my friend told me to go here as food would be delicious . she was well right . As soon we arrived the owner gived us the welcome. He Explaining us how the make the homemade pasta , pizza and all of the concept behind . I found it really interesting . we end up having seafood ,antipasti ,pasta and dessert. I read a few of bad reviews in here that I don't really agree with it .some people saying pasta was not cook enough, far away from "Al dente ". Well the " al dente fresh homemade pasta " will always be a bit harder then the cheap one u get from supermarket but doesn't mean pasta not cook. Well the food was delicious , resturant clean and nice ,the staff really polite and friendly 5 stars indeed .
A proper Italian Restaurant in London. Top quality, cozy atmosphere and lovely staff. Everything I tried was very tasty and fresh. A true Italian experience. Highly recommended!
Pizza was banging! The wholemeal-like dough was a welcome surprise and the toppings have that perfect sloppy but crispy umami goodness. We ordered takeout through Deliveroo. I’d avoid the chips and tiramisu both were average but who cares when the pizzas that good? Food 5/5 Value 4/5 Atmosphere - don’t know!
Been to Italy a million times and this is just like being there... Napolitano style, grande pizze at decent price for London and cheaper than flying to Napoli! Recommend the funghi and rucola with truffle oil..
There is a real attention to detail in their food, from choosing the right flour for their bread and pizza dough, to obtaining organic ingredients for taste. We will definitely be coming back. The four cheese pizza was some of the best I've ever had and their pasta is home-made.
Best restaurant in clapham junction. Staff was really nice and welcomed, expecially Mimmì who order for us an out the the menù pizza fritta with cicoli and ricotta. Higly recommended!
I came here for dinner with a my friend last week and. They have a new Chef which has recreated the pizza menu LORENZO that tastes like it is straight from Italy! The dough is beautifully crisp and light and every mouthful is a taste sensation. I have worked in a few restaurants before and tasted many a pizza and I can honestly say that this chef knows what he is doing! We also had fantastic customer service from the staff ANTONIO They made sure we were well looked after and very knowledgeable on the menu when we had some questions. I will definitely go back to this restaurant and am looking forward to trying out more of the menu!
Friendly staff and top notch Italian food. Pasta and seafood was great, and loved the homemade panna cotta. Happy to have found a local Italian place, will be returning.
Surely the best pizza I have tried in Battersea so far! The exterior of the restaurant may not be the most attractive, but once you try the food and meet the friendly owner, Gabriele, you'll definitely want to stay. Can't wait to go back and try the other typical Napoleatan dishes!
Visited here for New Year's Eve. Great service, wonderful atmosphere. The arancini starter was yummy and the pizzas are delicious. Would definitely go back.
We had a nice home made past dish with seafood was good portion and very taste. The decoration upstair very funny and Italian. The manager Mimo was very funny and entertaining. I would go back to eat here again.
Great food and outstanding service highly recommended. Will definitely dine there again next time I'm in the area!!
Great food and great service, I really enjoyed dinner with my girlfriend. Gianni was amazing taking care of us!
Gianluca bloody lovely bloke...heart of gold. Carbonara excellent too. They used proper guanciale and no double cream nonsense. Just good quality eggs and cheese
What a great place! Authentic Neapolitan food: we had some starters (baked fried aubergines and green olives to die for) followed by very tasty pizzas and lovely wine. Great atmosphere, both Gabriele and Mimmo are fantastic hosts. All food very reasonably priced - one could not ask for more... Thank you!
In my personal opinion, after nearly 3 years in this city and coming from Italy in the first place, this is hands down the best Italian restaurant I've found in London. The food is amazing and reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and the place even looks beautiful and romantic. I've now eaten here many times and I've never been let down.
Genuine Italian food, excellent service and reasonable prices - what more could you ask for? You can try the best pizzas in London here, so just go there and enjoy. The staff is also friendly and always willing to help if you have any questions about the dishes they serve. Highly recommend this place.
