Opinions de Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill — Mayfair London
BT was the best and we came here for our joint friend birthday celebration this January. I live in London now, so I will be back! The three course seasonal menu was excellent (Waldorf salad, Sea bream and Cherry cheesecake) you also get a drink included when three courses are selected. I had a non-alcoholic espresso martini and that was delicious! Quality, value and a welcoming atmosphere is a gem of a find in Mayfair!
Dining at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is a confident, polished experience that delivers exactly what you’d expect from a flagship Ramsay restaurant—precision, flavour, and a sense of occasion. Located in the heart of Mayfair, the setting feels smart without being stiff, striking a balance between refined luxury and relaxed comfort. The menu centres around premium British and European produce, with steaks very much taking the spotlight. Cooked with accuracy and consistency, the meat is rich, tender, and seasoned perfectly, allowing the quality to speak for itself. Starters are thoughtfully composed and elegant rather than overworked, while sides are generous and indulgent, elevating the overall meal without stealing attention from the mains. Service is where the restaurant truly shines. Staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and confident, offering recommendations without pressure and maintaining a smooth pace throughout the meal. Everything feels well-timed and effortless, contributing to a seamless dining experience. The atmosphere is lively yet controlled, making it suitable for both business lunches and celebratory evenings. The wine list is extensive and well curated, catering to both casual diners and serious enthusiasts. While prices reflect the Mayfair location and Ramsay name, the quality, service, and consistency justify the spend. Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is a dependable choice for those seeking a high-end London dining experience built on classic execution rather than gimmicks.
Huge fan of Gordon Ramsay so we decided to come here on our travels to London for our anniversary, it was just amazing! The staff were so friendly and a special mention to Khalid our server he made our experience. Thank you Khalid and to all the staff, the food was just amazing we went for the set menu. Honestly the food was 1000/10 , will definitely return, we were also surprised with Khalid giving us a lovely treat for our anniversary, a delicious slice of a brownie!!
Great service Great atmosphere Great taste, amazing food. Beef wellington- first time trying, nice taste, sadly the temperature was more rare than medium rare... mushrooms nothing special, mustard somewhat missing or very little added. Overall that dish is overhyped in my opinion. 5/5 still Starters, sides, dessert awesome Overall amazing experience and not that pricey. Khalid- person in was cool, good service and good chat. Gave us free brownie to celebrate our anniversary, thank you!!!
Getting here was a breeze. The restaurant shares a space (sort of) with Lucky Cat and is right next to Marriott Hotel in Gosvenor Square. If I had to mention, it could have had a slightly better sign outside but we found it with no issue. Great atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food. I had the pick 3 deal which came with a free drink (a few offered) so I chose the whiskey highball and it was good. Starter was Waldorff Salad which was as delicious as it was beautiful. Then the flat iron steak. It is ok. But of course the lesser cut of meat risks being chewy a bit. Better than Flatiron but just a touch. It came with fries which were crispy enough on the outside and fluffy and warm enough in the middle. The optional side of bone marrow juice mashed potatoes was perfection. Dessert was a nice cherry cheesecake but for me the cajeta-like ice cream on the side stole the show. To boot, they brought out a complimentary brownie bite. The staff was personable and quick. You can tell they really care. BT was amazing! Made us feel really special for our special occasion. ♥
Had lunch here with my brother. It was our first experience of eating some of Gordon Ramsay’s signature dishes, and I was just floating in the experience. The meat is cooked so accurately, it was just melting in my mouth. The mushroom in the wellington adds enough saltiness that it really makes the beef standout. The restaurant knew it was a birthday celebration and took extra care of me. Everyone was lovely, I only wished I took down names. But I remember two ladies were so friendly when checking on my table and a gentlemen in a suit when taking my initial order and helping me make my day extra special. If you want to taste a beef wellington and some amazing cuts of steak, come here!
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. It was delicious and so on point. First time ever having beef wellington and I loved every minute of it. Definitely not something I'd do often simply because of how insanely expensive the whole experience was, but it was definitely worth a trip here while touring in London!
