soft and deep venison. Very fresh bread,intriguing treats from the chef, silky pinot noir, very light, like "good night kiss" finish with mille-feuille. Great restaurant...Top 10 in London for sure.Well worth the price.

Phenomenal food, not cheap but generous. Bread to die for (the focaccia was as close to a perfect bread as I have tasted), a venison main course that reminded me in all the best ways of the much missed Mr Underhills and what a pear soufflé pudding! A seriously special but relaxed evening. Fantastic range of wines by the glass with Polish riesling as a first for me. Maybe found our new favourite London restaurant.

A well deserved Michelin star. It is a brilliant restaurant offering a focused menu with excellent flavours combinations, presentation and service. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm when we visited for lunch. The pricing is also perfect at £60 per person for a 3 course lunch menu. It is so nice to see proper cooking done well and I strongly recommend this restaurant. Overall, 5 star review from me and hope to visit again soon.

Amazing experience at Cornus! I had a wonderful time. The sea bass tartar was absolutely outstanding — incredibly fresh and full of flavor. I also enjoyed a really nice English Chardonnay that paired perfectly with the food. The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and very professional. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back!

Delightful meal at a new to us restaurant is always a good evening. Cornus was no exception. From the cheesy perfection of the opening gougère, we knew we were in for a good evening. Great cocktails with inventive flavor combinations and balance. Crab, avocado, wasabi, and finger lime was a serious piece of cooking and a great plate to eat. Who doesn't love a tarte tatin? This one was the perfect taste of autumn. Lovely pear soufflé. Our only (minor) complaints were the two mains. We opted for fish and found both to be less great than we would have liked. Maybe a sauce would have helped, but the fish on both plates was underwhelming. Still, lovely evening and a great meal overall.

So impressed with Cornus, we were a group of six in the private dining room. We all had the tasting menu and brought our own wines along. Corkage here is very reasonable at £20 All the dishes were outstanding but the handpicked Devin crab, with avocado, wasabi and ginger lime gel was the absolute standout dish for me. The best crab dish I’ve ever eaten and still dreaming about it. The tasting menu was mainly fish, but the cooking was so elegant and fresh, but still packed full of flavour Superb Riedel glassware, service was outstanding Can’t praise this restaurant enough Also praise from the vegetarians in our group on their food

Tucked inside Eccleston Yards in Belgravia, the sort of place one is unlikely to stumble upon, Cornus derives it's name from the Dogwood plant and recently celebrated it's first anniversary with a Michelin star. A sister Restaurant to Medlar, Chef Gary Foulkes at the helm with Pastries from Chef Kelly Curren, guests ascend a lift to the fourth floor where the room opens bright and airy across a sizable space with padded chairs and white tablecloths. Offered a la carte, tasting or as a bargain £60 lunch prix-fixe even on weekends, top-tier seasonal Produce and Proteins from local purveyors an obvious point of pride, Wine and Cocktails are also fair priced with Champagne well-suited to opening bites like a warm Gougere or delicate Cheese and Onion Tart. Playing R.E.M., Bob Dylan and The Clash at medium volume by day, the service professional but very friendly, it was after a breaded bite of Pork sweetened by Jam that Appetizers pitted a meaty Terrine against velvety Onion Soup with both proving faultless. Well-portioned for the price, mains from the prix-fixe seeing perfectly cooked Monkfish atop a bed of Potatoes crowned by a quenelle of Mussels, guests seeking something more hearty will not be disappointed by tender Berkshire Pork and Pommes Puree with reduced Madeira. Moving on to Curren’s craft, each of three Mignardises and house Focaccia also coming from her station, Prixe-Fixe Desserts are simple yet enjoyable with plenty of nuance while the Pear Soufflé with Chestnut Ice Cream added a la carte is tall, proud and as good as one will find at a Michelin 3* establishment.

The Roast Highland Venison was a highlight: tender, deeply flavored, and paired with glazed chicory, sour beetroot, celeriac, and Madagascan pepper. Each component enhanced the dish without overpowering it, creating a sense of rustic refinement. Desserts were whimsical and elegant. The Plum, Sake and Vanilla Sandwich was a refreshing, subtle bridge between savory and sweet, while the Citrus Pavlova showcased remarkable finesse, brightened by lemon verbena and Greek basil. The finale, Chocolate and Hazelnut Mille-Feuille, was pure indulgence—layers of buttery pastry wrapped around velvet chocolate, softened with banana milk ice cream and enriched by warm chocolate sauce. The cocktails and juices complemented the cuisine beautifully. Summer Italy and Imperial Fizz added fragrance and lightness, while the Pan Apples Juice was crisp and naturally sweet, enhancing the overall harmony of the tasting menu. Cornus is not simply a restaurant, but a celebration of thoughtful cooking, seasonal expression, and graceful hospitality. Each plate tells a story, and every detail—presentation, flavor, pace—feels intentionally composed. It is a dining experience that lingers long after the last bite.