Sunday night and the place is packed with, a small queue. People on the table behind and beside us are Italian. The regulars greeted with a warm embrace The motto on the lamps says “when you are here you are family”. We had two small children in our party 3 and 5 years old, and they got as much attention as us, by all the staff. Pasta is excellent, every sauce full of flavour and just the right amount of seasoning. Prices are reasonable. I doubt there is a better Italian restaurant in London.
The only true Neapolitan pizza experience that you need to have in London, and maybe the only one authentic that never compromise the traditional way to prepare food. Every single time I been there always felt home in a true family southern Italian atmosphere. All I can say is a beautiful restaurant that I will go over and over again, the only one that I know at moment is worth it to spend my money.
What a great local spot. The service was good, the food was excellent. Lovely ambience, too. I had the buffala mozzarella to start with the bruschetta - both were super flavourful and delicious. My pasta was a special with veg and seafood, and I really enjoyed it (can't go wrong with homemade pasta!). For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which I'd definitely recommend. Can't wait to come back and try the pizzas!
I ate at Donna Margherita multiple times when I lived in Clapham and since I've moved away, I've made every effort to return because it simply is that good! I went there for my birthday and my girlfriend's birthday last year and both times an enormous fuss was made of us which made us feel very special. The staff are always super friendly and the food is awesome. I've tried a few different dishes and they are all equally delicious A couple of weeks ago I approached the restaurant on social media to ask if they were able to make a tiramisu for my girlfriends birthday this year, after we had enjoyed it so much last time. As people will see on social media, the restaurant is not currently open so I wasn't expecting them to be able to. However, Gabriele and his team moved heaven and earth to make us the tiramisu for her birthday party, to the extent that his chef was making it at home. I cannot thank them enough for their efforts, and of course the tiramisu was delicious. Certainly a business and people to support and they have my loyalty for italian food whenever i'm in south London!
This place is absolutely amazing. I come from Tuscany, a land known for hospitality and I recommend this place as one of the best in London. Wishing the very best to Gabriele, the owner. He'll host you with kindness and make sure you have an authentic Italian restaurant experience.
Amazing food, tried starters like the aubergine with cheese and the fritturina (lightly fried vegs) and also the Donna Margherita pizza. All ingredients have an incredibly fresh taste, the bread is all home made too and it's really good and tasty too so worth ordering that too. About the pizza, from the dough to the tomato and the mozzarella cheese all very tasty. Probably one of the best pizza I've ever had 👍🍕
I just bough a salami pizza, cheesey garlic bread , and chicken scallop salad and it was magnificent! So much so, that I had to call the resteraunt to compliment them for how good their food was. I ordered online and it arrived within 10 mins hot and fresh. The cheesy garlic bread, which I highly recommend for a starter was laced with extra virgin olive oil , but you could tell it was organic. The dough for the pizza was very very fresh and.had a nice crunch. This is my go to pizza place now without a doubt! The likes of franco manca , basilica, pizza hut and dominoes have nothing on this place. The BEST Italian food in town!!!
I've just had dinner at this restaurant with my boyfriend and my parents and I have to say, what a fabulous place! The staff were wonderful. They all work so hard but you can see they really enjoy working there, which, in my opinion, is one of the marks of a great restaurant. They're super efficient. The owner was friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and the place had a really authentic feel. We've just moved to the area and will be making regular visits to Donna Margherita
I was here for dinner with some friends. We're Italian and we love trying different pizza places all the time. We really loved it here! Nice dough, fresh and tasty ingredients (I love the fact we had both tomato sauce AND fresh cherry tomatoes!) and friendly service. We tried a few desserts too and totally fell in love with the tiramisù! Absolutely recommended.
Such a great find!! I have walked past Donna Margherita many times but finally visited last Friday evening. We were in for a treat! The atmosphere was really authentic, the service was so friendly and Luca was great!! The pizza was by far the best I've had in a long time, and the homemade pasta with seafood was perfectly cooked and flavoured deliciously. Definitely try the cannoli for dessert as well :) I will definitely be returning!