Absolutely incredible dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor you can truly taste the quality and attention to detail in each bite. The food was perfectly cooked, rich without being heavy, and genuinely memorable. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the service matched the level of the food. One of those meals you keep thinking about after you leave. Highly recommend!
The best and most iconic Beef Wellington experience in London! I give Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Mayfair two hands up. We ordered the Beef Wellington along with side dishes like creamy spinach and a nice glass of wine. The Wellington was made with a rich mushroom duxelles and foie gras, wrapped in golden, flaky puff pastry. The beef itself was tender yet slightly crusty on the outside — such a perfect combination of textures and flavors. Since it’s a bar and we visited at lunchtime, I didn’t expect such a high-level experience, but I ended up with complete satisfaction. It was truly beyond my expectations, and I had a wonderful time here.
we went to the restaurant to celebrate my dad’s birthday. the portions are good, the food is incredibly tasty! when we mentioned my dad’s birthday to our lovely waiter khalid, he organised a free desert on a plate that said happy birthday! such a wonderful experience, we will definitely come back.
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Mayfair has quite a nice ambiance. The service is on par with what I would expect from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant… super attentive, but not too in your face; they do a great job of being observant and seeing when you are in need of something. The pork tomahawk was literally perfection with a really nice crust to it while keeping the flavor packed juices… paired with the green beans and padron peppers, this was delectable! So, take a trip to London and definitely make it a point to visit Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Mayfair! You’re not going to regret it! @GordonRamsay… Well Done!!
The food here was fabulous; very tasty and very well presented. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was lovely although the chairs slightly lower than I would have liked.
Wow I have always loved Gordon Ramsey on TV and always dreamed off going yo one of his restaurants rgen when my boyfriend chose to go there for his birthday meal it was an amazing meal 3 courses for £32 off the festive menu. All the staff was friendly and even gave my boyfriend a cake for his birthday
We had Ultimate Dining Experience, there were 4 of us and since the beginning we were happy as never. Food was delicious, much too much for 4 of us but you can have it packed for take away. Service amazing, it is expensive but you get what yiu pay for. Definitely worth every penny.
The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and cozy, creating the perfect setting. My meal arrived in just a few minutes, piping hot, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. Thank you for making my lunch experience so special! 🫶🏻
Excellent food, Beef Wellington for all, which was requested by my son, served with a lot of sides. All well made, and tasted really good. Also fantastic wine. Service was at top, staff definitely know what the do, and could handle a very busy evening, with I think, all table booked. I am looking forward to come again and taste some of the steaks.
We had an amazing dinner. BT helped to make it an unforgetable one. We had the been Wellington experience, highly recommended to have a celebration!
Wow, had the seasonal menu, bargain at £32 (items on main menu were also reasonably priced) and food was amazing. All the times in London when we eat at other mainstream restaurants who offer ok food and service, well won't be doing that again, we assume because it is Gordon Ramsey the prices will be extortionate, they are not.
This is my first experience at a Gordon Ramsay's in the UK and I wasn't disappointed. Great location, excellent, friendly and attentive team - would happily go there again, many tks all!
We were very satisfied with my partner. The service was great and the food was good. Although I would have liked another appetizer that I initially chose, but unfortunately it was out of stock. I would have liked to have toast with the tartare and those chips could have been omitted. Many thanks to our waiter Khalid.🤝 Very good service and great attitude towards customers. The actual visit time was 08.02.2025, sorry for the late information 😃 I recommend visiting.
Went there twice for the seasonal set. Price to value was well worth it. Though I have to mention that the food at my first visit was better. The sea bream felt firmer. However, it is still worth a try if you wna have value for money meal.