Five stars no doubt! Exceeding expectations by all means. The menu was meticulously designed and executed with precision and passion. Two cooked fish courses were slightly unusual on a tasting menu, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Brill and cod were so tender and intact at the same time; I'm still struggling to tell which one is my favourite. Lamb was the climax of the menu showcasing 5 different cuts different taste different textures of one meat. It was not merely a concept of presenting the produce on earth and with variations; also exceptional culinary skills and creativity. Another thing I loved about their hot dishes were the temperature, just right on point and consistent throughout. This might sound silly, but this basic requirement could have been easily overlooked when so many ingredients needed to be presented, and it required absolute good kitchen coordination to get it just right. Desserts tasted great. Also loved their colour coordination. The overall menu was pacing out nicely, and each dish had the right portion size to keep your appetite to the end. Very good value for money. Friendly front-of-house staff. Good potential to get another star.

Cornus, located on the fourth floor of a building in Eccleston Yards (accessible via lift), offers a bright and airy space with a minimalist loft-style interior. The decor features off-white walls, banquette seating, and round tables for two or three, complemented by an outdoor area. The atmosphere is enhanced by a relaxed chill-tech music playlist. The Coffee Negroni was well-balanced, with distinct notes of orange and coffee layered over the classic negroni bitterness. Among the small bites, the focaccia was enjoyable, paired with quality butter, while the cheese gougère was a tasty one-bite snack. The £55 three-course menu included two amuse-bouches. The pork croquette leaned heavily into its porky flavor, while the tofu amuse-bouche was the more refined of the two. For starters, the velouté of white asparagus with snails and wild garlic was well-balanced but initially served too hot when poured. It included a single ravioli alongside thin strips of wild garlic and cucumber, adding freshness and texture. The main course, hand-rolled spaghetti with Isle of Barra cockles, wild garlic, and lemon, featured cockles out of their shells. The dish was rich, with pronounced citrus notes and an oily texture from the sauce, giving it a simple yet natural depth of flavor. Dessert was a Garriguette strawberry and Yorkshire rhubarb fool, offering a nice balance of tangy and rich flavors, complemented by a bright strawberry sauce, fresh fruit, and meringue. Service was attentive and professional, adding to the overall pleasant experience.

Went for a set lunch and took own wine Corkage is only £20 per bottle for lunch which is excellent value for money. We sat outside and the sun shone as well as the food. The food was exceptional from start to finish all perfectly cooked service was great. The sourdough bread so good I would highly recommend this great restaurant

Upon arrival we took place at the bar and tried some of Mario’s best cocktails (lemon garden is a must have). The restaurant is set up perfectly and very spacious. There are lots of options on the menu and we could have had it all. The food was delicious with as highlight a 1KG Cote de Boeuf. We drank a great red wine with the main course recommended by Melania who did a fantastic job. The service which is led by David was excellent!

This is a brilliant restaurant - hands down the best meal of the year with the best service. Yes it’s expensive but it still offers value and the short, flavour packed menu from Gary Foulkes is exceptional. Kelly Cullens desserts are equally sublime - the Milly Filly is worth a review on its own and will become every bit a classic as the lobster spaghetti with caviar deserves to be. In Melania Battiston they have lured back the brightest most engaging guardian of the cellar and we just placed ourselves in her hands and the results were stunning. It’s 4 weeks in and I think the room will continue to evolve but the food and service are already so good and the welcome both genuine and warm this place deserves to be a huge success 100% recommend

Fantastic new fine dining experience in Eccleston Yards... the food was insanely delicious 😋 highly recommend the seabass tartare, red mullet and all the deserts... Great wine selection with a very knowledgeable sommelier. The setting is bright and airy with floor to ceiling windows, white tablecloths and also counter seating. I can't wait for the outdoor terrace to open.

Used to be one of my fav Michelin-starred restaurants in London. Me and my friends used to enjoy here a lot. However the variety of the menu is not as good as before. Hope this can be better in the future.

Cornus has a wonderful dining room, wonderful service and delicious food. The set lunch menu is a relative bargain for a one star in Central London, a la carte is more fun but quite a lot more expensive. They have a brilliant corkage policy, especially at lunch time. It's a top restaurant that the lover of fine things should make an effort to visit.

Second visit. Understated elegance with peaceful and sophisticated atmosphere including lovely balcony dining in summer. Exceptional service: friendly, attentive and accommodating without being overpowering. Some exceptional dishes and amazing bread. Having tried both the a la carte and set lunch menus, I prefer the a la carte offering. Would definitely come here again.

