Cote was amazing, my friend took me for my birthday and they pulled out the stops. When we arrived they greeted us with a warm welcome and a card from the staff. The food was amazing I cannot eat mushrooms and thankfully after some investigation they said they can prepare my meal minus the mushroom.. The staff were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. Even brought out a melt in the middle chocolate cake with ice cream. Which was delish. Will definitely be going back there again Thank you for making my birthday special 💖
From the moment we walked in the staff were welcoming and extremely attentive but not in your face. The food was absolutely incredibly especially the summer menu (I am not so secretly hoping that they add the boursin tomatoes to the regular menu!) The only downside was that the air con was pointless but that is something that was out of the staffs control. With that in mind if you go and its hot take a fan and enjoy!
Due to the local population only good restaurants tend to last in Wimbledon village and this one is in that category. Surprisingly larger on the inside than the frontage. Had the three course set menu for two and we couldn’t fault any of the food. I’d indicated my partner’s birthday when booking and there was a birthday card on the table and stencilled birthday greeting in icing sugar on their dessert, really nice touch, thoroughly appreciated. Staff even wished happy birthday as we were leaving. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely go again
Jade was absolutely amazing and so so lovely! She welcomed us with a big smile and was super pleasant throughout the whole meal. Thanks so much!
Been here several times now. Really nice food and prompt attentive service. Paulina was very friendly and fast too.
We normally go to our local Cote in Bournemouth which is always excellent but this visit to Cote Wimbledon surpassed our expectations. We know the food is always very good but our meal was made all the more exceptional due to our waiter, Freddie, who was not only professional but made us feel that we were his sole priority. He is a credit to your company.
We took my mum for her birthday dinner this evening and it was such a lovely time had by all! Antonia was so lovely, sorting us out with a lovely table in the corner and also brought over a birthday card. Such a lovely touch! All the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. Thanks so much Antonia and team!
We’re guaranteed to have good service and delicious food at this branch, our local. Special mention to Arwen who served us tonight, she was brilliant. The festive menu was excellent and good value for money too.
Christmas Eve at Cote is a staple for us as the food is consistently good at any time of ghe year . We love to go mid-afternoon as it's quieter and permits the opportunity to engage with staff, who are always friendly and welcoming. Antonia was the stand-out this year. She has a great vibe and one that has definately spread to her staff. Thank you Antonia! Can't wait until next time.
To say our visit here was absolutely perfect is an understatement. Jade was mine and my best friend’s server and she was an absolute delight. She was very attentive, and patient with us when we took a little longer to decide what to eat out of all the amazing choices. Highly recommend attending this branch as the service, atmosphere and food are og great quality. Thank you for having us! Can’t wait to come back again soon!
We hosted our work Christmas party at this restaurant and could not have been more impressed. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. The service was friendly, attentive, and incredibly well-organized—exactly what you need when managing a large group. A big thank-you to the team for helping make our event such a success.
I've been to this branch of Côte multiple times and it's consistently great. Food is good quality and well cooked. Excellent variety on the menu which means there's something for everyone. Can't go wrong with good French bistro food. They now only do brunch on weekends and prices have gone up. Service is upbeat and friendly but it can be hard at times to get their attention.
Had been to Cote Wimbledon with few friends for breakfast, and had had a very pleasant experience, friendly staff, and delicious food. So for this family gathering this weekend, I decided for Cote. They also offered this very generous courtesy glass of Champagne for all at the table (note: lunch from the Al A Carte menu). Well it had been our intention to order "al a carte" all along, so a perfect complement! Champagne was a refined start, to a meal that would turn out to be absolutely delightful! It was also very delicate taste, dry and fine! I went for prawns gratinee as starter, others had the pate, mine was tasty, i love prawns, and theirs had this touch of butter with nice and soft prawns, mouthwatering! My main was "Roasted Swordfish in Champagne Beurre sauce", which I specifically marked down, as the sauce was simply divine! My daughter had the "Walnut Camembert Cheese Ravioli with wild mushrooms" which she also said, was excellent! And my stepson had the "Half Chargrilled Breton Chicken" and again fabulous! We all had the Chocolate Fondant as pudding, except my husband who went for the "tarte fine aux pomme"! Cote is a great local Bistro, and I could not recommend them enough! I will certainly be there again before too long... ;-)
Food was nice just was not a lot!! Chicken breast in a sauce !! With a few chips No veggies ! However the service was Amazing. Our waitress Arwen was everything and more, attentive, helpful and respectful. 5* for her alone x
Staff could not have been more welcoming! Everything was served perfectly and we had a great birthday lunch.