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill delivered an outstanding birthday dinner. The Beef Wellington was absolutely incredible perfectly tender beef wrapped in a flaky, golden pastry. Our waiter, Khalid, treated us like VIPs with attentive, friendly service that made the night feel extra special. My girlfriend loved the birthday touches they arranged, and we’re already planning our next visit for more Wellington. Don’t miss the Spinach & Truffle Gratin it’s rich, creamy, and the perfect sidekick to any main.
We love Gordon Ramsey restaurants, the service was fabulous start to finish and the food was equally delicious in lovely surroundings and a very central London location, a must visit
Fantastic service provide by Khalid and other staff - fabulous USDA steak - one of best I’ve ever had and I went to quite few good and famous steakhouse in London but this is in my Top 3, also fantastic Toffee dessert - love it.
This is my 2nd Gordon Ramsey restaurant and this experience was by far the best so far. I just wanted to eat a beef wellington as the last time I didn't order one in Vegas but made it a point to do so here. Our waiter BT made suggestions and we said ok we will run with it. We got a totally amazing experience from the sides to the steaks to the service. Hands down one of our favorite dining experiences to date. Everyone left full and with a smile. The Chef was super nice to my daughter even let her take pictures with them. Thank you from Texas.
Gordon Ramsay Mayfair Bar & Grill offers an exceptional dining experience with a blend of refined ambience and bold flavors. On my visit, I was particularly impressed by the steak tartare—it was incredibly fresh, finely chopped, and perfectly balanced with a hint of citrus that really elevated the dish. The fish dish was equally memorable; beautifully cooked with a delicate texture and enhanced by subtle, well-thought-out seasoning that let the natural flavors shine. The service felt very VIP—attentive without being intrusive, making sure every detail was spot on. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, this restaurant delivers on both quality and atmosphere.
We visited for my husbands 60th birthday gift and enjoyed the most delicious food. From the steak tartare and beef wellington to the best sticky toffee pudding we have ever had and 2 fantastic cocktails. Everything was amazing. Service was first class from Khalid. He brought my husband a lovely, complementary birthday cake and glass of fizz making the evening so special. Thank you. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely evening at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Mayfair. The service was attentive and professional throughout — staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We ordered the signature Beef Wellington with wine pairing. The food itself was excellent — perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. However, the wine pairing experience was a bit underwhelming. The wines were served late and didn’t arrive in time with the courses, which took away from the overall experience slightly. That said, the atmosphere was great, and the quality of the meal was definitely a highlight. Would still recommend, especially for a special occasion — just hoping they fine-tune the wine service to match the standard of the food.
Beef Wellington was amazing! There's a 45 mins wait time for that but it's totally worth it! It's so delicious and everything was just perfect foodwise. Mac and cheese was also good. Service needs to be improved though. Maybe we went around Christmas and the staff were just busy but the service we got was almost close to nothing. I won't expect anything more if I am in Nandos or Weatherspoon but for the price of the food and the 15% service charge - absolutely no! Not to mention they left pen marks on my friend's coat after taking to cloak room!
Our last dinner of the two weeks UK trip. We chose here because of the fun memories of watching all the shows. Food is signature though without surprise. But BT’s welcome and service is quite rememberable and interesting. Would recommend to anyway who wants a contemporary English dinner.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at one of Gordon Ramsay’s esteemed establishments, where I savored the iconic Beef Wellington, a masterpiece of technique and flavor, a testament to Ramsay’s exacting standards. The beef, tender and cooked to a perfect medium-rare, was enveloped in a delicate layer of mushroom duxelles, which imparted an earthy depth that sang in harmony with the meat. It was a little on the cold side and slightly chewy than I anticipated. The pastry, golden and crisp, shattered delightfully with each cut, revealing the succulent treasure within. The lobster roll was over powered by herbs which took away some essence of the seafood. I would give it a 5 star, otherwise. Fantastic service as a whole staff.