We had an absolutely brilliant dining experience at Cornus! From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome from the manager and team set the tone for a fantastic evening. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure everything was perfect. A special mention to Aaron, who was outstanding - knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely looked after throughout the evening. His recommendations were spot-on and added so much to our meal. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Every course felt special, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was both elegant and relaxed, making it the perfect place for a memorable meal. A huge thank you to Aaron and the entire team for going above and beyond to create such a wonderful experience. Cornus is a true gem in Victoria and we can’t wait to come back!

An absolute gem. Firstly the food is exceptional and I suspect that they will be adding to their first Michelin star in due course with a second. The location is great - innovative and interesting. The restaurant its self is relaxed, light and comfortable. The service was personal and very well balanced. It’s only a stones throw from Victoria station but well worth a special trip. Fantastic food in a contemporary setting. Could become a classic London venue and more than fills the gap left by Pollen Street.

Not perfect, but pretty good. The cooking is definitely solid 1 star quality. The pigeon dish, and the crab/avocado dish were definite standouts. The restaurant is done out nicely, although the location and views leave a bit to be desired. Service was fine, but needs a bit of work. Overall, worth a visit for a posh meal!

The sea bass tartare with the green apple shiso was a standout. Every dish was great except the spinach on the lamb dish, I must’ve gotten a bad dollop of the spinach cuz it was soooo salty as if I ate a ball of salt. Lamb itself was delicious! Service and ambience also lovely. Cool bar area.

Excellent service and food, would be very happy to come back. It will be quite expensive, and despite the plating was not overly impressed with the desserts and have had better elsewhere. Overall, would probably recommend.

Incredibly well priced restaurant considering its accolades Warm and friendly service - the passion in the cookery showed through We had a lovely time and will be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor area

Tried the 6 lunch set menu. Only like the second starter. Other dishes are just not too bad. Put us off trying the full tasting. Service is good.

Went for lunch, tried the 6 course menu, some dishes were great others were let down. Beetroot, Burata dish was imbalanced and not enjoyable, red mullet was unseasoned and lacking flavour, overall dishes were feeling finessed but lacking in flavour. Sea bass tarter, Focaccia, and Seabass main course were lovely, but expected much more consistency at this price point. Wouldn’t come back sadly.

The food was great, but the service felt rushed, despite the fact that it wasn't particularly busy. A lot of effort was put into the amuses bouches, which might be better spent in pacing the service to feel more relaxing. As a minor issue, I got a second glass of my wine, but in the same glass, which still had some of the original wine in it. Not a massive deal, but it felt below the standard of a fine dining restaurant for top end prices.

Came with high expectations to this Michelin starred restaurant and was disappointed. I took the 6 course tasting menu. Here are my remarks - writing this before the deserts arrive but I don’t go to restaurants to eat deserts. 1. The food was way to salty in 3 out of 4 savory courses to the point that it masked the rest of the tastes, removing any potential for freshness 2. There was a repetition of ingredients and sauces between the dishes - this should not be the case in a tasting menu. The staff is nice and the service is good but the food leaves a lot to be desired 3 deserts came and the first was fresh with a lot of takes on the strawberry theme . Second was nice chocolate eclair but also suffered from two much salt

I am providing the following feedback after spending over £200 per person on the tasting menu at your Michelin one-star restaurant. Great improvement is needed in both the food and the service. Snacks and the starter were fine; however, I would suggest paying closer attention to the portion size of the starter. The seabass tartare was served in an excessive amount. Sometimes it’s better to focus on taste rather than quantity. For the fish course, the roasted cod was completely separated from its sides. The components did not complement one another, and the dish as a whole did not elevate its taste. The main course suffered from the same problem. The elements were not in harmony, and there was no layering of flavors. It left me wondering why the chef chose to combine those ingredients together. Furthermore, morels were used in both the fish course and the main course, which felt a bit odd for a tasting menu which we expect uniqueness for each dish? Regarding the desserts, they were really unsatisfactory. For the pre-dessert, while the idea of using rhubarb and ginger to create a refreshing dish was sound, the addition of white chocolate pearls, meringue, and yogurt cream at the base made the dish far too heavy and sweet, which weakened the intended taste of rhubarb and ginger. The main dessert was overly sweet, and I could hardly taste any chocolate, not to mention other ingredients like the olive oil and reduced milk ice cream. For the petit four, what happened to the madeleine? The outer part of it was so dry and almost like biscuit. This was very disappointing. Additionally, the macarons had an extremely thin filling, so the rose flavor was barely noticeable. In terms of service, the staff were nice but appeared too nervous. There was one instance that highlighted the need for further training: after a staff member helped clear the broken glass, she left some glass debris on the table.