Lovely New Year's Eve meal with excellent service from Freddie. A last minute booking which exceeded our expectations. Well done!
We were served by Freddie who was very friendly, funny and attentive. Food was great and served fast. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Freddie and Cote, Wimbledon.
A lovely lunch, a bottle cremant , pate & cheese souflee, delish, then the best chocolate mousse with nuts, raspberries, salt & biscuits, yum. Top marks to Alice an asset to Cote, polite & just lovely. Thank you Cote & Alice. We will be back.
The genuine French cuisine is healthy, delicious and tasty. There are lots of dishes to try. Good value and beautifully cooked. The service and waiters are helpful and polite. Nice restaurant with its French design and pleasant surroundings.
We had the best evening at Côte last night! Everything was spot on – the food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, and the service couldn’t have been better. I would particularly like to mention our waitress ( …sorry we’ve forgotten her name but is a ballerina by background!) - she made our evening extra special with her warm friendly service and outstanding professionalism. As usual, Côte delivered on every level, and we look forward to returning soon.
I came here for dinner while on a work trip and I’m very glad I did! I had the rib eye which was cooked perfectly, really tender and the peppercorn sauce was amazing! My waitress Sheena was fantastic! Very lovely and looked after me so well. I hope to come back soon!
Had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Excellent service polite attentive service from the staff Jade & Alice & Zain & Harry j the chefs Alex & Alice …Thankyou very much we are booking again & spreading the word.
I am coeliac and Côte offered a GF menu and drinks. I had the cheese soufflé, salad and frites and it was delicious. I haven’t been able to enjoy a soufflé for a long time. My husband had Nico’s salad which was served with a filet of grilled tuna and he also enjoyed his. Crème brûlée and chocolate tarte tartine finished our meal off nicely. It was a late lunch so restaurant was on the quieter side but it is beautifully appointed and has a nice French vibe
Cote in Wimbledon Village never disappoints. It’s a family favourite for lunch and dinner and not only is it excellent value with friendly and attentive service, it also offers an extensive and considered gluten free menu. In this regard it is outstanding. Having never been for breakfast there before, I took my sister for brunch with her 7 week old baby. The breakfast menu served till 11:30 was so good! Every element was already gluten free, including the sausages, quite unusual, the service was warm and impeccable and every thing included really really good. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back for breakfast soon!
Alice and Jade were the most friendly staff and very attentive, they really made our experience here, I would highly recommend :)) we had the best 3 course meal and they really went above and beyond to make our evening the best. Thank you again, we will defiantly be back again!
We had an excellent time, the food was well prepared, arrived promptly and was marvellously flavoured but light enough to gorge on if you wanted. Particular credit must go our server Muhammed! He was quick to spring in with complimentary bread to help soothe my hungry 5 year-old before the meal. When my son asked for strawberry ice cream and discovered there wasn't any Muhammed rose to the occasion by promising to bring him something even better and provided the make your own sundae which was a roaring success :D We were also directed to use the app to pay to save money when brought the bill, which saved is over £20 all told and was much appreciated (though I prefer not having to get more apps where possible) Thanks all, we'll be back!
We a good meal with friends with the pork belly particularly well received. The Merlot also good. However we found the menu quite restricted compared to a couple of years back. No fish pie, confit de canard nor the vanilla ice cream with the amazing hot chocolate sauce! Please can we see these return and I'm sure our re-visiting rate will improve?!