One of the touristy things to do when overseas is to try famous restaurants and therefore we made reservations here. As we called in only a day in advance, our seating was at 8.15pm. It was still crowded when we arrived and the staff kept wanting us to place our order even though we were still choosing our food. However, despite the little incident, the general consensus was the beef wellington was yummilicious, steak was to die for, food was excellent. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Had a late lunch and it wasn’t very busy. Services was pleasant but a little slow given we were the only table in the restaurant. They have an a la carte menu and then a 2 and 3 course set menu. Nice options on the set menus and good value. Nice restaurant but a bit odd with two massive big screen televisions running sports channels as it’s not really a sports bar type restaurant. Food was tasty and great portions.
We had Beef Wellington and some sides. The food was really excellent, though on salty side for my taste. Couple of points worth noting: this is not your special occasion place, there are TVs everywhere with football on, and not much is happening. I assume a lot of Marriot people come here for dinner as the restaurant is in the same building. Service is ok, very attentive and quick.
My wife and I went to treat us to an anniversary dinner. We decided on the festive 3 course menu. The starters of soup and cod fries were amazing. Very tasty and very fresh tasting. Unfortunately it went downhill with the main course. The minute steak was very tough to chew and I'm sure not fit for an establishment such as Ramsey. I understand that the set menu does not have premium cuts but I'd rather not to be offered substandard steaks offered at all.
Visited Lucky Cat for bottomless brunch and honestly left underwhelmed. For the price, the food was just okay – nothing that really stood out. The drinks were the biggest disappointment. Out of the full cocktail list, only two were available as part of the bottomless option, and because of their oversized branded ice, you’re left with barely an inch of liquid once removed. We also had a long wait for dessert, which the server did acknowledge, but as the brunch sitting had ended, a goodwill gesture like offering a drink would have gone a long way. Overall, it felt overpriced for what it was and didn’t quite live up to the Gordon Ramsay name.
We really enjoyed our steaks and the bone marrow mashed potato’s, however we felt the price wasn’t justified for what you get. But the real issue we had was that on the menu you can add “Tiger prawns” to your meal, my partner added 3 prawns to his steak which was an extra £10.50, however when the prawns arrived they weren’t tiger prawns, we brought it up to the waiter and he said sometimes they will give tiger prawns if they have them or otherwise small prawns if they have none. We were also told they were the restaurants version of Tiger prawns?? shouldn’t be advertising food they don’t have and serving it and even more so shouldn’t be giving people less than what they pay for instead of simply saying “sorry we don’t have king prawns today”. They did take the prawns off the bill but should take this on board for future ;)
From the moment we walked in, we could sense the staff’s unfriendly attitude. At first, I thought maybe it was because we’re Asian, but after reading other reviews, it seems this is a common issue. The restaurant’s signature Beef Wellington looked impressive, but it was quite underwhelming. Not only the beef, but the mashed potatoes on the side didn’t taste like something you’d expect from a well-known restaurant. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, though the Olives and Winter Tomato Salad were quite nice. Also, before the main dishes arrived, our appetizer plates and used cutlery were still on the table — they were not cleared or replaced, which felt a bit strange for a place like this. Overall, the food was expensive, the flavors were average, and the service was disappointing. We came in with high expectations, but sadly, this turned out to be the most disappointing meal of our trip in the UK. Honestly, we would’ve enjoyed cooking something ourselves from the supermarket more — at least it would’ve made more sense for the price.
Overall it was nice, not brilliant but nice. Location was really pleasant and the entrance, seating and initial greeting and seating fantastic. We were shown to our seats given the menus and it was all good and looking glike it was going to be a very nice experience. We were there as a gift purchased by our daughter for a father's day gift and that seemed to be where things fell off a bit. We told the waiter that we had a voucher for the meal which is a set seasonal menu, he told another person who came over and we told him and although it may had been us, but we felt the tone changed. He needed to see the voucher and check it was ok and all in order. So he wandered off with it and didn't hear if all was in order untill the waiter cam back after around 15-20 mins asking us if we wanted any drinks? The waiter was very attentive and very professional but the tone towards us, which may be because we were using a voucher and not a large paying customer, felt very different. This was going to be a nice experience which was not only for fathers day but wa also combined it with our wedding anniversary, felt a little tainted. I hope that our experience is a one off as they weren't very busy and may had been having a slow day.
