My boyfriend took me to La Torre for a lunch date. The first thing was the atmosphere it was extremely welcoming and festive with soft music and lovely decor. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable made the experience even better. We had Calimari and bruschetta as a started both fresh and full of flavour. For mains was ribeye with an outstanding peppercorn sauce and a chicken milinase that served with spaghetti and tomato sauce which was a huge portion and again outstandingly fresh. The drinks were refreshing. We were recommended the tiramisu for desert we were both stuffed so we’re worried we wouldn’t be able to have it but it was so light and full of flavour blew both of our minds. The place is family run and you can tell everything is made with passion and love. E staff was consistently accommodating we will definitely be coming back and i recommend to everyone to experience this at least once in their life.
A Truly Authentic Italian Gem: Simple Perfection and Warm Service 🌟 From the moment we stepped into La Torre we knew we had found something special. This is not just an Italian restaurant; it's a genuine culinary experience that transports you straight to the heart of Italy. The food here is simply brilliant. What truly sets it apart is the focus on simple, high-quality ingredients that shine through in every dish. The flavors are incredibly authentic a testament to traditional Italian cooking. We had the Chicken and Mushrooms and the Pasta with garlic and Chilli and were absolutely blown away. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and prepared with expertise and passion. If you're looking for true, unpretentious Italian taste, look no further. The staff deserve a special mention. They were exceptionally helpful, offering recommendations and checking on us without being intrusive. Their passion for the food and commitment to a great dining experience was evident. It added such a warm, inviting atmosphere to the evening. To cap off an already perfect meal, we were delighted to receive a complimentary glass of Vin Santo with our dessert. It was the perfect, traditional digestif and a lovely touch that exemplifies their genuine hospitality. In summary: If you value brilliant, authentic food based on simple, quality ingredients, and appreciate genuinely helpful and warm service, this is a must-visit. We can't wait to return!
An Unforgettable Italian Dining Experience in Crouchend We just had one of the best meals we’ve ever experienced at this cozy Italian gem. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed, the atmosphere is intimate and inviting, and you can immediately tell it’s a place run with heart and passion. The restaurant is personally attended by the owner, which makes all the difference. You can feel the dedication in every detail, from the immaculate cleanliness to the impeccable service. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and they truly make you feel at home. Now the food… spectacular is an understatement! I had the Linguini di Mare, and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever tasted, perfectly cooked pasta, full of fresh seafood, and bursting with flavor. My husband had the risotto, and he couldn’t stop raving about it. Every bite was perfection. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Crouchend, making it a perfect stop whether you’re a local or just passing through. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine, warm service, and an experience that will leave you wanting to come back again and again, this is the place. Don’t miss it. It’s a true hidden treasure.
Excellent food and service in a lovely little location in the heart of Crouch End. I've lived nearby for years but had not tried it until I had a recommendation from a friend. They did not disappoint. The lamb was very well cooked and the sauce was perfectly flavoured and spiced. Even the Tiramisu was amazing although a tad sweeter than I like it. Definitely worth trying.
Literally so amazing! Came here on New Years Day and it was lovely. Adorably decorated and cozy for Christmas and the food was incredible - it was the best bruschetta I’ve ever had. I also had the boar pasta which was so great. Service was also fab and the staff were super lovely. A gem in Crouch End for sure!
Amazing food with great hospitality. The atmosphere and the caring of stuff was impressive. Not to mention the cleanliness that the restaurant carries throughout and on top their toilets hygiene is impeccable. We had an amazing salad of octopus legs with prawns and calamaris. Follow up with risotto asparagus and prawns sooo good even my fussy daughter enjoyed. Children had their favourite calamari prawn platter with chips which by the way left the plates empty. In the end we had some chocolate soufflé with ice cream. For sure we will return again very soon.