Jade our waitress was an absolute delight and helped make the evening a really fun one. The veggie tarte tatin was truly scrumptious, I'd definitely have that again. My husband found his burger a bit bland, and Cote seem to have moved away from the thinner frites they used to serve, which is a real shame. Overall a nice evening out with a lovely team.
We enjoyed our afternoon visit to Cotes and have been visiting for many years; and always received a warm welcome and excellent food. On this occasion, it was extremely busy and although our tap water and starter were brought quickly to the table, our twice requested bottle of Cremant didn't arrive until we had nearly finished our very nice beetroot starter. After we had finished our starter, the Sea-Bream main took about 35 minutes to arrive. Overall we enjoyed all three courses, although the main, which included a side of broccoli, was rather small for the price. As always the staff were very friendly, and despite being extremely busy, they were attentive throughout our visit. To conclude, I do feel that Cotes standards have declined in recent times, which is a shame, because it was always one of our favourite restaurants.
Visited this restaurant on New Year's Day, had to wait for 30 mins but that's ok as we didn't book a table. The staff was courteous. The cloudy lemonade was refreshing. Tried the 3-course lunch menu - the potato and cauliflower soup was lovely and smooth, the steak was well cooked and the chocolate pot was delicious. Lovely view across the high street. The quality of food was better than the Cote in Tunbridge Wells where we had dinner last week. Well done.
Service was good for a busy brunch time. Staff were attentive, friendly and just made the experience that much better. Food - TASTY I had two small items from the menu rather than a cooked breakfast. Previously had soya Latte and they burnt the milk so opted for regular milk and despite the after effects tasted great! Granola and yoghurt was DELICIOUS Highly recommended & a very reasonable price 👌🏽
Nice food, well presented and flavourful. Very nice potted crab. Wine is overpriced though and even though they asked if it was a special occasion on the booking form they didn't mark it in the restaurant 😕.
Sadly disappointing Christmas meal. We booked for the Christmas menu for a party for 4. The crèmant was nice and the starters were good, however the main course turkey was a huge disappointment. Our meals were tepid at best and the gravy was cold, so we asked for it to be reheated. It came back and the mini jugs were very hot, but the gravy still was not. We were then offered more gravy, which was also not very warm when it arrived!! The stuffing in the turkey was overpowering and the turkey a bit dry (and cold) The meal would have been more balanced if there had been a green vegetable on the plate, but it was not suggested by the waitress that we might want a side dish. We had already decided that the brussels sprouts with bacon (side on the menu) were not appropriate for the dish, as our turkey and pig in blanket were already wrapped in bacon! The potatoes were a bit odd - more like hash browns than the 'confit potatoes' promised on the menu. All in all disappointing sadly and a bit over-priced for our experience. I'll stick to good old steak-frites next time!
Christmas lunch yesterday was very disappointing. The rolled turkey in sausage was dry and pretty tasteless, gravy average and no green veggies. My prawns listless, Christmas pudding ok. Service was great but honestly as Christmas lunch goes it was not worth the money
We called in late afternoon so the atmosphere was lacking as there were very few diners. Steak frittes tasted ok but nothing special, service was polite but slow, and the restaurant was clean. The bill came with 10% service charge included, something I object to as I feel this fee wasn't justified IMHO.
Rubbery canelles. Smelly loos Perfectly cooked broccoli Balanced tuna salad. Hearty onion soup. Well cooked fish.
Used to be our go to local restaurant in the village for family birthdays. Beginning to look very tired along with the food. We had the set menu on Thursday early evening. The sea bass was served on a bed of flat leaf parsley, not even chopped. Very strange! Steak very average. Lighting very bright and not much atmosphere. Staff still very friendly and doing a good job, as always. It was a birthday meal and the staff did the traditional singing and candle and birthday card, which was great. Sadly the cheese was served straight from the fridge and tasteless. Feels as if it needs a complete makeover asap.
This branch is in severe need of a refit. The loos downstairs are vile and stink. Nice staff. Shared a whole chicken, very overcooked. Nasty draft from malfunctioning ventilation system. Silly system to get cheap menu discount via App. Stop being so pedantic, either offer a discount or don’t. There is lousy phone signal in Wimbledon Village so impossible to download App.