Tasty real Italian cuisine. Wonderful appetizers and desserts(special mention to the cannoly). The pizza is absolutely marvellous, soft, incredibly tasty. The best in entire London. Friendly and catering waiters. The owner, chef, and the rest of the staff make you feel like part of the family. Great overall experience, well deserves the trip.
Amazing Naples style pizza. Reservations required ... but we just swaggered in there and said that we had not been able to reserve and they found us a table too. Great customer service. Amazing food. I took the special: a pizza with loads of fresh mozzarella on it. Amazing.
The food was really, really nice and tasty. I had the Don Roberto pizza which was just divine and delicious, fluffy dough and fresh taste. The personnel was friendly and smiley too, i'd definitely go back. Just make sure you book before as it's quite a small venue and it gets busy even on a Tuesday, understandably why, the food is really really good! Thanks guys.
What a fabulous afternoon we had enjoying the ambiance, great food and friendly atmosphere at Donna Margherita. Glorious service from our super friendly waitress, delicious flavours and well selected wines. The homemade breads and pizza dough are spectacular.
THIS RESTAURANT! Is amazing! The people working are so sweet and caring. I feel like home. The only restaurant that has surprised me with a vegan pizza with vegan mozzarella without even me asking..... The love is just outstanding. Obviously the Napoli style food is THE TOP, service TOP professionalism TOP... Vibes, TOP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I honestly couldn’t recommend any better place in Lavender Hill... 😃👍 ✔️
Exquisite and authentic Italian cuisine. It felt more authentic than several of the meals I had this year in Italy. Staff are friendly, helpful and are clearly happy to be providing good food. The place was also frequented by many Italians. Almost half of the customers (or maybe more) were Italian when I visited. Would recommend.
We have been here a couple of times now, and both were an absolute pleasure. The staff are kind, attentive and authentic, and the food is absolutely stunning. We have not needed to book, which has also been nice. On one of our visits we were gifted a huge piece of hand baked sourdough to take home which was lovely. We look forward to our next visit!
Delicious, warm and friendly family italian restaurant. Went last night with my girlfriend and my brother and his wife. The owner is very welcoming and a true host! Let us try different wines, made suggestions and even let us try a few things for free. Delicious pasta - everything was sublime.
One of the best pizzas in London. Absolutely recommended. The menu is plenty of choices if you want to try delicious Italian food. The wine menu is very accurate and gives you the chance to try wines from all the regions of Italy. Love this place!!
Authentic, well run, delicious We've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years, and it just keeps getting better and better. The pizza is 100% napolitana - very thin base, puffy crust and dense sauce bursting with the flavour of perfectly ripe tomatoes. All other toppings are used sparingly so as to not overpower. I loved the Don Roberto, with its super fresh ricotta.
Fantastic Pizza and the Owner is a great guy who is passionate about his restaurant and food and rightly so. The house red is actually excellent and the food authentic and delicious. They make their own pasta and the Pizza is the best I have tasted. Proper Naples style Pizza, which is melt in your mouth. I would recommend booking before going, even mid-week as it is a popular place. TasteCard welcome but I'm not sure how long with it's growing popularity. If your looking for proper Italian food and service give this a try.
Lovely place and amazing food. Pizza San Daniele was a gem. Never had a better Italian experience in London. Cherry on top, Gabriele was a fantastic host. Surely be coming back soon! 10/10.
Nice Italian food, excellent and generous service. Prices okay.
Good food. Good service. Had to ask for the music to be turned down a bit and there were a couple if spirits on the menu they had run out of and the carbonara was a bit salty and I like it a little drier. But other that a few had the seafood linguine and loved it. Range of starters and pizza was great too. Service was good. Particularly the head waiter/maitre'd/manager. Very attentive and offered free grappas on the house.