Amazing italian food..so authentic 😊I felt that I was eating food from Italy.. The service was really nice and the staff was also very friendly and welcoming 🙏..Ambience is very spectacular as well. Highly recommended stopping by🫶👍
La Torre Restaurant in Crouch End serves authentic Italian dishes full of flavor. The pasta and desserts are outstanding, and the warm, family-run atmosphere makes dining here special. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening with great wine and service.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Crouch End,The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! And amazing wines to choose,Service are also great and always efficient, I can’t wait to return, and will definitely recommend to all my friends to come.😊
Review for autistic people: La Torre I arrived at the restaurant at 12:15 and it was not busy for the duration of my stay. Even though we were only 2 people, we were allowed to sit at a 4-person table, so we could spread out a bit. There was ample distance between tables. There was music playing, but it was quite quiet, and generally the restaurant was peaceful. There were no aggressively bright lights. The food was exceptional (I had tagliatelle and ragu sauce) and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and were always available. There is lots of choice in food and drinks. Drinks come with ice. Today it was 0°C outside and it was still quite cold inside, though there was a heater on. The toilets are signed and are at the back of the restaurant. They have paper towels instead of a hand dryer. Overall - the food was delicious and a perfect meal size and the staff were very friendly 🙂
A fantastic Tuscan experience. I ordered pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar home-made pasta), which were absolutely fantastic. I accompanied with a glass of Nero d'Avola and I got the pear and chocolate dessert. Being from Tuscany myself, I found myself at home. I will be be back to try the cacciucco next time. Highly recommended
So glad I found this wonderful Italian restaurant in Crouch End I had a wonderful pasta with prawns and my girlfriend had monkfish. Highly recommend!
Great food here last night. We had a sharing meat board that had generous portions of meats, followed by the seafood spaghetti which was flavourful and can with plenty of fish. Finally we finished of with a homemade tiramisu and a souffle. Friendly and attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere.
We had a lovely meal at La Torre on Sunday evening. I was expecting to have a simple pasta dish but ended up with an extremely tasty lobster risotto. My husband had the Fagioli to start and that was excellent too (I know, I tried it!) I would highly recommend this restaurant. So hard to find a really authentic Italian restaurant- this one definitely is.
I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Each course was served with a perfect balance of care and efficiency. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. The flavors were rich and authentic, and it was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the decadent desserts, every bite was a delight. Whether you're a fan of classic Italian dishes or looking to try something new, this restaurant has something for everyone. Highly recommend.
My wife and I recently visited La Torre to celebrate my birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere of this lovely family-run restaurant. The food was simply exquisite—every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the passion and care that goes into each plate. The highlight of the evening was having Chef Albano personally come over to chat with us, which made the experience feel even more special. A special mention to the waitress , who was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. The service was top-notch, friendly, and efficient. Everything about La Torre—from the delicious food to the personal touches—made our evening unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming dining experience!
Chef Albano and team are nothing less than excellent. Friendly family run restaurant with true Italian food. I recommend 100%
Although we went at a quiet time of day, service was great and the food even better. They gladly accommodated a birthday greeting request. Will be back again
Went for lunch on Sunday the other week for first time. The food was great, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff excellent. Definitely be back again soon!!
Amazing food and Wines with great hospitality. The atmosphere and the caring of stuff was impressive. Not to mention the cleanliness that the restaurant has I definitely come back 👌
We had some lovely wine and an off-menu Clam spaghetti dish that was delicious. Please give this place a try, the family that run La Torre are great too :)
Cosy restaurant with authentic Italian food. Service was great not to mention the food, pasta was super tasty. Highly recommend!
Great family run restaurant, very nice setting, service and food was absolutely amazing. It is the kind of food that reminds you of italian holidays by the coast.
Fantastic place! The food was delicious. One of the best tiramisu we've ever had! Highly recommended and will come back 👌
Just a really nice place where you can find great pasta and much more..Very clean and cozy.Happy I've tried today..
Was a lovely meal. Seduardo was amazing! Recommend💕
An absolutely exceptional experience! The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. Chef Albano is a fantastic person who brings his passion for Italian cuisine to every dish. We started with a delicious selection of Italian cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by focaccia and meatballs bursting with incredible flavours. For the main courses, we enjoyed wild boar tagliatelle followed by roasted lamb with potatoes – each dish was a true journey through the authentic tastes of Italy. A heartfelt thank you for the warm hospitality, and a special mention to Salvatore, the waiter, for his professionalism and impeccable service. We can’t wait to come back!