Video of the set menu included. I booked a reservation at this restaurant to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Unfortunately, our experience started off on a slightly sour note - the first lady who greeted us and showed us to our table was quite stern, which didn’t create the most welcoming first impression. That said, things improved significantly from there. We chose the 3-course set menu, which was lovely and very filling. If I were to return, I’d probably opt for the 2-course option, as that would have been more than enough. Our servers were warm, friendly, and chatty, they really elevated the experience for us. They even sang happy birthday for my friend, took her photos, and brought out a personalised complimentary plate with a brownie, which was such a sweet touch. One slightly confusing and awkward moment came when I took a photo of the restaurant setting simply for an Instagram story. I was strongly signalled not to take the picture, by a man at the back of the venue, though I’m still unsure why. I don’t know who was in the restaurant or if there was someone of particular importance present, but I felt a bit uncomfortable, as if I had done something wrong without knowing what it was. That moment aside, the rest of the evening went smoothly.
After watching Gordon on Netflix last night showing his passion for his new restaurant I was super keen to try Gordon Ramsey bar and grill whilst staying in Mayfair. I wish I didn't go as it burst my bubble. The place is very nice inside the Marriott hotel. Stuff great very pleasant. I just ordered a ribeye and chips and beans, £90.00 for one. The ribeye was super salty and the "king prawns" well you see. It was all ok but really any beautiful food should want you coming back for more. Not me I'm afraid. I still love him but the passion is it just for the money and not the taste.... I fell bad now for Go Ng.
Big expectations even bigger disappointment. 1. It was hard to find the entrance - there was huge logo of lucky cat but no sign of bar & grill 2. I didn’t find restaurant crew welcoming. It was more like ‚oh another guest - grt me out of here’ 3. When I was taking off my coat the waiter asked me about water but didn’t mention that it’s gonna be 750ml and it’s frome the menu (i would prefer to take tea instead) 3. I’ve order fish&chips because I was more than sure it couldn’t be bad. And what a surprise - fish was bland, chips were tough, not creamie. Lot’s of places in London with lower prices presented much higher quality. 4. After my complain about tough fries the waitress just said ‚oh sorry - do You want a dessert?’ My answear was negative. 5. Within 5 minutes 2 other crew memebrs asked me about the desert - sorry guys but you should talk to each other. 6. So I paid around 52£ for: 750ml water that i couldn’t drink because that’s too much for me, one portion of fish&chips, glass of whine and 15% service. 7. I won’t come back and I won’t recommend this place. I’m sorry.
My husband and I have been staying at the hotel where the bar and grill is located. We have ordered from here several times, but unfortunately it has disappointed each time. The consistency of what they put out is crazy cheese burgers without cheese and burnt. Sandwiches that are bland and always forgetting to bring our drinks. I expected better quality on the food because Gordon’s name is attached, but I guess that his principles of sending out good service and food is just a stick for him. Not worth the price regardless of how hungry you are and want room service! Pricing and not worth it.
We went with higher expectations than we should have, we visited hells kitchen in Vegas and had the beef wellington, stunning, one of the best at meals we've had. We went for the beef wellington here, a totally different story. Very uninspiring, neither of us finished as it was a little sickly. Very basic bar menu and with limited basic spirit selections. For the price youll be better off going to numerous better places. We went at lunch timee, there were about 3 other tables with people. Obviously everyone else got the memo that it's not the place to be. We have big regrets we didn't chose the lucky cat next door, this feels like a poor bolt on. Service was acceptable, nothing spectacular though.