We have been 3 times now, as we live nearby. The first two times it was amazing. Delicious food, friendly staff, food came out in a timely manner (critical, as we have 2 kids ages 7 & 10 who were hungry). The third time we went we had family in town from the states. I was so excited to take them to this place. Unfortunately it was a disaster. Our meals took forever to come out as did the drinks, some of which were mis-made so had to send back. I was embarrassed; my family wondered why we liked the place so much. I really hope they do better next time. I'm going to give them one more chance but if it's not noticeably better, we probably won't be back. Too bad, I want to love this place!!
A bit disappointed after hearing good things about this place. Very average food. 5 eating, all of us felt the same after orders of carbonara and chicken with salad and chips. Starters garlic bread and dough balls - same dough used for both, garlic butter nice. Chicken was good, came with salad which was bad - very bland and only 10 chips on plate. Service and staff were good. Tiramisu bland. Really nothing special. Should have tried the pizzas as they looked better.
Lovely, fresh pizza. The dough here is really light and fluffy and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. Service is pleasingly haphazard, but does not actually lack in competence - it's just rather Italian, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on how impatient you are as a human being. It's pleasingly dim and candlelit. I like it here. ;-)
Let me start by saying the food here is great. Authentic home cooked Italian food with a great menu of Italian wines it pair it with. But unfortunately the service we received really let this place down and put a tinge of the experience. Firstly, we had to wait 40 mins for our starters after ordering. They did explain there was issues with the kitchen but it's really not good enough especially given 2/3 of the starters didn't require cooking ! Secondly there was no check back at all during the evening. Thirdly whenever we needed anything to order a drink the bill we had to wait minutes trying to flag down waiters attention rather then being waited on.. shame.
We were hoping for so much more.. travelled from other side of london.after a very warm welcome it all went down hill. They forgot one of our drinks , we had to ask 3 times before it arrived.the restaurant was not even busy. 6 tables occupied only.then came the food.soggy verging on undercooked pizza , you could taste raw tinned tomatoes. Signature seafood dish was lacking any flavour and the portion was really small with hardly any seafood and literally fee strings of pasta . Cocktails were poor and served in 80s glasses. Plus they had a young child runny around serving dishes ,all very weird. Sorry guys, maybe we got very unlucky but won't be coming back.shame .
Food was nice, but eating here felt like when you go on holiday and end up at a really touristy restaurant that massively tries to rip you off. Considering it was Saturday night and you'd think they'd put their best staff on, we and everyone else sat in the outdoor area were largely ignored. The couple who sat down ten minutes after us ordered and got their food first, the head waiter slagged off other customers in front of us, and they tried to make us pay the totally unearned 12.5% gratuity that was included on the bill. Also £8.50 for a glass of house wine is extortionate. Only go here if you're feeling very tolerant.
Went in the middle of the afternoon but had to walk out after not being served after 25 minutes. Can't comment on the quality of food, but someone did come over to ask if I would like to pay the bill. After explaining we hadn't actually ordered anything yet, they promptly rectified the situation by ignoring us and clearing an empty table. Presumably to seat and ignore some more people. Really weird place so can't in all honesty recommend it based on the experience. Everyone looked asleep, maybe go when it's less busy and make sure you're not hungry.
The 1 star is for the good pizza. The customer service is an option in this restaurant. Came to have a 2 take away pizza, the waitress said about 10 min. After 35 min still no pizza. The owner is so rude didn't ask me once if everything was ok which clearly wasn't! Pizza arrives and they are cold like ice! I gave them back and in 5 min they did them again.... The restaurant was so busy but clearly they don't have enough experience and professionalism to run a place like this. Such a shame.
terrible experience. I had dinner here and the food is quite good. but everything is ruined by the staff. there was an old man, probably the manager that was shouting all the time, chatting with some friends of him on a table. he was trying to be funny with everyone but He was just rude. than I've been asked to move to another table when I was still eating because a friend of him wanted to sit where I was. I finished my pizza, I moved to just have a coffee and leave and I was left there for half an hour asking everybody for the bill. I'll never go back there. the worst customer service I found in London. in Italy a place like this would shut in a month. and if you ask somebody to move to another table the coffee should be on the house at least.