Amazing service and kindness at La Torre! Me and my friend really enjoyed our meals and I particularly loved the Penne alla Boscaiola. Never pressured us to leave when they were near closing and we had delicious home made limoncello shots, couldn’t recommend this place more 🤩
We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch here on New Year’s Eve, and it was a fantastic experience. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, setting the tone for a wonderful meal. The food was absolutely delicious 😋, especially the prawns I had as a starter – they were incredible. I’d highly recommended this lovely family run restaurant!
Excellent service from Monika who was sweet and attentive and served the table of 8 seamlessly. Delicious food and wine, I especially enjoyed the pappardelle cinghiale (wild boar pasta) with the primitivo from Manduria. Many thanks we will be back.
If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine this is the place to go. I took my family there for dinner and we ordered various dishes as we like to try everything. And I can genuinely say that everything tasted amazing. The service was fantastic, ambience was great too and most importantly this has to be the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. Thank you to the whole family as I understand husband and wife run the kitchen and daughter the front of house. The chef himself also came to check in on us to ensure that we were happy with everything. My kids are very fussy eaters but here they enjoyed their meals even sampling our food.
Authentic Italian food, everything was delicious… I recommend this restaurant 100%
Amazing and delicious Italian and Mediterranean dishes. The staff is amazing and very friendly. The restaurant has some of best affordable Italian wines. They even have someone qualified to advise on what wine to choose with your food. Looking forward to going again. Highly recommended.
The seafood pastas were really delicious! I had the ravioli and sampled a bit of my partner’s seafood spaghetti. Wasn’t a massive fan of the calamari as I found it a little too chewy. Lovely cosy vibes inside, friendly staff albeit slightly slow service on the evening we went.
For starters we had the MELANZANE ALLA PARMIGIANA which was a bit disappointing. It was covered in a lot of cheese but with not much aubergine. For mains, I had the 10oz ribeye steak which was tasty but a bit under cooked to my liking. My partner had the CACCIUCCO ALLA VIAREGGINA which she enjoyed very much, the calamari rings were overcooked though. Great food and excellent service.
Nice if not a bit salty. Enjoyed the pasta and steak
Nicely cooked sea bass fillets with wilted spinach and roast potatoes was a great choice, and quickly produced. The Limoncello Flute was on point, the double espresso mediocre. Great air con was a bonus today too!
Average restaurant, a bit too expensive for the quality. It took 45 min for us to finally get the starters, the waiters were nice but seemed a bit disorganised. The restaurants ambiance wasn’t the best, bright light and cheesy music blasting, poor effort on the tableware. The meal was ok, not exceptional and quite expensive for what it was. For £120 for 2 you can definitely find better Italian restaurants.
It pains me to write this because i wrote a very positive review of this restaurant for a local paper in Crouch End when it first opened and I found Albano the owner and his family very courteous. So what has happened to change my mind? Well, my first visit after writing the review has left a very bad taste. This is exactly what happened. I was looking at some of the more expensive wines in the winelist and hesitating whether to splash out. Then the waitress said that the cheaper white wines were not available (for example Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Citra Terra Mare DOP Abruzzo at £34 a bottle) but I could have 30% off the price of a bottle of the Gavi di Gavi which was more expensive at £42. I accepted her offer (believing what she said to be true although I had no way of checking it out.). My three fellow guests witnessed the offer of the discount! However when I came to review the bill (unfortunately I had already left the restaurant) the waitress had omitted to make the promised discount and I paid the full price. I called up the restaurant the following day to point out the omission, and expect an apology and refund, any self-respecting restaurant would. It was the opposite! Albano’s daughter who responded to my phone call knew nothing about the discount, disputed it was ever made and was certainly not going to honour it. She made clear she was completely oblivious to an unhappy customer. This makes me both sad and angry. I do not rescile from my positive review of La Torre. It’s cuisine is good (albeit expensive) but I strongly advise La Torre to urgently review their customer relations. This is a very bad look!
Very disappointed. White bait must be out of a packet. When you are not sure if the chicken is cooked it kinda ruins the meal. Waitress looked very sad perhaps she felt sad for the clients. Shocking. Morreti on tap was nice.
We went to celebrate a birthday, and this was a very disappointing experience. The food was poorly presented, the fish was dry, and this was probably the worst Italian meal I've ever had. Even the limoncello at the end was watered down! The staff were pretty inattentive too, spent a lot of time arguing with each other. Has this restaurant changed hands recently?? They seem clueless. We will definitely not be going back.