I ordered a three-course meal. The food tasted good. After the starter was served, we waited for quite a long time, but the main course did not come. Despite this, the server asked us why we hadn’t left yet, even though the main course hadn’t even been served. When the main course finally arrived, another problem occurred — the dessert had not yet been served, but again we were treated as if we should leave. Although the food was delicious, the service was extremely poor. They didn’t even bring water until we specifically asked for it, which was long after the starter had been served. I have no desire to visit this branch again. Since the food itself was good, I would like to visit another Côte branch instead.
Definitely gone down hill. The options on the two course deal were poor. The chicken salad didn't have chunks of meat as expected but the shredded type you would have in baguettes. The other mains felt too small. Service was poor. Long delays despite being well staffed and not busy. Had to remind them at every stage. They spent their time chatting at the counter. Would not rush back. Used to be good.
We had dinner as a family. We ordered 3 minute steaks with chips. Steaks were cold hence garlic butter wouldn’t melt and chips undercooked. I don’t usually bother writing negative reviews but this time it is well deserved. Especially as previous visit last year was equally disappointing with my boeuf bourguignon. It used to be a very good place before COVID but it no longer is. The staff is friendly though
One of those places filled with 80 year olds getting one offer or another. We ordered the Christmas menu. The gravy and sauces were stone cold. There were 6 of us, not one round of courses was done properly. Desserts missed, starters missed, meals turning up late. The staff were really nice but given the price this was a massive disappointment. I last went to the Wimbledon Cote about 10 years ago. I very much doubt Cote as a business will be around in 10 years.
This used be our regular local bistro but today was the first time since the new menu. We opted for prix fix. The starters were fine as was the steak (upgraded to sirloin). 3 of us ordered the seafood linguine. The pasta was overcooked, sticky, mushy and clearly inedible. Justina the manager tried to explain that it was because the pasta was freshly made. We returned the pasta and were told to order anything from the menu but were charged for each item individually rather than part of prix fixe. And the substituted food was poor too. Also told chef was still in training. Very disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon. Hope Cote get their food / menu act together and relearn customer service when things go wrong.
Ambience and food quality is Toby Carvery standard. The corn fed chicken was bland, the burger was rock hard and dry and the fries had an odd after taste. The french onion soup was average.
Booked in for New Year’s Eve and it was just awful - food and service were well below average. Have eaten in many Cote restaurants before, and it’s usually a very high standard. Food had to be sent back as a result. Also heating was not working so it felt like dining in an ice rink.
Gone downhill. There are better French brasseries around. Corn fed chicken was dry and bland and had a weird smell. The accompanying unlimited sauces were gross. The peppercorn sauce was bearable. French onion soup was mediocre. The unlimited fries tasted like they had been fried in same oil has churros! Staff were helpful and gave us money off the bill after we commented. The burger was dry.
Extremely disappointed! second bad experience here. I came with my child for lunch and ordered burgers. The buns were stone cold, dry, and stale, the beef was very overcooked and chewy, and nothing in the burger was warm. The sweet onions and even the sauce were properly cold, straight from the fridge. When I complained, the waitress told me they intentionally serve the bread cold because warming it would make it “bland,” and that the beef has to be cooked very well done. I was honestly speechless. Serving a completely cold burger is not acceptable. I gave this place a second chance and it was worse than the first. Won’t be returning.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing meal. The French onion soup was watery, with a few pieces of onion and soggy bread, and lacked any real flavor. The calamari was poor, the chicken was bland, and the gravy was unpleasant. The chips seemed reheated rather than freshly made, and even the mayo and mustard were surprisingly tasteless. The salad was the worst part of the meal. Overall, it felt like £53 wasted. I won’t be returning.
Went on Sunday around 11am, not busy. Took 8min before we were asked for drinks. Totally ignored. We ordered English breakfast & French breakfast. Food came out barely warm, bacon not crisp, tomatoes just on the plate not grilled or warmed. Barely a spoon of mushrooms. Poached eggs over cooked. Very small serving for cost. Really very disappointed in Cote, we will not be back.