Overall this place was overpriced, bad food, and weird ambience. Honestly I’m not sure what I expected (I feel like this is going to Olive Garden in Times Square and expecting it to be good) but I wanted to try a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. The menu is super expensive. This was probably the most expensive meal we had in London while also being by far the worst. The sushi roll was terrible and was £20. I get better sushi from the hole in the wall places next to my apartment in NYC for 1/3 the price. The fish and chips (the main thing I wanted to try) was also not good - while the fish was flaky and clean tasting, it had no flavor. It was just bland and the tartar sauce wasn’t good. Not to mention the fries and peas which did not impress either. The bread and tomato salad were good. The ambience is weird - there’s no sign/host stand and in order to enter the restaurant, you need to enter the other Gordon Ramsey restaurant next door and then enter this one through an unmarked side door. Very confusing and odd. Service was also very slow.
Totally disappointed with the entire experience. I was looking forward to coming to Gordon Ramsay to celebrate our arrival and holiday in London. The food was okay, but overpriced and zero ambience, the music was very loud (drowning our conversations, that we had to shout/speak loudly so that we can hear each other). What prompted me to write this poor review stems from the very annoying foreign speaking older server/waitress who is utterly unprofessional, repeatedly interrupting us several times while we are still eating, and rudely clearing our plates despite still having food on it and knowing that we had not finish eating yet. She does not have manners ! She interrupted us a few times until I told her off to “leave us alone” and yet, she still came back to clear the dishes without our consent ! I complaint to the host and asked if they are chasing us out to get the table back ? It’s Thursday 11 Dec, there were plenty of empty tables ! It’s a horrible experience and we felt disrespected and discriminated. Does not justify the high price ! The host who brought us to the table, she is pretentious and when I decline her suggestions to order extra entree and sides, she gave an unhappy face. We ordered the famous Beef Wellington for 2, Pork Tomahawk, Pork Ribs, dessert and wine. We had so much to eat, spent GBP300 !!! and really does not appreciate to be upsold ! To the manager of this restaurant or Gordon Ramsay, please train your host and waitress/server to be genuine people and speak proper English and do their work properly with grace and not treat your very high paying customers as though it’s some street side stall ! I cannot believe it when the server/waitress was “sort of throwing loudly the dessert plates on the table” ! Most other fine dining restaurants, their server would have done everything with grace and carefully put down the dishes or kitchen utensils. I will not be back, regretting that I had actually paid so much for such aweful experience.
Pea soup came out cold Beef wellington was tasted frozen and defrosted Starter of beef tartare served with seabrook crinkle cut crisps ! Unbelievable Only think that was half decent was the sushi Restaurant was not up to standard ..
I recently had breakfast at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and was very disappointed with the overall experience. Every element — from the eggs to the juice, coffee, and croissants — fell below expectations. • The omelette was greasy and browned on the edges. • The hollandaise on the eggs royale looked more like swirled mayonnaise than a proper sauce. • The croissants were stale. • The orange juice was not fresh. • The coffee tasted burnt and was unpleasant to drink. Given the Gordon Ramsay brand, I expected a much higher standard and better attention to quality. Unfortunately, the food and execution felt careless and did not live up to the reputation associated with Gordon Ramsay’s name.
We visited it for breakfast and it was a real shock..i expected a better quality. The staff were really friendly. However my 1 star rating was not only because of that but it was mainly because the smell from the restaurant ruined my vacation as it is is filling my hotel room all day long. Honestly, I believe that chef Ramsay should shout "it's raw' to the engineers who worked on the renovation of this restaurant "this is disaster""shut it down" for god sake
Honestly extremely disappointed with the food here. Went to dine there for a birthday celebration with 2 of my folks. We wanted to order 3 separate steaks at first, but we got up-selled to get the dry aged tomahawk (14pounds/100g, 1.3kg, medium rare) instead. Honestly - its the worst steak I’ve had in my entire life, its tough, salty, overly-charred. I swear I’ve eaten better steak at a fraction of the price. Even more disappointed that I had to pay more for this steak too as compared to our previous 3 orders. Definitely not worth to jump onto the bandwagon because of Ramsay’s brand. If you want good steak, just go to another steakhouse and you will get better for a cheaper price too.
